Q we are scan date buddies!

I won't be doing a facebook announcement, i'll tell the people I want to know by test or in person, there are a lot of people on my facebook who I wouldn't tell as I haven't seen them in 15 years!

One I did quite like that I saw is two coke bottles that say 'Mom' and 'Dad' and then a babies bottle in the middle :-)

QforCucumber · 27/08/2015 13:48

Yay mrs it feels like forever and a day away though, especially with all these pictures appearing on here.

Rosieblossom123 · 27/08/2015 13:54

Beautiful I think it's because it's my first I want to enjoy it with my family on my own, I sound horrible haha I guess everyone is different.

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 27/08/2015 14:01

I just had a quick look back at what we did last time round and I didn't put anything on Facebook until later on. I somehow thought I put the scan picture on but I didn't. I had written a facebook status about DHs new job and the excitement of relocating and then tagged on the end about a new arrival coming in July 2014 so people had to fill in the gaps.
With regards to unintentionally upsetting people, I would obviously not want to do that but like marmite says there is an unfollow button, I am now trying to think if there is anyone I know who is ttc or struggling with mc as I don't want to upset them! On the other hand though you are entitled to feel excited about your own pregnancy and share it with friends, not have to to hide it away for fear of hurting someones feelings. I agree that if they are close or family, telling them first will help!

Crispylicious · 27/08/2015 16:21

Hello all! I was on the Fred briefly, but disappeared after an early scan showed a too small sac, meaning there was a high risk of MC. We had another scan at 9+3 and all looked fine and normal, phew! So I'm back and looking forward to chatting Smile

EDD is 22 march and I have one DD who is 20 months (and an ivf baby, so this one was a complete surprise!).

Interesting chat about FB announcements. I think you should do what feels right for your family. Personally I won't be doing one, as used to find them so stabby when ttc DD, but guess however you find out can be a bit stabby! And I'm sure I bore everyone rigid with pics of DD now...

Celen · 27/08/2015 16:23

NewMrsD then you are my scan date buddy too! Scan date triplets Grin Although hopefully none of us have actually triplets, HAHA!

TriJo · 27/08/2015 16:27

Due date buddy Crispylicious! :)

MyNameIsSuz · 27/08/2015 17:47

I think with fb announcements, it's nice but it's not for me. Last time I didn't put anything and I really liked the reactions I got when I put the first picture up after the birth - obviously friends and people I see often already knew. And I'm another one who found it tough after (and the two weeks during) my mc. But dh is exactly the opposite and has proudly stuck a photo up!

MyNameIsSuz · 27/08/2015 17:48

Aww at all the due date buddies, I don't think I have one - anyone else the 10th?

QforCucumber · 27/08/2015 17:55

suz at my 9 week scan I was given the 10th, based on lmp I think the 12th, 12 week scan will probably give me the 14th o something haha.

MyNameIsSuz · 27/08/2015 17:59

Yay Q!

sherazade · 27/08/2015 20:17

I'd be quite happy for someone to 'steal my thunder' to be honest as i'm not one for liking being in the limelight. A good friend of mine who is also a colleague announced her pregnancy at the end of last term and everyone was making a fuss over- precisely what i'm dreading. I hope she doesn't begrudge me for stealing her thunder- never really thought about pregnancy this way before!

TheBubGrower · 27/08/2015 20:57

Hi all, thanks for all the welcome messages! I've been wondering too re the Facebook reveal. I think my OH would like to but I've managed to tell him to hold off for a while yet. I agree with the PPs who have said you need to be careful/sensitive about who you might unintentionally upset. I had a MCC in march and it broke my heart to see pg announcements on Facebook, although I understood too why people wanted to shout their happy news from the roof tops.I'm also still slightly anxious about feeling "but what if something goes wrong...?"

In terms of thunder stealing, slightly different but my BIL is soon going to propose to his gf and I must admit I feel a bit Envy about that... Me and my OH are not yet engaged but I think he plans to pop the question soon whilst I'm pregnant.... Bit awkward now really as it feels a bit like a race to get engaged now! I wish he'd never told us as if we get engaged first now it will look like we have done that on purpose!

TheBubGrower · 27/08/2015 20:57

*mmc

Missikat · 27/08/2015 22:56

Welcome all you new ladies!
rosie i have my scan tomorrow too, 2pm. Yours is at 9 is it? Good luck and hope your little bean is wriggling away in there. I'm half excited but more shitting myself I'd say. Really worried bout mmc. Hopefully all will be well!

With regard to FB post not sure what I'll do this time. Can't actually remember what I did with DS, I don't think I posted my scan but may have to go back and check! I also have a couple of friends who I don't see regularly who are struggling with years of infertility and failed IVF so don't think I'll post. Also think it's pretty early still. Good luck to all of you with scans coming up.

lilmissiehopeful · 27/08/2015 23:38

Ok rant alert.... I am already soooo fed up of needing to wee loads. I'd forgotten this from last time. It is probably top of my list of annoying things about pregnancy. I'm all lovely and warm in bed but need to up to go to the loo. And then if I don't fall asleep pretty pronto I'll need to go again before long. Gggrrrr!

TheBubGrower · 28/08/2015 00:23

I'm the same lilmissie! If I'm awake I need to pee... I'm also very (TMI ALERT) gassy tonightBlush

Anyone else obsessively checking out their growing bumps in the mirror 17,000 times a day? I can't get used to this big belly already! Still not quite sure though how much of it is baby and how much is just the sweet tooth I've developed lost the will power to fight since I've been pregnant!

MyNameIsSuz · 28/08/2015 06:22

Urgh, anyone else keep waking up super early? I'm up at 6 in the week anyway but all week I've been waking up at 5, uncomfortable with trapped wind and unable to go back to sleep as my mind is wide awake. This morning it was a cramp in the back of my leg! I'm so tired but can't seem to stop waking up at a ridiculous hour.

marmitemofo · 28/08/2015 07:09

Me too suz! I've been waking up between 4 - 5.30 for the past couple of weeks :'-( and DD wakes up between 5.30 - 6 so all in all sleep is pretty lacking at the moment...

BeautifulLiar · 28/08/2015 07:23

Yes i wake up early! And it is soooo weird having to wee loads. I normally just don't wee Blush I'm really bad and will drink one or two small drinks a day then not wee much, but I'm drinking and weeing loads now!

Good luck Rosie!!

MyNameIsSuz · 28/08/2015 07:27

Snap marmite, ds is an early riser too and always has been. A gro clock has really helped, but if he hears me going into the bathroom at 5.30 he won't want to wait in bed. Plenty o beebies!

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 28/08/2015 07:43

missikat and rosie my scan is today at 1.30! Looking forward to it but nervous at the same time!

Ditto on the weeing and gas front! Some lovely symptoms of pregnancy! A good one though, my nails are so strong and growing fast!!

lilmissiehopeful · 28/08/2015 08:12

I was up twice in the night to wee. Also feeling quite gassy. Nice. Remind me when it is that pregnancy starts to be lovely?! Ditto to the annoying early waking. And DD is an early riser too - usually 5.30 - so not much sleep happening at the mo. She is also being really hard work at the moment. Suddenly turned into a proper little diva threenager. Hoping it's 'just a phase' and a brief one at that ;-)

Good look smirking and rosie with scans today. And missikat too I think? Everything crossed for you x

gemsparkle84 · 28/08/2015 08:14

Good luck all you ladies having your scans today. Flowers I too waking up early... I am having the most strange dreams! Very intense, graphic and usually sexual Blush. Xxx

MyNameIsSuz · 28/08/2015 08:20

Good luck with the scans today ladies!
