sleepy not sure really. Obviously that would be preferable but I don't think he'd be very happy if I asked that. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable to either. Part of me does feel he should be able to go out and have fun as it will change when the baby arrives. But then part of me thinks well I don't have that option, and what if it doesn't change?

jmac88 · 11/08/2015 20:17

Hmm yeah bee I would definitely be happier if it was for exercise. It's the coming home late that bothers me. And really don't want to be around a drunk person. Ugh now I feel even more emotional as maybe he is just being a dick.

lilyb84 · 11/08/2015 20:18

Congrats MissMartin, another girl!! And glad to hear your bp was lower this time sleepy Smile

jmac yes, hormones all over, nothing too bad but definitely emotional over silly little things and also feeling slightly frustrated by DH's seeming lack of awareness when it comes to our social life. Fortunately he started a bar job recently which has taken the pressure of a little as he's on lots of lates, but he doesn't seem to understand that when we do go out, I wouldn't mind a slightly earlier night (and perhaps a slightly more sober husband)... Agree with another poster that a few nights out does seem like something that could be reduced to be a bit more reasonable for you though!

MissSMartin · 11/08/2015 20:19

Teenie im 16+4, bet your excited! Grin.. Anyone think time is flying by?

I found out one of my friends went into labour at 25weeks.. Luckily they managed to stop it progressing and now she's on bedrest.. Feel so sorry for her!

lilyb84 · 11/08/2015 20:20

But also try not to worry too much about what it'll be like after the baby's born - both your lives will change and you don't know how either of you will feel or how it'll affect his want and need for his current levels of socialising! Not worth panicking over now Smile

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 20:22

jmac my DH is just the opposite, I normally spend a lot of time reminding him that he has friends and should go out for a beer from time to time, but since pg, I've not wanted him to go out, it's not because I can't go out and drink (I don't drink much anyway and I'm way too tired to feel like I've missed out on a night out), it just feels like I don't want him away from me. And then I look at it from the other side and think that's so bad of me to want to stop him Going out and enjoying himself. Pg hormones are tough eh?

jmac88 · 11/08/2015 20:34

Thanks lily it's nice to know others do feel similar.

b&w I think that is how I feel too. He usually says I should just meet up with my own friends but I don't want to really be with them. I'd like us to enjoy as much couple time as possible before we become a three. Hormones are so tough! I'm dreading him coming home this evening now. Think I'll have a bath to try to calm myself.

mrschatty · 11/08/2015 20:40

Jmac my hormones are awful I get unreasonable rage. I'm really trying to control it better.
missmartin wonderful news on baby girl how lovely!
I just went to visit a good friend and her baby first time baby girl so adorable! All through pregnancy I was convinced she was having a boy...just goes to show I know nothing...

Wynsey · 11/08/2015 21:16

Jmac - I am the same!! My DH has a very hard manual labour job & goes out one night during the week for a few pints. Then at the weekends sometimes a Friday but not always. But I still feel myself getting over-the-top annoyed. I want him to be with me too.
I'm so glad many of you are finding out the gender. The amount of people who ask if I'm going to find out then go "oh don't - u can't! Keep it a surprise!" No!!!! Leave me alone!!! Grrrrr

Had a look for an outfit for a hen night and two wedding receptions! I just don't know what suits me!! New Look has some lovely midi & maxi dresses for as little as £8 online!!! I think I'll buy a few just because!!

16 weeks today!! Grin

ValancyJane · 11/08/2015 21:29

black Glad the head was supportive, that's good news Smile

Miss Congratulations on another team pink!! And I do like the name you've chosen, very sweet!

Jmac I can understand feeling like that, a few times a week does seem like a lot. I think I'd probably not be happy with that many nights out either. But as Lily says both your lives will change so much when the baby's here.

Some old friends came to visit today with their lovely eleven month old son. I've been worrying a bit about how the cat will deal with a child, so was quite reassured that he was intrigued by my friends DS and just looked bemused and mildly upset when his tail got pulled! I think that bodes quite well.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 21:38

I splashed out on a dreamgenii. £20 off in TKMaxx. It arrived today, and now has a cat curled up in the middle of it. That's not what I intended!

lilyb84 · 11/08/2015 21:57

Valancy I'm totally intrigued to see how our two cats react to a small baby!! We've had children round before and mostly they hide/avoid them but it's going to be interesting when there's one here 24/7...

tinyme135 · 11/08/2015 22:12

jmac hormones are crazy too but up until yesterday never towards my OH going out. I always tell him to go and I'll stay in as I seem to be more tired now (thinking its the extra weight haha) but we said we'd go out on august bank holiday weekend as I've finally got a weekend off for guarantee and he goes to me oh we might have to cancel the plans as on the Friday I might be out with my mate for his birthday. I was like but we had plans and he went I know but it's his birthday so I just ended up telling his friend he'll be coming and I walked off and went to get a Krispy Kreme as I thought I needed it after not going cray cray on him.

lilyb84 · 12/08/2015 10:44

Anyone else had trouble using Mumsnet over the last 12 hours...?

I'm in full on maternity gear today, got some over-the-(currently very small)-bump jeans from H&M which actually fit - woohoo! Not sure yet if bump's noticeable to my work colleagues who don't yet know but happy to play with their minds if so... Grin

loveulotslikejellytots · 12/08/2015 10:46

Yes lilyb84 it's been down apparently! Back now for me, although I have had to customise my settings, it's hidden some topics I'd never hidden before.

jmac88 · 12/08/2015 10:59

Yep I've only just been able to load the page now!

SleepyDragon · 12/08/2015 11:00

Yep, couldn't log in on computer but can now get on, on my phone....

I put a dress in this morning, a proper maternity one rather than my usual skater dresses and it clings to my bump somewhat... DH reaction was 'Oh My, you're actually pregnant'

LOL

It was like realisation had finally dawned but he looked so happy I couldn't chastise him over the stupid comment lol!

ValancyJane · 12/08/2015 11:01

Ooh glad Mumsnet's back up, I was lost for a few hours there!

Just had my 16 week appointment and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat, was soooooo lovely, I could have listened to it all day! It was interrupted with a big crackle at one point - apparently it kicked though I still can't feel it yet. I'm reassured that it's still in there at least Grin

MissSMartin · 12/08/2015 11:09

Oh god! how annoying has logging on been! lol..
everyone at work knows I'm pregnant now..and keeps commenting on how small my bump is and how I'm 'glowing' I put it down to not actually being sick for 4 days Grin. . I slept for 12 hrs last night

brickiemum2 · 12/08/2015 11:36

Ooh, we're back

spydie · 12/08/2015 11:46

My bump has just exploded out of no where, gone from nothing to proper out there, bully button too! Finding it pretty hard to take too actually, and certainly not feeling at all attractive!

Constiption has also come back with a vengence :-( and I can't pee properly when I feel all bunged up! Feeling very stretched and uncomfortable this week.

On the plus side, our buyers from hell have finally agreed to move forward, we had to knock ?500 off the price to get to this point (they wanted ?3k but we said ?500, not a penny more, we had already told them once we'd put it back on the market), and we exchange tomorrow. Completing end of next week. Now need to pack the rest of the house up eeek!

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/08/2015 11:58

Sounds like I'm the only one who didn't get to hear the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appt Angry she said they're not supposed to in case they can't find it and it causes unnecessary worry, lucky if only heard it with the consultant the week before us numerous times at the private scans we've had!

20 week scan on Monday, only 5 sleeps Confused getting nervous now!

tinyme135 · 12/08/2015 12:00

My bump has finally "popped" I can see it past my chest now and I thought my chest stood too far out haha. Getting harder to hide time from the people who don't know still "/ trying to avoid OH work place haha .

tinyme135 · 12/08/2015 12:16

I thought I'd add a pic of my bump. I've never done it and you would mistake it as a podgy belly :)

Oh I'm 18+3 and find out a week today my babies sex.

Hooray sleepy for reduced BP Smile

And congrats on the girl missm!

Had terrible news last night from a friend who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer in her early thirties. She's also heavily pregnant Sad Not sure why I'm sharing, just really sad about it all. She had to push for a referral to a specialist for her unusually sore breast as obviously the doctors just thought it was a pregnancy symptom.
