Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 36th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 35th grads fred is here.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

sky I only have a singleton but have had similar fainting and dizzy spells. Some days I'm even dizzy lying down, as you have mentioned.

My blood pressure tends to be on the low end of normal though and has got lower since getting pregnant. It sounds like it could be the same for you.

The only thing you can do really is mention it to your doctor, and be very careful. Make sure you've always got a snack/water on you, and try a fan or water spray to prevent getting too hot.

It really does suck, so you have my sympathies xxxxx

gaggiagirl · 09/08/2015 13:08

sky try wearing tight leggings or tights or tight boots. Let your lower extremities be a little constricted. Also loads of water and salty food.

oneyorkshirepud · 09/08/2015 13:13

Sky I did feel seriously unwell at some points in the first tri, I described it as 'dizzy', but that wasn't exactly what it was... more like fuzzy and a COMPLETE lack of energy, to the point that I could not continue standing up. It was really bad after I had a cold and I spent two days in bed, couldn't even shower. However, I didn't faint at any point (although I've never fainted, so maybe I'm just not a fainter?) So I would say if you continue fainting then it would be worth seeing a gp, after all if you kept fainting and you weren't pregnant you would go to the doctors!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/08/2015 13:42

On the water. Craving dill pickles... Definitely lying down. Feeling a bit better but also bad for DD as they'll be going to the park soon and I don't think I can make it.

DS has GONE.
Repeat DS HAD GONE GrinGrinGrin

batfish · 09/08/2015 15:03

Aww sky I hope you feel better soon.

I am happy because work has approved my mat leave - finishing at 39 weeks for a week of annual leave and then 4 months off followed by 2 months part time before back to normal at 6 months Smile Sounds crap I know compared to UK but I'm only entitled to 3 months.

WouldRatherHaveCake · 09/08/2015 16:00

bat that's harsh, but glad you have some leave to take.

My work give the bare minimum so get 90% for 6 weeks then SMP, but our finances are different this time round so hoping to take the full 12m.

Feeling a bit blah today. Can't put my finger on why but feel "uncomfortable" I guess. Bloated and stretched or something. It's odd

honeysucklejasmine · 09/08/2015 17:31

I am self employed so no mat pay at all! We're hoping that we can afford for me to be a SAHM but we'll have to see.

oneyorkshirepud · 09/08/2015 17:49

Honey I was wondering about being self employed and future mat pay (very, very vaguely considering becoming a childminder, as in it has crossed my mind). Are you not entitled to SMP or SMA?

honeysucklejasmine · 09/08/2015 18:21

SMA yeah, but that's not much compared to what it would be if I was still in a school. Smile

gaggiagirl · 09/08/2015 18:22

pud self employed are entitled to maternity allowance.

oneyorkshirepud · 09/08/2015 18:40

Ah interesting, thanks. Yes Honey, you are right there!

batfish · 09/08/2015 19:16

Yeah there are many benefits of having kids here but the maternity leave and working hours are not on that list! Very jealous of my friend in the UK who is celebrating her little girl's 1st birthday this week and still has another few weeks off!

Purpleball · 09/08/2015 19:49

Glad they agreed it Bat Smile

I only get statutory too and have saved like mad so I can have the full 9 months off.

Self Employed should get maternity allowance - check direct.gov

LaLaLaaaa · 09/08/2015 19:53

Hi viroids!

Eek! I've missed about two weeks worth of fred - sorry. Things got a bit hectic with miniLa arriving and I never really caught up. Been too tired to follow trails of thought and trying to find time to get on laptop to write a proper post is difficult.

So - I promise to do better from now on. I've had a look at the stats - oh my god indigo I've been away so long it's nearly your EDD!!! How are you feeling? And you deeply? Not long to go :)

I'm currenty in hospital with miniLa. We managed a week at home and then out of the blue he went from being a perfectly health wee boy to a groaning, hot, lethargic little poorly boy. So I called GP who then sent us to the children's ward. Glad we moved as quickly as we did, as his temperature went from a normal 36.6 to 39 in a few hours. Very very scary night on Friday - I sat holding him whilst his eyes rolled back in his head and he struggled even to take the smallest amount of milk. I really thought we were in serious danger of losing him and it was terrifying. But like a trooper he started to take more and more milk, do more nappies and get back on road to recovery. He had a lumbar puncture yesterday and we're waiting on results from his tests, but he's responding well to antibiotics and they've said we can go home tomorrow. Hooray!

Just shows thought that you must trust your instincts! My mil and dh were both going 'he's fine, he's fine' but I really wasn't happy with how hot he was and he just didn't seem right.

Being a mum is fucking nuts!

I've never been so completely and utterly overwhelmed in all my life - both in terms of how much I love him and also how completely out of my depth I feel in terms of looking after this baby! He's so small and helpless! (albeit he is a chubster at 10lb 5oz!)

I haven't slept more than 3 hours at a time since the night before my induction (viroids - sleep while you can!), I don't remember the end of sentences and I can't remember the last time I responded to a text withouut having to leave it a few days and be reminded.

I'm about to write my birth story, so I'll get on and do that before the wee sausage wakes up and again demands to be fed. He's been cluster feeding all day today - I'm knackered and my boobs are battered. But it's a sign he's healthy again so I'm very grateful.

Hope you're all ok? Welcome to the newbies!

Oh and gaggia - I lost 2lb having the baby (gutting considering he was 9lb 10oz) but since then I've lost another 1 stone and 4lb (fluid mostly). My bump is of deflated balloon appearance - I'm hoping it'll tighten up slowly.

MollyBloomYes · 09/08/2015 20:00

Hello everyone! Bit of a catch up needed, we've been at fil's for a few days. Very busy, fish and chips on beach, lovely! Then DH ruined it when we got back by being a know over dinner. Suffice

oneyorkshirepud · 09/08/2015 20:01

La! We missed you! Glad minila is doing better and feeding well. With the build up to your labour, epic labour, looking after a new born and then going back to hospital, you must be beyond tired. Hope you are being very well looked after and that you are only in charge of feeding/cuddles. Big love.

MollyBloomYes · 09/08/2015 20:06

Grrrrr, posted too soon. Suffice to say, DS has almost certainly now learnt that if he tantrums enough daddy will make him a whole new and different dinner and mummy doesn't have to be listened to Angry now being very mature and passive aggressive with him. May strop off to the shower in a minute like a teenage girl.

La what a horrible time for you. DS was very ill when born and went completely unresponsive on day 3. I never want to relive that so you have my utmost sympathy. So pleased minila is being a trooper and hurray for going home!

Lots of sicky dizzy Viroids, take care of yourselves all of you Flowers

CarrotPuff · 09/08/2015 20:13

Oh La how scary, good to hear miniLa is getting better.

5hell · 09/08/2015 20:40

sky there are some breathing patterns which can help regulate bp, we do it in yoga......afraid i cant remember exactly what, but google should provide details

Wow la the fun never stops!!? Hope all is well asap!Flowers

picklethistle · 09/08/2015 20:42

Evening all!

Sorry to hear of so many dizzy Viroids, lots of water and snacks! I'm on the edge of dizzy but food and water seem to help lots!

Mad day here babysitting our friends DD over night, she is adorable although Iv been running after her all day and she had a nap on the way home. Currently watching back to back Charlie and Lola until she falls asleep. (first time at ours so she can have whatever she likes)

Hi la glad mini La is feelin better and you are getting to go home.

That sounds stressful molly I think I would be massively stroppy too DH is supposed to back you up!

Hahaha Iv just caught DH stealth napping on the babysitting job...bad form bad form!!!

Toast85 · 09/08/2015 20:47

la so pleased your little one is doing better, how scary for you though! You've really been through the mill!

sky hope you're feeling better, definitely get to the GP if it carries on.

bat great news about your maternity leave! Bet you're pleased to have that sorted.

thursday hope you're enjoying your date night!

Had a lovely day with DH and his family, good pub lunch and a nice little stroll in the sunshine. Sunday night blues now though :(

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/08/2015 21:37

LA glad to hear he is doing better! Hope you get some regular sleep soon.

molly what cheek! I'd be really quite cantankerous over that myself.

Thanks for all the well wishes viroids. I'm feeling a bit better after a day and a half in bed... Not looking forward to having to pull myself together to do some work tomorrow... Don't think anything unusual is going on, it is just much earlier than with DD. Yesterday's spells didn't result in actually fainting, as I caught myself each time

MollyBloomYes · 09/08/2015 22:01

We're talking again. I can't be arsed to argue and he's meant to be getting up with DS tomorrow, can't jinx that! I may bring it up with him...after my lie in tomorrow.

ThursdayLast · 09/08/2015 22:01

Oh la that sounds fucking terrifying.

Thanks viroids, we had a lovely date night AntMan followed by pizza Grin

Indigo I hope you're alright out there!
