so many babies
I was having sporadic contractions but everything has gone quiet now

Oh well I have plenty to do and am enjoying DS'S and not being at work

lucy5 · 10/12/2006 19:41

Just popping in to say hello, my inernet is still down. Congrats and good luck everyone I am ok, have infected csection wound. Will update soon.

Carameli · 10/12/2006 20:16

Hi all and congrats to Dublin and Beaker... I still have 6 days till due date and there is not much happening here. I sometimes get shooting pains down my thighs when I have bh's. Had some backache but never gets and more than this.
Even dd is gettting frustrated now(3yrs old) she has had her present ready for over a week now and keeps on putting it by the front door so that it is ready.

well must go and finish wrapping presents.

take care all, keep smiling if you can.

annaspanner · 11/12/2006 00:12

Thanks for the advice Olihan. Will be taking a good book and slippers in case they make me wander round. I managed to get in touch with my midwife too-I hadn't asked her before because I just assumed it wouldn't come to this-and she said something similar happens here but seems to think that the head might not be engaged yet and the cervix not ready, so they might skip the pessary and go straight to the drip...and if that doesn't work I might end up having a csection (just like Lucy in the same hospital).
Well, that's the worst case scenario anyway.
Dp has packed enough snacks to keep him going til xmas though, so we should be ok

spinasnowflake · 11/12/2006 13:16

Congrats DD,Beaker and Judem!!

SO !!!

Still pg.

In a really foul mood at moment. all the time I spend with DS seems to involve me telling him off..(He IS doing a lot of stuff that's quite naughty, but I'm usually more serene!)
Had some twines last night. Not ctrx, but lower pelvic ones like I was being stung in the cervix. Most bizarre. All I wanted was baby out, so I burned some oils and went for a walk in a gale!! Nothing to report, except very knotty damp hair! Felt I needed to have a bonk to get things moving but was in foul mood with DH too and really annoyed(unfairly) with him because I'd spent whole day keeping DS out of way of DIY(thusly spent whole day telling DS off and felt like the "Bad cop Parent".)

He's dropping some stuff off at the ILs today so I'm not having as much pinapple or RLT til he gets back. Beginning to get worried that he won't be around when(if) I go into labour.Main concern about that is more to do with what will happen to DS1 than my own needs to squeeze hands very tightly!!

Daisybump · 11/12/2006 14:13

Just wanted to wish everyone on this thread either congratulations or good luck (whichever is appropriate ).

I started off on this thread back in March/April, and had mc at six weeks, but I'm happy to report I'm now 14 wks and due 10 June next year.
Hope you all have lovely Christmasses and that someone else has been roped in to cook Christmas dinner!

indiemummy · 11/12/2006 14:14

hi, well done everyone with babies and good luck to those with bumps! i have a baby too, little girl Ivy was born at 10.30am on 5th dec 06 by c-section. all went fairly smoothly & we were home within 48 hrs. she is AMAZING, she just sleeps and feeds so far. i can't stop looking at her, she is the most gorgeous thing i've ever seen. Ds is very impressed with his baby sister and wants to help with everything and hold her on his lap - such a good boy. DP is totally besotted as well. Breastfeeding is agony this time though - cracked nipples - ooooh not nice! Have Kamilosan, hope it gets better soon! Well done again everyone! Xxx

lorie · 11/12/2006 14:38

Thanks for good luck wishes.

Daisybump, very pleased for you!

congratulations. xxx

TheOlihantheIvy · 11/12/2006 15:42

Well done and congratulations to Satinshoes (beautiful pics!) and indiemummy - we were wondering about you on the 5th!

Nothing to report here, nothing at all. Grrr.

Where's BM today? I think she's either in labour or in the local nick because the MIL pushed her too far . Hope you're okay BM and that it's the first option!

Devongirl · 11/12/2006 15:59

Wow been going through the thread and all I have missed for not checking for the last week! Congratulations to all the mums on here - I am very jealous

Even though I am not due til next Tuesday I was convinced I'd be early and had the 10th in my head, and DH said the 11th, so we gave ourselves a stupid false deadline, and now I feel annoyed. I know he'll come out when he's ready but seeing the pics of beautiful Erin Rose, and all the news of the other babies is just making me more and more jealous! But then again I am going to miss being pregnant so I am trying not to wish it away TOO much

I have heard you'd have to eat 7 pineapples for it to make any difference but has anyone experienced different?

Been down on my hands and knees cleaning today because I was told that would help, but nothing so far!

Good luck anyone who is iminent!

Calmriver · 11/12/2006 17:13

Carameli · 12/12/2006 11:14

Hi all,

cograts to all those that have new babies here, the photos are SO cute, makes me want to meet my lo so much.

Daisy, thats fab news from you. I had a mc at 7wks last year so remember it well how nervous I was with this pregnancy, but everything has been fine. Well apart from the fact he won't come out a few days early for me

Spina, I know exactly what you mean about heartburn. I woke up last night, similar time to you and had awful pains across the top of my stomach, thought it was just wind or something at first but did not go away so called midwife who said after few protein glitches that I should come in and get checked out again, arrrrggg. So got my SiL to meet us at hosptal to take dd(3yrs) and we went in to be monitored. Eventually they decided it was severe heartburn!!! still feel achy today and so so so tired, poor dh had to go to work as he is running a whole load of projects at the moment and today was going to be busy anyway.

Dd has just come home with SiLso we are going to have a chill out day today.
Still cannot beleive that heartburn can cause so much pain. The sooner this one is out the better.
So feeling sorry for myself today but will try to keep smiling. especially when I see all these cute cute cute photos.

Carameli · 12/12/2006 11:15

oops meant congrats

MardyBum · 12/12/2006 11:59

Congratulations to all the new mummies , and lovely to see the gorgeous pics of your babies.

Well it's my due date today, but nothing's happening . Was convinced everything would kick off overnight, as my parents were staying, but nothing doing, and they've left now. Was five days late last time round, mind...

spinasnowflake · 12/12/2006 12:49

SOOOOOOO bored of being pg!

Want baby!!!!!

Turning to Ebay to eliviate tedium. NOT a good move.

annaspanner · 12/12/2006 13:00

Congratulations to Indie and Satin!
I'm back from hospital but with the baby still on board! Spanish beaurocracy! We arrived early yesterday morning and were told the hospital doesn't really agree with indcution at 41+3, normally at 41+5/6. But they examined me and saw I was dialated to 2 cm and thought it wouldn't be long and that I should stay. So we spent a day sharing a room with happy parents and their newborn-lovely, all 3 of them!- and a constant flow of visitors(at least 20)which made the room hot and meant we had no privacy. The last lot didn't leave til after 10pm. I was so tired but no real contractions. Then after midnights, the baby really started crying and there were complications, a lot of people in and out, and the baby was put under observation and the mother was given a tranquilizer. Talking to them this morning it really sounds like it isn't anything to worry about but they had a long birth followed by too many visitors and were just exhausted. SO beware of too many visitors! Maybe it's all different in the Uk.
We were told this morning that not much was happening and that they recommened waiting and putting off induction till Thursday. They said we could wait there or go home, my choice, so here we are at home, where we can make a cuppa, sleep in a room without someone else's (gorgeous but loud)newborn and walk outside. Heaven!!!!
All the staff were great and the hospital is wonderful(apart from the room sharing)-I feel so much more relaxed about imminent birth now!(even though the LO is now 3.6kilos-yikes!)
