Thanks Rufus, very helpful link.

Haquoi, delivery by Stork would be ideal, although I don't fancy waiting in for it to arrive.

MayFlowers16 · 06/08/2015 20:44

Stocking I'm so sorry you're going through such a bad time. Flowers Maybe he will come to his senses now you have made a stand against it. If he doesn't then it's totally his loss and you've made the right decision to step away.

Sal1977 · 06/08/2015 21:32

Haquoi, I'm self employed as well and health depending am only looking at being able to afford 4-8 weeks off (even that is going to be a struggle). MA is £130 odd a week. I have to pay £100 a week in rent for my treatment room. The milky bars certainly ain't gonna be on me!! Lol! Confused

Rufus200 · 06/08/2015 22:54

Andy and Kim Murray are having a February 2016 baby too!

birdbrain21 · 06/08/2015 23:22

Ahh just need a vent. My sil has just come from abroad to visit the family and was bringing me a bag of maternity clothes all really good quality stuff from expensive shops that I was really looking forward to having more then one top to wear. We're going to see her tomorrow and just found out another family member who's notorious for tidying things away that people want got the bag confused with another one and has chucked it out! I'm so annoyed I really wanted the clothes and she put some toys and books in there for dd as well that I was looking forward to expanding the same few things she always plays with. in total there was probably nearly £ 200 worth of stuff in it so I think this is more pg rage. Dh is going to talk to them they can definitely afford to give us some money so I can buy some clothes for me and toys for dd, I hope this doesn't sound spoilt but I am so so so annoyed right now!!!!

Littleoakhorn · 07/08/2015 07:07

Shock Birdbrain I hope this other family member is properly embarrassed! I bet your SiL is fuming too.

haquoi123 · 07/08/2015 07:57

Morning!! sal your post gave me the courage to look up SMA and think I will be eligible, thanks! Do you have to keep your rent going even through the maternity leave? It sucks doesn't it? I think 2-3 months is my maximum otherwise I'll lose all my teaching. I'll go back after the Easter holidays.

rufus do you reckon she's here?

birdbrain that is So annoying, I feel your irritation! We have a family member like that; passports, train tickets, cheques, credit cards, have all ended up in the bin at times!

Stocking sorry to hear what you are going through.

I'm having an angry morning today. I'm annoyed with my DM. She was on the phone to me last night and she was telling me she met some neighbours yesterday (who I hate by the way as they're nasty pieces of work) and she was telling them x,y and z and also that I was pregnant and that they said typically stupid and unpleasant things in response (which is typical for them but I'd rather not know about it). The things she was telling them (x, y and z), are totally private, AND I had specifically asked her not to be telling random people about the pregnancy as it's still so early. The other stuff I would have thought she would have the common sense not to say anything and I wouldn't have to explicitly say it!

I was very annoyed with her on the phone and pulled her up on it so she knows I'm pissed off but I don't know whether to bring it up again or drop it. She's otherwise the kindest and most caring person - she's just a gossip. She's like an open book and tells everyone everything about herself whereas I'm very private, which I think she just doesn't "get". I'm the queen of vague answers (and I'd just blatently lie to the likes of these neighbours) but if someone asks her something she just blurts it all out! I know she tells my aunts every single thing and I sort of let that slide but why she has to tell neighbours that we don't even like is beyond me. Her excuse last night was "but everyone's going to find out anyway". I just said "x, y and z might not even happen and until then it's none of their business". I didn't really pull her up on the pregnancy thing as I'm starting to show now anyway so it's a bit unreasonable asking her to keep it a secret when the neighbours might see me going in or out of the house.

Anyway that was an incoherent rant but I'm not sure whether to drop it now or just tell her again not to be telling everyone my private business. I love her to bits and I don't want to upset her or fight with her but I'm just so pissed off. I'd normally let things like this wash over me as I have enough stress in my life so the pregnancy hormones could be playing a part!

overreactionemoticon · 07/08/2015 09:25

Wrote a really long post yesterday then lost it.

Clara I was hoping to work up to Feb half term when I thought I'd be 39+2 but at my scan yesterday they changed edd so I'll now be 39+5, not sure now.

Stocking so sorry for you. Xh was an alcoholic (abusive too) and it is so so hard to live with. Even without the abuse I couldn't have stayed much longer, not with the DC to consider.

Scan yesterday was amazing, never had such a good scan before. Saw baby sucking it's thumb and trampolining around. Dp couldn't believe it when he saw how much it was moving, especially when he saw it using it's legs to push off the sides and ping out of shot etc. I think he thought they were just kind of lying there static til much later.

Got some really good pictures but I don't know where he's put them to upload one.

Nuchal measurement was 1.9 but have to wait two weeks for full risk to come back.

Definitely more excited having seen the baby but wish I'd stop being sick.

birdbrain21 · 07/08/2015 09:30

This wasn't even the bin I would have just taken it out was the dump! I've calmed down a bit overnight but still annoyed will see what they say when dh mentions it later.
how's everyone else feeling? It's nearly the weekend Smile

MayFlowers16 · 07/08/2015 09:52

Ah, you've got me Harquoi I AM Kim. (Not.) Grin

clarabellski · 07/08/2015 09:54

Oh dear Mawsy...

Its difficult to change the way your mum is, but perhaps you could try an experiment with her. You could tell her something (real or made up) and say something along the lines of 'I am telling you this in confidence and I ask that you can tell NO ONE, not even your husband etc, it is not your secret/news to tell' and see whether she keeps the secret. If she doesn't keep it, then sadly I think your only option is not to tell her any secrets that you do not want out in the public domain. This is sad because you would hope to be be able to tell your own mother a secret and have her keep it. However, hopefully you have other friends/family in your life that you would be able to share a secret with if you need support with it. Flowers

overreaction our scan showed a little footballer as well! They were kicking away the sonographer's scanner where it was pressing down. Surprisingly cute!

Birdbrain here's a virtual cup of Brew and a Biscuit. What a buggering arse!

MayFlowers16 · 07/08/2015 09:55

Angry On your behalf bird and Mawsy.

Great to hear more good scan news Over

I got my combined results back yesterday. 1:65,000 which I am thrilled with.

Rufus200 · 07/08/2015 10:13

maswy I have a mum like that too, I just have to filter what I tell her. I asked her not to tell anyone I was pregnant the day I got my BFP as it was too early, in under a week every person she knew had been told! I had people I don't even know congratulating me as I walked down her street!

I am looking after the puppy version of the child of Satan! He isn't toilet trained at all, yesterday he peed on the sofa so the whole thing had to be washed and dried! Just now he knocked my scolding hot tea over my lap, I have burnt girl bits and the sofa is soaked in tea. I could cry and my mum has just told me if I think this is bad wait until I have a toddler!!! He is adorably cute (see pic) but an absolute monster!

Mawsymoo · 07/08/2015 10:25

Thanks girls, it's not like it's "secrets" she's spilling as such, just stuff that is going on in my life that I'm very private about. I'd say she thinks I'm "odd" to be so private and I think she's a blabbermouth so we'll probably never see eye-to-eye on it. She's 70 so she's not going to change. I'm not going to argue with her over it but I might just remind her that not everyone needs to know everything about me and that if someone asks "How's Mawsy?" it's perfectly acceptable to just say "fine thanks"!

Rufus that puppy! He's the cutest thing ever!

clarabellski · 07/08/2015 10:35

Sorry rufus I shouldn't laugh but your comment about burnt girl bits made me giggle! I hate puppies, they make it impossible to be angry with them! So cute!

If anyone wants a laugh today I recommend reading this gem of a thread:

I have done about 20 minutes work today so far and spent rest of time reading this Blush

NoMontagues · 07/08/2015 11:59

Ugh birdbrain and mawsy how annoying. Families, huh?

As for mine, it's DS's first birthday today and we're having a tea party later- my dad can't make it cause he has a lunch thing Confused (party is at 4.30). Er, ok, cheers dad!

Were jubilant today in the Montague household as DS, who has been a bit slow to get going movement-wise, has finally mastered crawling this morning! A nice birthday present to himself Smile

overreactionemoticon · 07/08/2015 12:01

Here's my scan pic. Is actually much clearer but my camera is rubbish.

Tea any guesses on gender?

teaandcake2016 · 07/08/2015 12:24

That is a cute pic! I think a little boy!

teaandcake2016 · 07/08/2015 12:24

Is baby sucking their thumb in the pic?

RattyCatty · 07/08/2015 12:49

Lovely pic overreaction I think a boy too!

clara that thread is hilarious! Made me laugh out loud. People are nutters. Sex coupons?!

BananaRaces · 07/08/2015 13:55

Had scan this morning, took the poor ultrasound lady 3 long attempts to get the baby into the right position (baby was upside down with legs in the air to begin with)! So I had to keep going for walks or jigging up and down to get it to move. We were there for hours going in and out of the ultrasound room! But, in the end the baby was measured at 12 weeks and 5 days (which moves my due date forward by 2 days to the 14th). The nuchal was 2.6 which I gather is the higher end of normal, have had bloods done as well so we'll have to see with that. Right now I'm just so glad there IS a bouncy little babban in there and I'm not imagining it! Grin

clarabellski · 07/08/2015 14:27

Yay more scans! Congrats overreaction and banana! And another valentines baby!

I know ratty. Bring him a plate of cookies at work!?!?

RattyCatty · 07/08/2015 14:43

Lovely pic banana Smile I was told an active baby is a good sign! My nuchal was 2.7mm and was told that's the higher end of normal but I'm focusing on the 'of normal'

clara erm well I obviously do that already! Who doesn't?! Haha Wink

overreactionemoticon · 07/08/2015 16:15

Yeah that's a thumb sucking pic :-)
Two of my friends have said boy too.

Banana yours is lovely too, glad you got it in the right position eventually.

There seem to be loads of us due on valentines day now!
