jelly I haven't bought anything yet! I will probably wait til after 20 weeks to start. I might buy the odd bit of clothing before then if I see anything nice.

Jen2104 · 02/08/2015 12:04

Lol Brummie that is so funny. This is when I know I'm hormonal cause I enjoy the peace and quiet if DH is out but if he's at all late, he's gonna get it! Especially is he's out drinking with our friends and I can't go cause I'm a terrible liar about why I'm not drinking!

Fortunately he is very understanding but I do get the feeling I'll pay for it at some point Wink

StockingFullOfCoal · 02/08/2015 12:15

brummie I'd be furious too.

jelly We have our 12 week scan on Wednesday, assuming everything is fine we will start buying things from this week coming up. I've already picked up a few irresistible clothing items from h&m.

Our local independent baby store offers 0% interest payment plans, so we're ordering the pram from there (going for a Quinny Buzz Xtra, in the Novel Nile colour way... DH just wanted a green pram and I've spent the last 7 years up to my eyeballs in Dorel baby products, so I know my way around them.)

I found my BT digital baby monitor, my Groegg and the Grolight a few days ago so they've gone away in a drawer, the cot bed is in pieces under our bed where its been for the last 2.5 years, just need new mattress and bedding for it.

Cloth nappies are the first thing on my list that I want to buy. I've spent hours reading up and watching YouTube videos.

I slept a lot better last night but I still feel hideous, can't stray far from the toilet, which is annoying because I wanted to take DDs Geocaching this afternoon after our roast.

DH is off to his families for a BBQ, for once DDs and I were actually invited (don't even get me started, I've not done anything to them but they just refuse to include DDs and I in anything, do they think DH will just take DSS and baby when he/she arrives?! URGH!) but I've declined due to being ill. Plus I am not comfortable around any of them. When we announced PG in December, MIL and SILs were all over me, then we had a MC and not one of them asked if I was okay, and we announced the new PG to them 5 weeks ago and not oce of them has contacted me directly, so I don't exactly feel like socialising with them. Probably just being hormonal and petty but I just CBA.

birdbrain21 · 02/08/2015 14:53

For those of you who don't mimd leaving things till later I'd wait till winter sales to buy the big things. With dd we looked around so we knew what we wanted but then didn't buy till winter sales (she was born april) and we saved loads of money. Also if you join boots parenting club they send really good money off vouchers (or they used to!) We bought our mamas and papas buggy from the boots website in the sales using a voucher and saved nearly £100!!!
We don't need much this time unless it's a boy as saved everything from dd but will definitely pick up a few cute bits when I see them. Won't get anything like crib till nearer the time though as don't have space to store it

RattyCatty · 02/08/2015 15:44

jelly being a worrier we are going to wait and see if all is ok at 20 week scan before buying anything. If all is well, like the idea of January sales? Does anyone know if there's usually baby stuff included?

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. I'm off to Cornwall tomo where the forecast is rain - typical when it's so sunny in London! :)

Mawsymoo · 02/08/2015 16:35

I don't have much to buy this time but I will need something for the baby to sleep in as DS will be in the cot for another while, and also some sort of double buggy. Last time around I waited until close to the end and even then only bought the absolute essentials - the shops will still be there afterwards and I found I had a better idea of what I really needed once baby was here.

I'm 14+6 today and feeling quite uncomfortable. I've started showing this week and I've had lots of cramps and stretching pains so there must be a lot going on. I might try a warm bath later to see if it helps. Most of my nausea is gone which is much earlier than last time, but I'm still feeling really exhausted.

How is everyone else?

Rufus200 · 02/08/2015 18:57

Mawsy I've also been having lots of very intense stretching pains, sometimes a couple of times a hour, other times a couple a minute. Also feeing very uncomfortable, with more of a pot belly then bump.

Been to the toilet twice today, actually did a happy dance afterwards, it was such a relief! Managed a pub roast today with DH and then we went for a long walk. I was struggling and DH said just wait for 6 months time when you can barely move! Nausea is still rearing its head at times.

Brummiegirl15 · 02/08/2015 19:08

Hah I'm glad I'm not the only one who would go mental at the no texting. Nothing wrong with a late night,( he rarely does a v late one) and I remember falling in at 4am wistfully.

It was the no message to say he'd decided to stay out in a cheesy club.

But he was so rough yesterday Grin hah serves him right. We went out for a really good friends 50th and I said he had to get back on it as it wasn't our friends fault he'd decided to booze it up 2 nights in row

I'm mean Grin

Had my first sickness today rather than just feeling rough. In the loos in Tesco Envy nice. It couldn't be in my own nice clean loo could it?

Got my consultant appt / cervix scan tomorrow (fanjo cam alert!!!!) Sal I've already been told it a clexane the whole way through. I've found rubbing the skin just before the injection has really helped. It obviously warms the skin up and it's definitely helped the bruising

Slowing down they cyclogest has been ok. Been on 200mg once a day on alternate nights for last few days from originally 400mg twice a day so will now see what consultant says.

Hope everyone else is going ok. I've been asleep for 4 hours on sofa today so basically Sunday has vanished.

Will let you all know how cervix scan goes - it's because I've had 2 x lletz procedures so interested to see what the scan shows

RattyCatty · 02/08/2015 19:16

Good luck with the cervix scan brummie!

mawsy same for pains and stretchy feelings. 14+3 today. Also got a tiny bump.

I do want to wait until jan sales but feel it's tempting fate buying the big things that late. I wish I'd bought the nursery furniture set i had seen before but oh well. Maybe there will be some bits in thr Xmas sales

clumsypots · 02/08/2015 20:51

Does anyone inject clexane in their thigh? Just wondering if this would be better than my stomach as it is full of bruises and scar tissue under the skin so I can't do it without bleeding and lots of pain at the moment. The consultant said I can ask the midwife to show me how to do it on Wednesday.

Brummiegirl15 · 02/08/2015 21:30

Clumsy not me yet, but the instructions for the clexane does say it can go in the thigh - but I would defo check with midwife

Sal1977 · 02/08/2015 22:18

DON'T DO IT Clumsy!!!

I did for the first time last night and FUCKING HELL ('Scuse the French) that shit is not funny!!

Even though I have fairly fat thighs, it's really hard to pinch fat and not muscle and it seriously hurts when it goes into the muscle. Tonight I moved further round my hip to give my tummy a rest. Here's a tip: do it before you take your bra off as my giant oversized friendly boobs were totally trying to get in on the action!!

Good luck with WillyCam tomorrow Brummie, say hi from me! Grin

Brummiegirl15 · 02/08/2015 23:09

And I'm never ever injecting in my thigh!!!! Sal has sold it incredibly well to me.

Grabbing the tummy fat all the way.

clumsypots · 03/08/2015 00:25

sal I think that may be the problem I don't have much fat on my stomach so it is going straight into the muscle and I have very little in the way of boobs so they don't get in the way. Do you reckon I could inject in my bum, plenty of spare fat there! Grin

haquoi123 · 03/08/2015 05:57

5am nose bleed and subsequent musings. At least I've got my scan this morning.

Best of luck with your scan brummie. I've got the willie cam (love it sal) end of next week to see if cervix is behaving. What are illetz procedures?

brummie, clumsy & sal, the injecting sounds really painful and difficult! Sorry you guys have to go through that.

I'm not buying anything until January sales. We have a moses basket and hand-me-down baby clothes that my mum stored (she was amazing and cleared the house of all baby paraphernalia before we came home) and I'm probably just going to use the pram research I did last time. Not counting my chickens until I absolutely have to though.

I'm another who's having a scan today Haquoi. Feeling nervous about it, as part of me still thinks this is a huge joke that my body is playing on me and that there's no baby there at all.

RattyCatty · 03/08/2015 07:09

Good luck haquoi and isla let us know how you get on!

Brummiegirl15 · 03/08/2015 07:27

Haquoi have copied and pasted what a lletz is

In the UK, large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ) is the most common treatment for abnormal cervical cells. LLETZ is also known as loop diathermy, loop cone, loop biopsy or loop excision.
The “transformation zone” is the junction between the skin on the surface of your cervix and the delicate tissue that lines the birth canal at its entrance. This is the area where the majority of abnormalities occur and is where HPV creates changes to the cells.
LLETZ can be carried out at the same time as a colposcopy and involves removing the area of the cervix where abnormal cells are. This is done using a thin wire loop that's heated with an electric current.

So I've had that done twice!!!! And it has caused lots of scarring so always been told I will probably need a c section ( having that conversation today) but also where it removes part of the cervix can leave it very vulnerable so you get scanned to see the cervical length when pregnant.

As for the injections , in the tummy they actually don't hurt. It's immediately afterwards they sting a bit. Although if the needle is a bit blunt for whatever reason it can be a bit sore.

And whilst I'm used to doing it, I never get used to actually seeing the needle go in to my skin. Always makes me flinch

BadgieBear · 03/08/2015 08:05

Good luck with your scans today haquoi, brummie and isla - and anyone else who is up today.

Lovely scan news from charlotte and happy too!

Tiredoftiredness · 03/08/2015 08:30

Good luck for today all xx

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 08:36

good luck for scans!

RhiPea · 03/08/2015 09:30

Eeeep! My turn today too- at last get to find out if my lack of symptoms is because I've just been lucky or not. Working on this 'comfortably full' bladder now...Hmm
