Hi everyone, our scan last Thursday went fine.

The baby was curled up on its side with its back to the scanner (if it could speak, I think it was saying 'f*ck off, I'm still sleeping' - takes after its mother then!). But the sonographer got me to do a rather suggestive dance and it wiggled round to an OK position for getting checked out. They amended my due date to 8 Feb which now appears to be the most popular date on the stats spreadsheet! I've also updated the sheet for others who posted requests over the weekend and added a new column for 20 week scan date:

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dWmvdD9SkvPQqKn7rpFHazgufmda2FOTMtL093cZFj8/edit#gid=0

We've told parents (who have then told everyone they know) but not telling work yet as haven't worked out what I want in terms of maternity/return to work and I'd like to have a rough idea before I speak to my boss about that (I've only been in the job for 10 months). Will probably tell them just before 16 week check up as that will be the start of all of appointments requiring time off.

Plan to tell friends as and when it comes up in conversation (or more likely, when they see me getting fat).

Good luck for all the scans today

BananaRaces · 03/08/2015 09:49

Good luck to all those with scans today!

My nausea, which has been quite a lot better over the last few days, is back with a vengeance this morning. It's been joined by a very upset tummy and a runny nose. Bleurgh! I'm also totally knackered at the moment (slept for over 12 hours on Saturday and STILL felt tired). Which is rubbish because we're trying desperately to finish doing our house up before the baby arrives and I'm next to useless at the moment. Poor DH and a succession of very lovely friends/family are doing all the work and I have been relegated to bacon sandwich duty!

We're going to be getting a lot of our baby stuff from BIL and SIL, their youngest is 2 and they have been very kindly keeping stuff in their loft for us. Anything cheap which we don't get from them we will be getting after the 20 week scan. We'll probably get anything expensive in the January sales.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 03/08/2015 10:07

Fab scan Clara

And how weird haquoi I was reading yesterday that nosebleeds can become common around this time - I hope it wasn't too unpleasant.

Good luck to everyone with scans today Flowers

Rufus200 · 03/08/2015 10:12

Waiting nervously for my panorama results, I've already called them but apparently the only person that can let me know is on the phone, so don't know if it has failed again!

Rufus200 · 03/08/2015 11:12

Finally got my results- all clear, risk now 1 in 10,000 which is a lot better then the 1 in 640 from my scan!

Also I am now on team blue! Got 6 months for it to sink in that I'm having a mini version of DH including the fact that they both will be aquarians! We already have the name picked out but have decided that until we get past the 20 week scan we won't call baby it.

NoMontagues · 03/08/2015 11:25

rufus - congratulations!!! Smile

So glad the Panorama worked this time and now your mind is at rest.

Welcome to team blue!

RattyCatty · 03/08/2015 11:36

Rufus that's brilliant news! Super happy for you Smile Eeek a baby boy! So exciting!

clarabellski · 03/08/2015 11:39

That's great you've got peace of mind Rufus Flowers

OH and I are still at the silly baby names stage, not sure when or if we'll graduate to actual names. I hope we do or the baby will be getting called Spartacus or something...

Boobear1983 · 03/08/2015 11:42

Congrats clara and rufus.

I'm having a new boiler fitted today. The noise I can cope with, but not having running water ie a toilet is an issue. My neighbours weren't in so I just had to drive 7 miles to my parents for a wee!

BananaRaces · 03/08/2015 11:42

Yay Rufus, lovely news! Smile

Stepawayfromthezebras · 03/08/2015 12:08

Fab news Rufus Smile

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 12:10

fab news rufus bet you are chuffed :) and yay for team blue! It's 6 weeks today until my next scan, can't wait to find out what team we are!

haquoi123 · 03/08/2015 12:20

clara we also had a sleepy baby. A couple of jumps, then hand on its face, then it turned over and started cuddling it's placenta. Cute thing. All is good! We didn't have the downs screening but she said the nuchal looked normal. 13+2, due date 6th Feb. They took such good care of us as well - I've got two more scans booked in before the 20 weeks in September just to check all is well. I'm currently in love with the NHS and my consultant is definitely getting a card and a massive bunch of flowers at the end of this!

brummie thanks for the info - that's a lot to have gone through. Are they looking after you well? How did the scan go?

zebras I've been having nosebleeds since I got my bfp!! A big one about once a week and then evidence of smaller ones daily. The big ones usually happen at night - you'd think being more relaxed would help... :s

How have other scans gone today?

Yay haqoi fantastic :) great little scan pic. I've been impressed with the NHS so far too although my care has been very routine so far.

Weirdly my morning sickness is ramping up again, any else got the same

haquoi123 · 03/08/2015 12:35

Thanks jellypi. I've been having day-on, day-off ms, driving me nuts. And the bloating is worse than ever.

Also congrats rufus!

Brummiegirl15 · 03/08/2015 12:59

Yay Haquoi that's fab and great news for you too Rufus

Just got my downs letter back. 1 in 1100 which I'm really pleased with!

Midwife told me I was 1 in 150 and scared shit out of me, so really chuffed with that result.

Just on way to hospital now for cervix scan and consultant appt. will report back later!!!

peggysue82 · 03/08/2015 13:04

Hello all. Am 12 weeks today (yay!) Just popping on to say hi as haven't had much chance to come on lately what with holiday, work and constant queasyness. Am finding it much easier to keep up with the FB group as its a bit slower and sends me a notification each time someone posts so I tend to be over there a bit more. Wink Lovely to hear of all the scans...got mine on Wednesday...literally can't wait.

NoMontagues · 03/08/2015 13:24

Congrats haquoi ! Fantastic news Smile

And brummie that's fab news too.

What a busy day you're all having. It's a bank holiday here in Ireland and I'm currently in bed having a post-lunch rest while DS naps Blush

clarabellski · 03/08/2015 13:31

jelly I felt yucky yesterday but OK today. It seems to come and go but there's definitely more good days than bad days now.

Wow haqoui that is a really clear pic. You must have been bursting for a wee! The sonographer told me my bladder wasn't very full. As she was squashing me with the scanner I begged to differ but she said 'even a small amount of urine feels like your bladder's full when you're pregnant'.

By the way, I am wearing new maternity tights today (M&S in case anyone wants to know brand) and THEY ARE AMAZING! Also for the tall ladies I bought the large and I have 35inch inside leg and they are long enough. I am going to wear them all the time whether pregnant or not. They're great for post-lunch bloat! Fab pic Haquoi and so weird about the nosebleeds Confused Such strange things our bodies are!

Rufus200 · 03/08/2015 14:59

haquoi lovely pic

jelly I very nearly threw up at the building site today, I think it is the humidity here. Feels very warm but like it is trying to rain!

RhiPea · 03/08/2015 15:28

So turns out I've just been a very lucky girl with no symptoms! Here is my little tad (has it's dad's long legs by the looks of things!) Had a little wriggle & wave then had a stretch and turned over!
