Just popping our heads round the corner to let you know that we've just launched a discount for our brilliant one-day event, Bumpfest - 15% off the standard ticket price!

There'll be advice from some great speakers - including Andrea Grace on sleep, Stuart Heritage on becoming a Dad and Beth Graham on writing your birth plan - and all sorts of workshops and skills sessions, including baby first aid. Drop in for a couple of hours, or stay all day - completely up to you! All you need to do is just enter 15ANG in the promo code box on this page - we'd love to see you all there!

Loving the scan pics ladies (Waves at Carlton's little one)!

Good luck to everyone having their scans today. I've got to wait until a week tomorrow to have mine! It just seems so damn long!! I should have booked an early scan...

Cake and Brew for pog, montague, jelly and all those who are suffering with colds. I have woken up with a sore throat this morning, so I may be joining you soon... but I hope not (crosses fingers and touches wood). I would like to recommend lemon and ginger herbal tea with a big dollop of honey in it, garlic is also very good (although not in the tea).

Newest symptom for me is really frickin annoying - I've had almost perfect skin pretty much ever since I got my BFP, but since the beginning of this week I am COVERED in spots. All over my face, chest and neck. It's really very attractive... I hope to goodness that this is an end-of-first-trimester thing and will bugger off in the next couple of weeks. I will not be impressed if instead of the "glow" you're supposed to get in the second trimester I just get covered in spots! Angry

NoMontagues · 30/07/2015 10:08

Thanks banana ! My skin is shite too- not spots as in acne but rosacea on my cheeks with bright pink mini-spots covering the apples of my cheeks! I've always had a bit of redness off and on, but this is much more aggressive and came on on about day one of the pregnancy!

Hopefully just pregnancy related and will go afterwards. Another thing I've noticed is a lot more white hair, I imagine that's permanent though Sad

Thanks chloemumsnet Smile

jen I've been a hermit for the past few weeks as I can't face the lying, my friends aren't suspicious about me not drinking as they knew I was knocking it on the head while waiting for an IVF appt in August but I've not wanted to have to dodge questions and hide my bump.

I have a night out with my bestie planned for tomorrow when I can tell her all about it one way or the other, can't wait!

And good luck to you, it must be a nerve wracking place to be

Rufus200 · 30/07/2015 11:48

Good luck for all the scans today!

Acne sufferers - I have found that mixing 1 part Epsom salts to 2 parts water and then dabbing onto the acne with cotton wool helps dry the skin out and get rid of the bacteria! Has greatly helped all the spots on my back, boobs and neck! Also been good on my forehead but has been to strong for the ones around my mouth and my eczema has flared up.

Cold sufferers - I've been putting neat eucalyptus oil all over my shower floor and walls before I turn the shower on. Creates lovely eucalyptus steam that has been really good for unblocking my snuffles. Supposedly cinnamon and honey infusion will help a sore throat.

I took my 1st dose of lactulose before dinner last night, expecting it to be horrendous but I actually liked the taste, just very sweet. It had an unexpected positive side effect which must have been due to the fact it pulls water to it, so stops your body peeing it all away. I've been drinking a large glass of water before bed, then 2 in the night and needing to pee 3-4 times. Last night only 1/2 a glass and 1 pee! If the lactulose stops my excessive thirst and peeing then I will be taking it every night!!!

hi everyone

just want to say thanks for all of the support over the last 11 most terrifying weeks of my life you have all been fab, especially some of you who have had some pretty rocky journeys with pregnancy up to now Thanks

just had my 12w and the measurement of that fluid thing was 5mm so obviously pretty dam bad, in fact there is a bubble of fluid around the whole baby so its not looking good...

being transferred to another hospital now for more bloods, scans and poking/prodding etc but safe to say either i am going to miscarry or baby is going to have such a severe disability we will probably have to make a tough decision.

i wish everyone the absolute best of luck with all your pregnancies and will dip back in in february to see photos of the little beans!

Carltonlives · 30/07/2015 13:20

I'm sorry primary Flowers

Rufus200 · 30/07/2015 13:31

primary I read a huge amount about nuchal measurements yesterday, you definitely need more tests as not all high measurements mean something bad. I don't know what the bubble signifies. Hope they can give you some answers at the hospital. Will the NHS give you a harmony test as your result was high? I know some NHS areas are doing free trials.

jellypi3 · 30/07/2015 13:43

so sorry to hear that primary Flowers I hope you get the answers you need soon
