Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Sorry to hear of concerning scans Rae and Chandelier - hoping for lots more good growth.

Today I got my swab results. After 2 internal scans that worried me, episodes of spotting, no real pregnancy symptoms I find I have both thrush ( no symptoms of it) and Group B Strep. Obviously googled GBS, finding not only can it cause problems for a new born baby but can cause problems in pregnancy meaning no newborn baby. GP said they ignore it until delivery but having had one stillbirth I am now ultra anxious and it is going to be an even longer 3 week and 1 day wait until havthe next scan.

Anyone hear have GBS in a previous pregnancy?

MayFlowers16 · 17/08/2015 20:31

Sorry Rooibos I don't know anything about GBS. Surely they will keep a closer check on you though now?

Rae and Chandelier I'm sorry you're both having to go through this. I really hope you both get a good outcome.

RooibosTeaAgain · 17/08/2015 22:05

It was a GP who did the swab so think will call the hospital as I have no community midwife currently and dare not risk waiting until 12 weeks just in case. I have a suppressed immune system so was always at higher risk. Was not swabbed with my stillbirth so no idea if GBS was involved then, though know that was not the cause.

Pannacott · 18/08/2015 07:18

Rae and Chandelier, so sorry that things are not looking good. Hope you have space and support to process things x x

LastOneDancing · 18/08/2015 08:37

rae and chandelier I'm really sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. Try to stay calm and keep posting if you want to talk or vent Thanks it's not fair that these stresses happen when it's something do precious and important Sad

Rooibos, I don't know much about group B strep but also heard that they tend not to treat until birth. I think I will be asking for a swab too this time around, it's crazy to me why it isn't done as routine in the UK.

Lots of Brew to everyone suffering with symptoms too at the minute. I'm currently struggling with very tight work trousers at only 9 weeks - cake or bloat? Could be either...

Trinpy · 18/08/2015 09:54

Sorry to hear you had bad news from your scans Rae and chandelier. I really hope your follow-up scans are more positive Thanks.

chandelierswinger · 18/08/2015 13:29

Thank you for your kind thoughts. It's bad news and a goodbye from me. Best of luck with your pregnancies ladies Flowers

hufflebottom · 18/08/2015 18:38

So sorry for people's bad news Thanks

ThursdayLast · 18/08/2015 19:08

Brindler · 18/08/2015 19:25

So sorry ladies ????

LastOneDancing · 18/08/2015 21:47

So sorry chandalier Thanks

Raeside · 19/08/2015 08:53

So sorry to hear that chandelier - I'm sure I shall be joining you soon enough. I am hoping that nothing happens till next scan Wednesday next week, and then I plan to turn up at my EPU and demand a surgical procedure, assuming the scan doesn't still show a heartbeat. All very grim.

Fingers crossed for happier times for the rest of you. I may lurk but not post much till I hear further news.

So sorry Chandelier, that's really hard Flowers.
Crossing my fingers for you Rae

Haven't been around much, so hard to keep up with MN and the January bus is especially mental. I honestly don't know how the 2nd timers put up with us last time.

We will be finding out the gender - 3 weeks to go.
I wish I could afford a doula. Trying pregnancy yoga this time to see if it helps.

Sunny whereabouts are you based? I'm in Fife. Been loving the Edinburgh festival despite the crowds, what little I've been to anyway.

hufflebottom · 19/08/2015 15:14

I told dd the other day. She has written a list of everything baby will need.

LastOneDancing · 19/08/2015 17:31

Is she excited huffle?
Anything interesting on her list?!

SunnyL · 19/08/2015 19:27

Hi Lutrinae - I'm Midlothian so kind of the opposite side of Edinburgh to you Wink

LCR77 · 20/08/2015 09:36

So sorry to hear this chandelier I hope you're getting all the love and support you need from loved ones.

Hoping for good news for you Rae try and rest as much as you can

Got my 12 wk scan tomorrow and pretty petrified. Having had a previous MC and my sister a MMC at 12 wks I just want everything to be ok so I can relax.

LastOneDancing · 20/08/2015 10:13

Good luck LCR - I hate scans. Mine is 3 weeks away and im starting to think about it more and more.

I'm nervous that I don't seem to have symptoms at all except very occasional nausea and it feels like I'm pooing pine cones Sad my boobs might be slightly bigger but that's it.

LCR77 · 20/08/2015 10:22

Thanks Last my only consolation that something must be growing in there is I have an almost-to-difficult-to-hide-it bump and my boobs are becoming ginormous and ridiculously itchy (prob due to growth!)

LCR77 · 20/08/2015 10:23

Doesn't stop the worry though...

hufflebottom · 20/08/2015 11:23

LastOne, it was quite a sensible list actually a cot, high chair, toys

She forgot the nappies and bottles but it was a start

SunnyL · 20/08/2015 19:04

Urgggh so bloated Sad

hufflebottom · 20/08/2015 19:10

Brew Sunny. It's a horrible feeling. Find your most comfortable clothes and crash out in them.

hufflebottom · 22/08/2015 21:48

Hi all. Hope you're all well

SunnyL · 23/08/2015 07:57

How did the scan go LCR ?
