so after yesterday when midwife said there was 0 chance of an early scan based on anxiety, i have begged and borrowed and booked in for a scan today at 8+1... hopefully i can join you other ladies whove 'met' your healthy wriggly beans! Smile

monkerina · 01/07/2015 10:06

Fuck me, we saw a heartbeat! The sonographer measured at 4mm so 5+4 to her, which is about 5 days off my reckoning, so will ignore that for now. Everything looks healthy and happy, EPU have told me to bugger right off and not return.

Hope Purdie and Boo's news is good too, and thank you for the good wishes/keeping me sane!

Spanoo · 01/07/2015 10:07

Can I ask a weird question: I have a strange situation as my sister is also pregnant and about 6 weeks ahead of me. At the weekend we had a family gathering for my mum bday and she told everyone there and they were so hyped about it! Which is great, but I haven't told anyone yet apart from my sister. I was trying to disguise my unusual behaviours (not drinking and eating everything). Don't know how my mum is going to take it all! Oh so my question was, have you told your families yet and is it weird that I haven't felt able to tell my mum?!

Zookeeper73 · 01/07/2015 10:07

Jellypi, tmi is too much information.

Lovely scan pics, hope to see some more after all the scans today :)

Purdie, I'm the total opposite, my sex drive has gone awol :( Maybe its the bloating thats the problem, I'm that uncomfortable

Spanoo · 01/07/2015 10:10

@Monkerina that's great news! Good luck @primarynoodle :-)

IslaMann · 01/07/2015 10:13

Great news Monk!

Purdie and Nectarine keeping everything tightly crossed for you (tho if I'd have kept me legs crossed in the first place we wouldn't be in this position!)

Pagerty, another oldie! I'll add your stats for you if you let me know what they are (location, due date, dc#)

IslaMann · 01/07/2015 10:14

Good luck to Primary too (sorry, missed you out Thanks)

Stepawayfromthezebras · 01/07/2015 10:24

Great news monkerina

Glad I'm not the only one spanoo though I can't even stomach the thought of fish at the moment, I've bought loads of tins of mackerel and sardines but they're all completely untouched and I'm just mainlining the creamcrackers

And I've not told anyone yet, I'd feel better about telling my friends rather than my mum because I really don't want to get my mum's hopes up in case anything goes wrong but we've decided to just not tell anyone. Great news about your sister, it must be very exciting for both of you Smile

Spanoo · 01/07/2015 10:31

Thanks stepaway, that makes me feel better actually. Yeah I'm the same, I don't want to get hopes up, and also would feel awkward if something went wrong, especially bearing in mind that my sister is also pregnant. It is exciting, but it's also a weird dynamic.

Makeral and sardines are a good idea but I get what you mean, it's hard to eat things that you're not not feeling like. I guess if you want oils you could try nuts or seeds? Seeded Crackers??!

OpposableThumbs1 · 01/07/2015 10:39

Hello, please can I join in?

I'm due on 22nd Feb. I already have a 4 year old DD.

Nectarines · 01/07/2015 11:25

Had my scan and all looked good!!
Little jellybean with ha measuring 7+3 which is exactly right!

They couldn't explain my spotting but said not to worry about it!

12 week scan five weeks today!

Am going to try and relax a bit now! Phew!

Zookeeper73 · 01/07/2015 11:26

Yay, Nectarines, that's great news!

purdiepipesup · 01/07/2015 11:29

Hurrah for heartbeats! Me got one too! Grin

jellypi3 · 01/07/2015 11:35

Congrats on the HB's! Did anyone get a cute picture of their bean?

zoo I know, I was joking Wink

IslaMann · 01/07/2015 11:37

Hurray for Purdie and Nectarine!

Happy dance Grin

monkerina · 01/07/2015 11:38

Yay Nectarines and Purdie! Just Boo and Primary to confirm now, is that right?

No pics here, in my hospital you have to buy your ticket for a pic before you go in and we don't dare after the first time of discarding a sad unused ticket... and not sure they offer them in EPU rather than normal scans anyway, ticket machines are in the regular pregnant lady area!

Spanoo · 01/07/2015 11:43

Hi opposable!! How are you getting on? Congrats!

Exciting hearing about all these lovely scans.

Nectarines our 12 week scans will be on the same day. Smile these weeks can't go quick enough! I have been feeling SO irritable lately! At work a lot, and even towards random strangers on the street!

primarynoodle · 01/07/2015 11:49

yay purdie and nectarines! Today is good news day for all i hope :D what time is yours boo?

just been swimming and now sat on the floor in the changing cubicle unable to move im so dizzy and faint... not sure what that is about! probably the weather!

IslaMann · 01/07/2015 11:51

Monk Boo had her scan yesterday, all is well.

OpposableThumbs1 · 01/07/2015 11:56

Hi Spanoo, it's not feeling very real at the moment. I am soooo knackered though. I am supposed to be doing some freelance work from home today and I have so far managed 15 minutes since 9:30.

Is there a stats thread anywhere?

Cheers Isla, losing the plot here. Gorgeous pic.

Welcome newbies! Stats are here >> stats

purdiepipesup · 01/07/2015 12:53

Ooooo, Isla! You're having a turtle! Mine was a chicken nugget last week and this week it looked like one of those weird alien-headed whales. Last wk it measured 18mm and this wk 27. It was waving its stubs! Another scan next Wednesday...

Spanoo · 01/07/2015 12:58

Well done for going swimming primarynoodle

opposable I am also trying to work from home (completing my doctorate this summer) but not getting very far! It's so hard to work 1) in this weather and 2) when there is all this to ponder over!
