Lol frolic sounds like my dp usually but his surfing is reliant on wind so he doesn't always get chance to go out.

Crikey I have been in the worst mood today! Literally wanted to bite everyone's head off. I have been awful :( my sister and auntie are up visiting as well so I should be in a better mood than I have been. It's like really bad pmt!

Friend is still going on about this babyshower. This time she said I should treat her to afternoon tea for all the effort she's putting in for it. I have bought her a gift which she doesn't know about yet but it's still a weird thing to say. She's supposed to be my best mate and she has three children which I help her out with ALL the time so I can't understand why she has to go on about it all the time. It's taking all the excitement of it for me. Certainly won't want her doing anything for me again if I'm gonna have to owe her my life forever.

So despite this, I really hope I have a great time tomorrow. Don't even like being made a fuss out of anyway or people to go out of their way for me but I just thought for once it would be nice because I've wanted this baby forever. Never thought it would cause such a hassle though. I'm sure it'll be a brilliant day though.

So sorry for whinging on here about it, I must sound like a right moaning Minnie.

Joskar yey for 18 degrees and warmth up in your neck of the wood! Hope your bowels improve soon. I only sat in the sun briefly and could feel myself burning. If I sunbathed properly I bet I'd be able to get the best tan I've ever had haha. Normally takes me ages to tan.

Dozy, that's crap that you're feeling like that. Try and enjoy today and spending uninterrupted time with your mates/family. Is there anyway that you're mate is being 'tongue in cheek' and maybe it's just a miscommunication rather than being plain old arsey? Either way, let it go over your head.

How blooming hot was it yesterday? We're down south in Wiltshire at the moment and it was easily mid 20's and sunny yesterday. We had a great little day out to a food & drink festival thing, so sampling lots of cheese and ice cream flavours. It was a day for a cheeky cider though, I was jealous of everyone else supping in the sun - next time gadget!!

I should really make the most of the sunshine as we're moving to DH's motherland soon and the sun is not well known for making regular appearances - yup, we're moving to Scotland! ????

And yes bra extenders are AWESOME!!

Sorry I can't reply to all, but my brain has just gone 'bleurgh' as to what I've just read!! Arghh pregnaesia is a real pain in the arse!!!

I'm 36 weeks today, only one more week and she's official full term and it's game time! Still have a few more bits to get such as a baby monitor - anyone got any recommendations for one already?

Enjoy your shower today dozy. Ignore your friend. I bet she's stressing herself out with the organising and will be fine once everything is underway and going well.

I know exactly what you mean about a cheeky cider mzzf! Hopefully we'll all get to have one before the end of the summer.
36 weeks!! OMG!!! How exciting, you are nearly at the finish line.

Happy Sunday everyone. I was going to wash my e-bay baby bargains today, but it's raining. Another lazy day for me!

Just thought I'd pop in- it's been so busy lately haven't had time to post but been reading!

Not got time to reply to everyone so just quickly-

Dozy- your friend sounds like she's been being a right plonka re your shower- hope it goes well today!

Mzzf- can't believe you are a week off full term that's scary, I'm 3 weeks off and starting to get very real! Met a friend for lunch yesterday with her 5 weeks old- not seen her since she left on Mat leave and it was strange seeing her not pregnant with baby in her arms after being so used to seeing her pregnant! Not exactly scared but can't quite imagine baby actually being here still- perhaps because I still don't know whether I'll be bringing him home to our current or new house! Fingers crossed new but still unsure- can't be bothered going into it but I'm trying to think positive and have started packing with that in mind- perhaps I shouldnt have just dismantled the spare room double bed on my own though- knackered!!

Frolic- enjoy your lazy day!

I think I best go get some lunch and a shower- the dust under the bed in the spare room was unbelievable and as I couldn't do a lot of standing/ leaning over/ lifting I just sat in it dragging stuff round me!! Then might have a well earned rest and start a book my friend has lent me!

Enjoy the ends of the weekend guys x

Well after all my moaning my friend did a brilliant job today at my shower. It was a lovely lovely day. I think maybe she's just been a bit stressed about life in general lately and I've been a bit of a grumpy bum but the day all went perfectly in the end.
Loads of people came, the food was amazing, the games were all good. I was a walking hot water bottle and looked like a whale on all the photos but it was worth it.

Now it's time to get proper excited that I'm having an actual real life baby! Sometimes i still don't think it's hit me that life is gonna change forever.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Mzzf I can't believe you're 36 weeks! So close now! I'm not getting a baby monitor for the moment so don't have any recommendations. I reckon I'll be able to hear baby cry in my house but I may change my mind. My mum's old school and thinks it stops u listening out for baby and sleeping deeper but I don't agree with her about that lol.

Morning all! How is it Monday again already?!

Thanks for all the bra extenders suggestions! I did actually buy some from ebay a couple of weeks ago and have been using them, but discovered that the problem is not the back size so much, just that my bump seems to stick out horizontally directly under my boobs, so no matter what the underwire digs into it.

dozy glad you had a lovely shower in the end, looks like little bubba has been truly spoilt, how lovely! How many people came? I'm trying to work out what I think is a sensible number!

mzzzf oh my gosh only one week til full term, that's crazy! I have been getting more and more excited lately about meeting little one. I can't wait until he's here! I've been given an angelcare ac401 monitor, which has good reviews I think.

I did a bit of housework on Saturday as it was just too hot to leave the house and DH was at work. Felt good to do something useful for a change and now my hip isn't so painful I thought I'd make the most of it! Also put the cot up on my own (so proud of that fact!) and washed baby's clothes and muslins. Now picking things to finish off the nursery (bunting, pictures etc) so I'm quite excited!

Really dreading the 32 degree heat this week. With an hour drive to and from work everyday in a car with no air con, I can't see this being a fun week at all! Also got my whooping cough jab Wednesday, so no doubt a dead arm for the rest of the week!

Hope you all have a lovely start to the week!

Went to work this morning and was promptly sick so have come home. Had a wee chat with the Dr and she reckons it's exhaustion causing the d and v. They checked my iron and seemingly I have low iron and low b12 in spite of the tablets and pregnancy vitamins. I am tired but I wouldn't have said abnormally exhausted. It's normal to be tired if you work ft, pregnant, bf a toddler, have a toddler Etc...no? Anyway stupidly googled low b12 Shock. Not good. Dr thinks injections are a good plan. Anyone else having these?

Hi everyone, I've only read the first post but wanted to reply quickly to Joskar and then I shall catch up.

I have vitamin b12 injections every 8 weeks. I've been on this for a couple of years now and it really helps me. I certainly know when my injection is due as I feel washed out and everything is an effort. Before I was on regular injections I was picking up infection after infection as I have a neurological condition that effects my immune system. If there is anything you would like to know, feel free to ask.

I've been able to carry on with the injections all through out my pregnancy with no problems. My next one is due 2 weeks before my due date!

Off to catch up with the thread. Hope your all okay x

Dozy - I'm glad you enjoyed your baby shower. I keep sitting in the nursery and trying so hard to picture my little girl in her room! It's starting to feel so real. Just can't wait to meet her now. 34 weeks on Wednesday!

Mzzzf - I haven't got a baby monitor so haven't got any recommendations. I haven't decided whether to get one or not as I live in a bungalow. I can't believe you are 36 weeks! It's so exciting.

I'm struggling to sleep at the moment and it seems to be something different keeping me awake each night! If it's not waking up to go to the bathroom, it's leg pain, the heat and last night I had such a bad headache and my legs felt they were on fire. (Although that's my medical condition and not pregnancy related). I really could do with a good night sleep. Anyone got any tips?

Has anyone else been feeling sore um down there? A couple of weeks ago I felt like the baby was pressing really low down and almost as if her head would pop out! The midwife told me her head was at brim. The pressure eased for a while but I've been feeling it again the last few days. My bump has dropped really low too. If it drops much lower it will be touching my knees!

Despite all my moaning (sorry for that!) I love carrying my baby. Can't wait to have her in my arms now. Can't get over how much love I feel for her already!

Really hope everyone is keeping well xx

Pinkie I hear u with the bra problem. Extenders helped a little bit but definitely the wiring is a problem for me because of wear the bump sits under the boobs. I jist don't wanna buy anymore bras so living with the discomfort. So I don't really understand why it's best to buy nursing bras before you have the baby because surely once baby pops out the bump will go down in that area and then the back size will be completely different? So it ses pointless to get measured now. Or maybe they'll take that part into account. Who knows. Bra shopping is and always has been my least favorite past time.

Joskar hope you're able to rest a little bit although I know that's difficult with a little one already to look after. Sounds like claire has covered the b12 advice for u .

Pinkie 9 had about 30 people turn up for the shower, had invited 36 and there were a few children too so it was quite a good number. I would have liked it to have been more intimate so I could chat to everyone more but I have different groups of friends and didn't want to leave people out so it ended up being quite a few people. The place I had it was perfect for that amount of people though so it all worked out well.

claire my bump seems to have gone the opposite way now and has gone higher. It's always been quite low. A couple of people on the Facebook group have low bumps and one girl has been having a lot of pressure really low down, similar sounding to u.

Carpet has been fitted so now I can sort furniture out and get cracking with sorting through all the stuff I've been given and figure out exactly what else I need to buy. It's all very exciting. It's been so nice having the weekend off and now I've got another 3 days off. I could quite happily just not go back to work now! Only this week left though so it's very nearly over anyway.

Every weekend once I finish is booked up.with different activities though so think I'll be grateful for the time off in the week once this week is over. And then soon enough our babies will be here and they'll be no more relaxing!

Joskar · 29/06/2015 16:04

Thanks Claire. I suppose the low iron is maybe prolonging the tummy bug. I've had a few bugs this pregnancy. That perhaps explains it.

Dozy I'm so pleased your shower went well. How lovely to have all your friends celebrating like that. You must have felt very loved.

Monitors: we don't use one even yet because we have a small house but bear in mind that you don't really have the baby out of your sight for the first wee while anyway. I don't know anyone that had the baby in a different room for the first month anyhow so there isn't a rush. There's lots on the market so might be worth seeing what you need/how you feel first.

Bras: ditch the underwire. Hell I don't even have underwear with wires and taking my bra off is the best part of my day!

Joskar, I hope you soon feel better, and that they are to sort the injections out soon.

Dozy, so pleased to hear your baby shower went well. It looks like you got some amazing presents.

I can't spot who originally asked about baby monitors, but we got a Lindam video monitor for when we started putting DS1 down in the evenings. We didn't have anything to begin with, as we kept him with us for the few few months. I lived the video function once he went into his own room, as I could see whether he was fully waking up and I needed to go in, or, if there was any chance of him self settling. Although I can't compare it to anything else, it was reliable and had a pretty good b&w image, so I'll happily be using it again. My friend swore by the Angel Monitor which sets of an alarm u the baby stops breathing, however, she's had several false panics as a result of it.

Wow, it scary how close some of you are to full-term now. I'm only actually four weeks off myself, although DS1 was a week late, so if he's anything to go be, I could easily have another eight weeks to go (but I'm not thinking about that). I'm focusing in my EDF and thinking baby will be here in just under seven weeks - no sooner and no later Grin.

I'm planning on just getting some Emma Jane sleep bras prior to going birth. I think the whole 37 week thing assumes the bump has dropped enough to get an accurate band measurement, but I found the bra I bought last time were soon a bit big in the band. I'm figuring I can (hopefully) get out in the week or so after baby arrives and get something better.

Sweaty hellos to you all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I got a couple of baby bargains today, couple of sale outfits in m&s and also gro swaddles in TK Maxx for less tha half price – I do love a bargain!
Another NCT class tonight – this one covers breastfeeding it's an hour longer than usual and DH is not particularly looking forward to it, silly moose...i'm really hoping I can bf, but weirdly i'm getting more freaked out about than labour at the moment...

So glad you had a lovely baby shower Dozygirl!! Looks like you got spoilt rotten :) I bet you do not look like a whale in the photos you silly thing! Did the party bags turn up in the end?

Pinkie - Tip for the whooping cough jab– get it in your right arm so you can still sleep on your left (if you are trying to sleep on your left that is!)

Glad your placenta has moved Siani any word on the diabetes testing?

Frolicacid – 'drama lama' is my new favourite saying – I'm totally stealing that :D hope you enjoyed your strawberry lemonade today!

mzzzf – My gosh, can't believe you're nearly full time! This is so exciting!! You must be one of the first to pop :) Also speaking of cider, I fully recommend the Koppaburg alcohol free ones!

Joskar – sorry to hear you're feeling poorly still, glad claire could offer some good advice

clairexxx – sorry to hear you're not sleeping. Mine is really hit and miss, I either don't sleep a wink or am in the deeeepest sleep ever. My tips are minimise 'screen' time before bed, i.e. no phone/ipad and secondly wee as much as you can before getting into bed, read for a bit, then get up and wee again then try and sleep, that's working for me at the moment.
My bump hasn't dropped but the pressure I had last night was like i'd been kicked up the crotch which was so uncomfortable. My baby is still lying horizontally majority of the time though so i'm hoping it was because she's trying to turn – wishful thinking? :)

I hope the packing is going well lily. I love your positive attitude - moving house is so stressful. I think I'd be hiding under the duvet if I needed to think about it at this point!

I'm so glad the shower went well dozy. It sounds like you have lovely friends and it looks like baby was suitably spoilt. Enjoy your time off. It's so exciting getting on with sorting stuff out.

Glad your hip pain is better pinkie. I've also been washing baby clothes this weekend. Seeing them all out on the line made it all start to feel very real.
The bra thing really is a nightmare. I've given up on underwire as my bump has been really high up from early on and it was really sore. I hate the sausage tits look the soft bra's give me, but comfort has to win. I'm lucky that my sister is a similar size and gave me loads of her old bra's, otherwise I dread to think how much I might've spent trying to get comfortable.

I hope you're feeling better jockstar. I have no idea about the b12. I'm anaemic and have been on iron tablets for about 3 weeks now. The difference in my energy levels has been brilliant. Hopefully they'll do the same for you. My only tip is to eat plenty of prunes.

Sorry you are struggling to sleep claire. I'm not doing too bad on that front at the moment. I haven't had any pressure down below either - yet! My baby seems to like lying sideways at the moment and making me feel like my bump is going to burst open. I am feeling very, erm, sweaty down there and the discharge is excessive to say the least. Such a glamorous time is pregnancy!

How did you know I'd made it to maccy d's today fanby!! The lemonade was just what I needed as I had an hours drive and it's got very stuffy here!
Glad you got some good bargains at tk maxx - it's so satisfying when you find something good!

All the baby monitor talk is really useful. I think we're going to wait a bit until he's sleeping in a separate room. I do like the sound of the video ones.

I hope everyone's had a good Monday. I met with my boss today to sort out my final annual leave and mat leave plans. It's all feeling so real now!
I've also realised that this will be my last full week for a long time. A great thought to chase away the Monday blues Smile

Fanby hope u enjoyed the breastfeeding class and your dh didn't get too bored by it. Party bags never arrived but company I'd ordered off had had a bereavement so said they'll refund me. Still not arrived even now!
By the way you are so thoughtful in your posts, u always remember everyone and have something to say to everyone. Just wanted to say that u come across as a very lovely caring person.

Had a fairly relaxing day today. I've found everything to be quite exhausting today for some reason so had to take a break every 2 minutes before I carried on doing what I was doing. I did go for a long walk to the shops though to try and not be lazy but that knackered me even more.

Is everyone thinking of getting a chair to put in nursery for feeding in? I hadn't really thought about it before but now I'm wondering if I should have one. There's plenty of room for one but not sure if it's a waste of money.

Off to Google emma Jane sleep bras now lol.

Glad to hear the shower went well dozy, baby must have lots of lovely things now.

Mzzzf we have a Motorola monitor - just sound and a room thermometer (and lullabies which we don't use as sooo annoying!). It's more than enough for us.

Hope the NCT breastfeeding class was useful (sorry I forgot who that was!) - I remember first time round ours was useless so hope it's better! Sadly I have lots of bf problems so not expecting an easy ride this time again.

Any top tips for staying comfy when sleeping on your left? My left hip gets so sore lying on it constantly!

X-post dozy! We've had a nursing chair and do still use it every night, but in the early days I used to feed in our bed since DDs slept in Moses basket in our room. First time I used to go into the nursery to feed to let DH sleep but gave up on that and wanted my comfort by the time DD2 arrived!

Hope everyone had a good night sleep.

Dozy, my hubby bought a nursing rocking chair with a footstool as I was getting back ache earlier on in the pregnancy. It's so comfortable and lovely to relax in. Even my hubby uses it!

Joskar, the b12 injections should help with all the bugs. I used to dread the winter months as I would pick up infection after infection and would take me a good 4/5 weeks to recover. Last 2 winters I have had bugs but only took a week to feel better.

Fanby, how did the NCT class go? I'm not breast feeding as I need to restart medication once baby is born. I did feel quite awful about it but my doctor told me I need to think about myself so I can keep well to look after baby.

Thank you for the sleeping tips. I had the worst sleep last night! I had about 2 hours in total. I was actually tired but the dog was crying to go outside and did nothing but eat grass and then I could not get comfortable! Fingers crossed I sleep well tonight!

It sounds like your baby could be trying to turn. That's how I felt and then the midwife confirmed she was head down.

Frolicacid, isn't it just glamorous! I've been experiencing the same as you and now have a lovely heat rash on the top of my legs! It makes it really sore to walk but I've been prescribed some cream so I hope that helps. Apparently it's due to the extra blood flow.

Panpipe, I use a body pillow to sleep on my left side which has really helped with the hip pain.

Hope you all have a lovely day and manage to stay cool! xx

Dozy Yeah I think when you get measured for nursing bras the plan is that bump has dropped a bit by then. Not sure though! I wish I didn't have to wear a bra at all. Having my boobs squished together all day with a wire digging into my bump in this weather is just unbearable!

I bought a Tutti Bambini nursing glider on ebay for £40. Not paying £150+ for one! But it's lush and I can't wait to use when we move bubba into the nursery. DH loves it too.

Fanby I hope the BF class went well, we have our first NCT this week and I'm a bit apprehensive! Hope we have nice couples. Super jealous of your bargains too, I really want some Gro-swaddles, how much were they if you don't mind me asking? I may head to TKMaxx! Thanks for the whooping cough tip! However, I struggle to stay on my left, and just turn back and forth all night! oops!

Frolic thanks lovely. It's set to hit 28 I think, so I'm dreading the drive home, but office is air conditioned so can't complain too much! Everyone loves to sit outside for lunch on days like this at my work but I will be camped out in the canteen watching the tennis I think! No chance I'm going out there unnecessarily! Hope your last full week is going well!

Claire you must be bloody shattered! I really feel for you, it makes the days so much harder when you're tired. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. I am up in the night weeing and crampy but manage to get back to sleep fairly quickly so feeling lucky there.

panpipe I can't stay on my left for love nor money. I switch between left and right side all night and even on my back occasionally. I hear if it was a problem I'd feel discomfort which would force me to move, so I'm not too bothered.

Equimum I'm the same. I'm nearly 32 weeks so have 8 weeks to go, and refuse to register the fact that he may be up to two weeks late! Let's just hope all the babies arrive precisely when they're meant to!

Joskar ditching the underwire just makes my (now huge) boobs look awful! and even more squished together!!

Good luck in the heat today ladies, drink lots!

Report
Joskar · 30/06/2015 10:32

I'm still bf so wearing Hot Milk nursing bras. No underwire but enough support not to give you black eyes.

I also went two weeks over last time so I'm mentally adding two weeks on to my date. Longest two weeks ever!

I've been using a body pillow too (second hand dream genji off eBay). Definitely helps and I don't worry about which side I'm lying on. Sleep is more important.

I also had masses of problems getting bf started last time. I'm thinking that as I've been through everything on the list it might be easier this time. Mind you two at the same time will be a challenge! My mum didn't bf me but she did my siblings so I think it's a case of every baby is different. Have you a bf support group near you? There's nothing here but I'm told they are really good. I'm on a Facebook bf support group and it's very useful. I don't know many other women who breastfeed so it's been nice not to feel like a freak!

Pinkie I ditched the underwire MONTHS ago. I tried on loads until I found one that didn't make my boobs point in opposite directions. I wore my underwired bra for the baby shower and it was hard work, so uncomfortable.

I have a 'Baby cafe' around the corner from me, which I am hoping will be really helpful when I am feeding. My friend told me that BF will be hard, but if you know it will be hard, but will get easier, then it is easier to deal with. Rather than hoping it might be easy.

Had 4 hours sleep last night so I am feeling amazing today as you can imagine. I am being sent for a growth scan as bump is measuring small and has crossed a centile line. Not sure when it will be, just awaiting a phone call from the antenatal clinic to see when they can fit me in. Anyway between that and the redundancy (I have my personal consultation today). I feel pretty stressed... and hot.... my colleague turned off the A/C again......... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go on the sick.... but there is A/C here, at home I would just eat ice lolly's all day
