Forgot to say, Jupiter glad your scan went well.

I'm going to call midwives tomorrow - well I'm going to try, the numbers online are a little confusing as none say community midwife! I just need to get things booked in.

My dog is being a little bit more into me recently - he usually follows dh around in the mornings but recently has just stayed by my side.

I have two boys (10 & 8) and their birthdays are in July - so we are hoping to tell them when the harmony results are back - I have the test on 22 June, so hopefully the results will be back in time for a special birthday tea in our favourite restaurant. They will be very excited - the eldest loves his younger baby cousins, and won't care about the sex, whereas the little one has already told me (many times) that only a boy will be acceptable!

Looking I may have to, thanks for that!

Anyone else on the 10wk mark feeling a really heavy tummy today?!

brickiemum2 · 16/06/2015 18:10

Yes sleepy felt like I was hiding a bowling ball in there today lol.

SleepyDragon · 16/06/2015 18:12

Oh good, not just me lol! Thought I was actually waddling at one point lol!

AlohaMama · 16/06/2015 18:12

Hi all. Sorry for those still feeling crap. ready that journey home didn't sound too fun. Amazingly I've actually been feeling much better these last few days so I'm hoping the worst has passed. It helps that I'm on holiday with my parents and haven't had to do any cooking, but even managed to prepare shellfish dinner tonight feeling fine. I'm 10+3.

bee I told my 4 year old son. Yes excited but I think even if we miscarried we'd have told him. He knows our friends had a mc recently because we prayed for them with him. He does occasionally say, he hopes the baby in my tummy is OK and doesn't die, but even if we lost it he'd be sad but would quickly forget, being so young, but I figured he'd want to know why mummy was sad. Plus I've had to explain why mummy has to lie down, throw up, not play etc. 2 yr old doesn't have a clue. She doesn't have the understanding.

Pugmumlondon · 16/06/2015 18:39

kep and fisherman well nice to know someone's dogs are being nice! Mine has gone off me completely! Almost sulking. OH thinks I'm overreacting but she's acting (even more) spoilt than usual and is incredibly needy and demanding.

mama and kep so exciting for your little ones - what lovely news for them! I remember mine and my siblings response to my baby sister... "Another one?!" Hmm Blush

mrschatty · 16/06/2015 18:42

Yaaay wonderful news on the scans today ladies xxx

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2015 18:59

Edgar I'd call. When I did they told me they had just changed to a new system, directed me to a webpage where I had to fill in all the forms again and email them. Then I got an email with a date for my booking appointment the same day. God knows whether I'd have got one if I hadn't chased.

Pugmumlondon · 16/06/2015 19:07

I just got home to my 12 week scan appt letter! End of week 12 - so I'll be 12+5 and its on a Saturday so no having to take time off! Win!

Poe - definitely call. Still no idea when my booking appt is but assume at some point soon given scan...

babybabynamechange · 16/06/2015 19:19

Left it too long to catch up with the new thread and now it's too long to read it all!

Sadly had to travel to a family funeral abroad at short notice this weekend so told my parents about the twins as morning sickness has been quite bad and I didn't want to worry them. My MS is now (perhaps unsurprisingly) quite a lot worse than my previous singleton pregnancy. I'm 9 weeks today, hoping it won't last much longer. Yesterday evening and today I had had some hip pain, am preying that it is just because I overdid it at the weekend - lots of walking and went for a 5k run - never had hip pain with DS .

Lookingforadvice123 · 16/06/2015 19:34

pug you don't have to take time off for scans! Your midwife should've told you that, your employer can't ask you to take holiday/unpaid leave/flexi etc to attend scans, you have a right to attend. I think it's on the NHS website, but my midwife told me.

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2015 19:48

I'll be booking half days for my booking appointment and scan because I don't want to tell my employer yet.

Pugmumlondon · 16/06/2015 20:04

No I know - I just don't want to declare it yet! Planning to tell my boss at 15w. I've only been there since May so that's going to be an awkward conversation....

Lilliana · 16/06/2015 20:21

I'm not sure about telling DD - she doesn't know about the mc but will have to come to scans so will find out then. Not sure how she will take it as she has suddenly become very funny about me being with other children - no you my mummy, I want a cuddle with mummy not baby. She's only 2.6 so not sure if this is a phase or she knows something is up!

I got co2 tested at my booking in and it came out a bit high! No idea why but a bit worried now. I've been referred to smoking something (can't remember the name) but neither DH or I smoke so not sure what they're going to do. Also had my name passed on to the mental health people due to depression a few years ago - lots more tests and refering going on now compared to my previous pregnancy.

babybabynamechange · 16/06/2015 20:30

I won't be telling DS until I absolutely have to. He came with me to both early scans but I just told him 'the doctor needs to look at mummy's tummy' because 'it's sore' and sat him in the chair beside me with a film on the iPad and some chocy button and he didn't fuss. Even 3 months is an inordinately long time for a toddler, I think a month is long enough for him to get used to the idea though I imagine the size of my bump plus getting stuff ready for the babies plus other people talking will mean he know way before that.

brickiemum2 · 16/06/2015 21:23

Lilliana, how high was your co test? It can be effected by traveling via bus etc, standing on busy streets, faulty boiler in your house etc. Mine was 2 and I got questions several times about it lol. I'd travelled by bus which stunk of exhaust fumes plus I'd had to switch buses and wait 15 minutes on a main street full of traffic. She decided that was probably the culprit since I have co monitors in my house.

Lookingforadvice123 · 16/06/2015 21:40

lili how high were you on the co2 test? My midwife said they allow up to 3 for normal pollution etc. I was 0-1. It can flag up a faulty boiler if yours is higher than 3, do you have a carbon monoxide detector?

Bovnydazzler · 16/06/2015 21:49

edgar what did the surgery say? Obviously it's good news if I'm wrong, but the cynical side of me (and also my small experience of NHS paperwork) fears the outcome will be lost in the system somewhere so they have to faf around juggling and switching to fit your scan in in the required time (and will make out they are doing YOU the favour for re-arranging it and it's definitely not their fault...)

Eek I'm becoming far too cynical! Hope in reality it's more straightforward than the above!

Agree that it's a lack of respect to not design a system which should easily give people adequate notice, definitely worth a complaint.

Oysterbabe · 16/06/2015 22:18

DH and I are now suffering from mismatched sex drives. I got him all riled up while we were TTC but now he needs to get back in his box. I'm a big, fat, tired, nauseous ball of hormones and not sexy in any way.

brickiemum2 · 16/06/2015 22:22

Snap oyster I've felt it necessary to motivate myself in that department whereas before he was getting dragged to bed lol.

lilyb84 · 16/06/2015 22:32

Snap oyster and brickie - I feel awful as he's a bit down right now and my apparent lack of interest isn't helping Sad

Pugmumlondon · 16/06/2015 22:32

oyster I am totally off sex. Not sure how long he will last without losing his mind though...

mrsfazruns · 16/06/2015 23:04

I feel like the odd one out .... My sex drive is much better ... DH asked me today what was wrong with me!' X

coffeenut · 16/06/2015 23:14

Me too mrsfaz Blush

I won't be telling the DDs until we have the harmony results. They will come to the scan to will have to say something before that but if I tell DD1 too soon, she will tell EVERYONE. The child talks non-stop!

Congrats on the good test results kep.

For whoever was running and got a sore hip - please be careful. Your ligaments etc are changing and stretching, don't push it too hard or you might do yourself some damage.

I'm an emotional wreck at the moment Sad.

Pugmumlondon · 16/06/2015 23:16

I'm just impressed at people running and having sex tbh.

I've gone from regular exerciser to nada. I'm going to be a heffalump! But a) I feel like crap and b) OH wants to wrap me in cotton wool for 9 months...
