Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 30th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 48th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: Stats

Good luck Pixie!

Niffertiti · 17/06/2015 07:28

Chat you and Sam were in my thoughts yesterday. Hope the service has helped in some way, it must have been so hard for you. Love to all the chat family.

Pixie good luck today. Not long now!

It's good to hear everyone being so honest about being pg. I'm not enjoying it much - I always thought the number of kids you had would basically be a choice. Now I can see not wanting all this weird shit happening to my body more than twice. I've been a right miserable cow the last few weeks, even though I'm delighted to be pg after trying for a year.

JC glad you've got a couple of weeks off. You're growing a baby though, you don't need to do much else. I hope you are feeling physically a bit better now? Maybe some gentle rambles? It's a beautiful time of year. It might sound sappy but when I'm getting over really low periods one of the turning points is being able to observe and enjoy nature. I find it quite mindful just to observe the birds and flowers and whatnot doing their thing.

I've started making spreadsheets to help manage the move to SE Asia - not til October for me although DH is moving in augustSad. I must be starting to believe this baby might happen... In a while I'll have to post a puzzler for you viroids - I get a small amount of stuff airfreighted for the baby which will arrive in time for the birth. The rest travels by sea and won't arrive until about a month after. What to pack where?? The logistics of this move are going to be a right headfuck!

Hobbit19 · 17/06/2015 07:32

Like pin pricks Dulcet, but with a big pin!

batfish · 17/06/2015 07:45

Any ideas for a little gift or something to give hubby for father's day? Bit cheesy I know seeing as no actual baby yet but thought it would be nice to give him something! Online shopping is absolutely terrible here so no option for babygro or anything else like that.....I have no other ideas!

batfish · 17/06/2015 07:48

niff re packing I guess the stuff for after baby arrives could be things like bouncer, monitor, play mat etc that you won't need immediately but you will prob want to buy in the UK because your options may be limited there? How much space will you have in your air freight?

Cymraes17 · 17/06/2015 07:49

Good luck Pixie! (Not jealous at all Envy)
Seeing a different mw today, 40+4. There is a tiny bit of me hoping they will send me in over a minor thing and just decide to induce me today.
Im tired of being so huge, I have only one pair of shoes that fit, and sometimes my feet are so swollen I cant get them on.
Dont get me wrong, I enjoy being pregnant, or I wouldnt be having my fourth! But today I want her out!

jellypi3 · 17/06/2015 07:52

Good luck today pixie!!!

cym I hope you get the result you want.

bat how about a bib?

honey yep finished it. It was really good. Can't wait for season 4!

Love the honesty too about pregnancy. I can't wait to start having things I like about it. So far I like the fact that I am pregnant, and the bean scan. That's it!

Fleurchamp · 17/06/2015 07:57

niff I do admire you moving all that way when pg!

Will family/friends be visiting straight after the birth? They could bring some things too.

Otherwise I would go with somewhere to sleep, pram, car seat, feeding equipment (depending on how you plan to feed). I assume you will still be able to get most of the other day to day stuff?

honeysucklejasmine · 17/06/2015 08:01

Niff what part of Thailand are you going to? Is it Thailand? My friends family lived in Bangkok for a few years, it is quite nice. Like a lot of SE Asia, it's gleaming shopping malls, swish trains, and abject poverty. The big thing i found was that a lot of the pavements are pretty crap. Slings will prob be tour friend more than a push chair! You should be able to get hold of a surprising amount of stuff, but agree that it's the big stuff to send in shipping. Cot, high chair, play mat etc. You won't need any of it at first.

Purpleball · 17/06/2015 08:23

Oooh good luck Pixie. Hope it all goes well. Look forward to pics Thanks

Purpleball · 17/06/2015 08:26

Pud if it's like a stitch then I've had them all along. I think they are called round ligament pains. It's enough to make me squeal sometimes and stop what I'm doing. I usually get them turning over in bed

Niffertiti · 17/06/2015 08:29

I'll be having the actual baby (touch wood) in bkk but we'll be living somewhere that's more at the abject poverty/completely underdeveloped end of the scale, in another SEasian country. With basically no access to western products. Hoorah! This wasn't the original plan...

So I'm hoping to ship most of the stuff for baby's first year. We get 3/4 of a standard shipping container by sea for all our worldly goods inc baby stuff. Plus baby gets 75kg airfreight. I ain't getting one of those colossal bugaboo pram jobbies, it'll be the the lightest on the market for me! Plus there are no pavements you could push a pram over so it's basically for airports.

So far I'm thinking airfreight:

Buggy for newborns - currently fancying baby jogger city mini gt
Chicco next to me cot - which packs up small for transport
Sleeping stuff/bedding
Boobie stuff - assuming I can get ff stuff in Bangkok if boobies/baby don't cooperate with plan a
Pooing/cleaning stuff - nappies etc, apparently I can get away with a washing up bowl for bath time when it's tiny?!
Some baby vests - assuming in SEA baby will mostly be naked, but some warmer stuff for aircon/airports
Car seat - we'l? be taking taxis in bkk but I can make a gesture at road safety...
Bouncer - do they use them in first 6 weeks?

I might consult just mumming on things they found indispensable in the first year...

jellypi3 · 17/06/2015 08:36

Blimey niff you are really brave! are you going out there permanently?

Pisghetti · 17/06/2015 08:53

Your plan sounds about right Niff. You might need something for the baby to sleep in during the day (advice is that all sleeps are in the same room as an adult for the first six months) so a Moses basket or similar? You could get away with a travel cot - they fold up small for transport. I have a fisher price baby to toddler rocker which is a baby chair that goes from birth to age 3. There's a kickstand to make it lie flat to make it suitable from birth - small babies shouldn't be in a more upright position until they have better head control. Will you need a car seat? Agree a stretchy wrap will be good for getting about in the early months. A special bath is unnecessary. One of my best purchases was a sleepyhead. It's basically a fancy cushion which fits snugly around the baby. She sleeps in there on the sofa in the daytime or on the dining table in DP's and then it goes in the crib at home or the cot at his for nighttime so she always has a 'familiar' sleep environment. I guess they're a bit pricey for what they are (cheapest on amazon) but I really rate it.

Good luck Pixie! Hope you're not left waiting too long Smile

Jcandy · 17/06/2015 09:11

Good luck pixie hope it all goes well for you!

Thanks niff yeah I'm planning on walks (though didn't make it off the sofa yesterday) The thing that made me know there was definitely something wrong was that I wasn't enjoying the sunshine. So I'd like to get back to that again. Physically I'm so much better. As long as I'm resting I think I feel norma-prego Smile

teejayem · 17/06/2015 09:42

Good luck today pixie - cuddles for you sooooooon!

cym do you want me to have a word?! Fx they get things going for you!

I promise I will do my birth story - I can't believe it's been a week! he is a scrummy little pooh, but my god, he is all consuming! :)

goodnessgraciousgouda · 17/06/2015 09:46

niff - what will you do about health check ups and vaccinations for the baby? Presumably if you are going to be living somewhere like that, the vaccinations will be even more important.

chat - I can't even imagine how hard yesterday must have been for you. Be kind to yourself and give yourself plenty of time to heal.

Pixie - you are probably long gone by now, but good luck with your caesarian today!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. At least with a caesarian you don't need to worry about those sexy maternity pads afterwards....

yorkshire - tinned fruit? Really? Your doctor is going to love you!! I realised today that since I am now effectively on bedrest, I had better made today the last day of pastries for breakfast.

I haven't really been pregnant long enough to give a definitive list of the good and bad, but so far I would say:

GOOD

  • Being pregnant
  • DH insisting on carrying everything (especially since the bleed)
  • Not really caring about having a pot belly, since it's all pregnancy related.
  • Scans. We've only had one very short, grainy one done so far, but even then it was amazing.
  • People being so happy when you tell them (even though I've only told two people).

BAD

  • Constant fucking needles being stabbed into me
  • Bed rest. I'm hoping it's only for one week because otherwise it will be really difficult this early on in the pregnancy.
  • Only being able to fit into two things in your wardrobe, but it being way too early to buy pregnancy wear.
  • Being the only sober one at parties, and not being able to sleep when everyone else is drunk and screaming and shouting at 3am.
Lookingforadvice123 · 17/06/2015 09:49

Morning viroids! Ooh good luck pixie! Can't wait to hear about baby pixie and see a pic on the FB group!

Second day off sick from work for me today Sad the combination of everything has just got too much for me, the last few days I've had the worst headache constantly which on top of the nausea is making me feel absolute poop. Was hoping to go in today but woke up at 3am when dh went to the loo (is he the pregnant one?!) and didn't go back to sleep until about 5am, head is throbbing now! Anyone else get headaches in particular when they were 11-12 weeks?

pud I get that type of pain, mainly in bed like purple.

Even though I've hated being pregnant so far I'm going to join in the game!

Things I like:
The excitement when talking to dh and other people who know, parents etc.
Looking at the baby clothes aisle when we go food shopping.
The excitement about being able to (hopefully) tell everyone after the 12 week scan - week tomorrow woohoo.
Dh has really shown his true colours and been the best H I could wish for, he's done all of the cooking/cleaning etc as he knows how rubbish I feel.

Things I don't like:
Nausea and general crap feeling! It means I (1) can't work out which I love and really miss; (2) all I tend to eat is stodgy junk food - combo of these 2 is making me FAT which I also hate as I've always been funny about my weight.
Being so irritable - my patience is tested in work at the best of times, even more so now.
Being so lazy and slothful as a result of not feeling well, and generally just not feeling like myself.
The anxiety of something going wrong.
Having to keep secrets from friends and family.
Not being able to drink, and having to think of lame excuses why I'm not drinking.

I am happy to be pregnant honest! On the inside I'm all happy and smiley, on the outside I'm permanently angry!

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/06/2015 09:51

Oh and pud I've ordered a tin of fruit on this week's shop! It better be good Wink

pretzelpieces · 17/06/2015 09:54

I missed honey 's bfp! Congratulations!!

I've been laying low because anxiety has been bad and coming on mumsnet was making it worse - I needed to get offline and do other things for a bit. Hoping to be on more later on. Have been reassured by an early scan yesterday (7wks +1) that showed a heartbeat and all is well so far. Thinking of you lot though Thanks

batfish · 17/06/2015 10:07

gouda the other day my hubby said the same thing about not needing maternity pads after a c section.....unfortunately the crap all still has to come out Grin

batfish · 17/06/2015 10:08

Yay pretzel great news about the scan!

pretzelpieces · 17/06/2015 10:29

Thanks bat Smile
