November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Ah crumbelina that's lovely! :)

I will also be googling when I get home... I don't think work would want to know about perennial massages and nipple creams.. but I do!

Julia No energy here at 16+6. I feel robbed. Weren't we all supposed to turn 14 weeks and start glowing and blooming and what not?!

Have my MW appointment tomorrow and I know it varies hugely depending on area/MW but who got to hear the baby's heartbeat? If you did... did you have to ask or was it offered? I'm bringing OH and reeeeally want to hear!

Alittlebitofeverything · 02/06/2015 10:54

I too will be joining the googling.. I have been bio oiling after my shower in the morning but I should be also rubbing oils in else where too?!

I still feel like the baby thing is so so far away but everyone keeps saying it'll fly round which is a bit scary. This thread actually makes me feel a bit better, particularly the people that also don't know about things too!!

I am really struggling to sleep at the moment, I have a full length U shape pillow which is comfortable. I seem to have no problem going to sleep but can't stay asleep, every little noise (my husband snoring!!!!Angry) wakes me up and I really struggle to get back to sleep. Any tips greatly received.

Alittlebitofeverything · 02/06/2015 10:56

Amyyy27 I am only 14 and a bit weeks but my midwives have booked me i for 16 week check and said they would be listening for the heartbeat then. She said she thinks its a really long time to go between 12 and 20 weeks without seeing or hearing anything so she always does it as a matter of course. Really looking forward to that, we've seen it beat but not heard anything yet!

gennibugs · 02/06/2015 11:34

If anyone is looking for a dream genii I found mine in tk maxx last week. It was the last one so they reduced it down to £20 for me but my mum has seen a few of them in her local one too.

wow I think I need to start making lists of all the useful things I learn om here - and things to Google Smile

HeirToTheIronThrone · 02/06/2015 11:45

Re: pillows - my friend recommended getting a long bolster pillow rather than a specific pregnancy one, it's great as you can hug it and it goes under your belly and then between your knees too. Mine was £13 from Dunelm Mill and they do covers too for about a fiver.

gennibugs · 02/06/2015 11:46

amyy I got to hear the heartbeat. She offered and offered a quick scan as there was a scanner in the room - of course I said yes! Grin

Amyyy27 · 02/06/2015 12:02

Oh that's comforting a couple of you got to hear. genni I remember you saying, how lucky!! I would totally jump on that chance!! haha Grin

I got given the mum to be U pillow with wedge from Argos and can't say its very comfy. I need back support, something between my knees and something to go under belly... I might be a bit tall but it only lets me do one at a time and the wedge is just rubbish imo. I might go and buy one of those long ones though!

Alittlebitofeverything · 02/06/2015 12:26

I got mine from pregnancypillow.co.uk, its free delivery and there is every kind of pillow you could possibly dream of, I find mine very comfortable but still cant sleep.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 02/06/2015 12:27

I think (trying not to jinx it!) my sickness has gone now at almost 19 weeks, phew!

Very impressed with all this nursery decorating, DS is nearly 9 months and I haven't done it! He's still in our room though, I don't see much point in moving him until he's sleeping through but I know some people like them in the nursery from birth. Too much traipsing around in the middle of the night for me though

This may sound obvious but I didn't realise. If you're allergic to lanolin then lanisoh is not for you. I realised just in time and got some other stuff on the internet. That could've been interesting rubbing it into cracked nipples otherwise

stace1986 · 02/06/2015 12:48

First morning I haven't been sick and I didn't feel nauseous at all last night which considering the fact we moved house yesterday I was quite impressed! Please let this be the end!

I seem to have broken out in spots all over my boobs, and this morning while getting dressed I scratched my nipple against the wardrobe... OUCH. If it hadn't hurt so much it might have been funny the way I bounced round the room afterwards looking for some cream amongst all the unpacked boxes!

Also anyone suffering with nose bleeds? I have had 3 now and they seem to get worse each time! Another joyful pregnancy symptom!

CoffeeTwo · 02/06/2015 14:09

I've had a couple of nose bleeds too.

My sickness is slowly starting to go too. I haven't actually been sick now in a week and my nausea is passing. Thank heavens. I'm 15+1 now, bring on the second trimester glow!

Focusfocus · 02/06/2015 16:15

amy I got to hear heartbeat at 16 weeks, never expected let alone asked, she offered :) and it was boom boom boom!!!

I think I felt a little kick today. Actually, I really did. I felt it on my palm :) at 4 am I was lying awake and I knew he was moving about so I thought I'd place my hand there and whoa, little little kick!

We've got loads of winter stuff off ebay now, and they've all arrived and I can't believe how good they are. Clearly worn kinky a few times, these awesome jackets, coats, snowsuits. Al else is new that we've bought.

We bought a new bed and mattress today. Half price. Firm. Which is what I need.

I don't know about the glow though, still covered in remnants of spots all over sides of face and chest, and exhausted. Urrrrgh.

Sickness is coming on and off now. Fine over the weekend but back yesterday and today. It was like this for 22 weeks with ds!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 02/06/2015 16:54

I've got off lightly this time. With DS it was weeks 5 until 20, this time 8 until 19 I think, so I've had a month off!

cryingbabymess · 02/06/2015 17:41

I am exhausted today ladies! I think because works hectic just now and my OH not getting home until 1am is taking its toll!

SnozzberryPie · 02/06/2015 17:44

Hi all, just trying to catch up on the thread after a weekend away.

I've suddenly got a really obvious bump, bit awkward as I haven't told work yet. I've been wearing a lot of baggy tops and floaty scarves!

My nausea has gone but I am still tired, especially in the afternoons.

Silky pyjamas sound like a great idea. I also recommend everyone invests in a waterproof sheet, last time my waters broke in bed and ruined a mattress.

annatha · 02/06/2015 18:10

I got the U pillow and wedge from Argos last time and thought they were rubbish until about 30 weeks, when I would prop my bump up on the wedge and it was brilliant. The U shape I couldnt get to grips with, but it made a great breastfeeding pillow and now serves as a little seat for dd.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 02/06/2015 18:10

I'll second what Snozzberry said about a sheet. Mine wasn't waters but was placenta praevia bleed. As well as wrecking the sheets and mattress I for some stupid reason was rushing round the flat trying to pack my things, wrecking various bath mats and rugs on the way!

SnozzberryPie · 02/06/2015 18:52

Even if you don't leak any bodily fluids onto your mattress, you will probably end up with a a baby projectile vomiting and / or pooing in your bed at some point

doomclaw · 02/06/2015 20:59

I have just seen a glimpse of the future and I am terrified. I went into Toys R Us for a birthday present and ventured into the Babies R Us next door. I was completely overwhelmed by the car seats and prams and don't know what to think. I thought I had decided on a crib but having seen it for real I hate it. Then I went to Dunelm but didn't like the look of the bolster pillows. Then onto Asda for a couple of things and have ended up with some new born sleepsuits and muslins as I felt the need to buy something for the baby even if it ends sleeping in a drawer. Now going to have a mint magnum to get over the stress!

PooSweats84 · 02/06/2015 21:45

Has anyone had any experience of a punching type pain right at the bottom of their belly? It's around my scar area, had it for the last few weeks, I thought it was a urine infection at first as its that sort of niggly feeling, but sample was all fine last week at check up! Really don't want to bother the midwife with it but might have to ring her tomorrow!

PooSweats84 · 02/06/2015 21:45

*Pinching not punching! Bloody autocorrect!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 02/06/2015 21:53

My scar twinges occasionally Poo and pinches. I did ask the midwife and she said it's probably the scar tissue stretching but to call the doctor if it's bad. Mines got a lot better since my belly has moved up so it's sticking out above the scar if that makes sense?

feathergirl1 · 02/06/2015 21:54

I've had that pinching type pain too Poosweats. I just assumed it was a bit of a water infection. It was quite bad on Saturday but has eased the last couple of days.

A couple of people have said they have had weird dreams - well last night I dreamt I was in the house with my DH when I grew a willy and a pair of balls!?! It was so vivid I felt really disturbed when I woke up (but relieved of course lol!!!) Anyone top that?!?

PooSweats84 · 02/06/2015 21:56

How far along are you Abbey? Glad it's not just me! I'm 17+3 so guessing everything is shifting up at the moment, it just worried me because it's always in exactly the same place, right in the centre too Confused
