Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

JC honestly it wont last much longer. I really turned a corner at around 13 weeks. Up until then I could have happily lay on the sofa wretching and crying and feeling pure shite.

Took DP to a posh French patisserie in posh village. I purchased many petit fours. DP declined everything in case he caught gay from the pastry Grin. He said he can only do Greggs and that's as far as his pastry eating will go.

Purpleball · 10/05/2015 19:40

Fizzy water helped me. Have you tried ginger biscuits? They also work. I know it's pants when you don't want to eat but eating will stop the nausea. Nothing greasy though boak

Purpleball · 10/05/2015 19:41

Ga your DP makes me laugh. Is he being serious?

OP posts:
gaggiagirl · 10/05/2015 20:34

purple yeah he's serious. He can only eat manly things for men, you know, yorkies, mcoys, meat! If its wimmins food he couldn't possibly manage it. BiL is exactly the same.

teejayem · 10/05/2015 20:51

ga that is hilarious. I assume he only eats yorkie bars, and couldn't touch something like a flake then?? What Petit fours did you get? Indulge me with cream cake porn.
I've been trying to convince Mr tee we should go to a restaurant and do the 10 course tasting menu. He says he doesn't like his food faffed about with and after watching so much master chef, the way food is handled by the world and its mother puts him right off. No asparagus foam with egg yolk pearls for me then!

I attempted some weeding earlier (I know, I know) but laying about like a spare tyre is driving me nuts. Having a nice hot lush bath to de-ache.

My poo has gone peculiar too. Basically I think baby is sitting on my intestine, but I am going twice a day, rather than twice a week.

la send her the bill for some paint? I would have throttled one or both of them by now.

gaggiagirl · 10/05/2015 21:21

No tee he couldn't have a flake...his penis might fall off Shock.
When I first met him and we were flirting I asked him if he was a breast man or a leg man. His reply was. "fanny. I like fanny. I'm a man who likes fanny!" So romantic.
I had boozy cherry, double chocolate and amaretto petit fours. I'll find a link so we can drool over them.

gaggiagirl · 10/05/2015 21:30

We went here no menu on the website which is shite. Bloody delish though. I'll trot there for a croque monsieur next time I'm at my mams. I wont bother taking Manly McMannus of Manville with me though.

Purpleball · 10/05/2015 21:51

That is pretty funny, the man who likes a fanny!

Just watched last weeks Greys, I'm sobbing at the end of it. DH thinks that because it's a TV program it doesn't count. Bloody men! I told him I'm upset, the reason doesn't matter. I want to cry and cry over Derek Confused

Thanks for the suggestions! What did you do about work? I'm struggling to do a full day at the moment and my employer is making me either make the hours up or take unpaid leave. Not sure what to do.

Haha Ga love that you didn't run away from that comment!

Hobbit19 · 10/05/2015 22:08

What?! That's terrible JC, do you have a contract/what do you do?

gaggiagirl · 10/05/2015 22:09

Well surely a man who likes fanny knows what he's doing....so he got the job!

JC at work, get your temperature right, hot water bottle/ cooling fan. Take a cushion for your back if you can to get comfy at your desk if you have a desk job. Drink lots of whatever you fancy. Try eating foods with malic acid in to stop the sickness. Go straight to bed from work.

Purpleball · 10/05/2015 22:12

JC unless you're taking holiday then I doubt you have the right to be paid for it. If you get paid sick it probably won't count as you're there every day. It's horrible though. I do sympathise. If they know you are pregnant then they have to do a risk assessment and provide somewhere for you to have a rest

OP posts:
Jcandy · 10/05/2015 22:30

You're right purple, they are being flexible by allowing me to adjust my hours. It's just annoying when I'm dragging myself into work for them, end up leaving about 3 hours early coz I'm so exhausted.

They haven't done my risk assessment yet. I have two jobs which also makes it difficult. I work for the NHS. I'm sometimes at a desk but not always. No idea where I'd rest! Been for a nap in my car before when it got too much. Have a 45 min drive home so worry about doing that when tired.

Hobbit19 · 10/05/2015 22:32

Maybe I am being wildly unrealistic here so apologies if I am but I thought that most people in a permanent job would be entitled to some sick pay/statutory sick pay? That's really tough if not Sad

Hobbit19 · 10/05/2015 22:34

Surely you are entitled to sick pay if you work for the NHS? Have you spoken to HR? (I am very outraged on your behalf JC, I hope you don't mind!)

Niffertiti · 10/05/2015 22:37

JC you should just get yourself signed off sick for a couple of weeks love! It shouldn't last forever, you'll be back in much better shape after you've got through 1st trimester (unless you're really unlucky but cross that bridge only if you get to it). They'll cope, esp in a big organisation like the NHS.Thanks

Apparently pregnancy related sickness doesn't go on your sick absence record and they can't discriminate against you for it - I've never checked out the HR law on this tho, so just what I've read here.

Niffertiti · 10/05/2015 22:39

I share pud's outrage! You deserve much better treatment!

Purpleball · 10/05/2015 23:27

She's not actually taking time off sick though. If you get signed off then yes you get paid for it if you work for NHS. If you just do less hours you're not off sick, you're working less hours.
HR can be an awkward area!

OP posts:
teejayem · 10/05/2015 23:37

I work in HR :) Pregnancy related illness can't be used against you in an absence disciplinary sense. I was signed off for 7 weeks before I took early mat leave, but could have gone another 6 with a note. I think I've said it up thread but as long as your GP States your condition is due to pregnancy you can't be touched, and in my experience, they are quite happy to sign pregnant ladies off just to be safe - I only went in for painkillers and was told I should be looking after myself and my baby more.
What I will add is if you do end up signed off long term, it's worth checking your company's sick pay policy, as some organisations base it on tenure ie; 1 years service = 6weeks full pay then statutory, 2 years service = 8 weeks full pay, then stat etc.
And this sounds terrible, but I can't emphasise enough that your work will continue without you, they will not thank you for coming in when you feel as rough as a badly shaven nun and in the long term it will do you absolutely no harm from an absence record perspective. As long as it's documented that you are unwell due to being up the duff. Your baby is the most important thing, don't do what i did and carry on going in if you feel terrible, because you feel guilty! They will manage :)!

Let me know if I can help tho, it can be a bit of a minefield, I believe purple' is an HR person too if you're after some more advice.

teejayem · 10/05/2015 23:39

Cross post with purple - if it was
Me, I'd be getting signed off by Dr, and then use the leverage you have with your flexi working to manage a staggered return to work when you start to feel better (you should have a few weeks grace in 2nd trim at least!).

LaLaLaaaa · 11/05/2015 07:41

Morning everyone! A lot brighter in the La household today. Dh was suitably chastised yesterday and I got him to agree that having someone make dirty marks on our brand new nursery 2 weeks after painting it is annoying- normally he couldn't care less about these things. He's going to touch the paint up tomorrow. She'd hung sopping wet towel on back of door touching wall which left big mark too. She just doesn't think. I spent her whole visit checking she'd turned off hair straighteners and not let cats out where they shouldn't be. It's over now and I've put a ban on anyone entering this house before baby comes.

Im off to Lancaster today for work. Really don't want to go because I'm so tired but I have to.

Ok catching up:

Bat - I phoned midwife about pains around same no of weeks you are. She said they were normal growth round ligament pains but if worried to go get checked.

Looking that's lovely that everyone is excited for you Grin

Dulcet I'm also having lots of full tummy movement! Like waves punctuated by fist pumps coming out of my belly. It's hilarious! We picked someone who hopefully is going to be good- she seems to be good all rounder. Quite young but v keen. She'll have a week overlap with me.

5 weeks to go at work!

Tee you do sound a bit fragile! Hope dental goes ok today! Stop hurting yourself woman Smile. Dh bought soleros yesterday. Nice but nae magnum.

My masseuse recommended wheat bags too for during pg. apparently they are good for you?

Chat dd sounds adorable! What did she get you? Did you have a nice day being looked after?

Regarding dh drinking he has said he will stop now til baby comes. Although he drank last night... We will see what happens!

Purple could you post the hospital bag lists up again please? I never got them copied last time.

Fleur you sound mega organised!! We were derailed slightly by guests and anniversary but now back on the case. Trying to decide on a changing bag. Love the storksak nina but I like the blue and it's not available just now.

Any changing mat recommendations? Lots of stupidly pricey ones out there. I was looking to get a bog standard one from mothercare. Is there something I'm missing in terms of some being better than others?

Fleur I'm also knackered doing the slightest thing. I had to paint my toenails one at a time yesterday sitting back in between as I got breathless. Dh thought it was amusing...moose.

Pud yes poo bingo is fun not! Which will it be today?! Although I'm pretty much just constipated these days. Had the most satisfying poo in the world the other day - felt so heavy beforehand and after I felt light as a feather! for about a minute

JC I remember that feeling/ on one hand you're relieved to feel sick and pregnant but on the other it's so horrible! Lots of ginger ale, ginger biscuits, whatever you feel like eating get it down you even if it's not healthy. I lived on crisps. It will pass I promise.

Ga- mmmmm petit fours... I think you should force him to go to afternoon tea somewhere, that'll kill him!

JC id be getting a risk assessment done and arranging for time for a lie down at lunch and things like a back rest. My boss was more helpful when she understood what the issue was.

WilHarlot · 11/05/2015 07:51

I used to find the exhaustion worse early afternoon and then picked up a little by the end of the day. If you can just get through those few hours in the middle. However I only worked three days a week this time round. Five days may have finished me off.

I also can't get MrWil to go to any fancy eateries as he has the biggest appetite known to man and swallows their offerings in a single bite. He would see a ten course tasting menu as a starter. He also was worried about our child playing with the toy kitchen if he turned out to be a boy, in case he caught the gay. Because you know, men don't cook... Hmm Confused Blush I am hoping this wasn't serious.

WilHarlot · 11/05/2015 07:56

I have never seen a fancy changing mat La. They get shit on them. Get a bog standard cheap one. In fact get one for upstairs and one for down.

Jcandy · 11/05/2015 09:06

Thanks everyone. I'm just finding it frustrating that either I do what's good for me or what's good for work. It always makes me feel horribly guilty to make a decision like that. Especially when other pregnant people at work haven't taken time off. I know everyone's different but it'll still feel like they're comparing. I've taken today off anyway and caught up on some much needed sleep. Seeing the midwife at midday so I'll see what she suggests.

Fleurchamp · 11/05/2015 09:09

I got a cheap mat (£5 from mothercare) and a fancy one (£15 from mothercare). Fancy one, with towelling inserts for downstairs (where people can see it Blush ) and the cheap one upstairs.
