Good luck, Moomimin!!

MKG - 55lbs in 3 months? That's astounding! I will definitely be beating a track to your virtual door for advice post baby!

peacemakerukuk · 06/11/2006 14:12

Good luck Moominin, let us know how it went as soon as you can.

twelveyeargap · 06/11/2006 14:34

No carb, no dairy? OMG, what did you EAT? That's amazing willpower though. Well done.

ShowOfWhizzBangHands · 06/11/2006 14:43

No dairy? No dairy? Sorry to repeat, but can't quite imagine it. Oh it'd kill me, I could give up anything else but not dairy. Never been on a diet before and I probably won't after the birth. I eat pretty healthily and I'm tee-total and exercise lots so I'm hoping that lots of cycling, swimming and running will get me back on track afterwards. Still dreading it though!

JL, not done the pilates dvd yet, DH chose it for me and this is the first week that I will have had time to do it. We can compare notes afterwards!

Good luck moomimin, report back soon!

pebblemum · 06/11/2006 15:19

Blimey this thread is already quite long and we are only on the first day, took me ages to catch up.

We've had a lovely morning Christmas shopping, almost finished ds1's now, spent way too much but hey thats what christmas is all about

I too have put on lots of weight, havent weighed myself but can no longer fit into any of my normal jeans. Ive just invested in a few bigger sizes for now as maternity ones feel just that little bit too big. I look at least 5/6months though today instead of the 12wks i am. I dont mind though as it definately looks like a baby bump and not just fat

Hope scan has gone well Moomimin

twelveyeargap · 06/11/2006 15:25

I know. If I couldn't eat yoghurt, I think I'd starve. OK, that's a lie, but I LOVE yoghurt.

Looks like we have somewhere to live for Christmas. Hurrah. Just saw a little mews house today. DH going to sign up this evening after work. Probably going to have to move next Tues or Weds. No rush there then... Please GOD, don't let anything go wrong with this. I will crack up if I have to view another round of places.

Our landlady had some drain clearing company round on Friday and "claims" her sister (who lives downstairs) got it wrong about the structural stuff and it's just a blocked drain. Pull the other one. Suspect they want the money in from the sale of the upper maisonette so they can pay for the work to be done.

Anyway, as long as I have somewhere to live I'll leave them to it.

pebblemum · 06/11/2006 16:01

Will keep my fingers crossed for you TYG, hope you have some good news re somewhere to live soon.

largeginandtonic · 06/11/2006 16:12

Excellent news TYG hope it goes ok.

MKG wow, thats alot of weight v quickly. I will def be after your advice post baby.

Good luck moomin, im hoping it all goes ok for you. Thinking of you

mummymelling · 06/11/2006 17:15

AFTERNOON ALL, i havent been around for a bit as we are having problems with the EX H, being a total B*$T*D and ive just spent my time sobbing and feeling like crap, he is now not going to agree to the adoption and instead wants more access to the boys[he hasnt previously shown any interest in the 2yr old], just doing it to spite me as he just found out im pregnant im sure, and his wife[my former best mate] is a total bitch and pulls all his strings, and he hasnt been paying my maintenence for the boys. Sorry to rant but its taken me 2yrs to get the twat and all the hurt and damage he and her caused out of my system, and there they are back again when i really dont need the stress.ANYONE KNOW OF A REALLY GOOD LAWYER WHO POSTS ON HERE FOR A BIT OF FREE ADVICE xx

MKG · 06/11/2006 17:49

Mummy I don't envy you. I'm so sorry your ex is sh!t. Did you post on the legal threads? Can you take him to court to get him to pay up for the kids? If you can, hit where it hurts . . . his wallet.

moomimin · 06/11/2006 17:52

So sorry to hear you are having troubles mummymelling. He does sound like he wants to make your life hard work. What good will it do in the end really?

MKG I too will be listening out for post pg weight loss tips. I have managed to retain 8kg between the start of dd pg and this one. got a few tut tut's from my midwife.

Great news on the place for christmas tyg.

moomimin · 06/11/2006 17:57

Oh how could I forget to post on that one. durrrr

Scan went well, thank you for all your well wishes before hand.

I am soooooooooooooooo relieved to see that all looks good. Not going to worry too much now but I do have a front, low lying placenta right over my cervix, not really what I wanted to hear but I know it is early days and will pray that as my bump grows it will pull up the placenta. Can't quite face the possibility of a C/S yet.

AND there is only one. sorry lg&t still no May twins yet.

jellybeans · 06/11/2006 19:07

moomimin, so glad your scan was OK, it is a relief isn't it. I hope the placenta moves up with time, I have heard of that happening.

Mummymelling- sorry you are going thru that, your ex and his gf sound right twa@s. I wish i knew a good lawyer. Keep notes/records of everything that they do out of order.

I am also gonna have to soon get some maternity gear, am gettin a belly already (well had one anyway really!!) but so bloated. xx

pebblemum · 06/11/2006 19:14

Glad the scan went well Moomimin. Im still waiting to hear about a date for mine, my midwife is going to chase it up when she is at the hospital on Wednesday. I am now officially 12wks so once i see my little bean on screen i will be able to relax a bit and start enjoying the pregnancy a bit more.

MKG · 06/11/2006 19:18

Her moom,

Glad to here that the scan went well. Don't worry about the placenta. Hey at least you know early on that there may be a greater chance for a C-section and you get mentally prepare yourself.
It's not the best advice, but people that I know that have went in knowing they were getting a C-section did much better than those who had emergency sections. I think because they were able to prepare for it. I know that whatever is showing up on my scan (one more week till doctor tells me) could increase my risk of a C/S. I just say oh well. I figure my sister will come out to stay and help me, dh will be much nicer, I plan on milking for what it's worth.

O.k. now does anyone else get so jealous when they see other people's birth announcements on the board. I am getting so jealous. I want May to be here Now. I don't want to be pregnant. I just want a baby.

cinnamontam · 06/11/2006 19:19

Hey all,

Funny to think I've moved from forums like 'Queer as Folk' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' to this one! Was trawling the net looking for info on 12 week scan as I have mine this Thursday and came across Mumsnet. Nice chat and people
I'm 35, it's my first and my Mum, sis and girlfriends are all in Australia so feeling a little forlorn. I'm due May 25th next year - looking forward to chatting with you all

aprilmeadow · 06/11/2006 19:22

Congrats on your scan moomimin.

This is my 2nd and although i look big i have only put on 2lbs. Have been in maternity clothes pretty much since i got the positive test!

Oh the joys of pregnancy

aprilmeadow · 06/11/2006 19:24

hello and welcome to the May07 thread cinnamontam. I hope you like to chat!!

moomimin · 06/11/2006 19:28

Congratulations cinnamontam, you will be made very welcome, I'm sure. Nice chat but lots of it though.

I live in france and my Friends and Family are in the UK so I feel a little lonley too some of the time. Actually most of the time, thats why I'm always on here. I am slightly luckier though and I do have my parents with us.

Best of Luck with your pregnancy and keep chatting with us.

cinnamontam · 06/11/2006 19:34

Thanks guys - chatting is something I've always been good at. My job means I sit all day and most nights at a laptop so it's going to be a struggle to get work stuff done.

MKG · 06/11/2006 20:10

Welcome cinnamontam !!

We are the chattiest thread. We just started this one today and it's getting pretty long. Where are you located? We have all different time zones going on.

cinnamontam · 06/11/2006 20:26

I'm in the UK in London. But I'll be going home to Australia for a month in 2 weeks so who knows what time I'll be on. Where are you?

cinnamontam · 06/11/2006 20:28

I'm such a rude cow. Hello to you too
