I had never heard of these donuts until now and now even I want one. Grrrrrrrrrrrr! go away you lot. hehe lol (loves ya really)

Creena, am going to add selfriges in Birmingham to my list for the week we are there. Must at least try one. (or one of each hehe)
Where abouts are you in Brum? You don't have to answer that but we are spending a week at my sis from the 5th-11th Dec, she is in Moseley. I know Birmingham is massive but just wondered what area you are in compared with where we will be.

Washing has got less but mess has multiplied, it seems such a waste of time clearing up, the family just make a mess again. I would hate to live in a pit, but at least I wouldn't waste my time clearing. IYKWIM

Oooooh lucky you going to selfridges FSF, i may join you for a day shopping. Im no where near but hey its a day out and if there are donuts to be eaten i must show you the ropes...

Frenchsmallfry · 12/11/2006 17:45

Bit of a treck for you lg&t but it would be fun. I could always get you some and shove them out your way on our way down to Bournemouth. Your not far from the M3 surely? Or are you in Portsmouth, brain gone, can't remember. Although, I've not had one but I would imagine they have got to be better eaten fresh same day, like most donuts.

Yey, the trip to brum sounds much better, coffee and donut in selfidges in Dec anyone?

Frenchsmallfry · 12/11/2006 17:46

Got two days in Richmond Surrey as well isn't there somewhere nr there?

ShowOfHands · 12/11/2006 17:49

Having just admitted to having no idea what krispy kreme whatsits are, do I dare admit to not knowing what Selfridges is?!

[country bumpkin emoticon]

Frenchsmallfry · 12/11/2006 17:59

I will also admit I have never been there SOH but I think it's a department store. I would say it is a bit posh but I'm not sure that is correct?

aprilmeadow · 12/11/2006 18:52

This is the sofa we have bought. Decided i didnt want/need a rug so they dropped the £78! new sofa

I think they sell krispy kreme's in Harrods or Selfridges. They are to die for! must stop dribbling!

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 19:38

Its so nice April you lucky thing, hope you get it before xmas. Harrods and Selfridges in B'Ham sell Krispy Kreme's, i had them just before xmas last year when i went to London with dd all on our own, It was great, we shopped all day had tea in Loch Fyne and watched a show before coming home. Dd was only 5 then, it was so nice for us to have a day out together, i bought back a box of 20 donuts from Harrods for the mini demons at home.

Showofhands selfridges is a department store very posh but lovely.

FSF i am in Portsmouth not far from Bournemouth, also good shopping alas no Krispy Kreme's, you get a box in B'Ham and i will meet you in Bournemouth ok? Who am i kidding Dec is waaaay to far away, i need one now

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 19:40

Am yacking on another thread at the moment, its a name one cant do links but its running now, some very nice names popping up.

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 19:46

Its called Conception; im getting waaaaaay ahead of myself but

Frenchsmallfry · 12/11/2006 20:43

lg&t Very funny thread, I love the names threads. It is soooo interesting to see peoples tastes on names. It's a good job not everyone likes the same name otherwise the world would be very confusing. Your childrens names are lovely, my ds's middlename is Jacob. We wanted it as a first name but dh's family have a traddition that all their middle names start with a J, we wanted to continue it but didn't want a JJ. IYKWIM So we called him Harrison Jacob and funnily enough he is a Harrison, never called Harry. I have nothing against Harry and always thought it would be shortened but so far it hasn't.

largeginandtonic · 12/11/2006 20:52

I love Harrison, we have Jonah James and he does get called JJ alot, i used to like it but not so much anymore, it seems a waste of Jonah really. No more J's for me though, cant have a Harry and Hugo either. So tricky this naming thing

Frenchsmallfry · 12/11/2006 21:40

It must get trickier the more you have! Dh's step sister has a ds called Joseph John. He is JJ always, infact I just had to ask dh what his real name is. Hence we didn't want a JJ too. DD is Madison Jade but don't think we'll stick with the whole son thing for the third. Just about get away with Harrison and Madison but I think another son might sound abit silly. Madison is usually called Maddie anyway, she's only Madison if she misbehaves.

Frenchsmallfry · 13/11/2006 09:42

Helloooooooooooooooo it's gone very quiet on here!!!!!!!! Quite scary.

peacemakerukuk · 13/11/2006 10:42

Wotcha, Frenchie - just quickly replying to your post on this thread, which I missed yesterday.

I live in South Staffs, so not exactly in Brum although Brum is quite easy to get to. The nearest 'city' to me is Wolverhampton, which isn't anything like on the same scale as Brum. I did live in Birmingham for many years though and have been to Moseley loads of times - I really like it there; very leafy but bohemian too.

I think that Selfridges is well worth a visit while you're about, although it will be absolutely MAD in there during the run up to Christmas. The food department alone is worth it - I could easily spend an entire day in there and that's before I get anywhere near the Krispy Kremes! The Krispy Kreme section is really good - it's all kind of open to view, so you can watch the donuts being made and, if you can't wait until you get home, you can buy a coffee and sit in the waiting area and devour lots of lovely donuts!!

I have to work in Brum fairly regularly, so if I'm about when you're visiting, I'd be happy to show you Selfridges' food hall!
