bradders thanks for the birth story!

ginger Oooh exciting!! So much happening at the moment!! Good luck!

leanne963 · 08/05/2015 21:18

sunshine and apple yeah I just hate seeing him stressed! He just came in to the bedroom as I was drying my hair and gave me a hug and said 'I don't want you to ever think I'm putting work in front of you' bless him!

mum it is so hard cause he stops working and he stops getting money! People also seem to assume that as he is self employed he can work evenings and weekends so he doesn't even have a Saturday of Sunday off! What does your DP do?!

Oooh piglet sounds painful, hope you are all ok and contractions aren't too bad! Do you have a tens?

leanne963 · 08/05/2015 21:21

bradders amazing birth story!!! Can't believe he came out on a wave ha!!! So glad it was a good experience for you :)

applecore0317 · 08/05/2015 21:40

Wow bradders, Sounds like it was eventful! Glad the tear is bearable, what an arrival!!

Leanne bless him, that's really sweet.

teachermummy2b · 08/05/2015 23:55

Congratulations bradders & just!
Ive finally finished work today so all starting to feel real now!

gingerfluffball · 09/05/2015 00:42

Lovely story bradders, sounds like George arrived in a hurry once he was ready!!

Thanks for all the good luck, really nice to wake up to Smile have slept for a good six hours, getting on/off painful contractions but not too sore that I think things are especially getting going. Just biding my time with DH for the next 3 or so hours til we're due to go back in to the hospital (post-power outage!!) to help kick things off. We have the end of a Harry Potter movie still to watch so that should take my mind off things for the time being Grin

Justyouwaitandsee · 09/05/2015 02:00

Ooh - great to hear from you TeacherMummy - enjoy every minute of your pre-baby mat leave. Rest, sleep and treat yourself to whatever you feel like or fancy. I know it's hard but I really recommend not wishing that time away. Once baby arrives, he/she will completely take over your life so you need to build up your strength and reserves as much as you can.

Hang on in there all those for whom action seems imminent. Keeping calm and relaxed and patient will really help waiting things out and hopefully reducing the time yku spend in hospital before things really kick off!

KittyVonCatsington · 09/05/2015 04:49

Amazing birth story bradders-loved reading it!

Am eagerly awaiting some new arrival news Grin

I am so sorry but although I announced on Facebook, reception was rubbish in hospital but am home now so.......
I am pleased to formally Mumsnet announce the arrival of Baby Sarah Jessamy!! Born 7th May at 18:40pm weighing 6 lb 3.

applecore0317 · 09/05/2015 05:18

Glad you managed to get some sleep ginger :)

Congratulations again kitty, great weight! love the middle name, have never heard it before.

Yey for Mat leave starting teacher, it's all about the afternoon naps and second breakfasts!

mumxof3x · 09/05/2015 07:22

Glad you got some rest ginger.

Congratulations again kitty.

Leanne dp is a roofer, so he don't get any pay too if he doesnt go and like your dp can only work throughout the day...its tough isn't it. Hes working 6 days a week to get us back on track at moment as it ended up been such a financial strain when leo come cause we just had to pay for everything we had left to buy in one bulk lol.

Another good night with leo, 8.30pm, 1.15am and 6.30am. Hes still full of cold though bless him and yesterday he projectile vomited so much, poor man.

applecore0317 · 09/05/2015 07:22

Woke up to more of a bloody show this morning after DTD last night, really hope this is a good sign...

applecore0317 · 09/05/2015 07:24

Great night for leo Mum. Sorry he still has a cold, always feel so sorry for babies with colds as it's a miserable thing to have as an adult when you can blow your own nose.

Blondie87 · 09/05/2015 07:43

Sorry I've not had time to catch up on everyone's news but good to luck those showing signs of labour!
After two days in hospital Edward has started to breast feed so I'm leaving today! Can't wait to go home.
Congratulations to those with new arrivals. Will post birth story soon x

Chookford · 09/05/2015 09:05

mumxof3x · 09/05/2015 10:07

Great news on leaving hospital blondie.

Fab news apple hope its not long until labour

Sunshinesaz86 · 09/05/2015 10:26

Congrats again kitty

Great news on being allowed home blondie

apple I think you've just answered a question in my head, about sex after sweep and I assume that's safe an all ok? After my sweep yesterday nothing much has happened few more twinges and still getting tightening's but not painful so bit disappointed. Dunno whether it's worth trying dtd? I do hope things start properly for u soon.

Yey for starting mat leave teacher you've done very well! Now relax.

Leo sounds like a little angel mum glad he's being a good boy.

Glad u got sleep ginger good luck today.

Right where's my exercise ball??.....

applecore0317 · 09/05/2015 10:59

sunshine was told that as long as waters are in tact then DTD is fine :) plus sperm is meant to soften the cervix even more, fingers crossed for you

Sunshinesaz86 · 09/05/2015 11:06

Yes I believe so apple and after mw saying my cervix was thin/short I thought sex may just help the rest of the way! Grin thanks for that, good luck to u too! Smile

SmileyScooby · 09/05/2015 15:20

Bradders thanks for your story :) hope your tear pain has eased

piglet hope things are going ok and moving along for you

sunshine glad to hear things are ok and underway

ginger hope things going well for you

kitty congratulations again, lovely name

apple hope dtd has moved things along for you...don't think DH particularly wants to do it for fear of something going wrong so think it will be the last thing we try.

blondie yay to going home!!

No real signs of anything happening here (39+3), baby is being quieter at night time but going hard/sticking bum etc out into hard lumpy bumps, I'm still not sleeping right but have resigned myself to this being a thing to come anyway. Haven't had any more jelly like discharge either. Have been on the exercise ball rocking and doing little bounces, had my dates and done some weeding in garden so am hoping by being active/kneeling in garden it might move things along. Have had a few daggers and bump going solid but nothing painful yet (am assuming there will be no mistaking it and I will know if contractions start?!?)

Not seeing midwife until end of next week...really don't want to go over based on weight/size estimates from last weeks scan...do midwifes do sweeps at gp surgeries or only in hospital?

MissMrsMummy · 09/05/2015 16:02

Congratulations kitty and hello baby Sarah! I popped in yesterday and saw that you had stopped posting when your contractions were 7mins apart so I knew it must be happening! Well done!

Good luck and congratulations everyone else xx

piglet81 · 09/05/2015 16:50

Hi everyone, am being induced as was getting nowhere (cervix stuck at 2cm for over 12 hours) and they were a bit worried about my kidney function. So not quite the birth I'd planned but am comfy on drip and epidural now. Fingers crossed he'll arrive today!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Phone battery a bit low! Grin

Chookford · 09/05/2015 16:53

piglet best of luck today! Hope he arrives soon for you!

smiley my midwife is performing my sweep at home If I need one but with my dd I did have to go to gp surgery so not sure if it being my second makes a difference or not! Hope you don't have to wait too long before bubs arrives!!

LP20140 · 09/05/2015 17:36

Hi everyone! Sorry for my silence, can only post from my phone which is rubbish so it's a right pain. Congratulations to everyone who have delivered their beautiful babies! I have been reading everyday and I am so happy for everybody. Today is my due date but no sign of anything happening

Good luck everyone!! Xxxx

applecore0317 · 09/05/2015 17:43

Ah that's great that they are getting things moving for you piglet and that you are settled.

Happy Due date LP

Smiley I assumed the sweep would be done at my local GP surgery as my midwife works both their and at the hospital . So assumed she could do it anywhere.
