Always best to get checked Apple.

Glad to hear Leo is being such a well behaved little chap!

I've woken up with quite intense lower back and abdomen pain and a very hard bump. Usually the pain with BH comes and goes but this has been pretty consistent. Lost lots more plug and keep feeling like I need the loo. On my own until DH gets home and feeling a bit sick. Have barely felt baby but everything was fine yesterday at MW appointment and heard his heart beat so not sure what to do really.

leanne963 · 07/05/2015 09:59

Oooh thinking of you kitty hope everything progresses for you :) :) eeek how exciting!!!

apple glad you are getting checked! After two crazy nights of movement she wasn't crazy the past two nights so movement has slowed a bit too but she is still moving loads right now! No more bloody show which is annoying! Lol such a tease!

Glad Leo is sleeping well mum :)

bradders love the name :) also I think as long as you and baby as happy it doesn't matter about BF, my SIL tried it but baby wasn't putting on enough weight and wasn't sleeping for long enough so they switched to formula and much happier :)

Chookford · 07/05/2015 10:17

apple always best to be checked over, sure everything is fine!

blondie take some paracetomol and have a nice warm bath then relax for the day of you can, it sounds like things are ramping up and you will need energy later on so take it easy today.. Keep an eye on things as the day progresses

mumxof3x · 07/05/2015 10:20

Thankyou ladies.

Blondie I would ring and get checked just to be sure. With ds2 I was in slow labour and got checked the Wednesday and sent home he was ok then by Thursday I went back in still in slow labour and 3cm but this time his heart rate was too high so they gave me a sweep to try speed things up and kept me in to keep a monitor on him. Everything was ok but its definitely best to get checked and you will probably find out where you are at too in regards to the pains. Xx

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/05/2015 11:27

Good luck kitty I hope your progressing nicely.

blondie I hope this is also it for u too! Very exciting, keep us posted! Good luck also.

apple absolutely no harm in getting checked if only for piece of mind. Hope everything is as it should be.

bradders glad your doing ok, as far as bf goes u have to do what's right for u. I'm ff from the start so at least u tried bf.

leo sounds like a little dream mum glad he's doing well Smile

I'm 39 weeks today!! No signs of LO appearing anytime soon. The wait continues!

Anyone else getting signs!?

Threesoundslikealot · 07/05/2015 11:42

Hello, all. Am going to try to reply but please no one mind if I cock up as I'm on my phone!

apple, good luck with the check up. I'm sure it'll all be fine. I'm driving myself mad with thinking about movement but last night was very active which reassured me!

blondie and kitty, that all sounds promising! Hot baths all round I reckon.

Really pleased new arrivals are doing well and sleeping and eating happily.

I had my first mild contractions yesterday evening - every six minutes or so. They stopped when I went to bed but that didn't surprise me too much. I'm taking it as a sign that the baby might arrive in the next week or so. I'm hoping not tonight as DP and I are both interested in politics and I really don't want to spend election night in labour!

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 12:57

Back home now, little mischief is fine. They picked up some contractions, some of which were very strong tightening. She then examined me and cervix is soft and favourable and already 1cm dilated. So she did a stretch and sweep whilst she was there :)

mumxof3x · 07/05/2015 13:12

Good news apple :) xx

Threesoundslikealot · 07/05/2015 13:15

Hurray, Apple. Secret contractions sound very useful things.

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 13:18

Blondie hope you are getting checked out.

Sounds promising three :)

Bargain on the rocker Mum is it one of those electric ones?

Chookford · 07/05/2015 13:49

apple sounds promising!!!

three hope you have some more contractions soon, and this thread has some more baby news soon! X

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 13:50

And have now had a bloody show :) I like today

Chookford · 07/05/2015 13:52

apple even better!! Hope things move radius for you now! How far along are you?

Chookford · 07/05/2015 13:52

Rapidly

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 13:59

Thanks Chook am just 37+1, so only just term

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/05/2015 14:04

That's exciting apple glad everything went ok. Can't believe you've been given a sweep I can't have one until 40+5! :( hope things speed up for u soon. Im also jealous to everyone who's has a show or lost plug. As gross as that may sound Grin

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 14:16

Sorry Sunshine, they just did it cause of the tightenings. Think I was lucky. Some don't get the show until they pop apparently. Hope you pop soon x

Threesoundslikealot · 07/05/2015 15:20

I've never had a show if that helps. And I've given birth twice! So it doesn't mean much if you haven't.

Good luck, people!

mumxof3x · 07/05/2015 15:54

Yes apple. And whoo good news on the bloody show.

kittiker · 07/05/2015 17:09

Thanks, Apple! Luckily, they were happy with the results of the second set of bloods so I can at least start off at MLU, though there's a good chance of getting transferred (50%) as they don't take any risks. Oooh, just read your most recent posts - exciting stuff! Good luck.

Scottishgal, yes, I'm in Oban.

Kitty, things sound like they are progressing well - good luck! I think your kitten might be first!

Had a second sweep today. Things were looking much more favourable, with a soft, 1cm dilated cervix. Midwife could touch the baby's head which vaguely freaked me out! She did reckon though that I wouldn't go till after the weekend so I'm going to plan a weekend of fun activities not related to birth and try to take my mind off things. Any suggestions?

leanne963 · 07/05/2015 17:11

Oooh apple how exciting :D I am jealous you got a sweep too :P Hope things move quickly for you!

I've been having more nephew hugs today, makes me realise i am so ready to meet the LO!!!!

applecore0317 · 07/05/2015 17:40

kittiker my midwife also said she could feel the top of the babies head. Made it very real for me. Fingers crossed for you.

Yey for nephew hugs leanne

SmileyScooby · 07/05/2015 18:18

Kitty and Blondie any news?

Three hope you get more contractions coming your way :)

apple am glad checkup went ok and am also jealous you got a sweep, I could do with this monkey being evicted, getting heavy now!!

kittiker exciting stuff! What about going out for a nice meal or watching a film at cinema - something that you won't be able to do just you and other half for a while!

So those who've experienced them before how do I know if am having contractions etc or will it be obvious hehe at the mo just fanny daggers and alien like movements happening and feeling heavy at front and down below! Feeling tired today despite getting bit more sleep last night.

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/05/2015 19:03

Ok so 5 mins after having a wee I just rushed to get off sofa as realised I'd put my oven meal in oven with plastic on and my pants are now wet!! Like pretty wet?

No pain yet or anything? Waters or wee?? Hmmm!!

Chookford · 07/05/2015 19:36

sunshine sounds promising... Put a pad on and lay on your side if when you get up again it's still coming out and smells sort of sweet it's your waters!
