Oh Just what an exhausting experience for you. I hope you have your little one in your arms before the day is out! Keep us updated.

Leanne I'd go back to bed if you can! Try and get some rest at least hun.

That is annoying catnip. How far almg are you?

Was in the mood for DTD yesterday and it was actually pretty good! Was nice to feel a bit more intimacy. Lost more plug today and it was definitely different to previous plug loss, like a pinky brown. Hoping it is finally the show!

catnip85 · 04/05/2015 10:19

Yep the birthing ball is def coming out smiley I told DH its time to take one for the team and dtd too Wink Lets get these babies on the move!

P.s. Its so nice be able to talk and good to know none of us are alone. Thanks for the support x

catnip85 · 04/05/2015 10:21

That sounds promising blondie fingers crossed things get going now you've had a show.

I'm 39+3 today. how about you?

mumxof3x · 04/05/2015 10:25

Lots of goings off ladies. Come on stubborn babies :) lol. X

WasabiNuts · 04/05/2015 11:37

Good luck, catnip.
Aw, just, what a palaver. I hope you can get some rest, try and relax - it will help your body do what it needs to do. May the force be with you!

Don't think I'm getting a Star Wars baby today, oh well. Maybe tomorrow!

leanne963 · 04/05/2015 11:40

mum she has gone.back to her normal position now I can feel her back down one side and kicks to the other side, she just loves a good shift! Ha

catnip glad you got to sleep more, shame things have come to a halt! Maybe it will amp up again soon!!

smiley these signs are teasing us now aren't they?! Ha

blondie thanks lovely, my mum just left so I'm gonna have a lie down after some lunch :) I might try DTD if I get desperate even though I am not in the mood at all haha

I have a feeling the next few weeks are going to be looonnnnggggg with all this symptom watching! Might get Netflix just to pass the time!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/05/2015 12:01

Hi threesoundslikealot - thanks for sharing your experience. Can I ask what happened after that 3 days/3cm? How quickly did things move on after that? The midwives said that getting to 5cm with your first often takes the longest.

Am now back monitoring contractions but right back to every every 11mins. Am bouncing on my ball and having a break from my beloved tens in case that helps build up the intensity...

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/05/2015 12:05

Hope everyone else is doing ok - Leanne glad your little girl is back in position. Sending lots of positive vibes to everyone symptom watching. Can highly recommend a birthing ball and tens machine...

Threesoundslikealot · 04/05/2015 12:14

Just, I started with mild contractions on Friday night, after my fourth(!) sweep. They quickly got up to the 3/10/45 that I'd had drummed into me so we called out the midwife (I was having a home birth) and when she examined me I was 2-3cm. I look back now and cringe at even calling her given how gentle the contractions were, but when you've never been in labour before you just go on whatever guidelines you've been given. The midwife spotted it was pretty early labour and told me to relax. From then until Monday I had similar to you. The contractions would get stronger and stronger and more regular, and then die off a bit. We called out a midwife every day when things seemed to be moving, and every time I was 3cm! By Sunday they took pity on me and told me to go ahead and use my birth pool (had been coping on TENS and baths) which really helped. They also worked out that the head was a bit off centre, which meant there wasn't enough pressure on my cervix, and had me dangling upside down off the sofa. Tuesday I was 42 weeks and we all agreed that this couldn't go on forever so I agreed to go into hospital and have my waters broken that day, and for the first time all weekend I tried to sleep on Monday night. Woke up about an hour later with the strongest contractions so far and told DH we had to go to hospital as I needed drugs! He called the midwife out instead and she found I was 5cm. I think my 'active labour' from that point was about 5 hours, including 45 minutes pushing, as DD appeared in time for breakfast.

That midwife is on my team this time round too and she remembers it all very clearly - she often tells first time mums about it to explain how slow and stop-start it can all be. I really feel for you having to go in and out; that sounds stressful and upsetting. Is there any chance a community midwife could examine you at home at all?

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/05/2015 14:43

Thanks Three - that sounds so similar. I really am just so depressed with it all. Contractions seem to once again dropped off and I am struggling to keep motivated. Wish there was more support from midwives at this stage. Waters seem determined to remain in tact!

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/05/2015 14:47

Ps. I am due to see my midwife tomorrow if nothing happens beforehand, so can discuss it all with her then.

mumxof3x · 04/05/2015 15:21

Just my waters have never really gone on there own, first 3 were broke for me, leos stayed intact until fully dilated and only went once i was pushing. When they broke them during labour though it really sped up after that x

KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2015 16:42

Big supportive hug Just-you are doing so well (((hugs)))

Bloody plug sounds promising Blondie-keeping my fingers crossed for you

Lots of luck catnip!!!! [LUCK]

Definitely get Netflix or Amazon Prime Leanne-will come in handy during night feeds Grin

Chookford · 04/05/2015 18:26

Good luck everyone who is showing signs of things happening, hope you don't have to wait too long before babies start to arrive!

Chickenfillets · 04/05/2015 19:54

Hi everyone, I did post on one of these threads ages ago but I completely forgot about them. I'm due the 11th. A week today!! I just want him here now though. I'm having no symptoms that's he's coming any time soon Hmm head not even engaged. Sick of waiting Sad so fed up. Can't get comfy, heartburn from hell, sore hips, apparently have a big baby, I honestly feel like he's never going to come.

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/05/2015 19:54

Good luck catnip and just sorry to hear about the stop/start contractions can't be fun I'm sure! Hope babies arrive soon.

I hope things progress for u too soon blondie is it wrong to be jealous of plug loss?? Blush

wasabi my dp would have loved a Star Wars baby! But still only 38+4 so not holding out much hope it's gonna come soon!

leanne I agree Netflix is the way forward I have powered thru the good wife this maternity leave, great distraction!

Defo may try dtd tonight or tomoro we did last week just for us and it was enjoyable more than what I expected at this stage. And yes to the puffy (lady garden) not attractive lol! Us ladies do get the raw deal when it comes to making babies! Got midwife tomoro can't imagine anything exciting will be said.

Question has anyone experienced really sore knuckles? Mine feel tight and weak when trying to grip things, also hurt during night, thought it may have been carpel tunnel but apparently that affect knuckles in particular!

Sorry for long post, fingers crossed we see some more healthy babies soon Grin

aberjen · 04/05/2015 20:05

sunshine yes!!! My knuckles hurt in the night, they feel really stiff. Mentioned it to GP when I saw her last week and she said it's probably due to fluid around the joints and that it's worse at night as you're not moving so the fluid pools.

Good luck to everyone with signs of labour!

applecore0317 · 04/05/2015 20:56

Sorry to everyone suffering a bit. Still got my fingers crossed that things start moving for you just

sunshine I finally got to DTD and also was surprised that it was enjoyable, Probably helped that it had been 7 months since the last time :D

Chickenfillets My friends baby didn't engage until her waters broke at 40+3 and the contractions started. Doesn't always engage before.

Glad the baby shifted again Leanne, clearly wants to keep you on your toes

Am now only able to wear flip flops and dresses as feet, calves, knees and legs are so puffed up

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/05/2015 22:03

Ahh that's good to know abergen thanks, I've had it a couple of weeks but not spoke to anyone about it. Had to take engagement ring off last week.

apple Yey to also dtd! It's a shame it's had to be so few and far between but just one of those things! Has dtd helped anyone who's had their babies start things off?? Also Booo to swollen feet etc!

Not long to go now for us ladies! We've done this long! :)

Bazza2 · 04/05/2015 22:18

Good luck just and all others suffering and waiting right now.

Hi chicken, back just in time!

I've got my ECV appointment tomorrow. My midwife, nct teacher, and my consultant all think it's the best thing for me, assuming the scan shows that the conditions in there are good for it. I'm pretty nervous though. Midwife advised that I take my hospital bags just in case......

Sunshinesaz86 · 04/05/2015 22:41

Good luck bazza my friend went for one two weeks ago and ended up having c section pretty much there and then as it wasn't possible. Obviously I hope yours all goes well and smoothly. Let us know how u get on x

Bazza2 · 04/05/2015 22:54

Holy crap. Hope they don't do that for me, if only because I still had one last primark trip planned, and I only finished work on Friday! Good job I got five bags of Haribo as part of my leaving present, I think I'll be needing them.

leanne963 · 05/05/2015 01:06

Up again! She is very active kicking all over he place, plus I am getting very very painful fanny daggers, never had them this bad before! Getting like 10 consecutively followed by a small break then loads again! Had to get out of bed and im now sat upright on the sofa to try and get her to change positions. I don't know what to do.....

applecore0317 · 05/05/2015 07:11

Sorry you had a rough night Leanne, hope you managed to get some sleep

Just, thinking of you, hope things are moving along

Good luck with the ECV today bazza, could you nip to primark before the hospital just in case?

KittyVonCatsington · 05/05/2015 08:36

Did she manage to move leanne? So uncomfortable when they are on a nerve!

How have things progressed Just and Blondie?!

Good luck Bazza!!

DTD dos nothing to kick start anything for me sunshine and I've given up on the other things. Just resigned myself to the big long wait, knowing at 41+6 I'll be induced anyway!

Sorry for the puffiness apple - it sucks doesn't it?! I've had to take my engagement ring off (wedding ring still on but won't come off!!) and my vag as puffed up in huge proportions that it rubs together when I walk - grim Grin

40+2 officially overdue Blush. No Star Wars baby here!
