Hello! Have been following this since the start but only brave enough to join now - 8 plus 5 today and heartbeat confirmed on an early scan! Following on from two early miscarriages last year so keeping fingers crossed for now. Hope it's not too late to join. Sorry to all who have had losses on here x

cantthinkofaname87 · 02/05/2015 12:09

Oh and this will (hopefully) be no. 1, due date 12th December x

Withalittlesparkle · 02/05/2015 12:18

Finally invested in a bigger bra before this one cuts of the the circulation!!

chopsface · 02/05/2015 12:24

Never too late to join can! Welcome! Congrats on the heartbeat!

Great news for you too happy! I could feel myself getting emotional reading about your empty sac and definitely wasn't expecting a happy ending there! Brilliant, you must be so relieved!

Yesterday I felt absolutely awful. Today I feel great! I've just Bern on an hour walk in the fresh air, maybe it helped? Plus eating every 5 minutes! Your brunch sounded amazing magic! I need to eat again....

Honey85 · 02/05/2015 15:32

chops we are off to Lanzarote ... Cannot wait! Just been checking all my summery stuff and luckily still fits! Just been and bought some bigger tops for evening and some summery printed joggers in next size up ... I'm all set! Failing that I'll wear linen trousers and leave button undone hehe! Are you all ready? Have a wonderful time! I think I'll be fine food wise for brekkie it's just evening meals I might struggle with but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Congrats Happy, that's amazing news!

I just want to feel human again, feel vile!

ChandlersFarang · 02/05/2015 16:09

Welcome cantthink!! Really hope this bean is a super sticky one for you!!

Happy - my heart was in my mouth reading your update!! I can't believe they could get it so wrong and say that only for it to be totally untrue! What a relief though!!

I have been ok today nausea wise... Nausea subsiding seems to have coincided with constipation ramping up!! Am now so bad am in pain and my belly is swollen! What can I do? Eat a load of dried apricots?! Anyone with any experience? Early pregnancy is SO SEXY

abi2790 · 02/05/2015 17:20

That's great news happy!

Congrats Cantthink!

Waiting I know you mean about the trapped wind! I farted in bed last night and got a horrible pain in my tummy! The trapped wind has seemed to have gotten better on its throughout the day but now I feel really constipated. Does anybody know what I can take if it doesn't get any better?

Jebel · 02/05/2015 17:43

Welcome can and wonderful news happy, what a scary experience but great outcome.

kaffkooks what an annoying experience.

I am firmly in the feeling horrendous camp. I was thinking I am less stoical than last time but looking at the old app I used before, the nausea wasn't 24x7 like I have now. I am eating so much, have put on 2 lbs in the last week! Whatsfor fizzy soury stuff sounds a good plan!

Chandlers not sure about the constipation, downward dog and prune juice? Just wait til after the birth! Loving the book you recommended, so me, I love data!

chops I am in Qatar, have to pay for everything, I have really good health insurance at the moment but that will go with my job so am trying to negotiate keeping it.

waiting me too with the insomnia and being knackered.

For those looking for bras, I bought bravado bras and vest tops last time and they are so comfortable, great for nursing as well. They have adaptors to change them to 'normal' bras after but didn't bother to do that. I am still wearing the vest tops now and they are such good quality, grow with the bump and shrink back down. I don't have any link to them, just can't recommend highly enough!

Metalhead · 02/05/2015 18:30

I'm seriously considering pulling out of my friend's hen do next weekend, I always seem to be feeling worse in the afternoon/evening and currently can't imagine anything worse than trying to make conversation with a lot of people I've only just met for 6 hours whilst trying not to throw up... Would I be a bad friend for not going?! I would of course phone her and explain, and maybe take her out for a meal once I'm feeling better.

chopsface · 02/05/2015 18:58

metal you need to do what's best for you x

I've been feeling worried today as my nausea has vanished! Read too much about symptoms stopping and mmc. I felt a bit crap this morning but all week I've had all day nausea. I know I should be feeling grateful I'm having a good day but you can't help but worry can you?! It might have been due to a combination of a good nights sleep and not getting up for work, eating plenty (again helped by not being in work in a lab environment and not being able to snack) and fresh air and exercise (walked to the hairdresser and back, 25mins each way) Have also been resting all afternoon. This is it right? Nothing is wrong yeah? Confused

Metalhead · 02/05/2015 19:08

It might well be a combination of all those things that made you feel better today chops, or you might have just had a random good day. I felt hardly any nausea at all on Thursday, then back with a vengeance yesterday and today it's sort of been coming and going. Try and distract yourself if you can.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 02/05/2015 19:57

Hi all, sorry some of you are feeling grim, hope it eases soon.

I would avoid a hen if poss, I've got some coming up but they are good friends and I know they will be relaxed ones.

I always tell people if I have to, but ibky close friends I would look to for support if something goes wrong.

It's no fun at all being on a boozy hen with people you don't know well enough to tell.

FlorIxora · 02/05/2015 20:01

Happy that's wonderful.

I have had the roughest 18 hours. so ill with a stomach ulcer which suddenly came back after months of not bothering me. I can't take the usual meds because of bean.

I am so miserable. Seriously have no idea how I would have survived today without myhusband's help.

I will catch up on the thread once I feel better.

Fizzie100 · 02/05/2015 20:18

Feeling so sick over here....lemon ice lollies and pasta getting me through.....still getting a racing heart at points too. On top of that sneezing constantly. Eugh just feel rubbish!

chopsface · 02/05/2015 20:48

Hope you have a good day soon flo, fizzie and metal and anyone else feeling poorly.

I cannot get enough food, I'm constantly hungry with a proper grumbling tummy! or the grumbling might be something to do with the masses of gas

Magickal · 02/05/2015 21:25

Honey, we're going to Lanzarote at half term - never been there before. It'll be just me & DS. I had no idea I'd be pg but am glad I booked it when I did. We've never had a 'proper' summer holiday like this - we've always stayed with relatives, visited friends or gone camping. A week, all inclusive in the sun with the sea and pool was much needed. Will be nice to have some 1:1 time with him, especially now there is another on it's way.

Hope sickness eases off for those feeling unwell still.

Jebel · 03/05/2015 07:03

chops I had off and on nausea last time, it would go for a few days and then come back. It is normal.

Flor that is rubbish, hope you are feeling better today.

Fizzie I get a racing heart when I try to sleep

Metal as long as you explain to the bride it should be fine, this is the time you can and have to focus on you

I got up at 6am, took DD to nursery (normal working day here) and am now back in bed. Tomorrow I will make an effort to look for jobs but just feeling so rotten, there have to be some benefits to unemployment?!

chopsface · 03/05/2015 07:26

Thanks jebel that made me feel a bit better x

Woken up early and starving! Breasts were at their sorest last night so that's still a positive thing right?

Anyone doing anything nice today and tomorrow? Hope your sickness doesn't impede too much. We are just going to the shops for snacks and currency to take away on Tuesday. I'm hoping the bureau de change is open today! I don't usually leave things this last minute honest!

Withalittlesparkle · 03/05/2015 08:03

Welcome cantthink congrats

I'm being treated to a glorious lie I by DH and DS (if only DS hadn't woken at 2.30 as well) wide awake feeling sick and gassy! Pregnancy is lovely!!

So plans today but we'd hoped to get out for some fresh air, listening to the rain lashing against the window that isn't likely to happen today

On and ladies who are at/nearing the 8 week mark but feeling like time is going super slow, just think, you're two thirds of the way through your first trimester Grin

Metalhead · 03/05/2015 08:50

That's a good point sparkle, when you put it like that it doesn't sound so bad!

We're taking DD to the cinema this morning, then she has swimming later and tonight DH is cooking us a nice lasagne. Hoping the weather tomorrow will be better so we can go to the park with some friends.

I think I've made my decision and will cancel the hen do, just can't face it at the moment.

shinysparklythings · 03/05/2015 09:28

Morning all, I hope you have a less grim day to those of you feeling rubbish.

I went to York to watch the cycling yesterday with the hubby which was a lovely day out.

Supposed to be going to a picnic in the park with work today, however it's been chucking it down for at least the last 3 hours and shows no sign of stopping. Hmm

shinysparklythings · 03/05/2015 09:29

Ah, I got a text saying it's been cancelled as soon as I pressed post!

chopsface · 03/05/2015 09:31

I needn't have worried, nausea is back with avengence Confused

Withalittlesparkle · 03/05/2015 10:45

Chops I remember this happening so much first time round, I'd feel fine one more and worry then by the afternoon the sickness would catch up with me! Totally normal!!

FeedTheBirds33 · 03/05/2015 13:17

Bought some Sea Bands yesterday and I'd definitely recommend them if you haven't tried them. I woke up at 3am last night, rolled on to my RHS and nearly threw up on a soundly sleeping DH. I reached for the sea bands, ate a cracker (a packet of crackers lives on my bed side table now!) and slept soundly for the rest of the night. That's the first time it wasn't my bladder that woke me up!
