I didn't have much experience with babies until I had DS. I don't think experience with other people's babies can prepare you for having your own. It is all consuming and totally life changing. Cliche I know but it's true! I enjoyed having a newborn and I know It'l be different this time. Hopefully I'm more prepared!

I didn't read any parenting books, it does come naturally to some extent and plus you have this group to help you muddle through. My October 13 bus literally got me through!!

I seem to feel sick an hour after iv eaten so I can never tell what's going to set it off. Poor DP says he's hardly seen me but iv been in bed by 8 every night so far. Really excited for the 12 week scans to start coming round.

ineedsomeinspiration · 26/04/2015 18:54

serenity problem with the wedding we're going to is I don't want people to know but I have a tummy anyway (thanks ds) and with the bloating look proper pregnant. The dress I was going to wear will not work, don't want to buy maternity as will make me look more pregnant and don't want to spend a fortune on something new.

BoobsTooBig · 26/04/2015 20:21

Having a total freak out guys I'm having stomache cramps!!! And that's what I had two days before my Miscarrage. So I'm very very worried, It was my DS 1st Birthday today so we had a lovely day until now Confused

BoobsTooBig · 26/04/2015 20:23

Inneedofinsperation I couldn't agree more about the clothing thing lots of people noticing my bloat even with a poncho on!

ThreeBeanRap · 26/04/2015 20:26

claremcrory you're not alone, I have really dry skin on my back particularly too. Putting tons of moisturiser on.

This is my first baby too, I have quite a lot of experience with babies and children but am fully aware this is not the same as having your own! Nervous/excited in equal measures.

ThreeBeanRap · 26/04/2015 20:36

Boobs don't panic. Lots of people have cramping early on and it may well not mean anything at all - call your GP tomorrow if you're not feeling any better?

BoobsTooBig · 26/04/2015 20:41

It's not cramping though it's stomach cramps and I know I never got them with DS and it's usually a pretty clear early sign .. I really hope I'm wrong and I'm just feeling them in the wrong place..

Fizzie100 · 26/04/2015 21:10

Hey everyone hope you've all had a nice weekend. I've not been around for a few days as have been feeling really anxious. Really hoping all is well at early scan in a couple of weeks. Sending love to all xx

megarobotdiscoparty · 26/04/2015 21:34

Crossing my fingers and toes for you tomorrow toadie Star

Twinwife · 26/04/2015 21:42

Inspiration I am a bridesmaid in 5 weeks when I will be 13 weeks, I have bloated out and my dress has no wiggle room now... I hope a seamstress can work wonders if necessary.

Boobs I hope the cramping eases and good luck to Toadie for tomorrow.

Can't quite keep up with the speed of this bus!

Withalittlesparkle · 26/04/2015 21:54

Boobs maybe you've just overdone it today? Try and get some rest, call EPU first thing in the morning

Fizzie100 · 26/04/2015 22:13

Toadie will be thinking of you tomorrow x
Chops, it's my First too, all being well. Hard to believe it's real though so fingers crossed all is ok. It was around this point that I MC so hoping more than anything this one works out.
Is anyone else having a racing heart now and again?! Or just me?
Hope everyone has a good week. How slowly is time going?! Gahh!
X

oceanlady · 26/04/2015 22:28

This is my first too! Thinking that tiny human being and their welfare is going to be entirely my responsibility is rather scary!!!!

Is it wrong that I devoured a huge McDonald's today as it was the only I fancied?? Confused

TerryTheGreenHorse · 26/04/2015 23:41

Best of luck for tomorrow Toadie x

FlorIxora · 26/04/2015 23:43

Evening, I hope you all had a nice Sunday. Boobs - I really hope it's a false alarm. Flowers I have had so much cramping that sometimes it feels as though bleeding is imminent.

For the first time in 2-3 weeks I have managed to hit my step goal today. (I also had to toast a couple of crumpets an hour ago as I was starving despite enormous breakfast and gigantic late roast lunch)

it's been a less painful day today but nausea kicked in after my big meal.

6 weeks tomorrow!!! I cannot wait for the scan at 7+1. We've decided we'll tell our mums after the viability scan.

Met a friend for lunch today who was most suspicious of mine and OH's newly-found sobriety. The official line is we're on a health kick. I am not sure she bought it.

Other than not to out until week 12, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to fob my friends off.

What are your excuses/tricks to fool loved ones?

I'm from Europe and I am dying to tell my sis and my mum. Is anyone else going to have to announce their big news on skype? It breaks my heart a little that the two female relative I am closest to I won't be able to hug on the day I give them the news. The alternative would be to wait until we're in the same country but that could mean waiting until September which is not an option.

BoobsTooBig · 27/04/2015 01:33

Florlxora I really hope so too have to wait 2 weeks and three days for my privately booked early scan. Wishing and hoping for the very best. We have the same dates I'm also 6weeks well today now as it's Monday! :) this is my second baby and it's really a bit difficult to lie as friend and family knew we would start thinking about baby number 2 around our DS's 1st Birthday soo it's not easy as now I'm having to wear as loose clothing as possible because my bloating is so bad I look a good 4/5 months pregnant by the afternoon! PIL are staying with us from Abroad and keep catching them looking at my belly... I just complain about feeling bloated and how since I had my DS when I bloat I BLOAT.
Best of luck with your scan next week! X

ChandlersFarang · 27/04/2015 01:44

Fizz - my heart is totally racing too! I keep waking up from vivid dreams (inc one yesterday in which DH left me, the bastard) with it beating so fast i have to do breathing exercises to calm it down! Weird!! Am a bit of a gym loser usually, but this is putting me off jogging etc!

Boobs - really hope the stomach cramping is nothing to worry about. Are you going to get it checked out?

Chops - thanks for the app tip, it's downloading now! Smile

Flor - yes, I'm in the Skype boat too. Well, not as badly as you if there's no chance you can see people until Sept... but we will be living here in Thailand until I'm 14 weeks (hopefully, if I'm still preg in June!!). At first, we both said we would def wait til we arrive back in the UK to tell anyone at all, inc family, just because the timing is quite perfect what with it being after the 12wk scan and having reunions with everyone already in the diary. However that feels a LONG time away, and there's a really lovely story in that this bean was conceived the same month my Dad's dad died so there's a bit if a circle-of-life feeling to it - and like someone mentioned, some good news in otherwise gloomy times! But if anything went wrong after telling, there'd bed double gloom, which would be worse! Argh!

Woken up at 07:15 and feeling quite suspiciously OK - I think I might be becoming another evening sufferer!! Confused

ChandlersFarang · 27/04/2015 02:41

Crossed post there Boobs!! God it just be hard work hiding it when you have people staying with you!! Shock not too long to wait til your early scan and congrats on 6 weeks!

Flor - where in Europe are you from?

orangemouth281 · 27/04/2015 06:16

I decided to tell my mum on the phone last night because I am visiting her next weekend and I knew she would have a cider waiting for me! I didn't bother with skype because this will be her 3rd new grandchild of 2015 so I'm not sure I would have received a big reaction! I have also told my sister as she is 16 weeks pg. I would want to tell them both if something went wrong and it's nice to have people to talk to and to ask for advice.

DD did not have a good nights sleep and I'm feeling a bit nauseous this morning for the first time, or maybe I'm just tired!

Jebel · 27/04/2015 06:29

Florixora we also have to break the news via Skype. We have already told our parents and sisters as if something goes wrong will want their support.

Chandlers I am off to Phuket when I am 10+ weeks. Do you know if you can get the Harmony test done in Thailand? It is £1000 in Qatar vs £500 in the UK. If I can get it done in Thailand it will be the right time and I am sure it will be cheaper just couldn't find many details.

I have my 7 week scan on Thursday, counting the minutes!

shinysparklythings · 27/04/2015 07:00

Good luck this morning toadie, and fx everything is ok for you too boobs.

Flor I'm not sure how I will be telling my mum, both in uk but she is 300 odd miles and a ferry trip, which I just can't fit in and I get bad car sick at the best of times this will be her first grandchild too. Waiting till after the 12 week scan because we found out the week my grandad mums dad passed away and don't want to upset mum if something goes wrong.

chopsface · 27/04/2015 08:10

Morning ladies

Hope you're feeling ok this morning boobs?

Good luck with the scan toadie

Also 6 weeks today and as if on cue I feel really sick this morning! I was in the kitchen, my porridge was going round in the microwave and I was popping my lunch items in my bag. I was feeling more and more nauseous but I thought as soon as I started eating my breakfast I would be ok.... The microwave hadn't even pinged and I had to come upstairs and hug the bowl! I've called in sick today but I know I can't do this every day! Feels like I may bring up porridge but I'm making it stay down! Really wish we were not goin on holiday next week now :-(

FlorIxora · 27/04/2015 08:41

I'm from France. not a million miles away but I've already been 3 times this year due to various occasions. Just don't have the time/can't afford to go again until next occasion. I'm hoping my mum books the eurostar the minute she finds out. It will be her first GC (fingers crossed).

So I had to switch to a "fat" dress this morning but my boobs still feel so squished. I was planning on buying any clothes until it was time for maternity wear, but at this rate I'm going to have to. I reckon I'lI need a new bra by next week anyway.

I have not been sleeping well, I am so uncomfortable. I normally sleep on my front but damn boobs are getting in the way and now when I sleep on my side I get pubic bone pain.

Happy 6 weeks to those who share my dates exactly! That much time again and we can relax into this a little hopefully.

Serenity05 · 27/04/2015 08:43

Florlxora I'm going to have to tell my family over Skype as well (going to do it later this week). My parents are in the UK but a few hours and an expensive train ride away. Annoyingly my mum was actually up here for Easter, just before we found out! I'm not going to see them until June and I don't want to wait that long. Also both my grandmothers died in April last year so I want to brighten up the sad memories they're both having right now. I do wish I could tell them in person but at least on Skype I can see their faces.

Boobs how are you feeling this morning? Keeping everything crossed for you.
