Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

MelonMelon · 17/05/2015 09:15

Stupid! Well this is a good start....

dojo123 · 17/05/2015 09:25

Morning ladies.

heir forgot to say, love the dress, very pretty.

babs sorry you're feeling so sick. Hope eating more regularly is working for you.

chops enjoy telling your parents today. DH told his parents yesterday afternoon. I've never seen FIL stuck for words for 5min and then spent the rest of the afternoon singing.

The only couple we were nervous to tell was dh's brother and SIL. They had a ectopic mc in December 2013 and have struggle to get pg since. They were lovely but I know they were hurting.

chopsface · 17/05/2015 09:34

Hi melon! I felt almost completely normal (albeit with mild hangover symptoms as the first week post bfp passed) until about 5+5 when nausea kicked in. Don't worry about lack of symptoms they'll be here soon enough! Lol

Mummy and daddy were chuffed to bits for us dojo! My 9 year old niece was at her grandparents yesterday, we didn't know she was gonna be there when we arrived so the announcement didn't happen the way we planned. Had to wait for niece to go off and play before whipping out the early scan of our blob! My mum was like "you never are!!!"

Hi melon!

Congratulations! What super news. Are you part of the fb bfp group too? (I'm absolutely shocking at the mn/real name thing)

girls thanks for answering my intimate question!

Dojo, so happy for you about family reaction. I'm sure your dhs brother and wife will be thrilled for you. But I understand your trepidation.

I have a group of 3 friends from school. They all married earlier than dh and I (4 years ago), but one has struggled for years to conceive. She told me at our wedding 7 months ago, that they were starting Ivf, which obviously given the time since was unsuccessful. She hasn't mentioned it since. One of the other girls has just announced she is expecting no. 2. I am worried about telling her our news next month. I kind of feel a bit like I've skipped the queue.

MelonMelon · 17/05/2015 09:51

Hi babs

No I'm not in the fb group just on here Smile

wotsits1 · 17/05/2015 10:39

Congrats Melon and welcome!!!! Grin

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 17/05/2015 11:33

Congrats melon

Giddymamma · 17/05/2015 12:01

Lovely news melon! Congratulations! X

MelonMelon · 17/05/2015 17:24

Thank you Smile

Really confused about my dates. I used to have a textbook 28 day cycle but since January they've ranged from 28 to 40 last month. I don't know when I Ovd but on CD21 I had a load of ewcm that took me by surprise! plus my test on Friday (CD30) was so faint I'm wondering if I ovd really late and im not as far gone as I think? Seeing my GP on Wednesday so will mention it but if anyone had any wise words let me know!

wotsits1 · 17/05/2015 18:24

Melon I'm a bit the same and its frustrating. I'm actually 6 days behind the dates the hospital are using... because I know when I ovd. But they insist on using the dates of your period. I would just go with your last AF and they will correct it at your 12 week dating scan.

chopsface · 17/05/2015 19:25

You can't always use your LMP as dating though. One of my FB BFP buddies has PCOS and only ovulated twice over 12 months. She's 9+1 according to when she ovd but about 6 months if she went by her last period lol!

wotsits1 · 18/05/2015 07:41

You can't use your LMP for dating at all!! lol. But the NHS do until your 12 week scan. Then they correct things according to the little bean.

I reckon when I go for my scan I'll be 5 or 6 days behind what my LMP says. We'll see though, right!

wotsits1 · 18/05/2015 10:14

Sooooo I'm totally 'off' chocolate (Im usually a chocoholic who eats nutella for breakfast and I haven't even looked at chocolate for a week!) and I just tried to eat a slice of butter baguette but it smelled like spunk.

Bleeeugh!!!

Giddymamma · 18/05/2015 12:06

Bless you wotsits. I seem to have mainly passed the sicky phase where I would only eat cheese sandwiches, cheese on toast, pasta with cheese... I'm trying to ram my self full of vitamins and goodness now. Made a huge load of gazpacho soup yesterday. Think that might be my lunchtime staple for a while. Oh's birthday so he wants a takeaway tonight. Curry is full of goodness and vitamins isn't it?!

MelonMelon · 18/05/2015 12:11

How dreadful wotsits

Today's weird symptom for me along with my daily headache is a very keen sense of smell! I didn't wash my hair this morning (normally do every day but not at work so couldn't be bothered) and I can smell it! Urgh!

chopsface · 18/05/2015 12:39

Urgh can't even look at chocolate either!

Sense of smell is more acute but not as overwhelming as I thought it might be. Really hate the smell of fresh washing! Lol!

Melon have you done a clearblue digital with weeks indicator? That might give you a clue how far gone you are!

Yokyil · 18/05/2015 13:13

Feeling woeful here at this end too. It's a struggle getting through the working day. I constantly feel like in gonna vom, dunno what to eat that doesn't make me wanna heave or that the smell of puts me right off! Lay on the sofa nearly all day yesterday feeling sorry for myself that the lovely cubed garlic potatoes dh got I couldn't even be in the same room as....was walking about with something over my nose! Please tell me this will pass Sad

HeirToTheIronThrone · 18/05/2015 13:15

Oh yes the sense of smell! They only empty the bins in my offixe twice a week to save costs, so today I am getting wafts of bin [vomit face]

MelonMelon · 18/05/2015 14:06

wotsits no I'm not spending any more money on tests now. Seeing my GP on Wednesday (ironically enough to get my 21 blood results) so will lay it on thick about my date confusion and see what he says

tessiegirl · 18/05/2015 16:42

Lovely to see you here Melon!

Sorry to all those of you feeling yucky. I have been very lucky and only start feeling sicky in the evenings. Although sometimes it takes me forever to finish my dinner!

Purple yes I will be having the baby back in the UK. All being well I plan to be back home from around 7 months or so...

dojo123 · 18/05/2015 18:36

Sorry lots of you are suffering with food aversions and smell triggers.
I managed to eat red meat again yesterday after being off it for the past few weeks. But still have no clue what I fancy. Have bunged a couple of potatoes in the oven hoping a jacket and cheese will do later.

Feeling a bit torn today. When I told my parents our news at the weekend I also mentioned our early mc in Jan. Mum seemed fine and understanding about it but then I got a message from her today asking why I went to my sis for support and not her.
My mum doesn't know my sis is trying let alone about her iVF and that it hasn't worked. My mum mc'd her 4th child at 16wks, not finding out until 20wks and didn't really have any support from family and friends (her mum died of cancer when she was pregnant with my brother #2) my dad was also away at sea at the time.
It's not my place to tell my mum about my sis and I wouldn't want to either but I don't want my mum to feel hurt either.

wotsits1 · 18/05/2015 18:39

Dojo Have you told your sister about your mum? I agree... I wouldnt tell her about your sister. But maybe have a word with your sister about how your mum is feeling.

I always think... if my dd was having these probs in 20 years time, I'd want to be able to be there for her. You can't protect your children from hurting - but you can try to cushion the blow.

MelonMelon · 18/05/2015 18:50

I'm so scared. Having some sharp pains that last for a few seconds then go. Is this normal? I'm so worried I'm going to lose another baby Sad
