Wall stickers are a great idea to make a temporary decoration!

LaLaLaaaa · 17/04/2015 07:44

Morning! I've ordered some peel off stickers from eBay - seller has excellent reviews. They are animal ones and so cute!

Etsy has good selection but more expensive. Beware the really cheap ones as they don't stick

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 07:47

Ikea sells wall stickers as well!

LaLaLaaaa · 17/04/2015 07:48

Had to go to hospital yesterday for monitoring because I had pain in my back and bump. Everything is fine, baby kicked so hard the monitor lads wouldn't stay on.

But I got lecture about doing too much and tests taken to check for uti

LaLaLaaaa · 17/04/2015 07:50

these are the ones I bought

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 07:58

la, those are gorgeous!

broodylicious · 17/04/2015 08:02

I bought a lovely wall sticker for dd's old bedroom. It wasn't pictures but said "twinkle twinkle little star, do you know how loved you are?" Bit fiddly to do but looked fab. We won't be decorating baby's room until we believe s/he is ready to move into their own room at six/seven months (as you probably remember, we moved house seven months ago and it's a major project job so got other more pressing priorities than decorating a room that won't be used until at least Feb).

Btw off topic but kitchen floor is being completed today. Cannot wait!! After this, we've just got blinds to get (not easy as two big windows plus French doors in a glazed bay and back door all need them!), the plinths to get on and new room doors to be hung. Taken forever four months to get to this point so it'll be so good to fully use the whole room!

How exciting broody!

Thanks fatty :) I'm really excited! We rent so I'm limited on what we can do

Fleurchamp · 17/04/2015 08:08

Loving the wall stickers! I have see some on etsy and they are really quite expensive- will look on eBay. Our baby's room is just being decorated atm, I love the colour (a light grey) and can't wait to get the cot and start making it a proper room even though I know he/she won't actually sleep in it for a few months yet.

Had the worst night's sleep ever, uncomfortable, indigestion, you name it. I also have the busiest day at work ahead and can barely function Sad

At least it's almost the weekend!

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 08:08

la, do you have a strict decorating policy then?
We used to rent as well, but were always free to decorate however we wanted. They work by the assumption that any new people in a house will want to redecorate anyway, so they don't care if you paint your walls bright green.

Zampa · 17/04/2015 08:12

Very cute stickers Lala.

Sympathies Fleur. Also had a poor night's sleep and woke up feeling hungover without the benefit of a fun night. Boo!Sad

Aretepetite · 17/04/2015 08:40

Morning
Terrible sleep here too.
Woke at 5 with a really sore back, I guess that's the baby moving during the night.

Those Stickers are so cute La they will look excellent on. :)

Happy new kitchen Broody enjoy it :)

I've been eating porridge in the morning recently and lo goes absolutely hyper right after. I think she likes it Grin

beno57 · 17/04/2015 08:46

terrible nights sleep here too. Indigestion is hitting this week! gaviscon is going back in my handbag for regular swigs!

We have finally had fitted wardrobes installed in our bedroom this week. Which means the dressing room will change to a nursery and so I can start on with that :) I'm just a little bit excited about finally creating a space for the bubba!

MustBeLoopy390 · 17/04/2015 08:52

Loving those stickers! We're moving a few weeks after baby is born into a (fingers crossed council) house so will finally be able to decorate Smile all our rentals so far have been very strict and we can't actually settle as we're either not offered an extension (no reason given) or the rent increases too much so we've never bothered Confused hoping the council have somewhere we can make into our long term home :) had my phone call from the doctors today, the WC jab will have benefits for me and baby, so we're booked in. The midwife who told me it wouldn't is being 'spoken to' as if she didn't know she should have asked a nurse/Dr in the surgery rather than just guess. Feeling very positive about all this and hoping care becomes more routine/up to standard. On the bright side though after next Wednesday I only have 3 more midwife appointments unless I go to 41 weeks Smile getting excited now

Naturegirl82 · 17/04/2015 09:57

Glad it's all sorted must. It makes sense to me that it would still be beneficial but very dangerous of the MW to say that. What if you hadn't followed it up and bothered getting it! Your baby would have been put at unnecessary risk so glad she is being spoken to and advised on what to do/say in the future.

charlieis30 · 17/04/2015 10:03

Another one for the sh*t sleep club. Terrible headaches all through the night, think I didn't drink enough water yesterday. Feeling crap today.

Re stickers, also try notonthehighstreet.com I think they have some good choices. We rent as well, were very lucky and managed to convince landlord to at least repaint the room plain white (it had been magnolia and VERY grimy, hadn't been redone in at least 10 years). Baby's room is also our spare room where my mum is going to stay so going for a neutral grey/white/yellow "theme". Baby will be in with us for at least 4-6 mo but I still feel the need to decorate! :) I'm hoping she will sleep overnight in ours but do naps in her room, part of my grand plan to get her used to day/night as early as poss

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 10:23

My dad is mowing the lawn and my mother is helping with the laundry. Excellent!

jmojo · 17/04/2015 10:34

Charlie i am hoping the same with our nursery, use it during the day at first, but I also figure useful at night if I need a place to nappy change etc if DH has a big day at work the next day and needs to get back to sleep ASAP.

Charliej86 · 17/04/2015 10:39

Aww I had a good nites sleep for a change. Feel for you that had a bad sleep.

I have no exciting nursery to decorate, baby will be in with us for as long as we can as he will have to share with ds in the box room. We have oh's 16yo niece living with us so she shares with dd 9yo. We don't know how things will go really. If she goes home then the boys will go into big room and dd into box room.
We are currently trying to figure out where we are going to store baby's clothes, oh is clearing out bottom of his wardrobe to fit in a chest of drawers for baby clothes.

We private rent and were allowed to decorate with the understanding we return to neutral when/if we leave. We have stayed very neutral anyway with only 1 coloured wall in living room.

broodylicious · 17/04/2015 13:29

Nice work fatty, send them over when they're done, plenty of work for them here Wink

Loving all the suggestions for wall stickers...la those stickers are so cute! And glad to hear baby is okay :)

For those mentioning awful sleep... I was like that too until I've started using my wedge pillow that came with my maternity support pillow. The relief when my bump is on the wedge! Grin

Also nice to hear of everyone having stuff done in their house...I was having a guilty moment thinking of everything I'm making hubby do before the arrival

I have a wedding to attend tonight... First announcement to DH entire extended family/guests of about 400! That we're expecting. So nervous!

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 17:19

broody, I am so very lucky with them! My dad mowed the lawn (both back and front yards) and planted some big plants for me. My mum helped me sort clothing and has taken a bag of ironing with her. She also folded quite a lot of things that I never get around to. Smile

Fattycow · 17/04/2015 17:19

lewaney, have fun at the wedding!

MustBeLoopy390 · 17/04/2015 17:32

Have fun at the wedding Lewaney Smile
spent this afternoon at the local boating lake, dh was not kidding when he said he wasn't good at rowing Grin going to spend this evening nipping over to tesco to go craving shopping... Lots of peaches! Then going to chill with dh and ds (dd is visiting her bio dad this weekend) and watch the Jurassic Park films. Hoping it's sunny this weekend, I fancy a few chilled evenings in beer garden with mil, dil, dh and ds Smile

broodylicious · 17/04/2015 17:56

Kitchen/diner floor all done!! (Excuse the mess in the diner pic) So plinths and doors are next, then blinds :)
