Thanks ladies - had a much better day on Friday and finished painting the nursery yesterday so feeling a lot better now. You are all right but sometimes I just get worked up and struggle to calm down. C'est la vie pour la femme enciente!

I was thinking of the Momymoo Maia for changing. Bit pricey I guess but if I'm going to be taking it everywhere I thought I would like to look nice and last. I will check out your suggestions too.

Lewaney3 · 10/05/2015 20:55

Broody I purchased a fabulous cooling feet spray From Avon last summer but don't know if it was discontinued as I bought it in the sale brochure.

Thanks for all the changing bag suggestions... One of the last purchases left!

Have you all decided on baby names? We've chosen twin A name but have a short list for twin B... With the countdown worried that he'll remain nameless or even more annoyingly just be labelled twin!

Had such an urge to clean today. House is spotless and the baby wardrobe looks so cute with all their baby clothes hanging... I've even colour co ordinated and put them in age range.... I full well know this will be the last time they're so organised..Grin but hey ho!

broodylicious · 10/05/2015 21:38

Ooh thanks lewaney, id not thought of Avon. I'll check that out.

Re names - we have one girls name too scared to share, is that silly? Should I just put it out there? and three boys names but I think we are both settled on our fave of the three boys names. Things do change often here though so v likely it'll be none of them by time The Big Day comes! Our dd is called Poppy but we certainly aren't bothered about fitting this baby's name with her. Eg if it's a girl, we won't be continuing the flower theme! Also not arsed about the popularity tables either - if I loved Olivia, I'd just call her Olivia, regardless of the fact it's been top ten for yonks!

The baby name discussion still ongoing between OH and I. Our shortlist has grown from 3 to 8 and he's gone off my top choice Sad

Love the idea of having nursery painted and clothes hung up - great work guys. We picked up travel system, lots of my nephew's old clothes and some other bits from my brother this weekend so we finally have quite a bit of baby stuff but it's all just piled up in the room that will become the nursery. Need to clear stuff out, paint and get new furniture in... Suddenly July doesn't seem so far away!

Hello ladies! I'm happy to report that I did get something for Mother's Day yesterday!

Fattycow · 11/05/2015 10:12

Thankfully DH and I have sorted out the names ages ago. Now we just need to wait for another 5 to 10 weeks to see which one we need!

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 12:15

We made some progress this weekend...

Purchased the Hensvik changing table from IKEA - which is only £60 and converts into a deep shelving unit afterwards, so can be re-purposed for storing DD books and toys. It took a long time to put it together but it looks great. Have laid it out with their drawer fabric boxes, changing mat and toiletries, nappies, muslins etc. Looks so cute!

Also DH got his 'paternity' satchel from BabaBing. He was insistent we should have a unisex changing bag as he will be using it too. I really like it - lots of useful sections and a quick access panel, plus it has an integrated 'bin' section. Was bloomin expensive at £55 but we had a £50 John Lewis voucher (compensation due to bodged order) so really only cost us a fiver.

We have also decided on a name for our DD. I will be brave and share with you guys - it's Emmeline - we both love it and I like the suffragette connection. Plus the nicknames are nice (Emmy, Millie) although we plan to use the full name. It is pronounced "Emma-Leen" but I'm sure people will struggle. Also I'm sure people will hear it as "Emily" so I will spend my life correcting them. Hey ho. We are not telling anyone in RL though. If we are having a boy instead (unlikely fingers crossed!) we are screwed as my best friend has just named her newborn our chosen boys name and we can't agree on another name!

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 12:18

P.s. got my obstetrician appointment this afternoon. Fingers crossed they will allow me to go through the midwife route (I have pre-existing medical issues) as this pregnancy has gone very smoothly and I haven't experienced any problems to date. Will let you know how it goes.

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 12:24

broody I have some avent cooling gel for pregnant women with aloe vera my cousin gave me. That is safe for pregnant women.

Ladies doing up their nurseries - I decided not to go overboard on buying loads of cutesy baby themed decorations and furniture. I figured the baby will be a toddler before I know it, with their own tastes! I've tried to stick to neutral where I can and furniture that can be re-purposed, like my changing unit/ shelving unit. The Malm chest of drawers from Ikea are a popular alternative to a changing table as they are the perfect height (I think the 4 drawer is best). The curtains I have chosen are more little girl than baby, but I'm buggered if I'm having a boy!!

Zampa · 11/05/2015 16:27

That's a great name Lucky. DP and I are also looking to the Pankhursts for inspiration but have put Sylvia on the long list.

MustBeLoopy390 · 11/05/2015 17:15

After a bit of a scare today with a little bleed and some pains I'm on my way home, I'm apparently doing too much and need to slow down Sad loving some of the names :) we've chosen Sebastian for our little guy :)

Fattycow · 11/05/2015 19:04

loopy, feet up missus!

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 19:19

zampa there are some great names from that period
loopy make sure you get plenty of rest, hope you feel better soon

Obstetrician appt today was a success! They have passed me back to community midwives and said I'm one of the lucky third whose condition improves in pregnancy! They have also given green light to breastfeed (which they weren't sure about safety of before) so I'm really happy about that!

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 19:25

fattycow happy mothers day for yesterday. it seems the whole world celebrated it yesterday according to my FB feed - except the UK - ours is in March. Wonder why that is??

Zampa love the name Sylvia, so pretty. I do like a lot of old-fashioned names. Considered Florence which I know is really popular now

Butler4 · 11/05/2015 19:28

Oh loopy we love Sebastian for a boy but it doesn't really go with our surname which is a shame. Hope you are resting and being looked after

Fattycow · 11/05/2015 19:30

lucky, the UK calculates Mother's Day in relation to lent. The rest of the world has settled on the second Sunday in May. Way more convenient, as it is very easy to calculate yourself when it is every year. Wink

MrsFbabyNo1 · 11/05/2015 19:46

Lucky, just looked the Hensvik are lovely and v adaptable so good buy! Plus I knew how to pronounce that name before you said, so maybe more people than you think will know too. Always loved a similar name from actress Evangeline Lilly (was a big Lost fan back in the day)! Both are beautiful.

Loopy rest up and take it easy, before we all nag you!

No name changes here (yet!) might try and add more to it. We have a top few:-
Sebastian (snap loopy - it's a good choice)
Elliott

Then possibly:-
Monty
Rupert
Hugo (MrF not keen really)

Plus on Saturday we had such a fun afternoon with a local photographer doing a bump photoshoot. Also booked a newborn photoshoot with her too - more excited than ever now for seeing our little man...

SparklyPenguin · 11/05/2015 19:58

Haha, Sebastian's top of our list too (also considering Byron or Michael). loopy take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. Wish we had room for a changing table!

fattymcfatfat · 11/05/2015 20:03

some great names. my DS2 is going to be Nathan. I already have Bernadette as you all know and my DS is Alex. Grin
I love maximus aswell but don't think it goes with my surname.
my brother on the other hand wanted me to name him after Japanese anime characters. Hmm so kakarot was top of his list for my child!

fattymcfatfat · 11/05/2015 20:04

oh and love Michael but their Dad said absolutely not as he won't have a child named after him.

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 20:25

Sebastian is really lovely. Great names MrsF I like all your shortlist names, Hugo is lovely, Also liked Miles and Milo, Joel too. I love Evangeline, always wanted to name my daughter that since watching House of Elliot as a child, but Evie, Eva etc just too popular nowadays where I live.

Fattycow thanks for the explanation re: mothers day. We should align ours with ROW really

Luckystar82 · 11/05/2015 20:26

ROW rest of world (sorry for using abbreviations (I just remembered you don't like it fatty!)

Fattycow · 11/05/2015 22:02

Abbreviations can be really confusing for me, as English isn't my first language.

Both my DH and I like Dragonball, but our child will most certainly not get a name from that!

Fattycow · 11/05/2015 22:56

My friend just made me promise not to give my child a ridiculous middle name. Grin

fattymcfatfat · 11/05/2015 23:01

fattycow his theory was we could then nickname him goku! I told him when he has his own children then he can pick any name he wants but not allowed to pick for my children Grin
