The last one was getting too long again. There's just no stopping us!

I too am tired of the size of my bump. It's getting harder and harder to walk. Feels like baby is lying right down on my ladybits. Ouch.

Had another scan this morning and my placenta hasn't moved, which I think will mean a caesarean - got to go see doctor on monday. If you have a planned caesarean, do they do it earlier than your due date?

So much for my touchy feely antenatal classes and breathing exercises.

Oh no poor elibean! What a nightmare. B*stards.

Elibean, so sorry about the car, what a nuisance, I did the same thing with dp's sat nav a few months ago & they broke the window to get to it (it wasn't there, just the lead was). Glass all over the place & I was picking up ds from nursery so a hassle all round.
Anna, I made mistake of buying lots of 'vests' (sleeveless, no poppers) when ds1 born as I got so confused. Course bodysuits (& l/sleeved ones particularly useful in winter if you can find them) hold the nappy in & keep baby warm but neither mum nor I had twigged! My fave look on a baby is cute l/s bodysuit with little fleecy trousers, I got so sick of sleepsuits/allinones!

VanillaMilkshake · 03/11/2006 13:32

Hey All,

Here I am at work. So tired, eyelids drooping, but determined to make the most of the day which is boss free! It's my last Friday afternoon for over 6 months. Next week I am working 8-1, although I dont think I will actually manage much work. I am desperate for a McDonalds, but no one will go for me.

Has anyone got anything to make me laugh and wake me up??

castlesintheair · 03/11/2006 13:36

Lou, if you have an elective-section they do it about a week before your due date to avoid an emergency at term.

Eli, so sorry to hear about car. Hope you get it fixed. It happened to us where we used to live. Everytime we replaced the stereo (or back-piece) the b*ards would come and nick it again! Once, someone broke into a cr*y old car of mine and stole the parcel shelf. I didn't notice for ages. Apparently it is dodgy mechanics that do this looking for spare parts etc. Grrrrr!

Anna, re bodysuit/vests. I was scared getting vests over DS's head (was much "rougher" with no.2 ). In France they do vests which button up on side so you just lie it flat put baby on and do up. You can get them here everywhere now. Personally, I use sleepsuits (all-in-ones) with sleeves & feet & poppers up front AND vests with short sleeves and poppers between legs for as long as possible 'cos it keeps them snug and is so easy. It makes me a bit sad to see week old babies in jeans and little grown-up outfits, but that's my personal taste.

Talking of which, I have just finished washing the 10 million vests/sleepsuits/sleeping bags/hats etc that I have accumulated over the last 5 years. Now they are sitting in an ENORMOUS pile in LO's cot. WTF am I going to do with them all??!!

Feeling really sick today. Was at the school office filling in a form bending over the desk and I nearly heaved my guts! Thankfully, lovely school secretary filled it in for me. Roll on 6th December I say.

Loulou000 · 03/11/2006 13:57

Thanks Castles. I might have a baby in time for christmas then!

I don't have anything funny, but do have a nice online pumpkin carving thing. Hours of fun.

VM - This website should do it for you!

www.pointlesssites.com/completely-pointless.asp

weirdbird · 03/11/2006 14:02

Eli - So sorry to hear about your car how damn annoying for you, just what you dont want to deal with at the moment.

Hope you can get some help to clear it all and get it fixed quickly!

Elibean · 03/11/2006 14:04

Thanks all of you feel much better now. DH forgiven me for getting his sat nav nicked (yes it was, I'd left it in glove box ) and has kindly hoovered glass from in car. Still no window, but he let me use his car this morning - the man is definitely scoring points today!

Loulou, sorry re placenta...some places do planned sections at 38 weeks, some at 39, many somewhere in between. Mine is going to be 38 weeks as its my second child and they do'nt want to risk me going into labour with any dilatation beforehand...in case a cord or hand drops through the cervix (ouch).

dd spent first six months pretty much in sleepsuits or little soft pull-on trousers and bodies: she still prefers comfy easy clothes to this day, me too, neither of us are very outfitty!

VM, very exciting - losing plug and baby dropped? Ooooh, maybe I won't be next to go - have a feeling I won't be anyway (or is that denial?!). My friend's second baby engaged at about 35 weeks, she was very uncomfy from then on when walking - he was still in place at 38+2 when she had a section.

Castles, feeling sick when bending over....yes! Not surprising, when there's so little space, I suppose. I woke up with heartburn and a hard little head stuck under my ribs this morning - my tranny doing her occasional 'I'm going to be breech today Mummy' trick before turning neatly back to tranny. Think I prefer tranny: feet poking my inside bits I do NOT like!

Hope everyone is getting a bit of energy from the sunshine today - I love this kind of weather. Am going to take dd out for tea at friends', then we're going to attempt a firework display tonight....wonder if it'll scare dd or bump... Anyone else? Is there such a thing as a belly-muffler to dim the bangs?!

Elibean · 03/11/2006 14:07

Forgot to say, we (all three of us) sorted out the baby's room at last yesterday, spurred to action by section date: felt SO good! And really nice because dd joined in, bounced in the cot, brought a Piglet in from her room for her baby sister, and generally gave me the first inkling of what its going to be like having two kids. Can't think why I wanted to hang on to the spare room - this is MUCH nicer

castlesintheair · 03/11/2006 14:07

LouLou, I'm sure they'll do an elective well before Xmas for you, if that is your choice. My friend had her 2nd in the carpark of Kingston Hospital (it is famously hard to find a parking space) on Xmas Eve as they were short-staffed and told her not to come in when she went into labour. She actually delivered her DD herself on the back seat whilst her husband was looking for a m/w!!

castlesintheair · 03/11/2006 14:13

Yes Eli, we are going to fireworks tomorrow night. DS & DD LOVE them! I remember DS doing a massive leap inside me when I was about 7 months pg with him during the Primrose Hill fireworks. It was reassuring to know that he could hear!!

I really must get off this computer but I'm feeling so grumpy today and can't face entertaining the DCs. Since coming home from school they have changed their clothes THREE times and are now in their jimjams & dressing gowns. What is going on?!!!

VanillaMilkshake · 03/11/2006 14:15

Castles I want to give birth in car park!! Dont all shudder in horror, but dont want to go in to hospital and if it ends up that DH is not happy with a HB then I aim not to tell him I am in labour until the last moment.

Thanks for the funnies, the only one I could access due to the fire wall is the pumpkin, which the whole office is now playing with

castlesintheair · 03/11/2006 14:17

Awww, Eli, me too, had an inkling of what it will be like with THREE DCs this morning when DS & DD were cuddling me and bump on sofa. DS kept stroking bump & saying "Mummy, I love you and my baby bump so much". Right I'm off - how can I be a grumpy old bag with such lovely DCs?!

accessorizequeen · 03/11/2006 14:34

No funnies, VM, but have any of you with dc's looked at the www.poissonrouge.com site for kids? Twas mentioned somewhere else.
Have just ironed stack of sleepsuits & bodysuits, all coming back to me now. I think velour or fleece things also great for december babies as they are cosy, dry quickly & don't need ironing!! I have been so good only buying 2 things so far for bump until I'd unpacked, washed & ironed all of ds's clothes (as I'm having another boy at same time of year). I'm sure I can justify something that ds didn't have tho?? Mayhap lovely leaving hospital outfit as last time we had nothing small enough to fit ds that he hadn't thrown up on already. This was before I had learnt to put a muslin on everything, including both of my shoulders!!! Needless to say, I have about 30 muslins...

accessorizequeen · 03/11/2006 14:37

sorry, poissonrouge is interactive games site & has kept ds & I entertained for several hours in recent weeks. It's totally fab!

VanillaMilkshake · 03/11/2006 14:41

Ihave gon a bundle on - - - bundlers for my bump. DH's aunt bought a Gap set back from USA, sadly in a small size whic may only fit baby for about a week. But Pumpkin patcha dn Mothercare seem to do them, they are the sleepsuits that are more like a nightie, with elastic gathering round the bottom. Can't wait to see my bump in any of the clothes I've got ready for him/her

jabberwocky · 03/11/2006 15:58

VM, you're right, Gap does a newborn size that only goes up to about 7 pounds. I love their clothes, but can't understand why they make those so small!

Okay, as far as belly casts, mine is decorated with Mardis Gras beads and hangs in our bedroom. A friend painted hers gold and it's in their living room. They are really easy to do. I think you all should start a belly cast revolution in the UK

VanillaMilkshake · 03/11/2006 16:10

Jabber - you're so lucky with all the great stuff that goes on for mums and babies. Esp the clothes. DH Aunt bought me and SIL a sack full each back when she went on holiday. I have a goregous knitted brown romper from Baby Gap which she found for me. Can't wait to see it on bump, teamed with either baby pink or baby blue

As for bellycasts, I doubt many places over hear would even sell the plaster stuff (modrock - from my school days) to make them! We'd have to go beg the hospital - then again they mostly use fibreglass for casts now. I'm moving over to your way!

Loulou000 · 03/11/2006 16:50

Thanks all for info about sections.

Definitely going to fireworks! I love them and hope my LO will too. She's been to enough noisy gigs over the pregnancy and seemed to like them well enough.

Hi All,
I haven't been on for so long - had no internet for a week- and it's lovely reading how everyone is getting on. It is getting closer and closer now and all the fear about birth seems to be melting somehow as the general tiredness I am feeling. I have stopped work now and really have to force myself to have some kind of structure to my day and not just sit on the sofa watching TV. My little one seems to favor every position but the correct one - I am 34 weeks - PLEASE someone tell me there is still plenty of time for her to get her head down as all the girls at antenatal classes are looking at me in surprise when I say she is trans...?!!$*??!!
Also a really weird thing happened last night/this morn. I heard out rabbit thumping her feet in the garden from our Bedroom window and I bolted awake and ran outside (it was about 4am) and caught a fox sniffing around her cage, I stayed out there for 10 mins calming her down I just could not leave her, it was like some kind of mad instinct kicked in and for the rest of the night my hearing even whilst sleeping was really picking up on things...someone said to me once that nothing wakes you up quicker than your child crying or calling you, maybe that extends to Rabbits in Peril!
Sorry for the long post- so nice to be back on line

weirdbird · 03/11/2006 17:39

VM I am sure you can get the stuff to do Belly Casts in Mothercare, was looking at them with my mum and commenting over what would you do with it afterwards!

They do!

Calmriver · 03/11/2006 18:16

Hi All, been away for a few days in Kent. Not too much news to report on. Weirdbird-sorry wasn't around for your messages, but DH told me about them

Also, baby is bouncing around nicely on my cervix, and I too feel like it could be anytime before something shoots! I have lost more of my plug too!!! I never had this with DD1, but it's definately happening this time.

I am slao having my baby shower tomorrow! Getting very excited! Anyone have fun ideas for it???? My mom is going to try to dress me up apparantly,,,should be interesting!

I am also staring to think of my hospital bag! (I will if not earlier) be holding my baby in 4 weeks tonight!YAY! (huge smile emoticon)

Elibean · 03/11/2006 19:32

I can hear fireworks! But sadly, am sitting here in pjs, not at them. dd didn't nap, we were out all afternoon at friends after her morning at pre-school, and she is at meltdown point so....we'll see what we can see out of the window
And tbh, I would have needed a rest to make it too. Maybe tomorrow...I love love love the smell of gunpowder : anyone else?!

CR, wow - another one losing plug! OK, you and VM are going to have your babies before me, you hear?! Makes me far too nervous being next..

Elibean · 03/11/2006 19:34

Lubella, don't worry - dd turned head down at 35ish weeks and not a minute before. Its not too late yet! They don't expect my bump to turn because she's my second transverse baby and...dd1 turned back to transverse as soon as I started contracting (having disengaged due to excess fluid). They think my uterus is heartshaped, so thats that - quite unusual, so probably not the case for you.

Castles, your ds sounds adorable - yet again! They both do - but trust me, doesn't matter how lovely they are its still possible to be grumpy

Elibean · 03/11/2006 19:36

AQ - thanks for link! dd just getting interested in kiddy websites...although she has to sit on my or dh's knees and have us 'help' to use them. Am going to check it out.

Sorry about all the posts - have to confess only reason so many is that I can't remember all the things I want to respond to in one go
