The last one was getting too long again. There's just no stopping us!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Elibean · 18/11/2006 20:09

Loulou??

Jabber, make that 'probably' for me - am almost sure Bump is sideways again, and even if she isn't, bp and age and exhaustion from weeks of nightly itching are not great predictors for successful VBAC!

I am peeing every five seconds though, so who knows - maybe she has twisted her body round whilst keeping head stuck on top of bladder?!

satinshoes · 18/11/2006 20:25

loads of BHs here for me. About every 15 mins for 4 hours and then all stopped again

Olihan · 18/11/2006 20:32

All these BH, I've never had them, I'm sure I'd panic now if I did!! Having said that, I had a false labour with dd at 36 weeks - 8 hours of increasingly painful contractions for the whole night then just stopped. It was awful, especially as I didn't go into real labour until I was induced 6 weeks later! Gutting.

Satinshoes, what's your actual due date? I haven't found it in all the posts I missed and I need to add you to my master list for the next new thread.

spinasnowflake · 18/11/2006 20:50

OOOHHHH! it's getting exciting. I think things are beginning to move for us! (Everyone on the thread that is not DH and i)
Crampy pains etc!!!!

I think I've being having BH but not as they're supposed to be. More sharp pains in lower bump and a bit of crampy pain(but TMI the sort of pain I also get when I need a poo!)

spinasnowflake · 18/11/2006 21:00

Sorry that was TMI! But the best way to describe them.

Have just spent whole day shopping for Xmas pressies. I'm totally shattered and we still need to do some more. So much for my plans for a slick shopping experience. DH wasn't really in the mood and he kept getting distracted and spending more than we can afford.
I've also decided to miss my work do next week. It was going to be £75 before drinks, babysitters, taxis etc and I can think of loads of better things to spend that on. Also it's the last night out DH and I have(babysitter was prebooked anyway) for about 6 months(or maybe four!!) So we're going to go out somewhere nice(and cheap!!!) and I'm looking forward to that much more.

(as you can see I've one all xmassy namewise. Wishful thinking!)

spinasnowflake · 18/11/2006 21:03

gone all Xmassy .

babypowder · 18/11/2006 22:34

I'm having a section, too.

My LO is driving me daft at the moment. It feels like it's planted one foot in my cervix (sorry if TMI) and one against my right hip. Head is under left boob. And it JUMPS up and down all night. Didin't have this with DD - she was delightful to carry. I just wonder if this one is annoyed by all the antibodies I'm (or was) making

satinshoes · 18/11/2006 23:26

hi olihan. my due date is 13th december. i was 8 days early with dd so keeping in mind the same might happen (or is that wishful thinking??)

BHs for me are a sharp pain low down in my tummy, near the bikini line. The whole of my stomach goes rock hard and tightens up - DH can tell as he says it isnt squishy any more . They last for about 45 seconds at a time and then it disappears.

I remember when going into labour with DD complaining in an email to a mate how annoying these BHs had got....little did i know what was to come.!

Calmriver · 19/11/2006 08:24

Jabber, I am having a section too. Either this Friday coming or next Friday.x

Calmriver · 19/11/2006 08:26

I remember the BH I had with DD1. They were every 3 minutes and I decided to pack a lunch and walk myself to hospital.....came home 5 days later with DD!!!Lol

VanillaMilkshake · 19/11/2006 08:48

Morning All.

I would love an arrival on 13th DEC as that was my mum's b'day. But DH is convinced it will be early as opposed to late.

Last night I spent about an hour sat on the living room floor wrapping presents for SIL's two so the IL's can take them home today and I can reclaim some of my nursery. Going to do the same tonight with all other presents that I can then send off to various friends houses (as long as they dont start sending DD's back). Need to buy more wrapping though fo DD's present as DH chose her something in such a humungous box!!

VanillaMilkshake · 19/11/2006 08:58

Meant to ask is anyone else getting back spasms after they sit down. I get this pulsating feeling in my mid-upper back, feels like me whole spine is rippling?

satinshoes · 19/11/2006 10:19

DH is convinced i'm nesting properly . i've decluttered a years worth of crap off the dresser today and made him dejunk his bedside table!

jabberwocky · 19/11/2006 10:46

Okay, so now the section list is up to:

me
castles
elibean
magnolia
babypowder
calmriver

I wonder what the average is?

Had a horrible, horrible day at work yesterday. For some crazy reason they double booked me. I was an hour late leaving after seeing around 20 patients in 4 1/2 hours. Why would you do that to a woman who is 41 years old and 36 weeks pg? I just sat in my car and cried, I was so tired. I still feel very put=upon and bitchy about it today althought I have to admit the extra cash from my bonus will certainy come in handy. I just ordered over $100 worth of bfing/pump accessories. I'm determined to have everything on the market for sore nipples at hand this time around!

As far as BH, had a lot last night. I think all the overdoing it at work played a big part in that. Things seem to be calmer now, though.

Beaker123 · 19/11/2006 10:48

Morning everyone. I did give in and have one glass of wine last night and wish I hadn't. I haven't had a drink since, oh, last Christmas and it went straight to my head. I have a headache after one glass - what happened to my inner wino??

I've been getting BH for what seems like weeks already. It's amazing how tight my bump becomes when it's happening though. No other real twinges apart from the general creaking of moving my huge self around these days. I made the mistake of looking at my pre pregnancy jeans the other day. Not intentionally but I was putting away some summer clothes and there they were. How on earth am I ever gonna fit in them again??! I haven't even gained that much weight compared to some of my friends but in comparison to those friends I am HUGE - it doesn't make sense!

Anyone else only able to eat the smallest amounts of food now? DH made a lovely meal and we had friends over and I barely touched it. I love food too much to not be able to eat!

Beaker123 · 19/11/2006 10:49

x-post with Jabberwocky ... are you finishing working soon? I was glad to leave on Friday and know I don't have to go back in.

jabberwocky · 19/11/2006 10:58

I'm supposed to work two more weeks I did work this long with ds, but keep vacillating on asking the dr. to give me a work release. I have several half days coming up and the last week is just one full day and two 1/2 days so I really should be able to get through it.

Yesterday just threw me pretty badly. I mean, wtf were they thinking? And, actually, I guess it just hurts my feelings that nobody considered what a day like that would do to me.

Calmriver · 19/11/2006 10:59

Yes, I have spent the morning going through and tidying up...also feel like I could renovate this place in a day....although I am shattered now!

jabberwocky · 19/11/2006 11:05

Starting to nest here, too. I am so glad they got the carpet in a week early. I'm finally getting to start work on organizing the nursery.

Here's a bit of flub-up on our part. We had never moved the changing table out of ds's room. Just sort of started using it for storage, etc. Well, yesterday I started cleaning it out to move it to the nursery and ds got quite upset! I was really surprised, although I now wonder why I was. Anyway, we had luckily put back a little play tent he got for his birthday and we were able to use that as a bargaining tool!

spinasnowflake · 19/11/2006 11:45

Jabber, what a day you've had. Thursday was a bit like that for me. Didn't get any form of break from 8am(plus the 45 min commute before) til about 1:45pm. Luckily(and unusually) was feeling OK that particular day so could cope with it(just about) but a day earlier I was looking like total C*p and noone bothered to ask how I was, until the next day when everyone said"Oh Spina, you looked liked c*p yesterday!" Thanks guys!!!

BH were in full force on Thursday and Friday as a result!!!
Really felt like "SOMETHING" was happening over the last few days, but seem to have settled down again now(35weeks is a bit early ideally, but who cares about ideally if it means I get to meet him--Must stay in for two weeks more though.Need ceiling!)Actually ceiling being done when I'm 38 weeks! It's going to take five days not two as originally planned. Now beginning to be slightly concerned! Bean is bound to be late ,but even if only just late, when are we going to get all the stuff back in to room. And (sorry I'm going off on a ranty tangent now) DH is planning to lay a new floor in there too(which will be the following weekend realistically AND he's out on Friday night(no drinking -too close to EDD) and we're both out on Saturday night.

OMG what have we been thinking!don't think DH has realised fully the time scales we're working with!!He wanted us to sort out a new carpet(more people to wait around for to agree to dates!) while the room was empty for ceiling work(yep makes sense on one level!)I don't want a carpet in there(i'd love to just paint the floor boards so we're compromising on laminate flooring, but I'm going to be VERY fussy)

I really need to nest and am very very fidgety(sp?) at moment.

jabberwocky · 19/11/2006 11:48

spina, glad I'm not the only one at least. Misery does love company

Your dh sounds a lot like mine. It has taken forever to get to the point of actually getting into the nursery and we have only two weeks from tomorrow!

spinasnowflake · 19/11/2006 11:49

My three year old is currently making himself cheese on toast Obviously to watch in front of a DVD!!

I am supervising him as well as MNing!

Oh the shame!!!!

jabberwocky · 19/11/2006 11:52

Oh, I hadn't thought of teaching mine to do that yet! Although he can go to the fridge and get out a piece of cheese for himself. Hmmm, I think we may have a cooking lesson today.

spinasnowflake · 19/11/2006 11:56

Jabber, thanks I guess that puts it into proportion for me. I DO have two(prob 3,maybe four weeks til bean arrives) I think it's just the sudden(ie yesterday) idea DH has to lay new flooring when the type of flooring has been a bit of an issue for months now.But one of those issues where we hadn't actually had a chat about it. Both stated a preferance but refused to discuss it becauue we had plenty of time(This room was supposed to be done post building work!) I think he was trying to sneak his chioce past me!

We dn't even have a moment free to choose flloring let alone install it!!!

spinasnowflake · 19/11/2006 11:58

Not about the cheese,The proportion thing, the flooring BTW. crossed posts!!!
