The last one was getting too long again. There's just no stopping us!

Elibean · 13/11/2006 14:59

Ooh, judemum, will look at those too. Thanks.

castlesintheair · 13/11/2006 15:35

Cheers Judemum, will take a look at those as well. I'm not worried really, will just put new LO on their side again like I did with DD. DD used to flip onto her front at 4 weeks anyway in spite of the wedges to stop her doing it!!

Eli, I am sure it is due to length of baby - DS was 58cm at birth, he probably had a bit of a crick in his neck. He's so tall & gorgeous [self-congratulatory emoticon] now I don't think anyone notices. Plus thick dark hair helps .

VanillaMilkshake · 13/11/2006 15:47

Afternoon everyone. Are'nt DH's/DP's lovely. Mine has jsut got up from his sleep as he thought I might want a rest from DD as I have had her all day! But as I am just logged on I have told him to relax.

Spina, MIL was very pleased to be asked. Sometimes I wonder if she wants to be more involved but is put of by the fact DH and I never ask. Or if she assumes we cope and that BIL and SIL dont?? But whatever please keep fingers crossed bump arrives from 39 weeks onwards and not much later or she could be here for 3 weeks

judemum · 13/11/2006 15:48

But Castles- how do you get them to balance on their sides? Were you not paranoid about the baby flopping over onto stomach? Is their a knack?

castlesintheair · 13/11/2006 16:07

Jude, I just lay DD on her side with her bottom arm out at a right angle as a sort of prop, so both hands met together near her face. Does that make sense? I used to alternate each night. Also she was nicely jammed into a moses basket so little room to manoeuvre and the sleep positioners stopped her turning to begin with. She was so strong however she could roll from back to front and back again from 4 weeks. She used to turn her head to the side though when she was on her front. I did check her neurotically (as you do ) and she slept in our room and would flip her over but she'd always end up back on her tummy.

I am sure the uterus stretches with no.2 and consequent pgs as she didn't seem to have a crick in her neck at all despite being tranny/breech the whole pg.

jabberwocky · 13/11/2006 16:14

I got one of those sleep positioners, too, judemum. I guess i'm a bit paranoid after all we went through with ds.

Let's see, creative poses, this time around we didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Last time, though, a photographer friend took the photos and we did this really cool picture of me lying down in the fetal position with a sheer veil tucked all around me. It was very surreal, pregnant woman in the womb-like. I loved it. she tucked cushions under the drop cloth, which was black and the back cloth was also black so it all melded together visually around me.

Funny how conservative this area of the US is. Even the artists! When I told her that I wanted a shot post-baby that included my c-section scar she was obviously a bit shocked. Still, I do want to show the light and the dark side of motherhood, even if it is just going to stay in a private photo album.

VanillaMilkshake · 13/11/2006 19:38

All your prof photos sound great . DH has been pestering me to take pictures himself - clothes may I add.

But then when I proyudly showed him yesterday that I could still slip my wedding ring o and off with ease, an obvious sign I have not gained weight (very proud on myself emoticon). He said "Well you have a bit at the front" Thinkning he was being sarcastic I replied "well obviously!" and he said no under the bump!!. I have not actualy gained any weight, this is my wobbly belly displaced by the bump. But anyway am now seriously considering telling him exactly what he can do with his camera!

VanillaMilkshake · 13/11/2006 19:45

How could I forget - my news of the night, just had huge bit of my show appear when I went to the loo. Suffice to say DH has now more or less packed my hospital bag for me. Call me evil if you will but I get peverse kind of pleasure from watching him panic and rush around at every little niggle and tweak that happens. I just let him get on with it! Saves me the job

weirdbird · 13/11/2006 20:06

Hello all

Still here, still have bump

Ended up going to bed Friday night about 6.30 and sleeping to 7.30 the next morning, and felt a lot better for it, it would seem that I start getting twinges around my bump whenever I try and do anything... (Though as I am the size of someone at 41 weeks now, it is probably not suprising!)

Am beyond fed up it all now, am soo uncomfortable all the time, am too big to find any position that doesnt make something ache/cut of blood supply to something, am constantly tired and have no concentration.

Consequently I am just a tad irritable at the moment

lorie · 13/11/2006 20:29

How long have you got to go weirdbird?

I am also feeling big and uncomfortable, especially when I try to get comfy in bed!

Had terrible leg cramps last night too! Ah well must be positive, not too long to go!

weirdbird · 13/11/2006 21:15

Sadly if I go to term I still have 6 weeks to go, but I have too much Amniotic fluid so am far too big for my dates.

Calmriver · 14/11/2006 08:18

Hi All, I have been getting lots of period type cramp and still cervix bashing.

I am just waitingn my scan. I may be having baby next Friday depending on my scan...if not, itll be friday after.

Anyway, I am SO tired!

Sorry to hear about your story Magnolia, here's me having good thoughts for you too.
((()))

VanillaMilkshake · 14/11/2006 08:41

Tell me about tired!

Am so tired I dont think I would have lasted another day at work, just glad I bought my last day forwad. But I am now stating to itch....so much!legs, and fingers (just under the nail) are worst.

tinshoes · 14/11/2006 08:52

Morning all.

Sending hugs to Magnolia

Well, for the 1st time in ages DD didnt wake up in the night or at 6am so other than 2 wee stops I had a great night sleep. What a difference it can make!

I have 36wk midwife appt today. Hope something happens soon. I'm so ready to have this baby....

Have a good day all.

Indith · 14/11/2006 09:51

Morning all

Sending many good thoughts to Magnolia, and to all the rest of us non-sleeping aching ungainly heffalumps!

Had a visit from MIL yesterday and now have a crib and piles of baby clothes, actually starting to feel vaguely ready!

Now if I could just teach Bump that elbows are sharp and should be used with care......

VanillaMilkshake · 14/11/2006 10:07

My brand new baby chair from e-bay has just arrived - I am so pleased with it. Have shown DD what it's for and now her dolly is fast asleep in it! Hopefully by firmly saying let me show you with dolly - she will understand - yeah right!

Elibean · 14/11/2006 10:36

Morning fellow heffalumps

Four hours kip again, itching seemd to have faded but is back with a vengeance - sorry you have it too, VM, isn't it horrid?!

Magnolia, thinking of you too...and several of you sound ready to rock, in fact....a show, VM? Oooer...

Off to OB soon, bp is rising now, wonder if she'll let me wait till next Friday?? Bag finally almost packed - well, enough for dh to add bits to - and all ordered stuff pretty much arrived. I am ready, but is Bump...

weirdbird · 14/11/2006 11:11

Have come to the conclusion if I could just sleep, take baths, and have massages I could cope with another 6 weeks, as the present situation stands I might kill someone.

Had horrific nightmares all night of the baby being stolen, evil ambulance crews etc etc....

Woke up crying hysterically so feel even more tired this morning than I did last night

judemum · 14/11/2006 11:34

Wierd- sounds to me like you need to go and have a massage, or really pamper yourself in some way- reflexology? Those dreams sound awful....

judemum · 14/11/2006 11:38

I'm feeling ok if a bit tired. Getting some quite strong BH and staring to suffer from indigestion, which have never had before. The only thing worrying me at the moment is whether I am going to make it to the hospital on time. Which is stupid as I had such a long and drawn out labour with DS1, but the hospital is 40 mins away (minimum) and for some reason I just keep thinking I'm not going to make it! Bizarre. Shall just eat my tuna baguette and try and think of something else!

Carameli · 14/11/2006 11:44

Hi all, just surfacing briefly after moving just 2wks ago. The new house is still full of boxes that need to be unpacked. But all that is getting done at the moment is baby stuff. Move went fine and dd(3yrs) is settling in here quite well. She also started nursery last week for 2 mornings a week, 5 from January. Its been great for her. She loves it so much and is having a great time there. There are only 8 in her class so its lovely.

having lots of rib pain at the moment, cannot wait till this baby is out, fed up of heart burn and feel nauseous in the morning, very frustrating.

have to run and pick up dd in a bit so hope you are all keeping well. Still on horrid dial up, bt taking forever to get our broadband sorted out, already been through two of their hubs and still not been able to get connected. They are driving me mad....

VanillaMilkshake · 14/11/2006 11:53

itch....scratch , itch....scratch , itch....scratch , itch....scratch

Sorry but it's driving me nuts. How long have been suffering Eli? I know I am a relative newcomer compared with yourself. But I am just a short way from puttling my skin off

And to add to this after some show yesterday I feel like the dicharge tap has been left on too

Am taking DD to see father Christmas this afternoon if DH gets home soon. I know it's early but I am not going anywhere near our shopping centre until after Christmas after today!

Friend has just been round with a dairy cream apple turnover and an iced bun for DD so all is well apart from the itch....scratch

spinamum · 14/11/2006 12:19

Magnolia,Bigs Hugs! Can't imagine how you must be feeling.

VM, A show!!!!!!!how exciting. How many weeks are you now? I can't remember anyone's due date. Sorry to hear about the itching. You too,Eli.

Have had my last chiroprator appointment today(unless I feel I need another one.ie Beanie goes breech) Keep thinking I'm 36 weeks not 34. Hope it's an omen! My BH seem more obvious this time(Some RL 2nd timers said they noticed that too) but they're quite low down so I sometimes wonder whether it's actually my old IBS cramps
I've started on raspberry tea but am going to wait til next week to go full blast with it.(tea three times a day and the capsules!) the M/w at parentcraft said they can tell who's used it as their contractions are more effective IYKWIM!

Have a good day hefalumps!

VanillaMilkshake · 14/11/2006 12:22

Spina, am 36+ weeks. Am off to Holland and barret later for Raspberry leaf as well.

Anyone else noticed constipation no longer a problem? According to the bounty book this is another sign that things are about to start happening. So exciting

judemum · 14/11/2006 12:35

yes VM- completely agree- no more constipation. In fact, its great and quite enjoyable now .

you lot are making me feel like things could happen before they're supposed to- I too am 36 weeks on Thursday. Keep trying to tell myself I still have ages to go (potentially 6 weeks), but you're all getting me too excited!!!

Also agree BH are MUCH more obvious this pregnancy- they are really pretty brutal sometimes and wake me up at night.

Still have 2 weeks left at work after this one. . Would love to be at home sorting through all the baby gros and washing down the pram (which is covered in cat hair and mildew from the cellar- perfect for a newborn then!!
