If you're due in November 2015, well here's your ante natal club! Come and talk about vomit inducing man-scents, cheese roasties you simply cannot do without/or stand, the picked ice cream you must have right now, and the bubbling desire to tell the world but checking dates to restrain yourself!

nehagarg you were right! It's gone down overnight. I was so worried as it is far too early. But it must be pregnancy relates as my stomach has ever made that shape before - sticking out from the bottom.

Poppyninja · 10/04/2015 07:27

I have the most horrendous sore spots on my chin all of a sudden :( any tips for getting rid of these, they are actually painful! I usually have good skin :(

SnozzberryPie · 10/04/2015 08:47

Aargh I'm only 6 and a bit weeks but couldn't wear my skinny jeans today Sad

They are quite tight anyway to be fair but the tight waist made me feel nauseous.

Crumbelina · 10/04/2015 08:54

Good luck TakesTwo!

Snozz, my skinny jeans were too tight (due to bloating) from about 6-7 weeks too! Get thee some lovely comfy maternity jeans. I love my Topshop skinnies and H and M are supposed to be good.

BowiesJumper · 10/04/2015 09:20

Good luck TakesTwo!

Mamama I've just been using a bit of savlon on the occasional spot.

CuntCourtIsInSession · 10/04/2015 09:24

Good luck TakesTwo

I won't be buying anything for a long time: I can't even get up the nerve to buy new bras till after the 12 week scan, and heaven knows I need them!

I was wailing a bit to DP last night about getting fat; he reminded me very nicely that it is generally a side effect of pregnancy Grin but I guess I just expected I'd have a nice neat bump, and not this general flabbiness, bloating, and horrific wobbly gut. I've just not been well enough to face the gym. So I am in leggings and things, everything I normally wear is quite fitted so it's been...a bit of a challenge dressing. Thankfully I'm WFH mostly at the moment.

SnozzberryPie · 10/04/2015 09:43

Good luck takes two.

Glad its not just me getting podgy. I didn't actually put on much weight last time - one bonus of the awful heartburn I suffered later on.

Poppyninja · 10/04/2015 10:11

Top button def undone today!

Struggling to find stuff to wear for work as I usually wear fitted things, if I start wearing bigger floaty things will be rather obvious. Gah!

nehagarg · 10/04/2015 10:26

Good luck TakesTwoToTango … Let us know how it goes!

Yep newbian … happens to me all the time. I feel like a whale every evening only to have a super flat stomach first thing in the morning. (Obviously, then I begin wondering if the baby is still in there) … lol, its never ending!

Been feeling super flabby. Agree with you CuntCourt … I really expected to have a neat little bump not wobbly flab. Ended up buying cheapish jeans one size too big and wear those now instead of regular ones to stop myself obsessing over increasing size. :)

cryingbabymess · 10/04/2015 10:28

I'm exactly the same ladies! I just want to live in leggings just now! I've one of my tunic dresses on today and if got a bump!!! I didn't expect to have one already!! Hmm I know it's being bloated and can't be helped but I can't help feel horrible! Hmm

annatha · 10/04/2015 10:30

Annbag I've got a little voice in the back of my head saying twins (or even triplets after seeing the recent ITV show!) too, and did at this point in my last pregnancy. Like you we'd like 3 eventually and would find a way to make it work but 3 under 1 makes me break out in a cold sweat! It's a good idea to have a look at doubles now though, I'd love to avoid them but I'd rather make an informed decision now instead of a mad dash to get one while looking after a newborn.

Bowiesjumper as long as it's just natural henna and not something chemical based with "henna extract" you're fine. Lush do some really lovely red henna. It is a bit of a lucky dip with the shade it goes but I've always loved how glossy and healthy it looks. I used the maroon one but they do a full on red if that's more your thing. It's a bit of a pain to apply though so choose a sunny day where you can do it in the garden and enlist someone to help. To be honest I don't think there's any proof about hairdye being harmful. I'm sure when I looked last time there isn't research to say it does pass over to the baby but there isn't research to say it doesn't either, so I personally just don't take my chances. I can't stand the smell of it anyway!

TwoBeesInTheHive · 10/04/2015 10:37

I was fast asleep in bed by 10pm last night. but I wanted to go to bed alot earlier. exhaustion is definitely setting in!

flyingsprocket · 10/04/2015 10:38

Hoping to hear good news takestwo

Every evening I've got the top button of my jeans open, in the morning it's gone again. I'm not buying a thing until at least 24 weeks. I was with a friend the other day who is 25 weeks & she was showing me what she'd boight already & I didn't even want to look Blush She did mention, however, that some items need to be ordered & I shouldn't leave it too late. Experienced ladies- I'm guessing most large items eg buggies would only take a week or so?

TakesTwoToTango · 10/04/2015 10:43

Thanks all. Hardly slept a wink. Off to he hospital shortly.

Jucymyname · 10/04/2015 10:52

Good luck TakesTwo, let us know.

Im bloated too, but I just lost about 4-5 kilograms due to sinusitis and complete tiredness. Any tips on how to stay upright without feeling dizzy? And sick in the stomach? I have to go back to work on Monday! Afternoons and evenings are worst, I feel hungry but can't eat because I feel sick. I just eat rice cakes to get rid of hunger pains. Anybody else?

TwoBeesInTheHive · 10/04/2015 10:59

jucy keep sugary drinks with you at all times. especially when out and about. I have low blood pressure and pregnancy makes it dip even lower so I'm a fainting risk. something I found out the hard way when pregnant with my first (fainted and smacked my head on a brick wall!) since then I've always kept a lucozade or ribena carton in my bag for emergencies. it really helps even if you do feel sick to have something to sip to keep your blood sugars up and the dizziness at bay! Smile

BowiesJumper · 10/04/2015 11:13

annatha I used to henna it back in the 90's so I remember the mess well!

I'll take a look at the lush ones. I have more of a natural auburn at the moment, but I've been bright red before!

Jucymyname · 10/04/2015 11:29

Good idea TwoBees, thank you, I'll try it as I have a low blood pressure too.

annatha · 10/04/2015 11:47

Gaahh stupid phone deleted a long reply. Annbag I'm exactly the same, DH actually just came home one day with a pram. He saw it in Argos half price for £100. Its a basic black Graco one but its small, lightweight, has a decent basket and is 0-walking as its a travel system thingy where the car seat slots on top. A very no-nonsense pram but I would recommend to anyone. In hindsight I'm glad he got it because I was getting wrapped up in the pretty patterns available and not looking at practicality or long term use.

flyingsprocket imo 24 weeks gives you plenty of time to get everything you need. Obviously if you have your heart set on something specific you might need to order it but you could go to Argos, mothercare, babies r us, supermarkets etc and get everything in one trip. Its worth doing your research early so you know what you're looking for a little earlier though as I found baby shopping a bit overwhelming at first, so much is marketed as an essential that its hard to know where to draw the line.

On the subject of essentials though, whether you plan to bf or bottle feed I would thoroughly recommend a gliding nursing chair. I got mine off eBay and its brilliant. Easy to get into comfortable, supportive bf positions (if you are short the like me the gliding foot stool helps get your lap higher so you don't need 20 cushions), the gliding helped get my dd to sleep and all the fabric bits pop off so its easy to wash. Oh and there's deep pockets in the arms for snacks!

flyingsprocket · 10/04/2015 11:51

annatha thanks for the tips, I love the sound of a chair with room for snacks, I could use one of those now!!
