You'll need more nb size, but you can just fold a muslin into a pad and line the wrap in the early days. Only wash covers every 3 nappies or if they're soiled. What brand/type are they?

Treaclepie19 · 12/04/2015 16:01

That's what I had to do bonzo, put the seat in through the boot.
We're planning on starting looking next weekend.

themidnighthour that is fortunate. I agree that you need more size 1. I had about 20 size 1 and actually had more size 2 but that was mainly to ensure that I always had some for the childminder 3 days a week. I really liked Blueberry wraps because they are gusseted which i think gave a better fit and they are one size with poppers so they can fold down to the smallest size. I was given some motherease airflow wraps which I also found good. Here is a link www.thenappylady.co.uk/nappy-wraps/blueberry-coverall-wraps.html I thoroughly recommend the Nappy Lady!

bear in mind it's nearly Reusable Nappy Week so EVERYTHING will be on sale/special offer Grin

Thanks for the recommendation Jessica!

CommanderShepard · 12/04/2015 20:01

I have a Polo and can fit everything in...

Boodlymummy · 12/04/2015 20:18

The DIY maternity jeans are a success, sooo comfy! Bought a pair of jeans from charity shop for a fiver and adapted them. Here's the link I used if anyone else fancies trying. Going to do an old pair of black chinos next.

I have been wearing normal leggings but I have a freakily big and low bump for 17wks, and even with the waistband shunted down low they are digging in Shock.

Deladion thanks for the tip re Reusable Nappy Week, will keep an eye out.

Jessica32 · 12/04/2015 20:43

boodly I am very impressed with your handy work!

Jessica32 · 12/04/2015 20:47

Just definitely felt baby! Have wondered a couple of times in the last few weeks but this was the first time I've been 100% sure. So lovely. Want it to come back now, why are we never satisfied!

Boodlymummy · 12/04/2015 21:08

Yay how exciting! Jealous, had no sure ones yet.

Cornberry · 12/04/2015 21:31

Ooh I've just noticed a special offer on the bednest website that ends tonight - £79 rental for 7 months with free new mattress and sheets if you book before midnight tonight! Does anyone think this is a good idea? I'm considering it...

Jessica32 · 12/04/2015 21:34

boodly It seems to have changed quite suddenly though. Only yesterday I was thinking 'is it, or am I imagining thing's?' and then tonight, definitely. So it may take you by surprise too.

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 12/04/2015 22:40

Midnight you will need more wraps, but v lucky to be given them. I only use nappies with wraps at night, you might find you prefer pockets for in the day but it's great to have something to try out from the start. Grin

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 12/04/2015 22:41

V jealous of all those feeling movement, I'm 17+4 and nothing here despite being baby number 2. Thinking I might be in the anterior placenta club again Hmm

Boodlymummy · 12/04/2015 22:48

Cornberry my (very stylish and particular, does a lot of research into things) mate has hired a bednest and is loving it.

Treaclepie19 · 12/04/2015 22:51

lovely, I'm the same. I've felt a few things but not sure if it's just digestive.
17+1 today.

Maths88 · 13/04/2015 06:03

I've got anterior placenta so not holding out much hope of hearing baby for a while. I'm 18+2 today. Every now and then I think I feel something but tbh I think it's wind.

Back at work today - it was hard getting up this morning! Luckily it's an inset day so can ease myself back in gently!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 13/04/2015 07:01

Thanks maths and treacle

lovesmycake · 13/04/2015 08:16

Treaclepie19 · 13/04/2015 08:49

Can i ask a stupid question please?
Sun cream - is it safe?
There's no uk guidance I can find but a lot of the American ones say to avoid certain chemicals (which seem to be in all the creams ive looked at).

OP posts:
lastnightiwenttomanderley · 13/04/2015 09:41

Treacle The majority of advice I've seen highlights the need for Sun protection more than ever. On that basis, I'd say it's ok. The first step should of course be cover up but that applies to everyone.

Interestingly,I googled it and found an article from the Guardian which references it. It also quotes a list from the RCOG saying that we should minimise our use of shower gel, moisturiser and cosmetics.... I tend to only have more 'natural' stuff anyway (i love REN and Korres) but there is no.way I'm cutting down on moisturiser given how bad my eczema has become now I'm pregnant!

Treaclepie19 · 13/04/2015 09:42

Thank you :)
That's what I can't understand, it's so important but many American sites say to stay away from the chemicals.
