Thanks llama & shin Smile I'm also adopting a half front / half side position that's comfortable most of the time! Pleased to hear I don't have to be too strict on myself!

Gooo Woohoo for hols! Hubbo has just informed me he's taking me on holiday for my 30th on SUNDAY (!!) to ICELAND!!!! Its a geographer's wet dream - woohoo! Sooo excited!!!!! Hubbo even phoned midwife to check if I was allowed in the Blue Lagoon geothermal pool...but sadly she said no, booo! But glaciers and volcanoes and waterfalls, oh my! Grin xx

misssmilla1 · 03/04/2015 18:19

sauv it's amazing, went this time last year and it was one of the best trips I've taken!

Am 15 weeks today, can't quite believe it's been 10 or so weeks since I found out and started panicking about everything! My nausea keeps threatening to make a reappearance which will be a major pain in the arse if it does.

Meinthecorner · 03/04/2015 18:36

sauv I went to Iceland when I was 5 months pregnant and I did go to the Blue Lagoon. Pregnant Icelandic women don't stop going. There are cooler spots and I didn't spend too long sitting in at any one time. I actually got quite cold because there was a vicious wind with rain that felt like pins. They also do pregnancy massages! Obv decision is up to you.

Iceland is amazing one of my favourite holidays ever even if being preggo meant I couldn’t do any significant walking. Jokulsarlon is fab and you can sit on icebergs on the beach. Have a great time!

I am off to the Lake District on Sunday with our Gold DofE group. Embarrassingly, for a geographer, I have never been there!

shinjuku09 · 03/04/2015 18:37

How amazing Sauv!! Looks like an awesome place to visit especially if you're into stuff like that!

TheMidnightHour · 03/04/2015 18:42

sauv agree, Iceland = AMAZING. The hotpots are really quite hot there, unfortunately, at the blue lagoon and elsewhere - typically 38-42C, so would raise your core body temperature. Lots of other brilliant things to do, of course. We found that doing the Golden Circle by car was easier than a tour, they're all pretty close together.

I'm feeling tired & grouchy lately, and I have work to do over the bank holiday (boo! regret being a freelancer today).

to whoever asked about movement - I've been feeling flutters for a while (maybe since 16+3?) and DP reckoned he felt something a couple days ago (about 18+4). Having had a poke around, I think he probably did. Had to go low (just above pubic bone) and a bit firm (not too much pressure, obvs, but a bit more than the pictures in the movies suggest) to find it though.

GoooRooo · 03/04/2015 19:28

Wow - Iceland sounds amazing!

I'm going to Turkey. Not allowed to have a Turkish bath, which is one of my favourite things ever. I'll get over it though. Wink

ambientolf · 03/04/2015 19:42

All this talk of holidays is making me jealous! Me & DP are off to (hopefully) sunny Wales in a couple of weeks. A bit of relaxation before my 20 week scan Grin

monkeymoonpig · 03/04/2015 19:57

Lol We're off to Center Parcs - not as glamorous! But will be fab with DS having a great time, looking forward to it Grin

Hope you all have a fab time too!

DeladionInch · 03/04/2015 20:06

We're off to Devon for a night next week. My folks are treating us as my best mate is getting married! Might camp somewhere if I can talk dp into it we get a run of half decent weather

Maths88 · 03/04/2015 21:10

Our holiday this easter is four days back in England visiting our family! Lovely but not very relaxing. We are going to Cyprus in May for a few days which should be great.

Enjoy all your lovely trips!

mrsdos · 03/04/2015 21:40

Sounds like the thread will go a bit quiet if we are all off on our jollys!

I have to get through work tomorrow then Sad I have a week off too Grin . Mostly spent at home, but a couple of days in London next weekend, doesn't sound too exciting in comparison, but when you live in deep, dark rural Devon anywhere with free art/history/science exhibition (instead of just your neighbour/sibling/family members art work), places serving food ALL day and shops is the best thing ever Grin

Jessica32 · 03/04/2015 22:49

Sauv I'm so so jealous I'd love to go to Iceland! My DP has 3 grown up kids who have been fortunate enough to have gone to lots of places. He asked them once where they would pick if they could go back to anywhere and they said Iceland. Enjoy, what a great 30th birthday present!

TheMidnightHour · 04/04/2015 08:26

Gooo Ooh, I'm (hopefully) off to Turkey, too, for a wedding. Have to negotiate time off with work so I can see more than the wedding venue as it looks amazing!

Am also hoping to get a weekend or two away in the UK, too. So many pretty places in this country :) And a good chance to see people before we get restricted by naps & food issues - ones that aren't mine, anyway yawn

Jess Iceland's a good place for a weekend, surprisingly. Our flights with EasyJet were £25pp one way (Manchester, early May), and it's not too long a trip. It's expensive when you land though, as pretty much everything is imported. One museum was explaining they had no proof that Icelanders had eaten veg or grain for about 500 years -- apart from that they didn't all get scurvy!

sauvblanc21 · 04/04/2015 08:34

Woohoo! Lots of trips going on here - lovely jubbly Smile thanks for Iceland tips laydees Grin xx

Jessica32 · 04/04/2015 08:43

Midnight sounds really interesting on flights. Will have to have a look into it. I wonder how it is if you already have a baby, if I didn't get there before Sept.

Fluffin · 04/04/2015 14:07

Happy Easter preggy girls! Finally got my date for the anomaly scan, 11 May, so not too long to wait, and found some super cute maternity jeans, which even make my legs look skinny and aren't too long for a short arse like me, so a happy day all round!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Now off to buy a lindt bunny and eat its head.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 04/04/2015 16:40

So Chinese toddlers dont wear nappies....instead they wear special trousers, 'assless chaps' as DH has christened them. Lots of little bare bums all over the place! No evidence of accidents though... not sure how it all works! Very odd to see!

ovumahead · 04/04/2015 16:47

How weird! Maybe they just get held over a potty once in a while?probably potty trained much earlier. There is a hippy method of potty training advocated by some which is like this but can't remember what it's called. Interesting though!

sauvblanc21 · 04/04/2015 18:14

HAH fluffin your Lindt bunny thing made me chortle! I think I've already eaten about six easter eggs over past couple of weeks Blush Safe to say my appetite is back! X

Excitingtimesahead · 04/04/2015 19:12

Where do you get these magic jeans from Fluffin.

No Easter Eggs for me, since being pregnant I don't like chocolate, candy king/harbio or alcohol. The later is a good thing but the others is just cruel ConfusedSad

Meinthecorner · 04/04/2015 19:20

ovumahead the hippy method is called elimination control. I think you would need a lot of carpet cleaner! We are potty training our 28 month old at the moment and we have a beautiful blue tarpaulin covering our living room carpet.

Speaking of nappies is anyone planning on using cloth? We did from 10 weeks last time but I am planning on starting earlier this time.

Pigriver · 04/04/2015 19:45

I am planning on giving it a go me but probably not full time. I've bought some size 1 tots bots bamboozles from eBay (old style but unused) and a few wraps and am going to give them a go. DH has agreed in theory but is a bit apprehensive. I figure I will use in the house and disposables for trips out.

ovumahead · 04/04/2015 19:51

We used disposables with my son (now 7) so have all the old nappies from then... May as well use them! We got on with them fine, but too chunky for newborn, think we used them from about 10 or 12 weeks and never outside of the house. I think we also used disposables at night after a few leakages. They were fine to wash and dried really fast (we were living in a tiny flat with no tumble dryer at the time) I think they were easy and it was good not to be chucking loads of stuff away. Just have to remember to run the washing machine on a hot wash occasionally! Ugh.

Ahhhh 'elimination control'..... Why bother, really?!

ovumahead · 04/04/2015 19:52

By disposables, I meant cloth. obviously

ovumahead · 04/04/2015 19:53

Anyone else got a broken brain?!
