Not that I know of bowie. There's no NHS either so I have no idea where to start really!

mrsscarlettbutler · 23/03/2015 17:26

Hello everyone - congrats to all the new BFPs! Sorry to hear you are having a bad time TakesTwo is there an expat forum or community that you could ask about where you should go? I find that not knowing what's going on is so hard - your mind goes into overdrive. Hope you manage to see someone soon and put your mind at rest.

Nothing much to report from me - no more bleeding since last Wednesday but quite a lot of spotting which is freaking me out a lot. I'm trying to stay positive - we've had 2 scans (both after bleeding episodes) and both were absolutely fine, but I (stupidly) keep reading about people who had scans and then it went wrong. We are going to France on Easter Monday when I'll be almost 10 weeks and part of me really wants to pay for a scan before we go just to reassure me, but I know that's slightly mad. If it wasn't for the spotting I think i would relax a lot more!

I've also gone totally off meat - anyone else? I can just about manage it in minced form, so burgers seem to be ok but anything else and i literally have to force it down. I went to the supermarket yesterday and bought all the foods that I fancied, which isnt very many, and DH is now aghast that our house is full of food that the average 8 year old would love. Cheese strings, ice lollies, curly fries, white bread, cheddar. I am mainly living on cheese, marmite, bread and potatoes. and hot chocolate - can't remember the last time I had one, but it's the only hot drink I fancy. All about a million miles away from what I usually eat!

BowiesJumper · 23/03/2015 17:31

mrsscarlett I've been doing exactly the same. I'm still spotting and have been reading about times where it's gone wrong for people after a positive scan (we have a good one last week). I don't know why we do it to ourselves!!

I'm craving cheese (babybels etc!) actually. Might buy some and eat one on the way home! So much for being good this week. I'm vegetarian so was already off meat!

ashboo76 · 23/03/2015 18:06

Takes two the expat forum advice is good advice... Where are you? If you've moved for husbands work is there colleagues wives who can help etc. moving and two under 4's is stressful enough I feel for you xx

CoffeeTwo · 23/03/2015 18:26

Ladies with other children, how are you coping? 3yo DS is on the whole very good but I'm utterly exhausted after a day of running around and picking up after him. DH is home now and has taken over and I'm sat here with cramps that I'm certain are the result of my rather active day.

I know women have been looking after small children whilst pregnant since the dawn of time but I worry it's only going to get harder and I'm clearly a bit of a wuss!

CoffeeTwo · 23/03/2015 18:27

mrsscartlett and bowies I hope your spotting stops soon and you can feel more relaxed Flowers

tootsroots · 23/03/2015 18:42

Take two a what country you in? I know a few local expats with babies in Asia direction?

Miss carter - Omg I have just bought a pack of babybels ! And all I can consider is cheese rice wholemeal bread and butter - and - randomly- raisin splits ! Confused

Popped to my
Gp to make an appt and the next they have is 3rd april :( so I wailed at the pharmacy and she has given me some sea bands for morning sickness! Fx!

Only sick twice today and the rest of the day nausea so yay- going to attempt work/ tubes Tomrrow!

Liliana - pleased You got a good bridesmaid dress!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 23/03/2015 18:43

coffee - I'm finding it quite hard to be honest. We didn't have a great day today as I was very tired from the weekend to start with. DS is a normal lively 2 year old and 1 year old DD would like to touch all of his toys so I feel I'm doing constant crowd control. In between constantly reading books to them. I try to never say no so now that DD can drag books over too, I feel I could get a job on jackanory

I felt quite tearful when DH got in which is not like me. Because I'm so tired, I'm going to sleep at around 9 each night so feel I only get an hour of me time a day as I use nap times to tidy up and put away washing etc. Thank god we have a cleaner.

Sorry - this is a very moany me, me me post.

Hope everyone else is ok and that any bleeding etc settles down.

FlossyLil · 23/03/2015 18:43

Bowies Me too with the cheese! I've never liked it so much, I think it's partly the slight saltyness of it. I'm normally a dessert person, but with the MS it's turned me into a savoury person overnight!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 23/03/2015 18:46

continues moaning plus, I'm terribly worried about my terrible diet. I'm eating crap non-stop which is not good (two packets of frazzles in one go?) and drinking fruit juice like it is going out of fashion. DH is giving me dire warning about my teeth (thanks for that!) and prescribed me a special additional fluoride toothpaste. Also, I'm covered in spots and hardly ever get them. So basically I feel totally shit

here endeth the moan

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 23/03/2015 18:48

scarlet - I went totally off meat when pregnant with DS. I couldn't stomach it at all. We went to the Fat Duck and to the River Cafe in New York and I had to have the vegetarian menus. They were very nice but I could cry at the missed opportunities!

CoffeeTwo · 23/03/2015 18:49

Gobbolin we can wallow together.

I feel for those of you with sickness. It's too early for me, mine kicked in at about 6 weeks last time and I can feel it lurking. Occasionally a bit refluxy and some smells are off-putting. Right now I'm mostly starving. I can't stop eating but I'm making the most of it as I know it won't last!

ashboo76 · 23/03/2015 18:52

I put babybels on my shopping list today Grin no wonder they are doing so well ... Had chicken soup and ready salted crisps as a snack earlier surely way to early for cravings but reading all these posts seems not!

Gobbolinothewitchscat Oooh frazzles - I would happily eat two (four) bags in a row - might have to pop out to the shop to stock up! I'm a crisp fiend. Any flavour.

I've had a few spotty outbreaks - worse than usual - my skin looks awful - I am looking forward to when I am supposed to look 'glowing'

Went to a wedding on Saturday and had one of those eugh feelings when you just don't feel comfortable in what you're wearing. Did allow myself a few sips of champagne though!

Had to go and sit on the loo this afternoon for a while to hide my exhaustion from colleagues.

Crumbelina · 23/03/2015 19:07

Gobbolin I'm worried too. I'm eating absolute crap! I spoke to a friend the other day who is 7 months pregnant (she doesn't know I am) and she was telling me all about her fabulous diet, full of the right nutrition and all the exercise she's doing. Little did she know my last shop consisted of Monster Munch, Fruit Pastille ice lollies, cheese, cracker bread and a Lindt bunny (so a similar shop to yours MrsScarlett). That said, I do feel reassured that people have caught up with me on the crap food front. Grin. Obviously I'm not wishing nausea on anyone though!

Crumbelina · 23/03/2015 19:09

Heloharris I'm spotty too. And mostly grey in the face.

cryingbabymess · 23/03/2015 19:34

I have the worst diet!!! Crisps chocolate and digestives!!!

Mamama31 · 23/03/2015 19:54

Thatduck congrats! We have the same EDD! :) I'm still in the "can't quite believe it" phase! Just super super excited and grateful this has finally happened :)

Takestwo sorry to hear your having a tough time. Wish I hope you get some reassurance soon.

stickytoffeegirl · 23/03/2015 19:56

I'm trying to eat healthy but all I want is junk food and carbs. And chocolate. And cake.

I feel like I'm just gettin bigger all over, can't wait to be able to tell people I'm pregnant and have a bump so I have a reason for lookin like this!

PS - wish I'd known about the spinach thing before I threw a whole bag in my tea!

Mamama31 · 23/03/2015 19:59

Re eating, I am eating all the right things now before/just in case MS hits! As last time I was barely able to eat anything and what I could manage was not nutritious at all! So I'm overloading on nutritious food now, while I still can. Lots of fruit, veg, wholemeal bread/pasta/rice and some nice yoghurt. I'm finding the bloat a bit better since switching to all wholemeal as well. Long may this great diet last (until I'm puking everywhere!!!)

stace1986 · 23/03/2015 20:00

Total crap in my diet too. Pizza for tea! :) crap food seems to help with the nausea far more than anything else, my spotty face is definitely showing the strain though!

roughtyping · 23/03/2015 20:08

takestwo, hope you're ok.

So sorry to all of you with bad nausea. I nearly threw up while eating a boiled egg this morning. Really struggling with food - I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in a couple of weeks and really panicking - if I'm not eating then I feel sick!

Felt absolutely shattered after work today. Had been standing/walking for about 45 minutes and got really dizzy and ended up sitting on the floor with the kids (I'm a teacher), not very ladylike (or comfy!).

annatha · 23/03/2015 20:08

coffee, gobbolin, annbag I feel for you all, my DD is generally a wonderful baby but yesterday had a full on unexplained meltdown. I'm worried that when I start with ms and feeling more knackered than usual it'll be tough with her.

crumbelina fruit pastelle ice lollies were a staple in my last preggo diet! Along with lemon lollies, the strongest cheddar I could find, melon and mushrooms. Confused
