Sorry it's been a while (again!) I often read posts but don't have time to comment- especially back tondo visual people! Like now so I'll just do a generic reply to everyone!

Those still searching for prams- we got one really really early on off eBay for 50 quid! It's like new just a few years old- mamas and papas, my thoughts were it can always be a back up or left at g'parents house etc if it's no good and at that price I couldn't resist! My dad gave us a chunk of money lately to spend on the baby and now I'm tempted to get something else but I think I'm going to hold off for now, see how the one we have serves us when he's here and set the money to one side incase we do want a diff one!

Kicks much stronger here now too- can literally see my whole bump moving which I am finding really quite amusing! 14 weeks left as of today- can't believe it!!

Got my uni exam in 4 weeks so really knuckling down to revise now- or trying- often get side tracked by watching/ feeling bump move! That's why I never have much time to post at the min- can't wait for it to be over then I can enjoy my last 10 weeks and really relax/ focus on baby stuff!

Frolicacid · 07/05/2015 07:32

Good morning! Almost the weekend again. Phew!

It's nice to hear you all talking about strong kicks as well. It sometimes feels like he's dancing in there. They get a bit of a pattern at times and I wander if this is what hiccups feels like?

Good luck with revising for your exams lily.

I hope everyone has a good Thursday. We have mega crappy weather again this week. I keep telling myself is better than being hot and uncomfortable.

pinkie87 · 07/05/2015 08:10

Just want to say thanks to frolic for the heads up on M&S nursing bras on ebay! Mine arrived yesterday and I am comfortable for the first time in weeks (well, my boobs are!).

happygojo · 07/05/2015 09:05

I have bought some new maternity clothes and nursing clothes from the website verbaudet, they haven't arrived yet but my step-sister says their stuff is great and it is super cheap at the moment.

How is everyone? I am ok-ish. REALLY struggling with acid reflux, I got some omeprazole from the doctor but it still hasn't kicked in properly and all the reflux has given me a sore throat. I am also getting some under bump pain which is either constipation or stretching.

sianihedgehog · 07/05/2015 09:26

happy Omeprazole is my new god. I've been able to eat and sleep, it's WONDERFUL.

happygojo · 07/05/2015 09:58

Sian How long did it take to work fully? I just feel so miserable. Work is really getting on top of me today. Didn't sleep well at all. Took my second dose this morning but I don't know if it is getting better or not

sianihedgehog · 07/05/2015 11:07

I found it worked almost immediately - I took my first dose at 2pm and was able to eat my dinner and sleep lying down that night. What dosage are you on?

sianihedgehog · 07/05/2015 11:08

I'm also taking 2 sachets of Fybogel every day as the constipation seems make the reflux worse - might be worth trying that as well if you aren't already?

happygojo · 07/05/2015 12:07

I am on 20mg twice a day. First dose didn't do much, but I think I am starting to feel a little better now. For the constipation I am taking movicol a couple of days a week. It's a bit of a dodgy one as it is a stimulant laxative as well as a osmotic (?) but previously i was taking lactulose 4 times a day and it wasn't doing much apart from giving me wind! the movicol seems to get things moving and lasts for a few days once it kicks in. I was just a bit late/lazy with the latest dose.

I am just tired and grumpy today, a good sleep makes the difference between me loving pregnancy and hating every second.

Baby seems to be having fun today. I swear she is a ninja..... or practising to be a stunt double? feels like she is punching, kicking and doing commando rolls.... I don't think I will be getting a graceful princess ballerina lol!

sianihedgehog · 07/05/2015 12:54

Ooft, you're on more than me, I'm on 20 mg/ day. Hope it starts to work for you soon!

happygojo · 07/05/2015 15:52

I think it is starting to work now, I am just tired and grumpy today.... 'grumpy bumpy' as my OH refers to days like these.

Frolicacid · 07/05/2015 20:35

Yay for comfy boobs pinkie!

Sorry to all of you suffering heartburn. I've not had it really bad so far.

I love 'grumpy bumpy' happy! That's exactly how I feel.

dillydollydarling · 08/05/2015 09:36

Had a horrific day yesterday. Felt sick when I woke up and when that eventually passed I had the most awful stomach ache and rib pain ever, as well as my back hurting. On top of that I seem to have thrush and piles at the same time (tmi sorry!!). I then dropped a metal tray on my toe at work and I just wanted to sit in the corner and cry! And I still had to finish my full shift at work and didn't get out till 9pm Sad

Slightly less miserable today though Smile

Lilydreams · 08/05/2015 11:14

Thanks Frolic!

Sorry to hear your suffering happy hope the meds work soon!

Dilly- your yesterday sounds awful, I hope today is much better for you!

Anyone else had leg cramps?

Lilydreams · 08/05/2015 11:15

Oops posted too soon....

Had been looking forward to. Nice lie in this morning on my day off- was woke to excruciating cramp in my right calf at 0630- I was literally screaming! Then managed to drop back off and the other sodding leg did it about an hour later! When I finally got up both my calves are totally seized up- feels like I went for a 12 mile run yesterday- if only!!

Fanby · 08/05/2015 15:11

Sorry to hear of everyone's aches and pains, let's hope the rest of the ride gets a bit easier!!

I had my midwife appointment today, saw yet another lady, she was lovely (as have they all have been so far - not seen the same person twice). Bump is measuring 'perfectly' for 26 weeks and I got to hear her heartbeat again which was just amazing. Back in a couple of weeks for bloods. It feels a bit crazy because I only had my scan a month ago after what was the biiiigeeest gap and then seeing the midwife again so soon and then in two weeks, seems all the appointments have come at once!!

In other reeeaaallly boring news had BT Open Reach to move our phone line from the 'nursery' into the lounge - thought it'd be a bit unfair for the landline to be ringing in her bedroom plus all the modem cables etc :D

Oh and finally bump is the proud owner of three lovely pairs of socks with spots and cherries on :D Really need to start thinking about prams/cots/monitors etc etc rather than buying clothes :S!!! :D xxx

ChanceBeAFineThing · 08/05/2015 18:52

What a grumpy lot we are at the moment! Still this is the best place to whinge, I've been told I don't get any sympathy till I'm at least 35 weeks. So all my sympathies to everyone else suffering.

How's everyone's name choices coming along? Girls I have firsts name sorted, but not middle name and boys I have perfect middle name but no first name Smile

mzzzf · 08/05/2015 21:54

Awe ladies I'm on the grumpy train too! Or rather the 'I feel huge and unfit so I'm having a sulk' train. Honestly being pregnant has really hit me this week, my bump islets firm and forward all the time now. I'm like a turtle stuck on it's back when I'm trying to roll over in bed, hate it!!

I'll be 29 weeks this weekend, almost at the magical thirties! They better bloody well be magical Grin. I gave family descending tomorrow and I've been baking and cleaning my arse off today in preparation, there best be no complaints tomorrow!!

Grumpy or not - let's enjoy the weekend ladies! As it won't be long until we don't have 'boring' weekends anymore!!!

dillydollydarling · 08/05/2015 21:56

I don't think the majority of people understand how hard it is to carry another human being around all day!! And of course pregnancy is always portrayed as glamorous in films etc.

In reality it's far from glamorous!! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm still waiting for my 'glow' to appear Grin

As for names, I thought we'd chosen our girls first name and middle name but OH has now decided that he doesn't like it. As for boys names, OH doesn't seem to like any!! I'm hoping that a name will just come to is once baby is born!!

Lilydreams · 09/05/2015 08:31

Fanby- it's so reassuring to hear the MW say 'perfectly' when measuring isn't it- especially if like me people keep commenting how 'massive I am when I've still got 3 months left' yeh cheers guys!

Dilly- your not wrong about films portraying pregnancy and being a new mum for that matter to be glamorous! I had to do some research for my degree and based it around first time mums- one unanimous theme that came out was the unrealistic expectations that are set by films, books, media etc!

Names wise I THINK we're down to 4! I've a thread running under baby names to get opinions which I think has whittled it down- we're defo down to 5 but the other I still realllly like but might be a bit 'out there' so I may push for it as a middle name and let DH have final day of the other 4 as his first because I love all of them and can't see me being able to choose- although plenty time yet! Either way we are going to choose a first choice and have a back up incase LO doesn't suit it when he arrives! It's such a huge responsibility though it scares me sometimes!

rascalrae · 09/05/2015 08:31

Also a bit grumpy here. I've been suffering with colds for the past 2 weeks, was just getting over the first when I was hit with the second. Doesn't help that I'm starting to panic about the amount to do & the reducing number of free weekends. Need some energy! And yes Lily, starting to get nasty leg cramps. They really do ruin lie ins!

Dilly, sounds like a nasty day. Maybe you need to see GP? You might have a UTI if you're getting thrush & stomach pains. Hope you feel better.

Fanby interesting point about all the wires. I have the same issue. DH reckons it's easy but we may need to get BT round.

We looked at prams & car seats last weekend. Need to see a few more but I'm liking the UppaBaby Vista. Discovered that our car doesn't have isofix connections which is annoying. It's a Ford Focus. But should be able to buy a piece of kit. Worth checking if you haven't already. DH thought this meant we could buy a new car - no chance!

Frolicacid · 09/05/2015 09:21

Oh dilly! That sounds like a proper shit day. I hope things are better now. You have my total sympathy. I had horrible thrush a few weeks ago. And I've had piles for weeks.

Yes, yes yo leg cramps lily. I'd never had cramp before but now I regularly wake up with my calves on fire. Between that and all the weeing, a full nights sleep really is a thing of the past.

Yay for the perfect measurement fanby. I'm seeing the midwife on Tuesday and am intrigued to be measured as people are still telling me I'm huge. fuckers.
I'm like you in that we have millions of clothes and blankets, but hardly anything more practical yet. I really need to stop buying brightly coloured baby grows.

29 weeks mzzf! I'm so jealous!! I'm also starting to get the stranded turtle thing. I've also noticed that bending down is getting more and more difficult.

That's interesting about the isofix thing for a ford rascal. dh has one, so I'll look into the options.

We're struggling with names. We want a Welsh name that is easily pronounceable for our English relatives. A bit of a mission!!

Have a good Saturday everyone. I suggest plenty of cake, rest and relaxation to soothe our grumpy soles!

sianihedgehog · 09/05/2015 09:35

Chance we picked our whole name (first, two middle, and last) the night we got home from getting our Harmony test results! I genuinely expected it to be a lot harder, but we both seem to have REALLY similar tastes. I kept thinking we'd change our minds or think of something better, too, but it seems to have actually been that simple!

sianihedgehog · 09/05/2015 09:38

rascal I think our cars are too old to have isofix, too. I'm not bothered, tbh, we're just going to use the seat belt attachment. We live in the city and usually walk everywhere anyways, so there won't be much taking baby in and out of the car.

sianihedgehog · 09/05/2015 09:42

Frolic I wanted the same for names, but Scottish. Slightly complicated it by also wanting it not to be too common. I found some GREAT websites about names, once I started looking for just names rather than "baby names".
