I've not weighed myself since my 16 week midwife appointment. I'd lost at least 5kg with hg within the first few months and I'd only put back on 3 or so of those at that appointment. I'd like to know what I am now but the scales in my house are dodgy!

Lilydreams · 16/04/2015 20:43

OMC- glad that made sense an was a little reassuring! Mines had another quiet day today although I have been mega bloated and windy Blush so wondering if all the air has cushioned most of the kicks! Haha!

How lovely that we've all got such lovely DHs I think I defo will do something special for him- not sure when though or what but in going to have a good thing!

Oh no Frolic sorry you lost your dinner to the loo! I've been better today- I felt awfully sick again this morning but wasn't actually sick thankfully and again it passes by lunch. Hope you have had a better day too!

Oh no mzzzf sorry the pear didn't go down well- funnily enough my only major aversion so far is cheese!!! I'm very jealous of your sandwiches- I've progressed from not being able to look/ smell/ think about cheese to actually wanting a pizza now but knowing I won't go down well- I don't know how I know I just do! DH is struggling to get his was round that one!

Dilly- baby could be up in your ribs- when I had my 19 weeks scan sonographer had the probe right up next to my ribs at one point- I was amazed as also thought he wouldn't be up there yet but he was!!

Frolicacid · 16/04/2015 21:36

How are everyone's belly buttons doing? I'm PETRIFIED that mine is going to pop.
I've just had a look tonight and it's definitely looking different. What will I do if it goes? Just thinking about it makes me feel all week and weird.
I also found some strange black hairs in it. They didn't seem stuck, but now I'm worried that I'm sprouting them. Please tell me they were just dh's that got stuck there? None of my other hair is quite that dark or corse Hmm

Lilydreams · 17/04/2015 06:55

Frolic- I'm kinda scared about belly button popping too but at the minute it's actually nicer than usual! I usually have quite a deep (ugly) belly button but its gone quite shallow which seems nicer! Haha! Only thing with mine is I only ha it pierced about 2 years ago and it still wasn't quite fully healed- only took belly bar out after finally admitting defeat last week and now where the holes were is pink and stretched so looks a bit weird! Oopsy! Bonus is I think they will totally heal up so at least I won't have big stretched holes! But yeh the day I wake up and its sticking out I think ill cry!! Haha!

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway · 17/04/2015 08:06

Lily dreams I'm doing criminology & psychological studies, will be so glad when it's over, this last module has been the hardest to engage.

Dilly dolly - I've had that rib pain too I assumed baby was laying awkwardly just underneath as I don't recall it from previous pregnancies. I have a scan today so will be interesting to see if it is baby going that high .

Hope everyone is well & enjoying their pregnancy's .

dillydollydarling · 17/04/2015 08:11

My ribs seem fine this morning so maybe baby was just in a really awkward place!

Regarding belly buttons, mine is usually really deep (my bro and sis used to call it a crater) but now its almost completely flat. I'm terrified of it popping out! SadOH reassures me it will go back in after baby is born but still, the thought is horrible!!

pinkie87 · 17/04/2015 08:13

Anyone heard from fanby of late? Not seen her in a while.

red and dillydolly I'm due the 28th so we are roughly at the same stage!

frolic my belly button is definitely shallower. I actually said to DH last night that I'm started to get worried about it popping out. Silly as it sounds, I really hate that! But what will be, will be!

Let's not talk about weight gain!! I refuse to step on a scale. I reckon I've put on over a stone! Shock but I'm too scared to check!!

OMC1 · 17/04/2015 09:47

Sorry to hear about the rib pain some of you are suffering Sad Where are people feeling movements? I don't feel anything as high up as my ribs, all the movements I feel are almost under my bump, really quite low down...

Frolic I was wondering about my belly button the other day! I've always had quite a deep belly button and it does seem shallower - not sure I want a sticky outie one! As for extra hairs - I'm not going to go there, I swear I find a new patch of hair every day - and being naturally dark haired it feels really noticeable!

I am back at work today, and as predicted my colleagues are being weird around me and there is definitely an atmosphere - but keeping my chin up, as I've got my little wriggly monkey to think about, which is top priority!

sianihedgehog · 17/04/2015 10:23

dillydolly We've got the giggle 2 as well! I love it, I've been showing it off to all my friends.... And trying desperately to keep the cats from claiming it as their own. What colour did you go for?

whining alert
I'm 24 weeks today, and I'm the size of a house. Didn't gain much weight in the second trimester, so I'm still up just over a stone from my previous pregnancy weight, but my bump is ACTUALLY INSANE. i guess because I'm so short there's no where for it all to go but out. I'm hideously uncomfortable now - I've got round ligament pain that's utterly crippling if I cough (I have a chronic cough from reflux) and when I walk, there's no room for food inside me, and both my ribs and back are really painful from trying to make room for bump. :( feeling quite sorry for myself, and really not comfortable with how I look, either - I'm used to having an athletic, very boyish figure and I look like the fucking Venus of Hohle Fels. :/

Starting to panic horribly about where we will live and how we will cope, too. We made an offer on what was basically my dream house this week, but lost out to another buyer who not only beat our 5k over asking, but also did it in cash. :( buy to let investors will be first up against the wall when the revolution comes!!

Tell me it'll all work out??

sianihedgehog · 17/04/2015 10:37

lilydreams I've had mine pierced for a little over 20 years. Took it out last week because the skin just beside it was looking a bit torn, and now the piercing hole sticks out and looks like a prolapsed anus - it's HIDEOUS!! I think you got away lightly with your new one!

Frolicacid · 17/04/2015 10:45

lily, I've got an old belly piercing hole and it's looking a bit weird now.

pinkie, I think we should not talk about belly buttons or weight again! Thinking about bothmake me feel uncomfortable.

OMC, your colleagues sound like a bunch of wankers. I hope you can ignore them.

Happy Friday everyone!

LadesC · 17/04/2015 12:50

My belly button is freaking me out. Its definitely been past its best the last few years following a couple of laparoscopies. But now its gone from quite deep to flat and the middle bits starting to poke out a bit so i can feel it if i rub my hand over it. Bleugh!!!!

pinkie87 · 17/04/2015 13:26

I've bitten the bullet and bought a car seat! We've gone for the maxi cosi cabriofix. Pram will be next, eek!

I'm also going to have a look at Crowborough birthing centre tomorrow. Since starting yoga I've been looking into the possibility of giving birth at a birthing centre (a couple of people in my class have given birth there before) rather than in hospital, and it has really great reviews.

Siani sorry you're feeling anxious about your housing situation, I really hope you find somewhere soon.

OMC that's a good attitude to have, I'm trying to adopt the same one with my manager of late. Just don't let it get to you and focus on you and bubba!

dillydollydarling · 17/04/2015 13:53

OMC all the movements that I've felt have been fairly low too. Normally below or just above belly button.

Siani we went for the Oaker one. We don't know if we're having a girl or boy so opted for a neutral one. Annoyingly babies'r'us were doing a really good deal with the car seat free but by the time I saw the deal they had no car seats left in any stores and its being discontinued! What colour did you go for?

sianihedgehog · 17/04/2015 14:22

dillydolly We've gone for pixelate - we both like mad bright colours and it's good for boy or girl. We ended up buying from baby and play on eBay, £465 with the matching car seat. There were better deals a few months back, but I wanted to wait for the 20 week scan.

dillydollydarling · 17/04/2015 15:37

Siani I saw someone pushing one around in that colour today :D I'm slightly gutted that the shop we got ours from keep hold of it until closer to the due date and I just want to play with it now :(

I also really want to start washing and folding all of the baby clothes we've been given but OH keeps telling me to leave them in their packets for now :(

OMC1 · 17/04/2015 15:43

sianihedgehog I know its easier said than done but try not to worry too much about your weight, as long as you and baby are healthy that's the main focus and I am sure you can shift any remaining baby weight once the little one is here. I too have days where I feel enormously fat, and reckon I don't even look pregnant - just overweight. Don't forget all those pesky hormones are going to be making you feel even worse as well.

As for the house situation, that does sound really stressful - we are currently in the middle of a huge DIY/renovation project and I am living in a building site, and I am convinced it won't be done before my DD, but I am trying not to stress as it's not good for the baby. I do hope you get somewhere soon though, buying a house is the most stressful thing imaginable so I hope you manage to get one asap. It will all work out!

Frolic and Pinkie Thanks, I went out at lunch and had a coo at some baby clothes so feel a bit more calm this afternoon - forget my horrible co-workers, I have a lovely little baby coming my way very soon! Hehe!

dillydollydarling Mine too - that's a relief.

I wish I could have a little peek in there and see what baby is up to some days!!

Lilydreams · 17/04/2015 17:51

Iwishicouldfly- it's great to e nearing the end of studying isn't it! Wonder if we've done any modules the same- my last one is also very difficult to engage with (dd307 social psychology) but that may because I've had so much other baby related stuff in my mind too!

OMC- most of my kicks are low down too but I get the ocassional few near my lower ribs- I have a giant rib cage though- dunno if that makes a difference!

Siani- I'm short too and someone at work today actually said 'I reckon your going to have a massive bump' don't think she meant any harm but I couldn't bring myself to ask why as I'm sure he answer would have been 'because you look big already' so I just said yeh I'm short so there's no where else for it to go! Oh and Shock to prolapsed anus belly piercing!! From what you and Frolic have said I'm glad mine was so new and looks like its healing nicely!

Just eaten a whole sleeve of bourbons Ooooopsssyy!!

The in laws are back from their 2 week holiday on Sunday- I've had two weeks of peaceful bliss- is it bad to say I'm dreading them being back?! Blush

Redsparklyshoes · 17/04/2015 17:54

Ah hi dillydolly nice to hear others due same day! Smile
Lots of flutters today and OH felt baby for the first time so he's over the moon.
OH even sent me a big bouquet of flowers today with a note saying how well I'm dealing with baby. Love him!!
Have a great weekend all!
I love the weekend as I gain another week! 21 wks on Sunday Grin

Marian01 · 17/04/2015 18:58

Pinkie- I'm also planning to go to a birth centre. I went to have a look around at an open evening. It looks good with birthing pools in most rooms. Though the bedding was shiny satin and would look right in a seedy hotel!

Hello to all mummies to be. I'm new to the forum and am 21+2 and due 26th August Smile

OMC1 · 17/04/2015 19:44

Welcome to the thread, Marian! How have you been feeling? Smile

Lilydreams · 17/04/2015 19:46

Redsparkly- that's lovely of DH!! It's lovey when they feel baby for first time isn't it!

Marian and pinkie- I'm hoping to go to birthing centre as well- mine has pool in every room and even a fold down double bed for DH to sleep if needs be! That sold it for me after reading the hospital I was originally booked for makes everybody including partners leave during mealtimes and can't stay in the night etc- I'm v.v. Anxious around hospitals so that would be a no no for me!!

LadesC · 17/04/2015 20:27

Im gonna try the birthing centre in my local hospital hopefully. Do they only do gas and air does anyone know? I know obviously epidurals etc would mean a move to delivery suite but didnt know if there was any other pain relief the midwives could administer. Either way Im gonna try my damndest to have baby there as its only been open a coupla weeks and looks gorgeous. The midwives are all trained in aromatherapy and massage and you can take ur own fruit to use their fresh juicin machine in the communal lounge. Im sold!! Grin

Frolicacid · 17/04/2015 20:50

Your house situation sounds mega stressful siani. I hope you get something sorted soon.
I'm also short and it appears there is nowhere for bump to go but out. I may punch the next person to call me huge!

Oh no to in law's return lily! Good luck!

Welcome marian.

We have a local midwife led unit that they are quite pushy about. But, the hospital is an hour away if you need to transfer for intervention, so I think I'm going to give it a miss. They are opening a midwife led unit at the hospital, and I'll happily go there if it's ready in time.

Can I just have a quick whinge? I've been sick loads today. Feeling really sorry for myself as I've been doing so well the past few weeks. It seems to be ramping up again over the past few days and I just want to cry. We were supposed to be going four tonight for the first time in months. Now I'm in my pyjamas knowing the smell of the pub would be too much. I'm so bored of not being able to do anything other than vomit.

Joskar · 17/04/2015 20:52

I'm only 2lbs heavier than I was on bfp day but I've lost count of the number folk who've said to me how huge I am/is it twins/sure it's not triplets etc. bastards. There's a lassie at work who is having twins and only two weeks after me and I'm loads bigger than her. Depressing. Although as I put on over 4st last time I'm glad it's going on slower this time.reflux sounds horrible Sinai.
