Never thought of there Frolic, they don't have cream but they do have taupe which may work (if I can let go of my OCD)!

God, no waxing. I heard the same. Think of the pain!! But then again, the pain of the wax if probably nothing compared to what is to come....

dillydollydarling · 13/04/2015 19:45

I feel like I should try and be a bit more active on here! I always read what's going on but barely ever post!

In regards to prams, I think OH and I have decided on the cosatto giggle 2. I absolutely love it and after trying it out in the shop, OH loves it too. Its so easy to fold and swap from the car seat, carry cot and seat unit!

Does anyone else find it sometimes tickles when baby moves? The other day at work I started chuckling to myself cos baby was tickling me and everyone thought I was insane!

Is anyone else here team yellow too? We opted not to find out what we're having, although it was tempting! We've been referring to baby as a boy though so I'll feel bad if it turns out to be a girl!!

Equimum · 13/04/2015 20:14

Just a quick post to say Birchwood, it wasn't the maxi cosi pebble per se that I was worries about, but the fact it was second hand and didn't seem to fit our car very well. I actually loved the seat and will be considering buying a brand new one if it fits well in our new car. On that point, we found it really useful to go to a big car seat seller which was happy to try several models in our car. We went to Kiddicare last time and will probably do so again this time.

Dozygirl · 13/04/2015 20:31

Frolic I never even thought about the pain haha. Just wanted to get it sorted out if I struggle to shave it! I once tried to wax it myself, I don't know what I was thinking, it was a ridiculous idea. I couldn't bring myself to yank it off!

Not really any further into deciding which car seat now I've been to mothercare except that I know which bases go with which car seats. The guy did say to wait a couple of months though and maxi cosi are likely to change the bases so more of their car seats are compatible with the new I size base. Basically I want a rear facing car seat for safety in the next stage up but they are all way more expensive at the moment. and I'm wondering whether I even really need a base for the first size car seat because I could just use the seat belt, it's not that difficult to get in out without the base. Then just get a rear facing one when the time comes. This is not an easy decision to make!

Anyone else gonna be keeping their child rear facing as long as possible? I know the law isn't in place yet but looking into the safety etc I think I'd rather keep them rear facing as long as I can. Just hope in don't get a child that hates being that way! Will defo get a mirror though so u can see them amd they can see u

Thanks Equi that makes sense. We need to go to a big store and try them out too. Haven't decided whether to go iSize or not yet, I'm going to leave it a couple of months before I obsess over it though!

mzzzf · 13/04/2015 21:16

Oooooh I like the idea of leaving it a few months to decide on car seats! Grin But we'll deffo be getting rear facing and for as long as possible too.
I think though because of our car the best match for us is the BeSafe range, however, I've now made the executive decision to leave it until mid-June!

As for waxing - noooooooo! I shall be attempting my own bush topiary or I'll be slathering on the immac cream and hoping for the best. As long as I don't look like the 6th member of the Jackson 5, I'll be happy!

Re: baby moving I think I can now differentiate between hiccups and kicks/punches. All surreal still. Can't believe I have only 15 weeks to go - fuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkkkkk! Shock

Frolicacid · 13/04/2015 21:40

I must admit never to having had a wax. I'm not that hairy, and I'm a chicken. (Or at least I wasn't hairy pre-pregnancy Hmm) I do dh's back occasionally and I don't know how he can stand it.

I think I know what you mean about tickling dilly. I just had a bit of a weird one where I had a horrible painful shooting pain across my bump and then baby did a massive kick straight after. Both sensations were really strong. Not had anything since, so assuming he pressed on a nerve or something.

We will definitely be going for extended rear facing as well dozy. But have decided to leave the choice until much later.

15 weeks sounds so little mzzf!! I was counting today and that's how long I have left at work. 19 till baby. Time seems to be going a lot quicker now my hg is better and I'm able to do more to fill my time.

Do we have any sling experts here? My lovely step-mil has told me she's got me a Kari-me. She's so kind. Someone told her they are great for dog walking with a new born so she thought I'd like it.
Does anyone know if they're any good? I think it's the stretchy type.

dillydollydarling · 13/04/2015 23:57

The other day I think baby spent most of the day turned the other way and was kicking into me rather than out. Was so uncomfortable all day! Had a massive kick earlier that OH saw! I love feeling the wriggles and kicks Grin

No help about slings I'm afraid but I'd love to know what people's recommendations are.

Frolicacid · 14/04/2015 07:13

Oh god! I just woke up from a really vivid sex dream about mick jagger. Blush I'm really disturbed! Had to tell someone and I thought you lot might understand!

Anyone else having crazy dreams? Mine have been really vivid the whole pregnancy.

happygojo · 14/04/2015 07:54

Haha I had a REALLY vivid dream about the guy who plays Poldark a few weeks ago.... Probably less disturbing than Mick Jagger though.... Each to their own Wink

Ok it appears my boobs have started to leak. Anyone else? It's feels too early! Going to have to go and buy some pads today

Dani240 · 14/04/2015 10:49

I cry at having my eyebrows waxed so there's no way that I could let someone loose down there! I don't have any issues 'reaching' yet, but I have wondered what will happen when I can't see anymore! I'm not sure if my nerves could take DH doing it, I might have to go full-on gorilla!

I'm still not feeling much movement, but on Easter Sunday (after a huge amount of chocolate) there was one massive kick that even DH could feel. I think the sugar made them move more! Not much since - one of them has an anterior placenta, and I guess that there's not much room with two of them in there, so I'm blaming that!

OMC1 · 14/04/2015 11:46

I was out of the office sick yesterday with absolutely vile heartburn, which was making me really ill and I'm back in today but I still feel awful - almost passed out at the photocopier - I went really hot and woozy, got spots in front of my eyes and double vision - eek! Probably should go home, but have rather unsympathetic colleagues (none of the girls in my team have ever been pregnant (mixed ages) and I am sure they think I am putting it on). In a bit of a dilemma! Sad Has anyone else had to have much time off work? So far, including yesterday, I've had three days off since falling pregnant - but I'm normally a non sick-day sort of girl so I feel really bad!

Ooh, loads to catch up on!

The waxing/shaving issue - eek! I've tentatively mentioned to DH I might need his help shaving in a few weeks, as getting to my legs and other parts is getting me a bit breathless - he is a trooper and said he will! Will be an interesting bonding experience... haha!

dillydollydarling -waves- I'm a team yellow! I so want to know, but am pleased I've managed to avoid the temptation! Do you have any feelings as to what baby might be?

Frolicacid My dreams are bonkers at the moment, and far too many of them are super horny dreams - my most recent involved Simon Rimmer from Sunday Brunch - argh!!!

happygojo I woke up the other morning with a suspicious patch on my PJ top, so I think mine have started - it does seem early doesn't it!? I hope it doesn't become too much of a problem though!

mzzzf · 14/04/2015 12:34

Simon Rimmer and Mick Jagger!?! WHat the hell is going on with you two?! Grin Poldark isn't too harsh on the eyes though!!

My latest weird dream was me working as a doctor at a sexual health clinic and having to check men's willies for genital warts - worst part was though they were all men I know in real life!!! Ewwwww!!! Confused

OMC1 · 14/04/2015 12:41

I know, mzzzf, what I wouldn't give for a dream about someone half decent!!!!

Aargh, yours sounds horrendous - were you watching Embarrassing Bodies before bed?! Haha!

rascalrae · 14/04/2015 12:58

You're all making me paranoid about my lady garden now! Hadn't given it much thought but your story equimum has definitely made me think (and laugh, sorry).

Thanks for the reassurance on the low weight gain. I do worry as I have M.E. and want to make sure baby is getting the right nutrients as my body doesn't function very well. Trying to eat a bit more & will no doubt find the weight comes all at once.

Picked up a summery maxi dress from George last night. I know the summer heat might be difficult for us but I am glad I'll get to wear summery maternity clothes - flip flops, loose skirts. Definitely beats having to squeeze into tights in the winter. I'm already struggling to bend over. And it's cheaper too :) Plus someone said to me that the night feeds won't seem so bad in the summer as the nights are shorter. Hope that's true!

ruby242 · 14/04/2015 13:45

dillydolly I haven't felt any tickling when the baby moves but that sounds quite sweet! I notice mine always moves a lot after I've eaten something sugary too-then makes me feel bad that the baby is on a sugar high and I really should cut back haha!

I think I'm just going to go unshaven at the end of pregnancy-figure I'll lose most of my dignity in childbirth anyway haha I guess the midwives have seen it all!!

As for slings I am totally lost as I was going to go for the Ergo, then tried one on in John Lewis and the woman suggested the babybjorn miracle was better for your back so tried that on and it did feel more comfortable! But then I read that is not great for your back or for the babys hips. ahhh too confusing! So think I've decided to just go for a moby wrap for the newborn and can always get another more structured one later

Haha at some of your dreams!! I seem to remember my dreams more but no weird ones yet...maybe a good thing!

Hope you feel better OMC-I had a lot of time off in the first trimester with morning sickness, luckily I had understanding bosses but did feel bad but figured you have to look after yourself :)

Rascal I'm so glad to have the baby in summer for the bright mornings and night feeds-when we were trying to get pregnant this is what I was hoping for!

Hope some of you are enjoying the sunshine today, I'm wishing I wasn't at work and was able to enjoy it more!

birchwoods · 14/04/2015 15:29

dilly I'm team yellow too! I'm dying to know but also happy to wait, it just seems normal/right for me not to know, if you see what I mean? It's fun guessing anyway (I think it's a boy at the moment, especially as our fourth niece (no nephews) was born just over two weeks ago!).

All the lady garden chat is hilarious! I told DH about it last night and he has agreed to assist when needed. As he puts it "it's the closest I'm going to get to it in a while so I may as well"...!!! I think I might be brave though and book a wax for a few days before my due date. I haven't had one in years but I seem to remember it being over in seconds.

Frolic Mick Jagger??!! Lord!!! That just made me lol!!! Happy I wouldn't have minded your dream though, maybe if I watch some Poldark before bed he will creep in to my dreams and seduce me, he is so hot!

I'm still having pretty vivid dreams, some of them sexy but I think most have actually involved DH, which is unusual..!!!!!! I'm definitely remembering my dreams when I wake up more, some of them have been really scary!

Rascal I'm so glad we will be pregnant/have teeny babies in the summer too, I can't imagine anything worse than being the size of the moon and trying to wrap myself up in jumpers/coats/scarves. We can be like floaty earth mothers, wafting around in our long, loose dresses and bare feet! (More like sprawled half on/half off the sofa, feet dabbling in a bowl of cold water and wondering if I could possible swell up any more!)

I'm feeling lots of lovely movements now, really regularly, and they are getting stronger. I had a little nap at the weekend and just as I was dozing off my whole stomach moved, twice, and woke me up!

Soooo wish I didn't have to work in this weather. I work in a little office in the countryside and all I can see outside my office window is green fields and blue sky...will have to go for a walk after work to make the most of it.

I hope you're all having a good day!

OMC1 · 14/04/2015 17:16

Thanks ruby I went home at lunch and have had a bit more sleep, feeling a little better now!

Birchwoods & Rascal Maxi dresses all the way come the summer, I'm already finding the warmer weather a challenge though so I expect I'll be grumpy and swollen in summer - at least I won't be alone, though!

PenguinTuxedo · 14/04/2015 19:07

OMC I'm glad you're feeling better. I have been signed off since 16 weeks. Not ideal, but I'm just too poorly so have had to listen to my midwife and take her advice. If you do feel unwell again, just go home. You can't be disciplined for pregnancy related illness.

Lilydreams · 14/04/2015 19:20

LAM1- try ebay for curtains- I had a quick look a few months back because when we sell our house we have to leave curtains in each room and I won't be leaving my beautiful expensive ones but getting them off there had some on selling for 99p!

Dilly- YES about kicks tickling!! I've giggled at home a few times but same here had to bite my lip the other day to stop myself bursting out laughing one day last week at work it was so tickly!! Sat and watched my belly before and could actually see it moving when he kicked! So cute! He also kicked the other night when one of my dogs had his head on me half asleep and when he felt it he proper jumped and then sniffed me like crazy! Too cute!!

I'd love to know about wraps/ slugs too I have 2 dogs and will defo not be considering manoeuvring a pram with them both!!

mzzzf · 14/04/2015 19:34

Waaaaaaah!!! I bought a baby carrier Grin

The assistant in Mothercare was lovely. I got to try lots of different ones on, fabric wraps, slings, structured carriers etc and I've come away with the 3-way Mothercare carrier. I have pretty large boobs at the best of times and even at 6months pregnant is was very comfortable. Great lumbar support and shoulder padding, plus baby is nice and secure without their hips being totally abducted. Plus it's black, can be put on in 5 seconds and DH will be grand with it too.

I didn't like the fabric wraps/slings at all. I felt it was a faff to get on/off and I didn't feel like baby would be properly supported as she gets older. That is just my opinion though, and I'm sure fabric ones are another person's ideal of perfection.

Oooooh I really hope that's right about summer nights and night feeds!

ChanceBeAFineThing · 14/04/2015 19:58

Slings - I had a baby bjorn which I hated and really hurt my back/shoulders. Then used a moby sling wrap which I love love love. Yes slightly faffy to put on at first, but suited me much better. Though I have no dogs or do epic walking so not sure how it would suit for that, it's more of a tuck the baby out the way from pokey older siblings round the house/quick trips to shops/keeping them asleep during church. Though I do have heavy babies (last one was nearly 10lb Confused) and stop wearing them after about 9 months.

Sorry to hear some of you are suffering healthwise still. I've had a couple of good weeks, but starting to feel a lot more out of breath walking now. Downhill from here on in and still 15 weeks to go, arrgh.

happygojo · 14/04/2015 20:01

I was thinking about slings/carriers. I definitely want one but I agree that the fabric ones might be a bit faffy for me personally and I would be so paranoid about the baby falling out! Which is probably ridiculous (hopefully). I saw one in boots today that you could use all sorts of ways that I think I might go for but I didn't look at the price... Doh!

As for my lady garden, I have had some disasters when it comes to hair removal so I am mostly natural apart from a hasty trim before swimming. I will probably have a trim before my due date though.... If I can reach and can be bothered!

PerpetualSummer · 14/04/2015 20:54

OMC - take care of yourself, especially if feeling faint. I thought I was going to faint when I was out shopping the other day. I was in Anthropologie and sat in one of their chairs and the lovely sales person brought me some water and biscuits.

Dilly, birchwoods, OMC - I'm team yellow too! Though I can see myself buying lots of white and grey to start.

So far I've bought two identical toy comforters and a little vest from jcrew for baby aged 6-12 months. I think I need to focus on buying stuff that's actually needed straight after baby is born.

Dozygirl · 14/04/2015 21:09

I think fainting is one of the joys of pregnancy. I've had it a couple of times when I'm at workainly when the room has gotten hot. Once it was when I was already sat down on a stool and everything went black so I had to sit on the floor like an idiot. Wasn't worried about it though because i felt absolutely fine afterwards once I'd had some cold water.
