boo lol!!! Thongs!

firaffe could the mw enlighten you about the blood flow thing?

Oh so sore! Poor dad is so bored... Shed be happier at nursery today I think. OK this am cos we dropped daddy off then had breakfast out then went to the library. Now she's been in front of TV a while. Going to mother's day stay and play for 1.5 hrs at half 2 but that feels like hard work! Then to a friends. Then home for tea bath and bed. One half hr at a time...

Its like he's had pressure in one place at the top of my bump so long that its painful. And I could really fall asleep... Right here on my ball...

I complain more when I'm less unwell I think!!! Wink

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/03/2015 14:09

boo I don't deal with waiting well, I'd be equally frantic waiting for labour to start at some indeterminate time. Though now I'm panicked that I want my ceasarian date!

I panicked this morning because my fiance's gone to work with my maternity notes still in the car (at least, they'd better be still there coz they aren't here!) and "what if I have to be rushed in?" (yeah, they'd cope, it's me who isn't!)

anxiety disorder can do one, I'm fed up of it!

I'm doing the bags tonight when he's home, it's the only way!
though if he wants to put frillies or thongs in, he'd have to go and buy them! I converted to granny knickers after having eldest and they were so comfy I got rid of the rest.

Suppposed to be assembling the cot tonight if I have time and energy after packing bags and making eldest's "spring hat" (easter bonnet) and doing the millions of other things. I'm feeling woefully under-prepared!

daholster · 16/03/2015 14:09

Wish my phone would learn not to correct dd to dad!!! Angry

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/03/2015 14:19

things like that are why I don't use the usual abbreviations for family members, daholster

I find it easier not to.

Lauren82000 · 16/03/2015 14:33

Ebwy I'm waiting for the letter from Nursery asking me to do an Easter bonnet. Think I'm buying a hat and making some bunny ears to stick on the side. Might even get the pipe cleaners out and make some flowers to stick in it. Minimal effort all round and plenty of sellotape! Even better if I get DD to do the flowers.

FiRaffe · 16/03/2015 14:41

Nope daholster.....she started off saying they didn't measure it, until I pointed it out on the sheet!!! She then said that it was within the normal lines and if the consultant was worried they'd be doing something.......... i'm intelligent enough to assume that!!

Ebwy - as you say, they would cope! Just have to make yourself as comfortable with what is happening as you can.

Last wall of the nursery is currently being papered then we can move the furniture back in - yay!

Nunkie · 16/03/2015 14:41

Boo ... are you sure it was face fuzz...? Hmm
Cos i once had a housemate who ... errr... um.. never mind... Suffice to say my ominous feeling when i looked in the bath was justified.. Grin

PS: Not to be picky, but not 100% on the 'scummy' raspberry muffin recipe! ;0D

DaHolster I think you're entitled to vent all you like!!

Lauren i know what you mean - though i did wonder, because forums can be more anonymous in a way than talking to a real person, if it might suit him more.
Though as someone already pointed out, the man thing is that he is confiding in you.

(In other news, i really should be getting on with some bloody work!)

smogsville · 16/03/2015 15:02

Ebwy you need that date don't leave without it. Stage a sit in if you have to.

FiRaffe I'm allegedly 2 wks behind (measuring 32 at 34 wks). Mw wasn't at all concerned. Just had croque monsieur and chips for lunch to help even it out Wink

TheBooMonster · 16/03/2015 15:31

it was almost defiantly face fuzz nunkie he keeps that lot far more under control on the off chance that he gets some! Shock

oh no, that's not what I meant! I really need to find out how I turn the autocorrect off on this thing, my general crappy spelling would beat all the awkward autocorrects!! Yummy! We'll go with Yummy muffins! Though DD hated them and I made a double recipe so given that they were almost a week old the last two which were a bit soggy went out for the birds today Sad

daholster DD is having a TV day, though we went out and terrorised the chickens for a bit whilst I assessed the damage they've done to the garden, but other than that we've been perusing cbeebies, cartoon network and boomerang!

DH and I had a sit down about visitors last night, he's going to be gate keeper, no one will be allowed in if they show up unannounced, we will only have 1 set of visitors a day and he will give them a time that they can come, bump will not be a zoo exhibit like poor DD was, so I can spend lots of time trying to get breast-feeding working, it's a huge relief that he's on the same page as me and that he can be the bad guy for once he's also seemingly accepted that he will be on bum change duty with fairly good grace Grin

ewby is the cot not something OH can do? DH put up the crib with 'help' from DD... though I guess cribs are a fair bit smaller than cots... Defiantly stamp your feet about getting a date for your section if they don't do it within 24 hours!

Oh I'm not leaving without a date!
it's dangerous for me, so I won't be risking it.

Yeah, he can probably put the cot up alone - he did the boys' bunk beds with minimum help (just one "can you hold this bit still a second?" for me and whatever he could find that was safe for a 4 year old to help with!) but I actually enjoy putting flat-packs together so want to do it.

Lauren last year I was expecting the nursery to request easter bonnets too and they never did! So he and I made a hat ourselves (fun foam and staples! it was easy) and had fun that way instead.

This year they sold us hats for £1.50 for school funds (could have got the same thing in poundland) and we just have to decorate it. Trouble is, he's a perfectionist and thinks I can make anything he thinks of! currently it's to look like a hill with sheep on and flowers all over, and bees and butterflies flying over it. By the time he takes it in to school next week it'll probably be dinosaurs again with pterosaurs flying around... so the sooner we get it done the sooner he'll stop making impossible suggestions for me to try to fulfill! Assuming I'm not in hospital there's a parade at their easter fair after school or something next week. And they are asking us to take easter eggs in too for prizes for the fair... obviously I'm mistaken when I think we're in an area of high unemployment and we are actually all loaded and can pay out loads every time the school thinks of another excuse to fleece us!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/03/2015 15:57

though poundland did have some sheep and tesco had some sheep stickers ;-)

and home bargains for some bits too.

mainly I'll get him to cut flowers out of fun foam and help me stick them on (then go behind with my glue gun, probably, to fix them permanently)

Wineandchoccy · 16/03/2015 16:03

I agree with the face fuzz and my DH uses hair clippers for the small amount of hair on his head and it gets everywhere.

I am never going to wear uncomfortable knickers again big pants are the future Grin

FiRaffe · 16/03/2015 16:04

That sounds really good Ebwy. i'm really looking forward to those kind of things
...For now I make up with it with my brownies.

seems unfair if you're in an area of high unemployment etc to ask you to bring eggs - surely if nothing else a local business could sponsor them or something!

RL20 · 16/03/2015 16:07

Firaffe glad your mw app went ok, 2cm/3cm is the final point either way before they are 'concerned' isn't it?
Have got my scan tomorrow afternoon as bump was measuring around 4cm behind, they think! This was last Wednesday at my mw appointment.
It baffled me a bit as I'd had a mw app (and scan for reduced movements) 3 weeks before and he was measuring just fine so I don't see how he can then be 4cm behind?! He's not shrunk, surely! It definitely doesn't feel like it anyway!

Boo I know what you mean about face fuzz! I notice it on the sink and on the windowsill (which is next to the sink) and when combined with the water that drops around the sink, it looks awful! I couldn't walk away and leave it, I don't know how he does! Also towels left on the floor... below the towel hanger...! Confused

Well I've been food shopping and now I feel worn out. I have to get my mum to come with me as I feel a bit out of depth going on my own now! Not to a little shop though, just braving ASDA! It's also handy when we get to the checkout and she can start scanning my things whilst I nip to the loo!
I do actually like food shopping but I'm tempted to start doing an online shop now (I feel very futuristic saying thatBlush) and get it delivered. I'm going to look at delivery prices etc. I'm starting to get achey whilst walking around which means I just can't concentrate on my shopping list properly! Also being in a first floor flat means doing at least 2 trips to take the shopping bags up, and I don't want to be doing that now, let alone in a few weeks to come!

Squatting I keep thinking I could still be here in May too! It's very possible, although I hope baby will be fully cooked and ready to come out before then!

smogsville · 16/03/2015 16:10

RL I can't stand towels on the floor. Makes me feel ill. I realise this is probably something I should see a therapist about.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/03/2015 16:13

I'm lucky - my fiance works 40 min away by car. And earns enough to support us. We went to Aldi and got around £5 of chocolate eggs and bunnies (75p bunnies! and they taste nice too :D ) because so many of the families can't afford it and it's sad that the kids miss out.

For the christmas fair it was "bring in bottles for the tombola" so we took him to morrissons and he chose the cheapest bottles of ANYTHING so there were loads for his £5 - there was a prize for the class who brought the most bottles (in relation to class size) so £5 worth of 20p bottles of ketchup and flavoured water etc meant that his class won... he's competetive!

FiRaffe I'll put a photo on the FB group when it's done. I've always loved doing this kind of thing but it takes time and energy! And it's just as well I'm not really using my card making supplies for anything really due to lack of time, because most of it seems to get used on kid projects instead (more fun anyway!)

cinnamongreyhound · 16/03/2015 16:14

Good news on the house and itching Sairie. Sounds likely then that palpitations are nothing to worry about but glad they are referring again.

Good news FiRaffe.

Glad you had a great time Nunkie :)

I got my SMA letter today, got the full amount from 7/4-jan if I want it Grin

No easter bonnets here just Easter bingo for ds1 and Easter egg hunt for ds2, with a £1 donation each.

I'm totally the opposite I really would like a spontaneous unexpected natural labour, probably because I never have and at the moment seems so unlikely that I will!

RL20 · 16/03/2015 16:16

Ebwy I hope they mean just the one Easter egg! If so, I noticed ASDA have lots in there for £1 each. Just them small ones, (haven't they downsized over the years?!).
Schools are ridiculous when it comes to things like that.
I used to work with a lady and almost every week she'd tell me, 'oh I've got to do such and such this week for school' for her little girl.
Everything from Easter bonnets to dressing up and making consumes. In only around 2 months they had World Book Day, Roald Dahl Day, and a Superhero day?! All of which you either had to buy or make a costume for! Or of course there's the option of letting your child feel left out because you can't afford to compete with people that possibly have the money and/or time to do more. It can be very unfair.

Anyway, rant over! Grin

RL20 · 16/03/2015 16:19

Cross posts, Smog RE towels - I would like to be one of those people who leaves the towel on the floor to prove a point to him that I'm not going to pick it up after him every time. But I just can't do it! Shock

RL20 · 16/03/2015 16:27

Oh no Blush off-subject but a girl I know who is about 3 weeks ahead of me (so around 38 weeks) has just put on Facebook that she's just been in 'the worst pain of her life' and has been told it could be possibly slow labour.
Why do people write these things on Facebook for people like me to seeConfusedBlush
Just makes me panic even more!
I think I was scarred for life with pain after having a grumbling appendix when I was younger, and it was a breathtaking pain that I couldn't control or do much about! Confused
When the pain is outside of the body like a cut or something, I'm completely different with it, but internal pain that you can't see just makes me feel all weird! Confused

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 16/03/2015 16:28

RL they do mean one egg, but when you have families struggling every week there are kids who can't afford to take one in (and a couple who'll be lucky to have one for themselves too in every year group). So we're taking extras as we can (no takeaway this week as a result, though) and then the kids at least get the chance to win one for 20p at the fair.

in the last 2 weeks we've had 3 reasons to spend out on costumes, make donations etc. It feels constant. "Wear it red for British Heart Foundation" - £1 "donation" plus actually having to make sure the kids had something red to wear. World book day - needed a costume. Red nose day - wear their own clothes for a £1 donation.
Then there's this easter egg appeal, buy an easter hat to decorate for the fair £1.50! before decorations

it's not just his school, they all seem to be like it!

it's a good thing my boy thinks most of it's fun, really.

FiRaffe · 16/03/2015 16:31

RL - yep 2cm is still ok, but because of my bmi they were expecting a big baby I think. At least we get to see little one again next week for the rescan!

ooh and online shopping, absolutely - they should bring it to your door so do the stairs for you!!!!

Hi all,

At the sizing scan, when they give you a C-section date... does anyone know if there is there any 'normal' or average week that they go for? I know part of it depends on baby's size (my first was BIG) but wondering if there is default stage they go for when mom is 40?

ie 38 weeks, etc?

I have mine on friday but am getting very impatient to know when the latest possible birth date will be!!
