Jessica we are not going to find out. Didn't with ds, loved the surprise and also enjoy the guessing and old wives tales that come out.

Shin, wouldn't make the connection between Rosie and Freddie and unless like jessica said your surname is in fact west?

The initial thing I wouldn't worry about either.

We gave our ds the only two names we liked stupidly. (Don't name a child at 2mins old lol)
So now could we used ds middle name for this one??

shinjuku09 · 17/03/2015 19:14

Thanks exciting.

Oh I'm an idiot, I completely meant to say before my surname is not West!! That really would be a bit dodgy!

Yes I think you could use the name exciting. Probably the worst that would happen is a few people may question why you used the same name twice but wouldn't think anyone would think anything of it (and who cares if they do Smile)

shinjuku09 · 17/03/2015 19:15

Sauv it's awful when it hits you like that. Stay in bed if you can!

Becca83 · 17/03/2015 19:17

Scan today went well. Picture for everyone not on the fb page :-) Any thoughts on boy/girl? We aren't going to find out, but fun to guess!

Tiredstressed · 17/03/2015 19:22

I hated NCT too - some of the information was handy (being generous) but I hated the format. I met some nice people but we meet rarely, especially now we are back at work. Some people meet friends for life there though so it is worth a go.

Not finding out the gender here - we didn't find out last time either. I was tempted at the 20 week scan but was happy that we resisted temptation in the end.

misskatamari · 17/03/2015 19:31

Awwww Becca, such clear scan pictures, they're lovely! I vote boy Smile We're hoping to find out the gender here, I'm too nosey not to know! Can anyone join up to the fb group? I've seen it mentioned a few times and it would be good to keep up with things on there - i find it hard to keep up with mumsnet!

Becca83 · 17/03/2015 19:35

Thanks katamari can't believe how char the brain is! I think boy too Smile. Of course you can join the fb group! I think one of the group admins needs to add you though as it's a private goup. I'm sure someone will be along soon who can add you on.

Meinthecorner · 17/03/2015 19:45

sauv I didn't go to work today and instead slept for another 4 hours. I am shattered had long naps at the weekend too.

GoooRooo · 17/03/2015 19:48

Misskatamari to join the FB group you need to be friends with me. I'll then add you to the group. Because it's a secret group there's no other way to join I'm afraid but if you send me a friend request I will accept and add you.

You can delete me as a friend - I won't be offended!

Awwww fab thank you GoooRooo!

Hare5260 · 17/03/2015 20:02

Has anyone noticed how utterly dumb they have become? I can't remember the most basic of things and conversation has been reduced to things like 'you know the thingy for the whatnot, do you know where it is?'. I used to be pretty smart!! Seems I hit 15 weeks and my IQ dropped by 50 points! #damnyoubabybrain

mrsdos · 17/03/2015 20:18

Hare I have developed the same stupidity... Last night I stood looking at the oven timer and announced in a very panicked way to dh that it was not working, it was on 01:00 and not counting down, he pointed out it was on one hour to which i managed to reply 'oh yeah it will look like that for a whole minute' he had no words! I am dreading what will happen over the course of the next 24 weeks!

sauvblanc21 · 17/03/2015 20:37

Phew Shin & corner - glad it's not just me! Hope you feel better soon corner. I've perked up a little with some nice plain pasta and a mini Twister ice lolly (it was perfection! Everyone must buy some!) Waiting to watch One Born Every Min then sleepy time Smile x

THEworrywart · 17/03/2015 20:43

hare yes! I'm so happy I suspended studies for the semester otherwise I would have failed exams and messed up all my placements, I didn't realise 'baby brain' happened so soon.

shinjuku09 · 17/03/2015 20:50

Honestly, I just can't get over hope tired I am in the evening this time round. It was bad last time but if someone told me I had to leave the house in the evening this time I'd literally cry.

We're currently debating finding out the gender. Didn't last time just cos couldn't decide what to do. I think I'd be happier not knowing til the birth if it wasn't for the fact I like to be really organised with baby clothes and really don't like most boy clothes so if it's a boy will be on a mission to find unusual stuff!

Has anyone ever regretted finding out??

Oh another reason we have just started to think about it is because I thought it might be nice to say to DD (who's only 20 months) 'you're getting a baby brother/like soon' or 'your getting a baby sister soon' rather than 'you're getting one but not sure which'! Has anyone else, or will anyone else, find out for the reason?!

shinjuku09 · 17/03/2015 20:52

Oh my gosh, why can't I read my messages before sending rather than after?! Sorry about the many typos and spelling/grammar errors!!

Treaclepie19 · 17/03/2015 21:06

Assuming all goes well tomorrow...
Did you tell people (as in announcing to the world) as soon as scan was done or once you were low risk?

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 17/03/2015 21:07

Shin, it's the tiredness that's killing me this time too. I knowing have ds to run around after but I'm done in, about to go to bed now in fact. Thought it would improve in second trimester but am 14 weeks tomorrow and no change.

TheMidnightHour · 17/03/2015 21:31

Started a new job today. It's not quite as described (when are they ever?) and am spending a lot more time driving than I expected (more time in an office that's not handy, and worse traffic).

Haven't told work I'm expecting as I thought I wouldn't get hired if I did. (It's only a temp job but still.) Anyone have a thought on when you first start to indisputably show as pregnant, not just fat? Am a big girl anyway, so hopefully I've got a while, but one of the team is (openly and very obviously) pregnant and only seems to be due about 8 weeks before me!

Guavasforbreakfast · 17/03/2015 21:48

Shinjuku we're finding out, I agree it'll be nice to tell S which it is (although he prob won't understand!). I don't like a lot of high st boy clothes either. I love Scandinavian stuff, colourful and practical. Some H&M (leggings and boy tights particularly) can be nice - I really don't like baby boy jeans etc, I like dressing him comfortably. Like a baby not a mini man!! I love Polarn O. Pyret - expensive but I tend to buy in the sale. TK Maxx actually sometimes has some good scandi stuff if you look hard enough! And I do love dungarees on boys actually - I get those from Gap usually when they have some sort of offer on.

Guavasforbreakfast · 17/03/2015 21:51

And we didn't regret finding out at all! I'm glad I was able to focus on my little boy through the trials of labour going wrong, it somehow made him more of a person in his own right to me rather than an unknown baby.
Although they can always get it wrong as in the case of my sister!

sauvblanc21 · 17/03/2015 22:16

Treacle Hope all goes brilliantly tomorrow Smile We're holding off telling people until we hear about blood results - it's only an extra 3 days until we hear if anything is awry. If no phone call in 3 days all is good so we're planning to tell people on Saturday (when we see them to watch the rugby!) Xx

Treaclepie19 · 17/03/2015 22:21

Thanks sauv :)
Hmm, we will have to decide tomorrow.
I just want to tell everyone :p

Good luck for the scan tomo treacle! I think DH and I will be finding out the sex, as I think it will help us to bond with baby before birth rather than it being "it", plus it's very practical for getting hand-me-downs and cheaper clothes etc! Also (don't tell my midwife) I am a vet so more than likely will be scanning baby when I can sneak a moment to myself at work and might be able to tell the sex myself so surprise ruined! Totally understand bothways

countrybumpkingirl · 17/03/2015 23:02

Oops, pressed post too soonSmile ...totally understand both ways of thinking.
