Anyone else just exhausted?! 14wks and just want to sleep.....
DS1 has dreadful tummy bug at the moment, had the lovely task of getting a 'sample' for docs to send for testing Confused but poor little monkey is so tired himself and when poorly only wants his mummy, which is hard when i work full time Sad the guilt of having to leave him with my parents when poorly is awful Sad but he loves being with Grandma and Grandad. Just wish we could win the lottery and be able to be a SAHM.....

THEworrywart · 11/03/2015 13:19

Right I am in so much pain on my left side in the lower left quadrant but not in my reproductive area, I feel like I'm being stabbed but it shoots up and down and hasn't gone away since this morning.

I rang the doctors they said it's normal, I really don't know though. I don't want to phone the epu tomorrow if it will waste their time :( and I'm not bleeding so surely they won't see me anyway?

All my family are on long shifts and I don't want to worry them. It's giving me a severe panic attack :( anyone else atleast had this?

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 11/03/2015 13:28

[Theworrywart] I get all sorts of pains in my stomach some severe some not so. its probably just part and parcel of everything stretching to make room for baby.
If your so concerned tho, don't wait until tomorrow to phone EPU, phone them today and see if they will see you.
I am a worrier myself and sometimes a bit of reassurance is all that's needed.
Im sure you and baby are fine.

so sorry to hear your news kitty Flowers

Hare5260 · 11/03/2015 13:47

Worrywart please just phone your local EPU and get an appointment. If it is causing you to have a panic attack, you need to get seen. It's probably nothing, I have had lots of weird pains, some dull, some really bloody painful but if it's causing you this much upset, the only way to be sure is seeing a professional. x

bonzo77 · 11/03/2015 13:58

worry go to EPU or even A&E. It could be appendicitis which one is predisposed to in pregnancy. Being fobbed off by your GP is clearly not helping you, you need some answers so you can feel less anxious.

THEworrywart · 11/03/2015 14:05

It's not appendicitis I know that for definite. My EPU is only open 9am-12am I rang the hospital they said it's round ligament pain, hate being diagnosed over the phone!

ShootTheMoon · 11/03/2015 14:05

hello ladies, I haven't been around for the last few threads as I can't possibly hope to keep up, but I just wanted to pop in to say that we had the 12 week scan today and all looks wonderful. As expected due to my shorter cycles, squish is measuring ahead of dates and I was moved to 12+6, which the sonographer spotted straight away as she was seeing a spine and ribs, which aren't usually formed at 12 weeks apparently. Nuchal measurement was 1.7, which bodes well, though I recall that my bloods last time brought my results quite a lot higher than expected. New EDD is 17 September so I'll be hoping that I don't get any BP complications which may see me induced at 37 weeks. I think I'm heading the way of gestational hypertension again but this time around I will be a lot more bullish about treatment and diagnosis.

My heart goes out to you kitty and to others who have had bad news. I can't even begin to imagine the sorrow, but you're in my thoughts, and I hope that treatment goes as peacefully as it can under the circumstances.

Cake, Brew, and Flowers to all, wishing happy and healthy pregnancies wherever possible.

bonzo77 · 11/03/2015 14:17

shootthemoon ah, we are EDD buddies!!

worry it's so hard being anxious. The pain is there and real and worrying. I'm a worrier when pregnant, and feel like a prat for calling the MW or GP when as likely as not its normal. But you just don't know do you. And just occasionally the hyper vigilance pays off and you feel vindicated!

ShootTheMoon · 11/03/2015 15:10

Ooh, race you bonzo!

shinjuku09 · 11/03/2015 15:25

Hope you're ok worry. It really is likely to be nothing serious but always best to be checked if you're worried. Could a call to 111 help reassure you?

Monkey I can just about survive the day but as soon as DH comes home the exhaustion hits like a brick wall. Didn't have the energy to go out for dinner for my birthday the other day so DH cooked for me. Unfortunately didn't even feel awake enough to sit at the table to eat so a TV dinner it was! I was pretty tired in the eve all through my last pregnancy but not sure I was this bad. Had definitely been out in the eve a couple of times by this point and was going out running after work. I think it's looking after a toddler. I honestly feel like I've never got my energy back properly since she was born!

bonzo77 · 11/03/2015 15:52

shoot sounds like either of us could go early. DS2 was at 35 weeks. I'm just praying that it stays as long as possible, and definitely until September for school reasons!

THEworrywart · 11/03/2015 16:10

Ended up ringing my sister an obs which I honestly didn't want to do, she said it sounds like round ligament pain and not to worry unless it debilitates me or I bleed. The consultant did say because I'm so slight I'll probably 'stretch' more.

Monkey I am drained I don't function between 7pm and 6am I'm useless.

elio · 11/03/2015 16:13

Have just been called with results- the baby doesn't have Downs.

Don't have the words to explain how relieved I am!

Thank you so much for everyone who sent lovely messages. Being able to talk about it on here has meant so much. X

THEworrywart · 11/03/2015 16:19

Congrats elio happy for you

SpamAnderson · 11/03/2015 16:33

Fab news elio what a relief for you!

StrawberryCheese · 11/03/2015 16:34

Just catching up on the last few pages of the thread. So sorry to hear your news Kitty. That is heartbreaking Sad

Elio Yay! Hopefully you can relax a bit now.

I had a voice mail message from my GP yesterday asking me to call him back regarding my test results from booking in appointment. I panicked a bit and was really nervous as I was waiting on hold for 10 minutes. It turns out I have a urine infection. I thought I would have pain if I had an infection or at least some symptoms to look out for. Been prescribed the biggest antibiotics I've ever seen Shock and have to take three a day. I'm going to be rattling!

bonzo77 · 11/03/2015 16:35

elio so so pleased for you. Another hurdle surmounted!

Tiredstressed · 11/03/2015 16:43

That's great news elio!

eallison88 · 11/03/2015 16:44

Hi all. Been a bit silent recently... was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum at 7 weeks. Had a few hospital visits to have drips to rehydrate and on medication for the sickness. Just popping on to urge anyone who us really suffering from sickness, especially as we enter into second trimester, speak to your Dr or midwife. Particularly if you are really struggling to keep food or drink down. I'm by no means 100%, but without the medication I wouldn't be eating anything and drinking very little. So if you think that perhaps it's more than "normal sickness" just get yourself to the doctor to be checked out. I though it was normal, but it's not.

Toffeegirl39 · 11/03/2015 16:47

Lovely news Elio. Must be a huge relief.
I had my consultant appointment yesterday- very impressed - he had both my DS's old notes with him. Very thorough. I've got to have extra growth scans and the steroid jabs for baby's lungs at 32w. Thought he'd tell me to go for a CS but he said no reason why I can't try for VB. anyone else had a VBAC?

Jessica32 · 11/03/2015 17:45

Elio That's really great news I am really pleased for you. Now you can enjoy everything more. x

thecrab · 11/03/2015 18:18

afternoon ladies, had my 12 week scan today and baby is looking good. Hated the hospital though! Receptionist was so cold and didn't look at us and the lady doing the scan spoke to me like a child and just rushed the whole thing.

Walked out of there fuming and demanding to DH we go private. (have calmed down now)

Hope everyone else is having a nicer day

Toffeegirl39 · 11/03/2015 18:28

Oh no crab. That's a shame. Hopefully the other people looking after you will have a better bedside manner!
Great news baby looks good though. :)

shinjuku09 · 11/03/2015 18:28

Worry I'm on the slim side and get terrible stretching type pains sometimes! Hope you feel reassured now though know it's still not nice.

elio that is fantastic! So pleased you have the result and it was what you hoped for.

So glad you got treated for your sickness eallison. Sorry it's been so bad though. I really struggle just with normal sickness so can't imagine how hard it must be for you.

showtunesgirl · 11/03/2015 19:24

I'm currently in the waiting area waiting for a placenta mapping appointment. They're going to see if my anterior low lying placenta is on my c section scar. If it is, it will be an elective for me.
