Am 34 weeks this weekend-am quite happy to wait a bit longer for Kitlet's arrival-don't feel all that prepared, eeek!! Grin.

Looks like we all have a list of jobs to do - I must stop procrastinating...

longest I'm 30+5 too... Think there a few of us right at the back!

Happy Friday ladies hope everybody has a good weekend! We are going to do a walk around of our new house tomorrow and make sure everything is to our liking! Very exciting!

cuphat · 20/03/2015 18:29

Longest, I'm 30 weeks today. I feel like time is going too quickly but that's due to having DD; I want to spend as much quality time with her as possible before baby is born. I'm having a section so won't have a chance to go over.

Piglet, it was a totally clear sky here (and warm) so we had a great view of the eclipse.

We're finally starting on the nursery this weekend. I feel much better now there's a plan in place and we're making a start!

bradders85 · 20/03/2015 18:49

Happy Friday Ladies!! So pleased I don't have to set my alarm tomorrow (although I'll probably be up at my usual 4:30am slot!!)

chook bet your excited to see your new house tomorrow hope everything is how you want it!

piglet we saw it a little but put the BBC live stream on in our lessons this morning, one girl thought she couldn't watch it on the tv incase she was blinded!

cuphat enjoy starting the nursery!! :)

We built our nursery furniture over the last 2 days and I have just got very excited about actually putting things in drawers etc!!! :)
I have also made a start on my hospital bag tonight (34+1) and been making a list as I put things in - I have a little suitcase for the ward and a little holdall type bag to include labour stuff and baby items but getting confused as to what to put in which!! Confused

Hope you all have a lovely weekend......my Friday starts with chippy tea!

leanne963 · 20/03/2015 19:23

Hi longest I am 30+5 so only a few days ahead! I still feel like i have quite a long way to go yet! But on the grand scheme of things we are so close to seeing our babies :)

Bradders I just bought some nipple pads and maternity pads in Tesco, i thought might as well! I will probably start packing my hospital bag at the beginning of April, i dunno why i just have a feeling she will be early so i want to be prepared ha!

I think i have had the most active day today in a long time and i really started to notice the weight of the bump. Really felt heavy and started to ache after a while, i am soooooo glad to be off my feet now ha!

I am the same with the terrible sleeping, waking up at 2am and then really struggling to get comfy again and get achy hips!

KittyVonCatsington · 21/03/2015 07:25

Morning ladies!!

Thank God it's Saturday. Work is getting quite tough with a big baby bump Grin

Must try and stay away from any cake today Wink

Happy wknd all Grin

Chookford · 21/03/2015 08:37

shiny two finger ones are fine!!! Grin

longestlurkerever · 21/03/2015 09:06

Big wave to everyone at the back of the bus! Envious of all your chocolate eating though.

Going to an nct sale this morning. Don't need much as have it left over from last time but have a short list of things to look out for and am determined not to be suckered into buying anything else!

Scottishgal78 · 21/03/2015 09:08

Morning all! Beautiful day here in Glasgow! Looked at my Amazon wish list this morning and the medela swing electric pump is down to £99. Anyone have any recommendations on a pump. They're expensive so don't don't want to waste money. My sis said worth investing in a double. The ARDO calypso has good reviews and not much dearer than the single Medela. Any advice gratefully received!

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/03/2015 09:10

The Madela is what they use in hospitals, when DS3 was in at 6 weeks old with bronchiolitis I used one for all his feeds because they were going through a tube, it only took 10 mins max to get a good full bottle, I would highly recommend one. Smile

Scottishgal78 · 21/03/2015 09:11

Single or double tits

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/03/2015 09:16

I was using a single but I had huge amounts of milk, I don't have any experience of a double, I assume it's just even quicker to pump both sides at once. Smile

SmileyScooby · 21/03/2015 09:21

Happy weekend all! (Although was still up at stupid o'clock)
Been a stressy week at work but glad weekend here, I also had bbc live on in lesson as it was so cloudy couldn't see anything outside!

chook hope tour goes well today, how exciting!!
Kitty also feeling totally unprepared, (am 32+3) work stuff keeps getting in the way (marking etc) or am too tired when get home.

Re hospital bags am thinking one bag for me and one bag for baby but am not sure on size of bag...will probably be a holdall as can squish etc if no space. Any advice? Am going to start that start of April I think.

I swear bump is continuining to drop really hope he doesn't come early (only because not got everything ready!!!) have got extra scan end of next week so will be interesting what consultant says.

Oh and shiny don't worry about the kitkats, it was work colleagues birthday yesterday and there were 3 different cakes (medium size) - choc, lemon, carrot - I had slice of each...well it would have been rude not to taste people's homemade efforts hehe.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

longestlurkerever · 21/03/2015 09:46

The trouble with pumps is you don't know how mych you're going to use it. I bought a medela swing but dd really didn't get on with bottles and I must have used it 5 times or so. A friend expressed every feed and ended up investing in a hospital grade one. The medela was the one recommended to me and I have no experience with any other type. It seemed to work fine but I still found it a dispiriting experience. It certainly took longer than 10 mins for me and I found it actually got harder as bfing got more established as my boobs would fill in response to dd's cues and I wouldn't have excess milk lying around to pump off of she wasn't there demanding it.

Now I still have the pump but the pipe bits have gone mouldy. If I can get new ones of those I will replace them but if not I am not sure what to do about getting a new pump. I might just use formula on the occasions I need to use a bottle and get a hand pump for removing excess milk. Dunno.

Ooh that sounds like you have a nice day planned tori I think I'm just gonna be lazy today!

Anyone else feel like the no sleep thing is making them go slightly doolally?! In uni yesterday I was doing some presenting for an assignment and reading off an autocue, I am a very very fast talker (think vicky pollard) so I am always being told to slow down! But yesterday I was told I was speaking really slow amd that i needed yo go much faster!! I felt I was speaking really fast and I genuinely couldn't go any faster and it felt like the autocue was going so fast!!! I just wanted to cry afterwards cause I was like 'am I being really dopey?! Is something wrong with me?!' and when i ended up producing I just couldn't focus on all the visual mixing and I was getting lost all the time of what buttons I should be pressing!
I'm just really worried as I have 5 more assignments due by the time I break up at the end of April and I just feel so 'not me' at the moment , I just feel dumb :( god I need sleep!

longestlurkerever · 21/03/2015 10:30

Replacement tubing purchased so I guess I am set after all! My butterfly and tree stickers just arrived. Can't wait to put them up but going to wait till dd is in bed or she will want to "help".

Chookford · 21/03/2015 10:55

I had a manual pump last time and for me it wasn't great I'm thinking of an electric one this time and if I don't need it I will just sell it on eBay... Pumps are the same as breastfeeding for some they work a grat for others not so much so it's going to be a case of wait and see for me!

Chookford · 21/03/2015 10:55

*great

KittyVonCatsington · 21/03/2015 11:24

The single medala pump is the one I have-actually a lovely mumsnetter let me have hers for a really good price so even if I don't use it that much, i won't be too upset Grin I also have an Avent manual pump which came in it's starter box too. Am extremely anxious about feeding so just want to have lots of bases covered (have a tub of SMA on standby too!)

Last weekend was the first time I bought some things for the hospital bag-all of it came from Asda-maternity pads, breast pads, newborn nappies, those little bottles of pre-made formula just in case and some snacks like brevita breakfast biscuits for DH if in the middle of the night and he needs a pick me up. We are going to use his Nike holdall plus a little ruck sack for extras. Was going to get baby basics over the Easter break.

leanne the most out of breath I get is when teaching my classes standing still! Started a couple of weeks ago (around your stage) and I have to really pace myself at he front of the classroom ??

Must get back to coursework marking...mumsnet is addictive!!!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for your support. There have been some tough times in this pregnancy but your complete understanding in my awful chocolate eating habit has just been awesome! I shall keep on munching WinkGrin

leanne963 · 21/03/2015 11:41

Aww I bet it's tough having to be active all day and on the ball kitty I just feel so useless, not myself at all! Have any tips?!

shiny chocolate is a staple part of my diet ;) I would never judge anyone for eating any, I would in fact ask them if I could have some!!

Happy Saturday everyone.

I'm only 30 weeks but the baby's head feels so low down it's like I'm constantly needing a wee. I don't remember this feeling with my 1st but maybe that's cause he was transverse.

Hope everyone is enjoying getting all their baby bits together. I don't have anything yet, I think I should get my arse into gear Grin
