Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Congratulations plummymummy and jenster! I did a test again this am and this time got a BFP rather than a little thin one like last week. Feeling much happier now! I too am glad to hear that others have young ones too, mine will be 13 months this week so not as young as others but still feel like there is a LOT she will have to learn to do in the next 9 months - will 21 months be too young to teach her to change nappies?

jennster · 13/11/2006 10:03

I am 20 months older than my little sister early riser, and my mum had me potty trained by the time sis was born. I took some massive backward steps though when she came along. Also back then it was cloth nappies so easier to potty (I am told)

Bodkin · 13/11/2006 10:08

Morning all. Congratulations to all the mewcomers - the July thread is starting to fill out nicely!

Have well and truly started telling people now, with the proviso that it is early days yet. Have found myself in a couple of situations over the weekend where I just couldn't be bothered to make up some flimsy excuse as to why I was on the apple juice and not wine, so the cat is sooo out of the bag for me now.

I've gone off chocolate now too. Isn't that weird - even the texture of it makes me feel a bit "ew". Last pg i craved watercress soup all the time. Might make it for lunch today - it is supposed to be very good for you.

Bodkin · 13/11/2006 10:08

ahem, "Newcomers"

Mumpbump · 13/11/2006 10:22

Crikey - this thread has been busy over the weekend. Told my Dad on Saturday night, but am not telling anyone else for a while as my sister got engaged this weekend and I don't want to detract from her news... We didn't tell anyone until about 4 months last time, but I agree that I am finding it hard to be bothered to make excuses this time around...

sickybump · 13/11/2006 11:51

Hi all and congratulations!

I was really excited to see a thread for July 07, so I hope it's ok if I join. My EDD is 6 July.
I'm very new to all this so apologies in advance!
This is my first baby, I'm 26 my DH (assuming this means husband???!!) is 37 and living in SE London.

Mumpbump · 13/11/2006 11:57

Hi sickybump! Assume that means you might be suffering from morning sickness???

sickybump · 13/11/2006 12:02

Yes, you guessed right, I thought i'd be subtle!

sickybump · 13/11/2006 12:03

I have tried everything and so far nothing has worked.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Mumpbump · 13/11/2006 12:13

They say ginger (in whatever form) helps nausea. Eating little and often is also meant to help, I think. People with m/s are much less likely to m/c, so it is quite positive, if unpleasant!!

Groveregg · 13/11/2006 12:14

Hi, I found crystallised ginger really helpful when I was pg with ds; I used to have secret stashes of it everywhere and would munch on a piece whenever I felt sick.

Sorry to butt in this thread - but I might be joining this thread officially in a couple of days! Did a test yesterday and it was really faint so am going to wait until Wednesday (if I can) before doing another one. Def feel a bit pg though - nauseous and my sense of smell has gone a bit haywire just as it did last time. Just a bit shocked as this was the first month we have been trying!

sickybump · 13/11/2006 12:24

Thanks but have tried ginger and not worked so far, glad to hear the m/s and m/c thing though as had to go for a scan at the EPU as have been experiencing some bloody discharge and pain (sorry, was that too graphic?!) so that's good to know. They said it was to early (5 weeks) so will be going back next Monday for another one. Fingers crossed.

Congrats to Groveregg as well.

Cyee · 13/11/2006 13:25

Hello,
Things that have worked for my general all round queasiness:

  1. I have a ginger biscuit and/or M&S wheaten cracker and hot water when I wake up (inevitably) for late night/morning pee, or first thing before getting up. 2)Keep maynards wine gums on me. Sucking them is great. Also always have chewing gum. It's empty mouth that seems to do it for me
  2. Keep blood sugar constant.. ie always eating something in my case!

Just been out to buy fruit bars and other snacks that I hope I might fancy instead of wine gums. I am having a serious addiction to S&V crisps though... from like 9am!!!!

I'm just over 6 weeks now and the nausea is really kicking in...grrrrr.

Hope you feel better soon.

jennster · 13/11/2006 14:10

Travel band (the ones that look like wrist sweat bands) are meant to be quite good for nausea. The only thing that worked for me was eating constantly though!

hi everyone i hope you are all fine today i hate morning sickness, especially when it is all day. i'm having to eat constantly and will be big as a horse before i know it oh well there will be bigger to come!

earlyriser · 13/11/2006 14:41

sickybump- definitely eat little and often and persuade your dh to bring you a cup of tea (redbush has no caffeine)and rich tea biccy before you get out of bed. Must have worked as the only time i really felt sick was when i didn't manage to eat lunch, and too ill to stomach tea so becomes a bit of a vicious circle.
Jennster, am using cloth nappies with my dd so fingers crossed potty trained by july (ha! who am i kidding?!).
Kyte, baby carrying is fantastic i had a courie pouch from www.brightsparkslings.co.uk which was wonderfully cosy for a new born but hurt my back after a few months. Washing cloth mappies is a doddle, you'll have so much loads of other clothes to do anyway i just bung them all in together.
Good luck all!

Miaou · 13/11/2006 15:25

Hello, I'm coming here to join you! Just got my bfp this morning at the GP's. Am very pleased and excited. This will be my fourth

Pookey - look! Here we are again!! (Pookey and I had babies in August 05 so know each other from ante- and post-natal threads going a while back!)

Congratulations to all so far

jennster · 13/11/2006 17:11

I LOVE cloth nappies. Just bought a load of size 2 popper bamboozles with the thought in the back of my head that there might be 2 bubs wearing them at one point.... We have d and v at the moment though so not nice.

Tutter · 13/11/2006 18:42

hi all - just a quick update from me. i had a bleed on sunday morning (only 2 days after BFP). feared the worst, esp as i also had tender and crampy tum, but it stopped pretty quickly and there's been no more since. have everything crossed that it's a keeper.

am just sticking my nose in before bathtime - haven't got time to catch up with thread - but hope you're all well, and congrats to new joiners

undergroundernie · 13/11/2006 19:00

Hi everybody,
I haven't all the threads yet, I was lurking on the conception thread but I did get a faint BFP this morning. Very excited but trying not to get carried away. This would be my third pg and I'm really hoping its true, ds is 4 and dd is 2.5. Could anyone help me about due dates, I have irregular periods and PCOS and the first day of my last period was 1st October but my cycle is usually around 6 weeks. I reckon conception may have occurred around 30th October. Does anyone have similar dates and what is your due date. Am a little worried as we have a holiday booked for 30th June-6th July.

Cakehead · 13/11/2006 19:15

Hey Pookey and Miaou, I was on the August 05 thread too - but an intermittent poster. How funny we're all here again...

As for m/s, I read about these Preggy Pops lollies you can buy online here - know people who've sworn by them. Haven't tried them myself and m/s is very different this time around. Tend to feel queasy in the afternoons, post-lunch, so not in too dire need. Has anyone tried them before?

Undergroundernie, my dates are different to you, but I think I conceived between 5th and 10th, and I'm due 1st July, I think, so I'm guessing you've got two/three clear weeks post-hol?

Miaou · 13/11/2006 19:35

Hi Cakehead, I remember you! That's amazing, three repeaters! (Can't be all bad then )

Cakehead · 13/11/2006 20:24

We've done OK, haven't we?! My August LO was my first and I can't quite believe we're about to start it all over again, but I'm hugely excited. And as DH says, it's not like we've got used to lots of sleep since...

jennster · 13/11/2006 21:11

Uughh have evening sickness...Think Haagen Das might help it.
