Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Ah, yes a cunning code. I like it. DD is probably a bit young to understand the significance of it all yet anyway. Sometimes she tells me she has a baby in her tummy! Was good to test the water with her though and get the thumbs up. Will sit down with her when things are a bit further along and do the proper "baby" chat, I think.

justbeme · 10/11/2006 18:24

Been to the Drs today and filled in the form to get your free prescriptions and start the ball rolling with the local hospital.
Then went and bought myself loads of "big knickers" - i think i'll wean myself off my G Strings! Also 2 new Bras - gone up a cup size already! all in all - bought 2 playtex bras and 10 pairs of pants for £15 in TK Maxx Clearance - Full retail value £80 odd - so feelin pleased with myself (cheaper than Primark! )

Hello! Can I join in please? I got my BFP on Oct 31st and am due on the 6th of July. Am already quite excited about the possibility of bump arriving on the 7th of the 7th 07 so you can see how sad I am!

Congratulations everyone!

A few details about me - I'm 25, dh is 28 and this is our first baby. We live in the North East and it took us a year to get out BFP xx

Kyte, that's a tricky one. I'm sure you should go, because you'd be really unlucky if it came early at a wedding. Chances are that it won't. But it IS a long drive, and the train would at least give you a chance to move about and have a stretch. And you're very good with your seeds. I've just eaten two packets of Wotsits. No idea why. Just wanted them very much.
I craved them last time around and it was a bit embarrassing, as we were at a kids' party and there was I, scoffing all the wotsits and ignoring the adult snacks. One of the other mothers insisted on getting me another bowl, saying 'There's obviously something in them you need...' Quite what that would be, I've no idea. Bright orange colouring?!

Earthtomummy - I'm with you. Odd waves of queasiness but nowhere near my once-a-morning throw-up I had with DD. I've been sick once, and that was it. My sister thinks it's because I'm having a boy (not that she'd know, of course!) - she says you have less morning sickness with boys. What about you?

earlyriser · 11/11/2006 14:09

I'm with you all on the gotta eat now (but then i've always been pretty good at listening to my need to eat!) no odd desires yet except savoury over sweet. was addicted to walkers salt and vinegar last time. I've got 2 weddings next year, may 20th and the 6th July, my edd is 16th so should be ok at both, prob is they are brother and sister so that means 2 maternity wedding outfits...
Has anyone told people yet? I'm only 5 weeks but told my mum and dad ('so what mischief have you 2 been up to then?' says dad- should i have told him?? and best ante natal pal.

Bodkin · 11/11/2006 14:28

Earlyriser and Kyte, you both have my sympathies trying to find maternity wedding outfits - and having to find 2 - ouch! I get so stressed when I have to buy posh clothes as am definitely a jeans kinda gal, having to do it while heavily pregnant sounds like torture. Maybe on-line shopping is the answer?!

Keep fighting the urge to tell everyone I am up the duff - had to tell my sister though as I knew she would be so excited - she has 2 boys and has hung her baby-making boots up, but loves babies so she is very chuffed. I am not even 5 weeks yet, and although I'm not going to wait until 12 weeks like i did first time round (bit stressful trying to hide it from everyone), I think I'll leave it until 6 weeks, it sounds much more pregnant than 4 and a half!!!

Some good snacking going on. All I really feel like are lots of cups of decaf tea with sugar - but then that is the normal state of affairs...

Kyte, definitely an Anabel Karmel....making me feel v guilty! As for the wedding I'm in Plymouth, it's a long drive from anywhere def recommend the train.

Have a confession to make...think i'm addicted to MN come on here every night to lurk or chat don't know if it's the company or just the chance to talk babies (cos i can't do it anywhere else yet!) similar syptoms anyone???

flopflip · 11/11/2006 21:39

Very similar symptoms nurse ! I had my leaving do from work today as moving up Norf!! I had an issue with the not drinking thing and with my friend having IVF. It turns out that for various reasons, nobody was drinking out of ten of us. Sounds really sad but handy.

Relating to the food thing, last pregnancy I couldn't eat as got really bloated all the time. I thought I had got away with it but now rearing it's ugly head. Oh well, the gorging is over, shame though as have good excuse.

Hope everybody is well and not suffering too much, and hello to everybody new.

P.S I am also now an addict

pookey · 11/11/2006 22:24

Sorry I have just read lots of messages but cant remember who said what cos pregnancy brain is already kicking in! I am constantly feeling nauseaus but havent actually been sick. I am secretly hoping the no nausea = boy thing is true because I had no real morning sickness with ds, so who knows maybe this one will be a girl! On the underwired bra thing I think strictly speaking underwires are out during pregnancy but I wore mine for as long as it was comfy last time with no app harm to milk production and my friend wears underwired bras and is breastfeeding without problem.
very tired must have sleep...

Bodkin · 11/11/2006 22:50

Definitely addicted too. And where does the time go when you're on MN? 3 hours disappeared last night!!! Was reading Christmas threads and getting all excited / panicky that I haven't started shopping yet.

Have had sore throat since getting BFP nearly a week ago. When is it going to go away, it is really starting to annoy me now! Is it a pg symptom or are my glands just up cos winter is approaching? Will make a hot lemon and honey and toddle off to bed

cazzybabs · 12/11/2006 16:17

Hello - I am also growing number 3. HAve 2dds - one is 4 and one 2. Have only just found out so am very excitied!

helenmumof2 · 12/11/2006 16:27

hello, i told my mum and dad and the in laws on friday night and they were all a bit stunned9apart from dad who had apparently guessed) my mum said she would have put money on me not having anymore ha ha.
am feeling really sick but not actually being sick, and certain smells make me want to spew especially sawdust as i've just cleaned out the rabbits yeuch.

cazzybabs · 12/11/2006 16:34

Kyte - would you mind having twins? I know a couple of people who have had twins and thye have alll had really bad morning sickness! OHH how exciting!

But I must repeat the mantra - I muts not get too excited, I must not get too excitied as I had a lateish misscarriage in feb this year at 8 weeks.

cazzybabs · 12/11/2006 16:35

pookey I had bad mornign sickness with dd1 and none at all with dd2. I thought that meant dd2 would be a boy. I even told them at the scan "about him" and how I knew. When I lsft the room the scanner and med. student must have been wetting themselves! So much for preganant sixth sense!

helenmumof2 · 12/11/2006 16:42

i am having a complete panic attack that it is going to be twins, i can cope with 2 to 3 but not 2 to 4 .
hopefully i'll be able to get a scan before christmas, might have to try and persuade midwife though.

earlyriser · 12/11/2006 17:54

Kyte, are you veggie? your 'cravings' sound like my normal diet, but last time i was pg i wanted to eat lots of crisps too (maybe needing more fat?)

Cakehead · 12/11/2006 19:21

How are we doing today? I have to admit, I had my baby friends and partners from DD1 over today, and couldn't resist blabbing. I think I'm 8 weeks, so probably shouldn't say, but am in slightly sticky position as friend's sister is possibly going to be childminding DD in January, and I certainly need to tell her that we'll only need her up until May.

Wish I could get the urge to eat better... Picked at my mum's roast lamb tonight but seeing Bodkin offering round the the Monster Munch has got me salivating...

nursenotreallyevilatall · 12/11/2006 19:46

Had first nausea this morning but no sickness, last time ginger biscuits worked (..for a while ), the only ginger biscuits in the house this morning were dd's organix gingerbread men, she thought it was great time straight after breakfast for biscuits!!!

As for telling people trying sooooo hard not to say anything yet but my baby sister (27) is due Christmas eve phoned up for a long chat on fri managed not to say anything... partly cause I'm getting too excited for her (it's her first)

Aslarry · 12/11/2006 19:48

Yes, Pookey, I'm afraid I have to dispel the no m/s = boy thing. I was v lucky last pregnancy and had no m/s to speak of and had a girl! Nothing so far this time but then I am only 5 weeks!

plummymummy · 12/11/2006 22:10

Congrats to everyone expecting and so sorry for those of you who have m/c. Got my bfp last sunday. Will be 6 weeks tues. Very nervous as had suspected ectopic in Jan and m/c at 8 weeks. Planning to go to early pregnancy unit in 1 weeks time for transvaginal scan. So far feel a bit different to how I did with ds. Been getting twinges (not exactly aches) down below and ditto in my boobs. Also a sharp stitch in my boobs and side when walking. Weird. No awful bloating (which I had with the query ectopic). Not much of an appetite and have gone off chocolate. Tired ++ but then am always tired!

pookey · 12/11/2006 22:39

Oh bummer we also suspect it might be twins but I suspected that last time too
Congrats on bfp plummymummy I have been having twinges in my tummy I guess theres a lot going on with our bodies right now, maybe nervousness amplifies any twinges to feel worse than they are? Bodkin I have had a sore throat too but think thats a viral thing.

jennster · 13/11/2006 08:24

Hello folks, got my bfps on saturday night, sunday morning and sunday afternoon.
.
I still can't believe it. DD is 10 months and is fully bf. We were trying, but didn't think it would happen so quickly!

Our guesstimated due date is 14th. Glad I'm not the only one with a little one. As my midwife discharged me she said and I don't want to see you for 2 years.
