Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Hi everyone, I'm back. Im 6weeks and 5 days, and am starting to feel opptomistsic that this one will stay in, so feel I can start to believe it going to happen and can join in at last!

Definately feel p.g - sore boobs, going to the loo 4 times a night, and feeling sick alot of the time, the only thing that eases this is to eat - Ive put 4lbs on already!!!!

Also I am desperatley tired. I work 3 days a week, and am coming home and sleeping on the sofa each night. Twice this week I ve curled up on the couch with dd to watch cbeebies bedtime hour, and the next thing I know its 10pm, then I go up to bed, straight back to sleep and sleep till 6.30am. I do feel life is passing me by a bit, but if this is what it takes to stay pregnant , then bring it on!!!

Hi and congrats to all the newbies too!!!!

Hi Swift1 - welcome back! Glad all's going well for you...

Kyte, no signs of a moustache here (you're on your own with that one!), but my boobs are really tender. Having to sleep on a pillow to prop them up! Lol.

Mumpbump, I go through London Bridge too and I didn't see a Cadbury promotion! Bah!

I have real carb cravings - pizza, bread, crackers with cheese... Last time I was pregnant and felt sick, licking the flavour off Walkers chili crisps really helped.

Anyone tried Preggy Pops before?

earlyriser · 09/11/2006 14:54

Not got the tender boobies yet could that be to do with still bf dd? In a perverse way i'd love to have them as i would at least feel pg then. Congrats Kyte, have some spots (put that down to pmt til BFP)but no 'tash. What are preggy pops, are they ice pops? I am addicted to asda orange ice lollies (85% real oj so feel like they count as one of my 5 a day!)

earlyriser · 09/11/2006 14:55

Oh and congrats too to Swift!

flopflip · 09/11/2006 16:26

Hello all, i'm glad somebody else doesn't feel pregnant too. Eating everything in site but having no symptoms does make you worry a bit. I am awfully clumsy though , anybody else the same ?

Mumpbump · 09/11/2006 16:31

Indigestion is gone now, so feeling completely normal and no nausea any more either which is worrying me 'cos I remember reading last time that you have less chance of a m/c if you have nausea! Kyte - you can get morning sickness at any time of the day - they should really change the lingo!

I open up drinks/packets of stuff in shops normally without being pg!! Wait until you get the linea negra(sp?) - the hairy line down your tummy!

earthtomummy · 09/11/2006 17:07

I'm eating like a horse too. Making the most of it because with no 2 and no 3 i was v.v. sick till the birth. Slightly queasy at times/light headed and sore boobs, otherwise okay - apart from falling asleep whilst doing playdough with my 3.5 yo!! Got m/w appt. next wk. - v. surprisingly prompt! I shall prob. be relieved to feel really sick, but saying that a few wks. is more than enough...

Cakehead · 09/11/2006 20:05

Kyte, I'm very impressed that you reached for the sunflower seeds. I wouldn't have made such a healthy choice in your shoes! With DD, I had constant cravings for cheeseburgers and, as I work in Covent Garden, every time I came out of work at 5.00, the fumes of the traffic would hit me and make me retch. So I'd have to scuttle into McD's for a happy meal. Got so paranoid that my work colleauges were watching me every night, thinking I never ate properly... God, that's got me thinking... Very hungry now.

emma1277 · 09/11/2006 20:06

i,m deff with you on the acne front. It wasn't even this bad in my teens! No real tiredness or nausea tho which i must admit is worryimg. I dont remember how it was last time but am sure i felt sick! 5wks today! x

nursenotreallyevilatall · 09/11/2006 20:28

Still no signs here or maybe that should be considering the hyper-emesis thingy last time yuk!!!

Although on second thoughts think sense of smell is improving had patient with really cheesy feet yesterday made made gag every time I walked past (not very elegant, fortunately he was alseep)

Have been thinking(always dangerous) I plan to breastfeed again this time and can't remember when I'm supposed to give up my under wiring (boobs big already and beginning to develop the attractive 4 boob bulge) any suggestions???

FirstTimer40 · 10/11/2006 06:25

Hi all
Have been reading thread for a few days and thought I would join in. My nickname is from April when I had DS1 (at age 40). As age so vast we decided not to hang around to try for number 2 and despite fully breastfeeding had BFP few days ago . Cant quite believe I am going to be SecondTimer41, DS1 is less than 7 months now, he will be 15 months exactly when number 2 born. Current due date is 14 July. Have been referred for early dating scan as not sure of dates due to breatfeeding (was having periods though, they returned one month after the birth .)
Very excited and very apprehensive re miscariage risks etc at this early stage.
Good pregnancy last time but birth experience last April was not good - 2 weeks overdue, induced, loads prostin pain, eventually broke my waters through a 1cm dilation , then had 24hr labour with epidural, got to full dilation but baby stuck too high so ended in emergency caesarean (4 days after the start of the induction .
DS1 gorgeous and we adore him, cant quite believe he will be the big brother at such a young age.
Congrats to everyone and fingers crossed

flopflip · 10/11/2006 08:46

Hello first timer. I am in the same happy boat, dd1 is 6 1/2 mths and will be 15mths when this one is (fingers crossed) born. We too went for the second for the same reason. We have just resigned ourselves to a busy time. I too had a complicated ish labour and will apparantly be offered an elective c section with the next. Not sure whether to take them up on it.

Bodkin · 10/11/2006 09:52

Hello again.

Well done Flopflip and Firsttimer - you must both be thrilled / exhausted!

Kyte - aha a fellow mustachioed lady! Mine isn't hair though, it is like dark pigment on my top lip. I usually get it a bit in the summer and lash on the factor 20, but now I am starting to look like a bandito!!! Was thinking about your job (stop me if i'm being too facetious) but won't your work clothes make excellent maternity wear! (or do you not have to wear the full-on robes?)

Not much in the way of symptoms for me still, although I was fortunate enough to be like that when pg with DD. Makes me feel a bit of a fraud but at least I do now have a nice fat line on my tests though! And boobs are definately starting to look like they have a bit more life in 'em!

Agree with the "not hungry... er, right, now I'm ravenous" thing, Cakehead!

Best friend rumbled me last night, when we went round to another friend's for a girl's night in, I bought a small can of Guinness instead of my usual bottle of red wine. Told her it was early days yet so not to get too excited. Another friend was there who had lost a baby recently at 20 weeks ( ) She was talking about it quite candidly for the first time since it happened, and I struggled to keep from bawling all over the place while she was being so incredibly strong. Hope she gets another BFP soon.

Mumpbump · 10/11/2006 11:14

Hiya! Nurse - I wore an underwire bra until I bought a nursing bra at 37/38 weeks. There is actually an underwired nursing bra that you can get too. I thought it was okay to wear underwire 'cos your body only starts manufacturing milk around the due date... Would be interested in knowing if I'm wrong though!!

Tutter · 10/11/2006 11:41

hello all. latest incomer here - just got a bfp at only 3w4d (i think - not altogether sure).

i'm tutter. have an 18mo ds. edd 22nd july (ish).

wasn't expecting it to happen quite so quickly as it took 18 months and 3 failed pregnancies to get ds. this time round we only started to try last month.

we're in kew (sw london) now but moving to henley on thames in a month's time - i'd better gt looking at hospitals...

here's to a smooth 9 months (or a bit less) for us all...

abgirl · 10/11/2006 11:47

Hi all and congratulations to all the ladies who've joined since I last posted on here. Still v tired and nauseous most mornings - was actually sick two days this week! Have seen the midwife this morning to book in, she was doing it early so I can see the consultant asap due to problems with previous pregnancy. All the usual things and had blood taken for the first time since having DS, looked the other way (I am a real wimp). Have also told line manager this morning as will be having a fair few ante-natal appointments but otherwise we are keeping it quiet until 12 weeks, then surprising our family on Christmas Day!

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Bodkin · 10/11/2006 12:41

Blimmin'eck Tutter, that is fantastic news! You posted on the conception thread a couple of times and I remember you have had a bit of a 'mare in the past, so that must be wonderful for you.

earthtomummy · 10/11/2006 12:48

I'm bizarrely getting worried that I'm not being realy sick. With the 2nd and 3rd I know I was sick from around 4 wks. 5wks and a few days now and just the odd queasy moment. If it wasn't for my monumental tiredness I wouldn't really know I was pg.

saf1 · 10/11/2006 13:44

Hi all,

Got my BFP on Weds a day after AF due.

Only symptoms this time is teirdness. Last 2 times I felt nauseous scuse spelling?? right from the start.

Anyway DD2 (22mths) is asleep DD1(3yrs) is watching movie. Think I'll have a little snooze on the settee with her .

Congrats all
Lol

Bodkin · 10/11/2006 15:36

Hi Saf - hope you're having/had a nice snooze, and that the morning sickness stays away!

DD (2.10) just said to me as i was lying on her bed after a marathon hoovering session "mummy, you got a baby in your tummy?" Blimey, how did she know, we haven't told her yet! Unless DP dropped a few hints yesterday while I was at work.... I told her I might have, and what would she think if I did and she said "nice!" so that's a relief!

Has anyone else told their kids yet, and what were the responses?

Mumpbump · 10/11/2006 16:53

Dh did say to my dsc last night "What if we had another baby?" The way he said it, I thought it was obvious so had to backpeddle saying "oh not yet, I don't think" etc. The problem with telling them is how to explain if it doesn't go all the way. At the moment, we're using the code that I'm having a cup of tea - pg - pg tips!!
