Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Firststar good luck for tuesday xx

Not been on for a while as feeling awful. I did not feel this bad with dd perhaps is a boy giving me the hassle. Im off work again today I am just wiped out and couldnt not manage five lessons (including heart dissection) and taking an assembly. I think I would have just cried.

I havent received a letter form midwife yet so I rang the hospital who had my old address, so I found out my 1st appnt is on 18th and my scan on the 28th. yipee

Gingerbics · 07/12/2006 11:51

Good luck everyone with their scans. It is so difficult being positive. Just had to come home early as seem to have a bit more bleeding (just when i start to relax it happens again). Called EPU and they said that as they scanned me yesterday they won't do it again today so just got to sit tight (not easy eh!). So got pyjamas on and have taken root in the sofa. Got loads of work to do but just gonna watch crap TV I think. Firststar hope your bleeding has settled down, yes a nativity play will be a lovely distraction.
ABgirl, hope the scan goes well, got everything possible crossed for us all. Its a stressful business eh!

Gingerbics · 07/12/2006 11:53

Forgot to say EmmyB, wow heart disection, thats a struggle for a non queasy non pregnant person so don't blame you.

Cyee · 07/12/2006 12:26

Firststar - I'm really sorry to hear about the bleeding. Hope the scan goes well on Tuesday. Will be thinking of you. Lots of reasons to keep your hopes up, based on everyone's experiences.

Abgirl - I had my scan and am 9+4 today. Amended due date 8/7/07. I'm so relieved to see a heartbeat and movement. Thank you for keeping tabs and updating the stats!

Hope everyone is doing ok. This whole thing is fraught with anxieties isn't it? How can they expect us to relax?

Sorry to hear you are having an anxious time Firststar - we'll all be keeping fingers crossed. Keep well over the next few days.

Good luck with the scan Abgirl - at least you are in a much more knowledgeable position this PG than with your last one, so you'll be more prepared I imagine. I'm sure once you start asking questions you wont be able to stop!

Sorry you've been feeling so bad Emmy - Its a rotten time when you are feeling sick and tired. Take it easy and keep in mind that this will come to an end

Welcome Gingerbics! Best of luck to you and I hope the bleeding calms down.

As for me, still feel sick and exhausted by 8pm (well 2pm really but have to work and got toddler to put to bed!). I know I've gained a lot of weight in the last 2 weeks but constantly eating is the only thing that eases the queasiness. So I think I'll tackle the weight issue when I'm feeling better.

Chooster · 07/12/2006 13:12

Has anyone heard from Kyte recently? Hope she's OK.

Firststar so glad your bleeding seems to have settled down. Mine seems to have (touch wood) but feeling really tender. Next scan due between xmas and new year, seems a long way off. Thanks everyone else for your welcomes!
Am finding the MS feelings reassuring and keep pressing my boobs to make sure they still feel tender, going a bit crazy I think!

Know exactly what you mean.I keep thinking maybe my sickness feelings are just nerves, so paranoid!

abgirl · 07/12/2006 14:49

Chooster I am eating like a small cart horse at the moment as well to keep the feeling of nausea at bay. Not going to worry about weight gain too much though as put quite a lot on with DS and lost it all (and some more) before I got pregnant again (actually hope I can repeat that after this one! )

decafgirl · 07/12/2006 14:59

Hello! I haven't been around for a while but I've just got my scan date and I'm excited! I'm going for my 12 week scan on the 22nd of December. Am really pleased because it means that I can tell friends and extended family at Christmas.

Hope everyone's well. Can anyone tell me how things are going for them at work? I'm a primary school teacher and even though my head knows, things aren't being made any easier for me. In fact things seem a whole lot more stressful. Has anyone had their work place risk assessment done yet?

xx decaf

Cakehead · 07/12/2006 19:25

Hope you're doing OK Firststar. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Had my first Christmas lunch today - absolutely troughed it. Turkey + trimmings, Christmas pudding and no washing up. Bliss!

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

wethreebodkinsoforientare · 07/12/2006 19:38

Hi all.

Firstar and Gingerbics - sorry to hear you're having such a rollercoaster time of it. Get yerselves tucked up on that sofa (if you can) and we'll all keep our fingers crossed that things sort themselves out.

Chooster - I'm putting on sooo much weight this time round. Got away very lightly when pg with DD, but i'm like you this time - gotta keep eating, and if I eat something sweet, I might as well not bother, cos then my stomach just says "GET ME SOME SAVOURY STODGE NOW YOU MAD WOMAN" Tried some jellytots to get me through the afternoon at work, but they just made me feel hideous.

Saw my v. nice doc this morning, who just basically refers me to the midwives. Will wait for scan date to come through I guess.

Seems to be a lot of teachers and nurses on here - my thoughts are with you. That must be VERY hard work with MS.

earlyriser · 07/12/2006 19:39

Fingers crossed for you firststar, hope it was just a blip and nothing to worry about long term. roll on tues!

typhoonsmum · 07/12/2006 21:31

I won't tell you what I had to clean up today whilst suffering from ms. (it was brown, sloppy and VERY smelly)

So yes nursing can have it's downsides in pregnancy. But I think it has more upsides for me. (free unlimited scans, free 3d scan, midwifes and consultants on tap)

cazzybabs · 07/12/2006 21:50

typhoonsmum YUCKKKKKKKK. Poor you. I find it bad enough dealing with my own children's bottoms.

God is anyone else looking at their "darlings" and thinking OMG what have I done? I had a run in with my horible neighbour this morning (on another thread) and a little bit of me wished we had moved house and not gone for number 3, espcailly as when I got home both dds were fighting over something or other (I hid under the duvet listening to dd2 screaming down my ear - oh god I am a terrible mother!! )

I must make an appointment to go the doctors else I shall get told off again like I did with dd1 and dd2. With dd1 I went too early and dd2 I went to late...don't know why I bother, except this time I have a terribl;e sore ingrowing toenail (very embarrasing as it looks horrid) which I need someone to sore out with the help of anthestic. Only four more days to the end of term - I am counting as I so tired. But that is my own fault as I went out for a meal on Tuesday night and got back at midnight! And I am out on Friday - god we never go out and so am amking up for it now!

beartime · 07/12/2006 22:26

Hi gingerbics - hope your bleeding settles down. I also had bleeding on and off in the first trimester last pg, but they didn't find anything. In the end I gave up calling the EPU and just put off everything to rest when I had bleeding and it ended up OK. You know there is vanishing twin syndrome too - they reckon that way more twins are conceived than born and many disappear without trace.

Abgirl - hope your appt goes OK tomorrow - it sounds like you must have had a stressful time last time.

Firststar - I've also been doing the boob pressing thing, then ds did it for me a couple of times to my cry of agony!

You know its funny hearing teachers talk on here - I still have vivid memories of school. And so I am sitting here thinking - wow teachers actually have a sense of humour, wow they're not all scary

Anyone interested in what we should be eating - here's some specific info on how much of everything we should eat per day, from the US Department of Health:
www.womenshealth.gov/pregnancy/pregnancy/eat.cfm
Sorry - if you haven't noticed by now I am an internet-research-aholic

Gingerbics · 08/12/2006 06:41

Beartime, thanks for that, its always reassuring to hear positive stories.Hope you're well! The bleeding seems to have stopped(hopefully for a bit longer this time!)but stomach still feeling really tender so gonna take today off too. if it does start again I'd rather be at home, but Postitive Attitude today, keep looking at my little picture I got on Tues (before the last lot of bleeding)of little one and have been having words. My friend was asking if there was such a thing as a 'uterine naughty step', made me chuckle!
Abgirl, good luck for today, sending you positive vibes+++
Firststar hope the nativity went well. I'm going to one Monday afternoon, I'll prob be an emotional wreck and its not even as if I've got any kids yet, they're just always so loively and definately get you in a christmassy mood.

decafgirl · 08/12/2006 08:08

Morning all! Beartime, I'm pleased to hear you don't think all us teachers are scary! We've got our nativity dress rehearsal this morning and I feel like I'm still asleep so god only knows what it'll be like. It's only the whole rest of the school watching us

Need to go and find something stodgy for breakfast before the kids get here xx
