Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Oh I know Leisel - I'm with you on that. Pratically every time an M&S advert comes on I want whats on there! It even makes things I dont like look great!!!!

Its so good to hear that MS is coming to an end for some of you as that means its getting closer to finishing for us all - Here's hoping for an MS-free xmas.

3flights - Mmmm, thats a tricky one - I'd say it depends on where you family is (if you are close to them) what you'll be doing for work (if you go back) and where you're moving from / to? I lived in central London for about 10 years but moved up to Edinburgh when I was 8 months PG with DS. I've never lived in London with a baby so you'll have a MUCH better idea of how easy it is, but the advantages of being in Edinburgh for me are: a) We've got a better house which is still close to the city so I've only got a 20 min commute for work b) We'ev got family in Edinburgh and Newcastle so babysitting is much easier and c) the way of life is not so hectic and where we live is not so conjested (having said that we lived in Bethnal Green which is fairly busy - maybe you live in a quieter place?). Either way I guess it depends on where you want to bring up your kids... Its such a personal choice.

Anyway, I'm off to try and think of a christmassy name.... xx

typhoonsmum · 05/12/2006 14:28

Should I be feeling really light headed, dizzy and faint along with nauseous

Dophus · 05/12/2006 14:32

I did early on - it passes. Sit down, put your feet up. Have some chocolate or carbs. It may well be low blood glucose.

First few weeks I often thought I'd pass out. I didn't and it's OK now

earlyriser · 05/12/2006 14:38

Thanks for explaining PCV 3flights, i was foxed as to how to explain what is was without actually having to spell it! And as a biased scot i'd say move back up here, the weather is crap, the days are shorter but the air is fresher, unless you move to glasgow

Miaou · 05/12/2006 14:49

typhoonsmum, happens all the time to me! I have to get out of bed and get up from sitting really slowly otherwise I go black and my knees give way!

typhoonsmum · 05/12/2006 14:51

Just been to see "Noddy saves Christmas" with DD so i have a big tub of popcorn to eat.
A good excuse to eat chocolate then.

I don't like it. I feel awful. Might have a nap and see if that helps.

Myfairone · 05/12/2006 15:21

Hello ladies, I'm a newbie here and wanted to introduce myself. I was recommended by a friend to take a look at the site and thank god! This is my first pregnancy and I'm not afraid to admit that I am scared stiff!!!!! I am completely over the moon at being pregnant but really didnt know what to expect.

I went to the doctor the minute I found out (probably a bit silly!) but now feel that I'm just sitting it out alone! Thats where the site comes in! Hoooray!!!! I found some other people that understand what I'm whining on about!

I am due on the 29th July (OMG, so excited!). I'm 37 years old (was always worried it was goin to be difficult because of my age) and I'm currently petrified that things are going to go wrong! Am I being silly? Keep reading about miscarriage and ectopic and I have no clue why! I think that I want this so much that I'm trying to stop myself from being happy! Probably sounds weird - sorry!

Anyway, boobs are killing me, I feel constantly nauseous (unless I'm eating that is) and have lots of grumbly, niggly little pains in my tum.

Sorry to waffle on but sitting at work and want to just scream!

Good luck to all of you and thanks for this thread....very reassuring.

Have a great day all.
Big hugs

Miaou · 05/12/2006 15:33

Hello myfairone, welcome to mumsnet and to this thread! Don't worry about obsessing over m/c and ectopic etc - it's a pregnant hormonal woman's prerogative! And it's quite usual to be left "hanging" for quite a while until you hit the scan/test stage - so feel free to chat here until it comes up!

Myfairone · 05/12/2006 15:43

Thank you Miaou. Reading this site has already put me at ease. I seem to be obsessing over stuff! Not like me at all! I guess I just need to relax and enjoy it (sits back in her chair and eats yet another ginger biscuit!!!!) lol...

typhoonsmum · 05/12/2006 17:11

Hi myfairone. Welcome to our little thread (it not that little anymore.) You'll find lots of people going thru the same things as you and you get a great deal of support from them. It is a life line. (And quite addicitive)

Re Jelly Tots, my local supermarket are doing the special tubes for christmas, they are HUGE and full of tots. Worth checking out for all you JT addicts.

earthtomummy · 05/12/2006 19:24

A big tube of fruit pastilles would be good. Maybe J. Tots..Found out today I can get free acupuncture as a MW at my local hospital runs a clinic there. So although my SPD has re-emerged feeling q. positive about nipping it in the bud. Was also interested in those of you feeling movements etc. I'm getting def. flutterings. It is my 4th, but with no.3 I didn;'t till about 14 wks. Could be wind, but that's so bad there's a diff. at the mo!!

giulia68 · 05/12/2006 19:44

hi myfairone, evening everyone... has anyone covered constipation here yet? my uniquely 'refined white carbs' diet may have something to do with it but what can i do? i can't possibly eat vegetables because i'll be sick. thoughts? suggestions? i am drinking tons of water.

justbeme · 05/12/2006 19:51

Cant help you on the constipation front Guilia! - But What about All bran type cereal?
Ive been thinking about my "flutterings" - ive got a fibroid which is 5cm round towards the back wall of the uterus, so maybe "baby" is pushed towards my front wall more - and thats why i can feel it? (also this is my 6th pregnancy)
Just told "MIL" tonight - gave her scan picture, she didnt kow what it was - so my Bf said "its something in J's stomach" (what else could it have been but a baby?) - she still didnt get it and handed the scan back - so then we TOLD her and she said "really?" and that was that and then 20 seconds later she wanted to know what the weather forecast was on the TV.... - hence why im sitting in the study on here and shes in the other room.!!!!

giulia68 · 05/12/2006 19:56

justbeme - MIL story made me chuckle... all bran - yeeuch. i don't think i could manage it.
great you have a scan photo though - how thrilling. x

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 20:00

Oooh stop talking about food. Ive not been able to get hold of any Cadburys Snaps today and the bloomin adverts been on all night.

dorisofdevon · 05/12/2006 20:08

Hi ladies, justbeme lol at your MIL guessing she was slightly floored, my Gran just said "Oh dear" when I told her about DD ( I was an unmarried harlot)

Saw mw today really nice but wants me to have consultant led care due to complications following birth last time.

Still feeling rough with the ms was planning a relaxing night tonight but just agreed to have carpets fitted in 3 rooms tomorrow including our spare room which id floor to ceiling with junk so will jhave to spend this evening organising dh ( neeeded it doing before chritmas as currently finishing renovations and have no carpets (or lights or curtains)

Anyway welcome to myfairone be prepared for the addition to start!!!

dorisofdevon · 05/12/2006 20:10

should reread my posts addiction!!!!

keiralou · 05/12/2006 20:36

Justbeme - v funny story about mil - typical huh, you just want to scream it out and let everyonr feel the way you do and bloody mil is more interested in the weather! On the addiction to food front am trying to be really healthy - not working as well as it did first time round. Also mince pies are in season in our house mmmmm!!

Still no word about any appointments - am due 18th July - just want a date
Good luck to you if you have anything coming up!!

wethreebodkinsoforientare · 05/12/2006 20:52

Evenin' all. Hi Myfairone, glad to hear you have found the likeminded bunch of hormonal worriers!!!!

God, really should be working now, but its so easy to procrastinate on MN.

DP was grappling my rump last night and commented "Cor, you've got some timber on you now haven't you" I was not impressed as you can imagine, so retorted that his breath smelt of rotten tooth. Don't think he'll be commenting on my ever increasing carcass again.... He booked a dentist appointment today.

BTW Liesel, what are snaps? I am intrigued... I don't watch much telly so they have passed me by.

LickleRach · 05/12/2006 21:08

Hello all Mums to be, I've not been on for a while as never really knew when babe was due as dates were weird. I joined July thread thinking poss end of July for my little one. Had dating scan today and have been told 27th June!! DH v.excited at seeing little one on screen doing acrobatics! So, I am in wrong group!!! Good luck to you all for July and take care!

beartime · 05/12/2006 21:15

3flights - given the choice of London or Scotland how could you wonder! I would so love to go to Scotland, and would so hate to live in London (no offence to the smog dwellers )

Typhoonsmum at BMI of 21 - before ds I was 20, now only just 25 and healthy.

hi Myfairone! i think worry is the main symptom of pregnancy

Earlyriser - just polished off a whole jelly tot tube today

guila - I hear the best thing for constipation is to hold your nose and drink hot prune juice first thing in the morning (yuck). I have found prunes the best and though I hate them I force them down somehow. Failing that raisins have almost as much fibre I think, and I might try four plums instead of four prunes and see if that does it! Also Sultana Bran Cereal is good if you can stomach it.

Justbeme - wow at your MIL conversation. Is she not interested or does she not really want you to have a baby?

Don't you remember that AWFUL fibogel adverts where the young girl heavily pregnant is at her mums and says something to the effect of mmm and it's safe for me? I could do with some of that, tastes OK!

Tastes horrid (I am told) like orange flavoured sandy water, and if you let it stand it solidifies.

A glass of hot water with lemon in does it for me.
