Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Anyone else still knocked sideways by morning sickness? I am soooo peed off with it today . I can't wait for it to end.

pookey · 03/12/2006 22:31

Hi all

My ms has pretty much disappeared since I stopped breastfeeding ds, which is good but obv I feel even less preg now so thats a disadvantage also my much needed weight loss has stopped Also i was really pinning my hopes on the old wives tale that bad morning sickness a girl DS had a really bad vomiting bug last night and I have felt shattered and ended up being really snappy with dp, he is of the opinion that we (our family) are all tired so i should stop moaning!

Chooster · 04/12/2006 09:20

Hi everyone - I know MS is awful isn't it. I can't wait for this stage to end. I had a good day on saturday mainly because I just ate constantly, but then felt bad again yesterday. I can't go on eating as much as I am because I'll end up massive and besides, I'm really forcing myself cos I just don't fancy anything... May give jelly tots a go though

typhoonsmum · 04/12/2006 10:34

Went to Trafford Centre on Saturday. Was ready for bed at 2pm. Got home and slept for an hour. DD was very good and just played quitely and put a blanket over me.
Yesterday napped on and off between 11am and 3pm. Still fell asleep at 11pm that evening.
Feel hungry all the time but everytime I get food I feel sick and go off it. Then chuck it out and want something else to do the same thing all over again.
The joys of early pregnancy

Morning all. Nowt much to offer but wanted to test drive my new festive name.

Can I also just add that I nearly bawled my eyes out at School of Rock last night!!!! Bloody hilarious too though.

Cakehead · 04/12/2006 13:26

Hi there, just wanted to drop by after a manic weekend (with no naps - grrr!). I think my MS may be calming down... Evenings and afternoons not quite so grim as a they were a few weeks ago. I think I must be 10 weeks now, so hopefully I'm turning a corner.
But I still want some jelly tots...

Cyee · 04/12/2006 13:49

Hi all - sounds like many of us are in the same boat. Yuck ms and really tired. Boobs are absolutely killing.

I have got my scan this Thursday (at just under ten weeks!). I'm really pleased because I wanted to have it before Christmas as we're hoping to tell the family then... all being well of course.

Cakehead I seriously hope I turn a corner at 10 weeks - I have just had enough of this now. I have total respect for you ladies who have other children to look after as well. You are legends.

On the mulled wine front - I too am HUGE fan. I ordered some no alcohol wine from a site called LoNo. The Cava is great, as is the rose - but wondering if maybe the red could be fashioned into something approaching mulled wine? I know it won't be the same....

Take care everyone

dewmeadow · 04/12/2006 18:45

also cried at school of rock!!!!!!!!

also in middle of needed weight loss after last baby - ah well! Trying to be good but craving toast, crisps, oven chips, and savoury stuff. And too tired to exercise.

no scan app here either, but its quite laidback here - not expecting it until well after xmas.

justbeme · 04/12/2006 18:59

any one else started to feel "bubbles" of movement?
I know with your 1st its normally at about 14 weeks, but for subsequnt pregnancies , ive been reading other sites and other mums to be have confirmed what i'd been feeling!
what do you all think?

beartime · 04/12/2006 19:31

I've felt stuff but I think its wind!

Oh REALLY interesting article for anyone like me who is obsessed about not miscarrying here
Its a news report in sky news and says its about underweight women miscarrying more, but also has interesting research such as women who eat fruit and veg in early pregnancy halve their risk of miscarrying as do those who take a multivitamin - and the best bit - chocolate helps! I went and bought some chocolate buttons today to help

earlyriser · 04/12/2006 19:50

Hi all and welcome newcomers. I had my midwife appointment today, same mw as last time so that was good and she remembered lots of my info which was a bit spooky. No date for a scan but should be another 4 weeks. I'm shattered tho as my dd has a rotten cold (not been right since her PCV last wed) and has woken up 3 nights in a row. She was awake for 2 hours last night and soooo grumpy today, i literally had to carry her everywhere with me. So i'll be heading to bed early tonight. Hope all your ms dissappears soon, you got me craving jelly tots now too!

Cakehead · 04/12/2006 20:29

Ooh earlyriser, I feel for you. DD had PCV in October and it was a bit grim. I've got to book MMR pre-Christmas and am trying to schedule it so the side-effects hit after Boxing Day... Some hope.
Still, DH has volunteered to cook Christmas lunch for 10, so I'm going to put my feet up. (Haven't yet told him about turning the corner in my MS thing. Think I might hold off until after New Year, just to be safe...

dorisofdevon · 04/12/2006 20:52

Hi all , ms and exhuaustion still running riot in Devon, went back to the Doc's today and have been signed off for another week, thank god

Bit of a pragnancy brain nightmare of a day couldn't get onto the base as car tax out of date (opps) then trying to renew at post office took renewL form for other car that dh did last month grrrrrrr

Most p'd off !!!!! had to go home and go back as need to go back onto base in the morning for 1st mw appt, along the jelly tots line have been eating fizzy sour sweets hey ho whatever it takes

night night all am off to bed

giulia68 · 04/12/2006 20:53

abgirl thanks for the chart last friday.
cakehead glad you are feeling better. i am feeling absolutely grim and exactly the same as i did with ds. smells sending me running away in the other direction and my stomach heaving. still. good really. what is PCV by the way? and beartime that was an interesting piece - thanks for that.

swift1 · 04/12/2006 20:59

Justbeme im so jealous, our edd is the same amd i havent felt anything yet, except sick

JennStarOfWonder · 04/12/2006 22:25

I thought you got to feel the baby 2nd time at around 14 weeks. I didn't feel dd until I was 23 weeks, although apparently you can from 17.

JennStarOfWonder · 04/12/2006 22:26

That advert is BRILLIANT!

JennStarOfWonder · 04/12/2006 23:01

Sorry wrong thread the advert's here

3flightsofstairs · 04/12/2006 23:32

Now that the in-laws have gone, I can catch up! This thread is great! Altho inlaws have been fab as DS has his 1st molar coming through and is seriously unhappy (awake this morning singing songs at 4am for 2 hours...) and they have taken him out loads and let me nap. I find it really difficult letting him cry for 5 mins when they're here as they ask if they can pick him up and generally make me feel like I'm not parenting *right.

Same thing with the PCV cakehead and earlyriser (pneumococcal meningitis vaccine - didn't do the spelling myself - new one being trialled for under 1s - but not in all areas, I think. Am I right?) for us - the only jab that DS has reacted to. Have you an appt for MMR yet? DS just 12months, but I think it should be now-ish. And yes, still bf and no sore boobs but only twice a day.

I'm wth you on the energy levels! Can't wait to regain some. Would love to do some exercise (my bottom is spreading into the shape of the sofa as I sit on it). Only doing the stairs and they're unavoidable!

We're waiting until we get our test results before we start looking for a new house - 2 weeks+ to go. 3 flights of stairs and 2 under 2s won't work for me Then we've only to decide if we go back to Scotland or stay in London Any thoughts?

Abgirl, fab list! We've been brought forward to 29th June (but I think I'm allowed to stay in July )

3flightsofstairs · 04/12/2006 23:46

just watched the irn-bru ad and got all homesick! Darn hormones

Dophus · 05/12/2006 08:49

For those of you with MS there is lgiht at the end of the tunnel. I'm 10.5 weeks and the sickness is beginning to subside (touchwood). The fatigue is just as bad - not helped by DS who is horrid at the moment waking every night and ifficult to resettle. I then can't get back to sleep. I am exhausted having not had more than abotu 5 hour sleep a ngiht for the four days. On top of the usual fatgiue I'm an emotional and physical wreck.

Who mentioned bloody jelly tots - I visited all three shops in our village last night: not one had jelly tots! I was almost in tears. the fruit pastilles just weren't the same!

I swear I'm also feeling 'bubbly', I maybe wind but I wouldn't normally feel wind this low in my pelvis. It's the same sensation that I assoicated with movement at about 17 weeks first time round.

typhoonsmum · 05/12/2006 09:23

It's ok. I'm not underweight. My BMI is 21. I thought if your bmi was under 18.5 you would have difficultly getting pregnant anyway. That is way too slim. (no offense to anyone with a bmi under 18.5)
Good article tho. Very informative. Off to buy some fruit.

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 09:35

3Flights of stairs - sounds like you are homesick maybe just homornal or maybe you need to come back. I dont know your situation and I have never lived anywhere else but Scotland.
BTW everyone - arent Snaps the best invention???? YUMMMM
In fact I am the marketing execs dream cause I see M&S advertising those mince pies and off I pop to buy 5 dozen.
