Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Welcome to all the new ones.

firststar I sent off the form when I went to the GP so that was last Wednesday and I got it yesterday. So about a week.

Might get the full works done at the dentist while I can.

MS is seriously kicking in. First thing in the morning I feel hungover (not touched alcohol since found out so it isn't fair) and then it comes back at tea time when i am starving.

Anyway I'm off the the Trafford Centre tomorrow (big shopping centre in Manchester if no-one has heard off it. Absolutely gorgeous at xmas. dd will love it) with DD and best friend for a bit of retail therapy. (Just had to pay visa card an offensive amount so can't spend to much)

littlepiggie · 01/12/2006 19:36

Had first midwife appointment, given the 13th july as edd.
Have a scan booked om the 4th jan, cant wait, i might actualy believe it then.

Midwife suggested that it might be worth me thinking about a home birth, dew to the fact that it is likely to be fast, and i have a back problem, so could get more comforable at home. With ds i was in labour for 5 hours then pushed for an hour, so quite fast for a first baby.

Groveregg · 01/12/2006 20:20

Wow that is quick littlepiggie, I was in early labour for 5 days before anything really happened! Hoping it will be a lot quicker this time. I am becoming convinced that a home birth is the way to go if possible so that ds doesn't have too much upheaval as in having to stay overnight somewhere else etc. Do they have an age limit for home births? Dh keeps telling me I might be too old at 39, very flattering.

Still severely irritable and hormonal, does anyone else feel like strangling almost everyone they come into contact with?!

Miaou · 01/12/2006 20:32

Hello everyone

Have not kept up with this thread at all! Welcome to all the newbies

I am still suffering with morning sickness, but now only being sick about twice a day (down from half a dozen!) - so hopefully I am past the worst!

I have been referred to the midwife by the GP nearly two weeks ago but haven't heard from her yet. I am going to leave it another week then perhaps give her a call. I'm not sure if I would be offered nuchal scans etc - not that I want to take them - but I would like to be seen by January I think. This pregnancy is running 23 months behind my previous one and I didn't see a midwife until the end of January then, which was ok by me, but I knew they knew about me - not sure the message has got through yet though!

Hope everyone is looking forward to Christmas (booze-free, sadly, not that I feel like drinking at the mo!)

abgirl · 01/12/2006 21:32

Hi everyone

Well have finally got back from conference in Coventry after spending an hour and a quarter going 13 miles on the M25 ...I was not amused!!

Just going to update the weekly list and will then post it!

littlepiggie · 01/12/2006 21:54

Is anybody still bf?
It is starting to get painful when ds latches on, please tell me this passes!

abgirl · 01/12/2006 21:59

Have taken the info off the stats thread so please let me know if there are any updates etc. Newbies please post your details on the stats thread and I'll make sure they're included in next week.

Bodkin (and the others with non 28 day ovulation cycles), I?m afraid I got totally confused about whether I should be changing your EDD or number of weeks gone, so please could you put on a message showing exactly what you think it should be (baby brain is obviously getting to me!!!)

Abgirl, that's brilliant! Havent you got enough to do with your meetings etc, you must be nackered!! Don't know where you find the time or energy! Well done!

Hope everyones been well,im glad everyones scan went well, good luck to those who have one next week! I still havent heard anything from mw,gp asked for urgent apphow soon is urgent(that was 2 weeks ago)but i guess at 5 weeks 4 days its still too early to see anything in the scan(i think) well hope you are all well and welcome to all the newbies! Hope you all have a nice weekend!

beartime · 01/12/2006 22:18

Whoever it was that said 8wks is 3% risk of miscarriage - I would love to know what the later weeks are too so i can rejoice as each week goes by if it gets less - however if it doesn't get less maybe I don't want to know...

Wow that's great that you had a good scan justbeme!

Groveregg - I sympathise with the strangling thing - not gone quite that far yet, but have thought up rude comments to some people who were annoying me which isn't like me at all

Littlepiggie just stopped bfing today. However I hear that the soreness only lasts up to the end of the first trimester then goes. Also my boobs haven't been pregnancy sore at all, but now that I've stopped they have immediately started getting sore - so you might want to toss up - sore when feeding or sore the whole time...?! I stopped because my milk supply went right down - he was popping on and off and then I gave him a cup of milk afterwards and he downed the lot! Plus he bit me i think due to the frustration of no milk coming out he was trying something new!

Have scan date now - 21st december.

JennStarOfWonder · 01/12/2006 22:39

Just feeding morning and night littlepiggie. Not too sore feeding but uncomfortable let down in other breast. DD has been biting but only when she isn't latched on properly and I haven't noticed.

dewmeadow · 02/12/2006 09:09

Groveregg - I could totally kill someone - I feel like a banshee atm

Kyte - I'm glad you're comforted by your mum's story - I had the same in my first pregnancy with spotting and then an OK pregnancy. But still good to rest and make sure of it like you're doing - and good excuse to get out of the horrible jobs like taking out the rubbish, raking leaves etc.!

Wow it's quiet on here today - i can only think that you lot must be really bored at work and run off your feet at home if there is so much chat when you're all at work and nothing when you're at home!

JennStarOfWonder · 02/12/2006 21:53

Beartime, nobody touched my stomach first time, it was the dirty look that my old gent customers gave me 'I know what you've been doing!' cringe.

bubble78 · 03/12/2006 11:30

so will any of you ladies be having your babies at Lancaster Royal Hospital ??

cazzybabs · 03/12/2006 12:20

(a complete aside but the low winter sun is streaming in through my window and making it impossible to read my monitor but I am too tired/lazy to get up and close the curtains - ahhhh).

Have found another reason for not having a july baby - mulled wine...I love mulled wine... i am craving mulled wine - ahhhhh roll on Christmas 2007! Still having no symptons - excpet needing a ten minute capnap about 8.30 which then means I cannot sleep later on in the evening. So I am waiting to find out I am not really pregnant at all infact my only symptons are lack of AF and a BFP. Do you think this means it is another girl...dh will be disappointed.

Bodkin · 03/12/2006 16:03

Groveregg - I'll join you on the hormonal and irritable one. I keep catching DP giving me looks of "Oh god, here we go again" , even when I thought I wasn't being horrid at all!!! Poor little DD bore the brunt of it today when she shut the door in my face (her favourite trick at the moment) We'd all been up since 5.30am cos of the storms, so I think making sure I get plenty of kip may be essential in warding off hysterical outbursts!!!

ABgirl - good work on the league table. Have appointment with Doc this week so will update it when I've seen her - I'm sure she'll put me straight!

JennStarOfWonder · 03/12/2006 17:28

Hi Folks. I have been napping for England, but then having trouble sleeping at night. DD has d & v and so breastfeeding for England and has a sticky eye.

Have my booking appointment on Wednesday and my scan the Wednesday after. Does anybody know if a scan at nearly 10 weeks needs to be intravaginally or can they do it externally? Maybe they are doing it early because I have no real way of knowing exactly how pregnant I am.

beartime · 03/12/2006 19:33

They can do a 10wk externally cos last pregnancy I had scans at 5wks and 7wks due to bleeding. the 5 wk had to be done vaginally and even then no heartbeat detected yet as it was too small, but the 7wk one was fine to do externally unless my memory deceives me. That's nice that you're having it early mine's at 13wks.

Oh by the way found a new remedy for MS - jelly tots! maybe cos of the blood sugar levels I don't know, but it seemed to totally get rid of the nausea each time I tried it . So DH got me three packs to last me, and have eaten them all already!

Tallysmummy · 03/12/2006 20:46

Im napping for England too!!!!!! Left DP cooking dinner and looking after DD.

keiralou · 03/12/2006 21:15

Am also totally knackered the whole time - dh thinks its an excuse for not doing anyhting but then he always thinks I'm lazy lol. Still no date for scan - should be getting two done - one for nuchal and one normal as they need to be done at different hospitals. Just really want to know!!! anyone else in the same boat?
