Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Hello all you windy pops, I too am the same. Hope everybodys scans and appts go well. I still don't have appt as moving on 1st dec, so will get new gp, book with midwives and hopefully get appt for scan before xmas. Is that being too optomistic ??

Beartime, last time I was pg, went to New York at 15/40 and wiped out Old Navy, and lived in those clothes. They were great. Going again in Feb, so will do the same as last time was a winter preg and this time will be summer, good excuse for new things.

TM, good luck with appt, no reassurance really helps, you just have to bite the bullet.

P.s hello to all new people.

Chooster · 20/11/2006 21:27

Hello there everyone

Sorry your M/W appt was a disappointment Kyte, but good you spoke up and made them take some notes. I've got my booking in appt on thursday, same as typhoonsmum.

Doris - I can empathise with telling DH pregnancy news in an unladylike way. I am total rubbish at it and just try to drop enough hints that he guesses. I do the same with my mum

hey beartime - a fellow Old Navy fan!!! We've been to the states quite a bit recently and I always get stuff there - dead cheap and well made. The kids clothes are great too.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

dewmeadow · 20/11/2006 21:29

My god but this thread has taken off!! Lots of July babies - yeah!

I am so glad that there are other windy pregnant people out there. I could run our lights off my windpower!! Also had aches and crampy pains, but i think they are related to the wind and toilet motions (sorry tmi!)

Also - can anyone else suddenly not type?? And my memory has gone total preghead.

No appointments yet, but Im going to leave a sample into the surgery tomorrow and then see a doctor at the end of the week or so. You dont get a scan here until the 14th week.

giulia68 · 20/11/2006 21:34

Hi there - I found out I am pregnant this morning - and as a long term lurker wonder if I am now eligible to join a thread? I am due on the 30th July... not quite sure where to go! Congratulations on all your BFPs and hoping to be chatting soon.

LickleRach · 20/11/2006 21:39

TopShop have a great website with a fashionable maternity section and pretty reasonable prices too. Getting quite excited, although not showing yet....keep looking at tummy in the hope it will be bigger! Got 1st mw app on 1st Dec. Not sure what to expect now having read some of the thread. what should they do at the 1st one??? Still not had a scan, no one knows when baby is due although doc reckons (after a bit of harsh prodding) 'July sometime' which was helpful!

Cakehead · 20/11/2006 21:55

Yup, Topshop is great and the Oxford St branch in London has a big section in store for maternity wear, if you happen to be London-based. I'm always worried I'll get spotted by a colleague lurking there!
My tummy's got a proper little bump already. I think I must be 8 weeks plus now, and it's No 2, so I think it all hangs out more second time around. DH delighted by new cleavage too! (mine, not his!)

LickleRach · 20/11/2006 22:04

Thats the thing isn't it, I'm always looking over my shoulder when I am checking out anything Mum related in case I'm spotted! Not told anyone yet except DH and I guess everyone on MN, so many friends have had miscarriages that I don't want to say anything until after 1st scan I think....when did you tell people with your first Cakehead?

typhoonsmum · 21/11/2006 07:33

It's not my booking in on thursday I'm just going to see the GP to get referred to the ante natal clinic. I'll be a gibbering wreck by the time of the actual booking in appointment

Chooster · 21/11/2006 10:32

Typhoonsmum - My appt is actually the same as your's, i,e seeing GP to get referred to hospital. I called it booking in, but it wont be... I dont want them registering me for NHS cards etc, until I know the little one is here to stay.

dewmeadow · 21/11/2006 11:18

LIckle - Im the same as you - only telling DH and the whole of MN!! But Im wary too for fear of losing it. I had a miss between my two and it made me afraid throughout my whole last pregnancy. I suppose then the fear of something happening to our babies continues throughout life so why should pregnancy be any different?

Hi to all!

Cyee · 21/11/2006 13:45

Afternoon all - thanks for all the mat clothes tips, and I'm glad to know my mw experience wasn't so atypical.

DorisofDevon - if you let yourself be sick do you feel better for the rest of the day? Today was first day I have been well and truly rough (you experienced mums must have been chuckling at my earlier belief I had conquered ms with nothing more than a bit of hot water!!!). I eventually succumbed to the loo and have felt better since. Would be good to know if being sick is the secret, as I'm trying to work out whether I can manage ms around work - and delay letting my manager know. The last two days have been no nos.

Hope many of you are feeling better than I am

Cyee · 21/11/2006 14:13

... and hello and welcome Giuila68! Can't believe you're due end of July - this thread is going so fast

cazzybabs · 21/11/2006 14:20

I have told our parents and dh clearly and various people on here and a friend at work who is due in May!

But god I suspect people will guess - I am soo tired at the mo - its the afternoon it really hits me! And theyknow how broody I am!

Yup - I could do with some sleep too. That said, I fell asleep on the sofa last night and missed ds squawking. Dh dosed him up with Calpol and he slept through for the first night in a couple of weeks! Feel much better today, albeit not great.

About to go make myself a cup of tea with lots of sugar to get through the rest of the afternoon!

jennster · 21/11/2006 17:05

at nap here too. Have been waiting for courier to collect a breastfeeding chair from Mothercare (long story but sciatica has something to do with it) It's my last day off before I go back to work and I've had a horrible week of being woken at night for feeds dd dropped ages ago! I normally have a nap in the afternoon and am knackered. I haven't been at work yet knowing I'm pregnant....

OOOOh not looking forward to tomorrow. They are sure to guess, I was stupidly discussing with them the other day how they would know I was pregnant by doing the silly things I did last time.

Absolutely shattered this afternoon. Only feeling mild nausea and the occasional retch but didn't get much more than that when Pg with DD. I am only four weeks. Today is the day my period should have arrived so that is one milestone done. Now just waiting till 5 weeks ( last time I bled then)
PG tests not getting much darker but i don't think they can get much darker. I think I am finally accepting it.

Cakehead · 21/11/2006 19:06

LickleRach, I was good at keeping quiet with DD first time around - just immediate family and DH, obviously. Last time, we found out Christmas Eve and I was cooking for 12 the next day. I had to tell them - parents, sisters, etc - as they'd have guessed why I was suddenly laying off the booze and pate. I've been a bit more open this time, mainly because most of my friends new we were trying for No.2, and once they've come over and spotted me not touching the wine, they've rumbled me anyway. I think I'm 8 weeks plus, and I guess if anything went wrong now, I'd probably have told them about it anyway. DH has had to tell work, because he's a firefighter and it's really hard to book holiday and I'm MAKING him take a fortnight next July, so hopefully, combined with paternity leave, we get the whole month... That's the plan, anyway.

emmyb · 21/11/2006 19:18

Ok now Im confused. Just been catching up with todays news and I dont know the difference between a visit to the gp to tell him Im preggers and a booking in appt. It is baby no 2 but seem to forgotten everything from last time. Im also having trouble typing dewmeadow and my brain is definately not working as swiftly as usual!

littlepiggie · 21/11/2006 19:18

emmyb · 21/11/2006 19:20

giulia68 · 21/11/2006 19:23
