Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Hi everyone, I've been on the ginger today too, yuk. Lol Chooster at getting a digital test, it's funny but it was only when I did the digital one last night that my dh really believed me!

Told 2 friends today (when they started pouring me a wine at lunchtime!) and it started feeling a bit surreal. Still trying to get my head round it all. Sorry if tmi but we only had sex twice this month!!!

jennster · 16/11/2006 19:59

Double snap firsttimer. Same EDD and reason for vagueness. Seing midwife tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

God am completely knackered now. Not sure how much it costs to send 3 binliners full. A lot I would imagine. Live in S. Yorks if you want to collect.
Will change details so can be contacted by email, but haven't done yet...need to lie down after this.

jennster · 16/11/2006 20:13

Blimey Fizzbuzz how long were you pregnant for? I survived a third of that! Am interested in cropped mothercare trousers. Do you want to get rid of the lot in one go?

earthtomummy · 16/11/2006 20:17

Hi all. Saw my midwife today who was also my m/w for my last pg. Anyway, I'm going for a homebirth and the midwife team here have a birthing pool they can bring so good news all round. Last time I had a hospital water birth. We are about 25 - 30 miles from the hospital so I have some worries about what would happen in an emergency, but my other deliveries were all really straightforward so hopefully it woun't come to that. Suddenly it all seems so real, with seeingf the m/w and feeling sick and v.v.v.v.v. tired. Keep going to bed at 8.30pm. Poor DH...We are suposed to be going to watch the Bond film next wk. Let's hope Daniel Craig has enough to offer to keep me awake!

fizzbuzz · 16/11/2006 20:40

mmmmm.....have degree in fashion, love love clothes. After I read it I realised there were an awful lot.... (cringe)
Don't nescessarily want to get rid of all lot in one go, as I feel this may require a large lorry.
Contact me via MN and they are yours.

jennster · 16/11/2006 20:50

In that case they are sure to be trendier than anything I managed to wear.

fizzbuzz · 16/11/2006 21:21

Can maternity clothes be trendy? I never found any despite my best efforts, hence huge quantity of clothes. Trial and error you see.

jennster · 16/11/2006 21:36

I lived in over baggy XL Next overbump jeans that were still too short in the leg. Their under bump jeans gave me arse cleavage to be proud of (so got sent back), and all their tops were too short, despite me having a TINY bump.

cazzybabs · 16/11/2006 21:53

Blimey some of you have midwives already...god I haven't even been to the doctors yet. might go at Xmas sometime when I have some time. I am still bitter about having a July baby - ahh well when it is a bit thick it can blame me for having sex at the wrong time!!!

jennster · 16/11/2006 23:10

Didn't see a doctor at all last time and don't expect to this time. You get chucked at the over worked community midwives round here. Only going so early because I'm off work this week, and work Fridays the day the midwife visits my surgery. I'm going to ATTEMPT to keep it quiet at work this time.

dorisofdevon · 16/11/2006 23:26

Love the sound of your clothes fizzbuzz, going to have another look tomorrow when i'm more awake then might try and cat you ( know the lingo just not sure on the process) Still you never know till you try....but that's another story altogether!!!!
night night all it's time for bed

Cakehead · 17/11/2006 09:18

Morning, everyone. How are we today? I'm working at home today (as you can tell...). Have friends coming over tonight for a curry and have no idea whether I'll be able to eat it or not. DH has said he'll get whatever I fancy but it's going to look a bit odd if I suddenly go all green at the prospect of tikka massala.

earlyriser · 17/11/2006 09:29

cazzybabs, why so bitter about july baby? how does the school system work in England? In Scotland the intake is from feb-feb and if your child is born from nov-feb you get to choose whether they go to school age 4 going on 5, or 5 going on 6, is it different down there?

Cakehead · 17/11/2006 09:46

Yes, earlyriser - is different here. Intake is from 1st September, so summer babies are at a slight disadvantage. My DD, born end of August, will be almost a year younger than other children in her class, when she starts in a few years. That said, I'm a July babe myself and I was a bit of swot at school, went to Uni, have supposed 'good' job and never felt at any disadvanage. My neighbour is a headmistress and she says it all evens out in the first few years anyway.

I'm in South London and until this year, summer babies went to school in the January after the main intake in September, so they got an extra 4 months at home. But that's just been stopped as 'too confusing'...

Cakehead · 17/11/2006 09:47

And I think summer babies are just lovely - happy, sunny natures!

dewmeadow · 17/11/2006 09:52

cazzy, in N Ireland, the cutoff is June 30, so our July babies will be old for their year here. As a teacher I ve found that not all young for their year children fall behind or struggle. And sometimes an older child might be at the bottom - just depends on innate ability I think.

Whoever was talking about Next Maternity clothes - I found that as well with teh tops - they were ALL too short, but I had a massive baby (he was 10.2) V encouraging to hear that someone with a small bump found that as well - I just felt like a fat b**tard!

Chooster · 17/11/2006 10:11

Morning! Earlyriser - I think things are more flexible in Scotland regarding when little One's can start school. Cazzybabs, I reckon it depends on the personality more than age as some 5 year olds can behave younger and some 4 year olds can seem really mature!

Has anyone ever had some pregnancies with morning sickness and some without. I've been PG 3 times and all those times had morning sickness, the last time pretty bad - i.e throwing up about 4 times a day... but this time I only get a little bit of nausea when I'm really hungry and thats it! Am very tired though from about 8pm onwards...

I know they say every pregnancy is different (and my other pregnancies were boys) but I kind of thought people either got morning sickness or they didn't. I'm worrying a bit about the fact that people say morning sickness = a good strong pregnancy.

Sorry for rambling on... Anyone had something similar?

Chooster · 17/11/2006 10:14

Mmmmmm, cakes being sold at my work for Children in Need - Well, I'd better go and buy one to keep that nausea at bay

Hello, firststar, congratulations and welcome! Fingers crossed that this is a "sticky" one

Chooster, some people have m/s in some pregnancies and not in others - there's no correlation between m/s and strong pregnancy, or m/s and gender of baby - if you do a search on pregnancy section of the site you will find they are questions that have been asked before and the common conclusion is that it makes no difference . Hard not to worry/wonder about it though, I know!

I'm on my fourth pg and have had m/s start earlier and last longer with each successive pg; however though I suffered constant nausea with ds (my third) it wasn't as bad overall as it was with dd2 (my second). I find the first trimester by far the worst part of the pregnancy, despite being the size of a house towards the end with ds I didn't suffer heartburn, indigestion, difficulty sleeping ... I know, I know, lucky sod wasn't I?

swift1 · 17/11/2006 10:53
