Squatting Hannah is lovely Smile Not a very heard-of name now for babies, so that will be nice.
I've looked on the baby names section on here quite a few times, and I must say a lot of people are with me in thinking 'Boys names are hard'! But I can't quite believe how incredibly fussy I actually have been with the choosing. I'd say I dislike 90% of boys names Confused Have no idea why. I think with a girls name you can be more adventurous but if you're adventurous with a boys name you slightly run the risk of it sounding a bit "chavvy". I don't know it could just be me being overly picky Confused
My favourite name, Freddie,is considered "popular" and overused according to some of the threads on there, which I was surprised at because it's not popular round here at all! It must be regional thing!

smogsville · 24/02/2015 20:42

RL I do 'maternally fit' which runs in various locations mainly across SW London. It's ultra convenient as it's at 630pm on one of my two days in the office and the class I go to is virtually opposite work. They're run by physios so all the exercises are safe for us preggos. Lots of silver ball work but it's proper cardio not namby pamby breathing in and out nonsense.

I'm finding it bloody knackering now but I've bought a block of ten classes and they're rather expensive so I'm going to use them up.

I quite like Freddie but I have an uncle Freddie and he's an alcoholic ass so it taints the name for me. Hmm

RL20 · 24/02/2015 20:55

Smog that sounds good! In awe of anyone who's up for proper exercise in pregnancy. I'm currently proud of myself for managing to walk around at work for a few hours! As my job requires me to be on my feet. Come to think of it, I drive everywhere I go Confused So when baby is here I'll definitely try to do more walking, which I think you tend to do anyway when you have a baby don't you, with having a pushchair and all.

Squatting I only personally know of two Freddie's near me, both around 5/6 years old at a guess. Really really hoping my partner changes his mind Sad There are others that I find 'ok' but in my mind I've already attached the name Freddie to my bump, silly I know and it's my fault.

Sorry Lauren I completely missed your first post! Good tactics! Lol. I really don't feel like were going to agree on a name, and whilst he's not making any suggestions, what can I do?!
Oh dear I see what you mean, that would taint it for me too, ha ha! I've got a habit of linking names with things. Wether it's literally anything from a cartoon character to food. I'm terrible for it so it's amazing I've even come to like one name!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/02/2015 21:00

I'd say definitely get it checked out then TheBooMonster!

Hannah is lovely SquattingNeville!

I agree RL20, boys names are harder. We won't decide until he's here but we have a short list now at least. If we'd been having a girl I had a short list and Dh agreed to all of them. He doesn't like any of my boys names Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 24/02/2015 21:02

Also, my newest mindee who starts in May is called Freddie and he's the cutest little man!

RL20 · 24/02/2015 21:13

Cinnamon it must be a man thing then, with regards to boys names. As when we discussed names a few months ago before we found out the gender, I told him some girls names I loved that I wanted to be in the short list and I don't really remember him having any opinions on them at all and didn't really have a lot to say! Hmm

Wineandchoccy · 24/02/2015 21:25

Happy Birthday banana

We have had antenatal class tonight with the health visitors, it was your baby's development and breast feeding. It was informative without being forced that you must do it.

We have a short list of 2 boys and 2 girls but not discussed it properly for a few weeks. I'm constantly checking tv/film titles and books for ideas though in case I see or hear anything that I haven't thought of.
It's a big decision naming the most important small person in your life. It was much easier when we adopted a cat as he already had a name from the RSPCA Grin

brummagem · 24/02/2015 21:30

Know what you mean on names. We had loads of girls ones however after 3 months of "discussion" we've chosen our first name but I'm not entirely sure if the other half is jesting when he says he wants Tiberius as a middle name!

My bump feels like its already at full capacity and if it grows any more then a full on reenactment of the scene from Aliens will occur. There's still 9 weeks left! I'm also due right at the end of April so will be one of the last on here when you're all postnatal.

Had an achy pubic bone today after school. Not enough to take painkillers but enough to notice and say ouch! It's all gone achy now. Back, bones, head lol.

MoominMama22 · 24/02/2015 21:43

Great news on GD mswibble!

One great thing about being on mat leave is no more unwanted comments from customers about the size of my bump. Wanted to punch a good few people.
A woman at antenatal class today is due a week today and her bump is a lot smaller than mine, in fact its really not much of a bump. We were all looking at it as she said when she was due and I'm so pleased nobody made a comment!! I'm sure she will have heard " oh you're tiny" so many times and who knows how it makes her feel?

39 days to go for me, I think? Wow the last month has gone pretty fast.

brumma I know what you mean about feeling at full capacity ! And still a fair stretch to go.... Pun intended!! Haha

Happy birthday banana

34+3

BrixtonBunny · 24/02/2015 21:53

Happy birthday banana!

We have a name if bump is a girl, but still struggling if it's a boy. We have a name we both like but I think we're both sort of waiting for a better one to hit us!

FiRaffe · 24/02/2015 21:57

Happy Birthday Banana

We were discussing names over dinner -I think we now have one of each. Harriet for a girl and Thomas for a boy. Won't tell anyone in RL but nice to say them out loud!

RL20 · 24/02/2015 21:59

Moomin glad to hear that no one commented on the ladies small bump. I'm 32+1 and look small, even though I'm not petite as such. Normally weigh between 9 1/2 and 10 stone, and am around 5"5/5"6. However I do feel all 'up front' even though bump isn't massive.
I've had comments a lot of the time, (in fact, 9 out of 10 times if bump comes up in conversation). It does make you feel a bit Hmm as it probably does with ladies with big bumps too. I don't know what would even be classed as a 'normal' sized bump anyway! Everyone's different.
It upset me a bit today as a customer (a man) at work who I normally have a quick chat with, seemed to think it was funny to make a joke about him thinking I'm not really pregnant and am just making it up as an excuse to eat more Big Macs?! He them went onto say "you must not have much water in there surely, will probably be an easy birth with a little 4pound baby!" I was so annoyed and luckily was busy whilst he was talking so I just walked off. I don't know whether it was male humour or him just being completely insensitive, or just my hormones but it totally p*ed me right off.
Sorry for the rant!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/02/2015 22:43

I think most people just want to make conversation. It's about perspective as well I've been told I'm huge and tiny within days of each other so my bump hasn't actually changed size.

Got midwife tomorrow, taking 3 kids and Dh with me! He's off for ds1's assembly and I'm hoping he'll walk the dogs in the morning so I can an extra half an hour in bed!

MoominMama22 · 24/02/2015 22:45

I'm annoyed for you RL! Small or big it doesn't matter the comments are uncalled for! I have always measured spot on, except recently I've been measuring a touch small. I'm 5'3", and I've put on a total of 5kg so far.. But I'm apparently "vast" " too many turkey dinners" "about to pop" ( from about 5 months) " oh you've such a long way to go and already so big" "dumpy"
The list goes on and on and on....

There is no right or wrong size to be! Everyone carries it differently

Rant in response to rant, over! Xx

PenguinPoser · 24/02/2015 22:59

Happy birthday banana!

I'm fed up with size of bump comments too. Working with lots of people and members of public invites a lot of questions and comments - I know people are just trying to be nice and make conversation but it can be "wow you look like you're about to pop/are you sure it's only one baby" to "aww your bump is only small" within the space of 10mins so it's purely a matter of personal opinion. My growth scan said baby was perfect size so there!

Have been out for tea with a friend tonight which has been a nice change from lounging around. Tired now though. Was busy at work trying to tie things up before I officially leave on Thursday lunchtime!

Have annual leave tomorrow but a busy day - hospital for bloods, then community midwife, then getting my hair cut! Best get to bed. Night all Smile wishing sleep filled nights for us all!

mswibble · 25/02/2015 01:01

Belated happy birthday banana!

Well isnt this a lovely new symptom to add to my collection ... coughing up/vomiting bile if I lie down. Hmmm, delightful aftertaste too. Is this the start of me only being able to sleep sitting up? I really wish we had the recliner chair in the nursery all set up, that would have been lovely!
I'm soooo tired, but I just cannot sleep with this bile sneaking up my throat ... Bleuurgh!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/02/2015 02:10

I'm up too mswibble, try some antacids?

Perhaps my vomiting yesterday wasn't pregnancy related after all, ds1 has just been sick all over his bed :( we've cleaned everything up, washing machine on the go and Dh has got up and gone downstairs to sit up for a bit as he feels very bloated and unwell. So far ds2 is untouched! I've texted all my mindees offering to take ds1 to my mums tomorrow and hopefully most will still come but Dh has told me off for being harsh sending ds1 away :(

RL20 · 25/02/2015 05:51

Sorry that your both having rubbish nights sleep mswibble and cinnamon. I felt a little bit sicky the other night, I think it's from getting up in the morning feeling relatively 'light', being up and around all day and then once I go to lay down in bed, feeling noticeably heavier, everything just swishes upwards in my body! Does that even make sense?! Blush Sometimes it catches my breath when I first lay down in bed!

Moomin and Penguin I actually can't believe people think it's acceptable to say things like that! Shock Especially when they aren't close friends, that would be slightly different!
People do try to make conversation but I'd rather them just think it or not say anything at all. Not very good conversationalists! Especially when some of them are ladies who have has children, so it makes me worry that something might be wrong. But at each of my midwife appointments he/my belly has been measuring spot on everytime other than 1 time a couple of of months ago when the measurement was 1cm behind but he seems to have caught up now Smile

Anyone else feeling a teeny weeny bit sad to be going on maternity leave soon? My last week this week and I know it is for some of you as well. I do feel ready but I can't help feel a tiny bit guilty?! And will also miss the 'community' feel (don't know if that's the right word!) of being in a workplace with colleagues and customers and stuff. I suppose I'll be back before I know it and won't want to be so I better just get on with it! Grin

Lauren82000 · 25/02/2015 07:08

Fi I love Harriet can I steal it to add to my list? I thought I was pretty set on Erin but Harriet is right up there next to it. I think it goes nicely with DDs name Ophelia. I'll have posh names for my DC Grin

DD delightful child that she is just did a big trump whilst dancing about and turned to check my reaction. Grin

BananaToast · 25/02/2015 07:23

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day Smile

Off to the GP for my 32 week appointment this morning then back to work. RL I'm counting down the days til mat leave but do have a lingering sadness that I'll miss out on everything that happens while I'm away - even though I don't imagine there will be anything too exciting.

Most people comment that I'm small for being 7 months pregnant, but I have been measuring to dates so these comments don't worry me.

skyra13 · 25/02/2015 07:37

Just want to chime in about baby names, I found it really hard to pick a girls name for my bump when we found out she is a girl boys name we already had planned!
Found out that the names we like turned out to be really popular on MN and statistic website, became obsessed wanted a name none else had lol but finally settled on the name Freya it is in the top 20 although I have never meet a Freya but then again We have no friends with kids so what do I know about what's trending in my town :P I settled with Freya in the end and happy with it also bump kicks me when I say it :)
Hannah is a lovely name I like the symmetry of it, Another reason we chose Freya and an A middle name and our surname is a B so her initials FAB lol

FiRaffe · 25/02/2015 07:41

Of course Lauren, steal away!! Erin is lovely too - we have a great brownie with that name at the moment, so wasn't on our list.
Sorry for you ladies having a bad night. I've had that problem all the way through mrswibble although it doesn't tend to wake me...just a lovely treat for the morning. Stupid pregnancy rhinitis!
Off home from our babymoon today, bit sad having to go back to reality, but am sure i'm not going to miss work when i'm on mat leave!!!
