Thanks all for the advice on hypno birthing books etc. Will look into that. I start my antenatal classes next Tuesday for 4 weeks. Really hope it'll be a positive thing and doesn't scare me any more Confused

Has anyone had their Whooping Cough jab yet, and how did it go?
Was booked in to have mine last week on the same day as my midwife appointment, but when I went into the nurses room I asked how or if it would affect my cold (to those of you that can remember me moaning about my terrible cold, it's nearly over now other than the odd cough and having to blow my nose!). She said there's a chance it could possibly make me feel a bit worse and that I could hold off, so I rebooked for this Thursday. I didn't want to make myself feel even worse as it's my last week of work and I can't afford to have sick days off!
I've not really heard many good experiences with the jab, and I'll be working Thursday, Saturday and Sunday so not sure if I've made the right deduction with booking it for Thursday morning!

RL20 · 23/02/2015 16:32

*desicion, not deduction! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 23/02/2015 16:37

Dh took a photo of mine the day my milk came in Wineandchoccy, probably not for public consumption though! I sat in the bath with these gigantic rock hard boobs with milk literally pouring into the water each side of me, attractive!! He looked like his eyes were going to pop out of his head when I got up that day, took until day 5 with ds1 though Sad. Just came in gradually with ds2 and didn't have those massive hard boobs, midwife said one day at a visit that it sounded like I had milk but I hadn't even noticed.

I'd be surprised if you'd gone up 2 sizes around your band MoonminMama22. With larger boobs I'd highly recommend an underwired nursing bra, if they fit well they are fine and keep everything separate. I was a 38G before my milk came in with ds1.

Mine was a bit achy RL20, but she messed it up and I have nerve pain right at the top of that shoulder and I think she must have caught a nerve. I think everyone else was a bit achy but then fine.

BrixtonBunny · 23/02/2015 16:48

RL I was a bit achey in the arm she jabbed me in for a couple of days, and felt a little bit grotty for a few hours, but it was basically fine. Just ask for it to be in the arm you don't sleep on!

OP posts:
daholster · 23/02/2015 16:52

She managed her nap... But she has fallen out!!!! And still asleep... Poor little pickle (sleeping on a huge teddy)

MoominMama22 · 23/02/2015 16:59

I agree Underwire is good for keeping them more separate and I invested in 2 wired proper fitted bras when my boobs grew earlier preg but recently just wore them on work days and have been in more sports bra style nursing ones and just tops with some pathetic support because I hate the restricted under wired feeling. They were 34 back and they feel too tight around so I think I have really have gone up from 32 to 36 Confused My bump seems to begin as soon as my boobs end , iyswim there isn't any flat bit for the band. Its all bump and it doesn't like being squished . I am just a big set of lumps and bumps.

RL I had whooping vaccine and had achey arm and felt pretty fluey and knackered for about 3 days. Can't 100% pinpoint it to that and even if it was I think my reaction is rare. But I do advise you ask nurse to do it on your right arm if you want to lie comfortably on your left side because that was annoying.

BananaToast · 23/02/2015 16:59

RL my arm started aching about 12 hours later for a couple of days, but wasn't too bad and I didn't feel ill at all.

I'm 32 weeks today and don't feel heavily pregnant yet. Pregnant, yes. I got my first pregnancy perk without having a badge point it out to people on Saturday - a lovely lady at the wedding I was at let me skip the queue for the toilets Smile I'm starting to make the odd groany noise when I get up but bump is still manageable. Not sure I'll feel heavily pregnant for a little while yet.

Had the nursery wallpaper put up today - very excited to see it! Also put the cot bed together. Want to get the room finished now but we have so many bits and pieces being stored in there that need sorting out first. All our baby equipment is living in there!

AnniaFausta · 23/02/2015 17:00

RL20, I had my whooping cough jab on Tuesday last week. Only side effects were a sore arm which led to difficult sleeping that night, and possibly a slightly less wriggly baby the next day (but could just have been a quieter day, baby really went for it on Wed and Thurs!).

I'm waiting to do nursing bras/get measured until two weeks before due date, which was Mothercare's recommendation. We'll see how that goes...

smogsville · 23/02/2015 17:15

daholster i once found DD sleeping semi-covered by her duvet, kneeling up against her bed. Glad your DD is napping for you again Grin

smogsville · 23/02/2015 17:23

I'm not complaining or anything but it's no wonder I'm so hungry all the time, this baby does not stop moving. Also the movements are so massive they are actually rocking me a bit from side to side.

Lauren82000 · 23/02/2015 18:08

First day back at work after a week off and it was torture. Not even a heavy day I just wandered about catching up on gossip but I'm so tired and had been all day. Not convinced I slept well last night either as I woke up even more tired than I went to sleep? Got an hour before I have to do bedtime but we are all sat in our jammies already. Wink

TinyTear · 23/02/2015 18:14

Daholster my dd has also fallen out and slept through it... We used to put pillows and blankies by the bed when we first moved her but she is OK now...

Wineandchoccy · 23/02/2015 18:20

How cute is your dd daholster I think I could sleep like that today as well I'm shattered!

RL20 my arm was a bit stiff a few hours after I had the whooping cough vaccine but it was ok the next day.

mswibble · 23/02/2015 18:21

I've got a two pack of Primarni cheapo nursing bras. Not sure if they run small (or if I really have gone up two band sizes ...sob) but they're not bad. Can't remember the exact price, think maybe £7 for 2? I will get fitted around 38-39wks I think, Im going to need some major boulder holder support age methinks unless I want my boobs warming my stretch mark ravaged belly this time next year!

I need to rebook my whooping cough Blush I forgot all about as it was booked so far in advance. I've done exactly what I rant about others doing, wasting appointments with the doc or nurse. Can I blame baby brain Hmm

I can well imagine how bad it would be go back to work after a week off Lauren! I've got every Monday off as AL now until I finish and the thought of going back in tomorrow has me feeling all blue! I had my first nap today too, it got to about 2.30pm and I was in the middle of sorting out the bedroom. Next thing I'm under the duvet catching 40winks! I just totally hit the wall. Roll on 20th March!

RL20 · 23/02/2015 18:34

Glad to hear most of you had ok experiences with the Whooping Cough vaccine!
I'm still dreading it though, I think Confused With it being the unknown and all that.
Just really really don't want to feel too poorly. I didn't even think about being comfortable whilst sleeping on my left (which I always do now), because I was going to ask for it to be in my left arm due to being right handed. Oh dear! Hmm

Hope everyone's had a nice, comfortable bump day!

On the subject of feeling 'heavily pregnant', I must say I probably do more towards the end of the day. I wouldn't say I'm 'massive' yet but with 8 weeks to go, who knows!

No dribbling for me, well at least not that I'm aware of! I've been having leaky boobs more than anything else really. Not terribly leaky and not noticeable to me during the day when wearing a bra but when I'm at home without a bra I do notice!

Nunkie · 23/02/2015 18:46

RL20 my whooping cough was fine - just ached in a pretty minor way for 24 hrs then was a-okay.

Moomin I've been having the same issues with my bra. I went from 32 to 34 chest and a bra extender by twelve weeks! And since then i wear sports bras whenever poss, as i get really uncomfortable with the underwiring as well. It feels really restrictive. I don't think Peanut's feet jamming right up against everything is helping that feeling tho! (at least that's what it feels like)

Awww DaHolster she didn't wake up when she fell out? LOL, bless her! (at least someone's getting some quality sleep around here, then!)

Lauren82000 · 23/02/2015 18:50

I'm not drooling but between my boobs is always a bit sweaty and stuck together in the morning. That's the extent of my night sweats. Blush

MoominMama22 · 23/02/2015 19:08

Oh Lauren I'm exactly the same with boob sweat. Horrid. Also been waking up in the night with lower back and legs drenched in sweat to the point that I think for a moment perhaps I've wet myself or my waters have gone. I think everyone does sweat in their sleep anyway ( i know dh does!) and maybe we're just noticing it coz we are waking up through the night? Or is extra sweatiness a known preggo thing?

Got both bedroom windows open and its been storms and blizzards so don't think the room is too hot! Haha

smogsville · 23/02/2015 19:10

OMG on the tube and dying for a wee. Four stops to go.

TheBooMonster · 23/02/2015 19:23

oh dahlster I'm a bit in love with those nursery birds!

Have just had a traumatic moment, I have tried to make a lasagne, and I genuinely struggled with the layering, then I remembered the last time I tried to cook a lasagne I was about 10, and I completely destroyed it and got told off for ruining dinner, lol >.< I think I have Lasagne PTSD, I don't even want to eat it now, though it doesn't look that appetising, may as well have dropped the whole lot from a great height into the dish :/

mini I also have the maggie howell book, I found all the testimonials for the CD's in it to be a serious pain, and I'm a bit dubious of God using hypnotherapy to operate on Adam, but there were some really useful bits in it!

siarie well I guess that means the tracks are definitely relaxing you!

rl I already had a cold when I had my jab and it didn't make it much worse, do make sure to get in in the arm you don't sleep on though, your writing being a bit squiffy for a day or so totally beats not being able to sleep!

PenguinPoser · 23/02/2015 19:44

RL my experience with whooping cough vaccine was fine, I had way more pain and soreness from the flu jab. I was was pleasantly surprised.

Aww daholster your DD is so cute bless her sleeping in that position!

I've also been having bra issues was wearing a 32/34C prior to pregnancy and I'm now wearing a non underwired 36B (boobs clearly still tiny! Blush) although it wasn't measured so bet it's the wrong size. Will definitely get measured for nursing bras and likely grab a couple from primark too - sorry can't remember who mentioned that but thanks!

Boo hope your lasagne is good bet it tastes ok still.

Banana how exciting sounds like your nursery is really coming together now Smile I love mine. Don't know how to do photos from my phone but my wallpaper is owls similar to daholsters but not the same colours. We have matching lamp and light shade and border around the rest of the room. I just love looking at it. Although baby won't be in it properly for a good few months. Speaking of which, my snuzpod is finally out for delivery tomorrow! They can't give me a time slot though Hmm which is rubbish as I will be at work and need to ask FIL to come and sit in the house which understandably he doesn't want to do all day!

Lauren82000 · 23/02/2015 19:56

Firstly, Boo how do you mess up the layering? Meat, pasta, white sauce, meat, pasta, white sauce, cheese? I'm sure it'll be fine once it's cooked either way. Just stick extra cheese on the top that fixes everything.

Well DH got a call from his dad while I was doing bedtime so I've only got the barest of info about stepMILs funeral. Apparently it's Thursday (presuming this week) there is room for me at the house and I'm on track to go. Haven't got anything else out of him as he had already started playing online with his brother so I've got no chance of an actual conversation till bedtime. Hmm The only reason I know the little bits I do is from overhearing him speak to his bro. Going to have to sort something for work if we aren't coming back till Friday. Might even have to work Wednesday morning before we set off. Shock

TheBooMonster · 23/02/2015 20:14

Well it was a vegetarian lasagne, so there was a bowl of oniony kale mix and a bowl of cheesy cherry tomato mix, and then the white sauce and pasta, but the tomato-cheese mix was pretty lumpy and solid, so I only really managed one layer of it. The pasta totally came out raw too >.< Luckily the Tesco order should be here soon, and it has snack food, else we'd starve this evening as it was fairly inedible all things considered :/ Looked nice though...

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 23/02/2015 20:17

I was a 40J bra before getting pregnant - I buy them from Amazon usually! (well, it's more like through amazon than from)

And I can't stand wearing underwires either.

So it's worth looking on Amazon
